What Does Changing Human Nature Mean?

546.02Question: Can a scientist understand what changing human nature means without participating in this experience himself?

Answer: Of course. This is very easy to understand.

In nature, there is egoism, and there is a force that can change it to its opposite to altruism. We just need to know how to attract this force to correct us. This is achieved by specific work in small groups where we annul ourselves before the others, purely mechanically, as if in a game.

But can we, egoists, annul ourselves? We can. By making such efforts, we attract the positive force of nature.

Nature consists of two forces, positive and negative, plus and minus. Today, we are controlled only by the negative force. And we can attract the positive one with our own efforts. Then, while existing between both forces and balancing nature, we will begin to understand it and control it ourselves.

Subtleties Of The Perception Of The World

764.2Comment: In our world, we deal with ordinary corporeal sciences. From the point of view of Kabbalah,  does the phenomenon of consciousness require that we somehow try to change the habitual perception of the world, which is completely attached to materialism or mysticism.

My Response: Mysticism is out of question here. There are fields that today we cannot measure. We only guess about their existence in the same way we do about some cosmic actions.

We cannot feel everything with our hands. Although modern science is far from medieval, it is already the science of the 21st century, but still, it is necessary to introduce some concepts about the fact that we exist inside a field and feel it.

Since we consist of a certain structure, this field, acting on us, causes certain sensations in us, and we perceive them as the world around us and we exist in it. Inside each person, there is a kind of sensor that feels that it exists in a certain world, inside a certain field.

Always New

231.01People follow the religious commandments with great enthusiasm because they feel great support for their desire to receive pleasure; they are willing to make efforts to receive rewards in this world and most importantly in the future world, forever. Therefore, a person is ready to work all the years of his life in order to receive eternal life.

But how can one avoid the shame of receiving such a thing so as not to work for the Creator out of self-interest? That is why the whole reality was created, so we could work in it and instead of being rewarded for our work, the work itself will give us new organs of perception that allow us to enter the world, the whole of which is a reward.

Kabbalah can never become a religion because a Kabbalist goes through changes all the time. Religion is based on rigid attitudes that are forbidden to be changed, on dogmas that cannot be deviated from,  which clearly define everything that needs to be done.

And Kabbalah, at its core, as a method of advancing to the Creator, presupposes constant changes in a person. Each time, the Creator is new, and I am new, with a new relationship, a new group. Therefore, Kabbalah is not considered a religion.

Every second, every time, every person and the whole ten together check themselves and constantly change. After all, everything is subject to change since it is being realized in our desire to receive pleasure, which is constantly changing.

People who like to obey clear orders prefer a religious framework and derive content from following them.

A Kabbalist is always in doubt, in clarification, in uncertainty, and must cling to the Creator through the group in order to attract some light that illuminates his path. And this is the right way for spiritual development, because in this way we build ourselves in the likeness of the Creator and become people, “sons of Adam,” having made our way through all this confusion and turmoil.

According to the definition of Kabbalah, Bnei Baruch is a movement aimed at revealing the Creator to the creatures in this world.

The Need To Ask Questions

938.04Question: There are students who don’t feel the need to ask questions for years. Does this prevent their advancement?

Answer: It depends on the student’s nature. There are 400 students sitting in front of me every day and about 20 of them ask me questions regularly, I already know them by heart. They cannot behave differently because they need to study through a dialogue with the teacher. They must ask a question and hear the answer that is specifically for them. Otherwise, they don’t hear what is said.

It is a big question whether they hear what others are saying. So, on one hand, I complain to them, and on the other hand, I understand that they need to hear the specific answer to their question and integrating in other’s questions is a problem for them.

Fortunately, there are not many, I already know them, and there is nothing I can do about it. Without them, there would be no questions, and if there are no questions something is missing. So let them ask. It depends on a person’s character, on the structure of one’s personality. So don’t worry if you study quietly and don’t ask questions. It is not a problem, as long as you are present.

Why Do We Not Feel Spiritual Processes In Ourselves?

525Question: Why does a person not understand that while reading The Book of Zohar, he is engaging with the greatest thing that exists in reality?

Answer: If a person was shown what was happening to him, he would not be able to relate to it correctly.

For example, if a child could understand why he is developing like this: running from corner to corner, touching, trying, breaking, crying, he would already be above the level he is on.

The fact is that spiritual development does not happen in the same way as in our world where we go to university and fill our voids with knowledge while studying. Here is the development of feelings and desires that we do not possess.

Under the influence of light, we develop completely new properties in ourselves, which we initially do not have. When we reach their definite development, these properties are born in us, and we begin to feel the upper world in them.

But until they have developed, we cannot see them, feel them, or understand them because there must be some threshold to which we must grow and acquire a minimum level of sensitivity.

Similarity To The Properties Of The Surrounding Field

565.01Question: In physics and in other sciences of the corporeal world, a field is usually associated with some kind of a carrier. In the spiritual world, is there no such carrier, or is it also determined?

Answer: In our world, there are some fields that we find difficult to form in the form of corporeal ones. I do not see the difference between different influences and everything that exists. I see it only in the detector, a person who, within himself, determines the division into many different carriers, parts, and properties.

Basically, an information field is just a field. It is a power. We call it the force of bestowal. A person is the receiving power. He has the opportunity to receive perception from this field directly as he is, and then he feels himself as existing, as they say, in our world.

He also has the opportunity to rise in his sensations to higher levels of conjugation with this field. Then, in addition to our level of perception, he will feel other levels of this field—spiritual. But all the same, all these sensations are only in the person himself, and only in the degree of the similarity of his properties to the properties of the field.

Is It Possible To Explore Our Consciousness?

228Comment: In science, there is great confusion between consciousness, reason, and intellect. Everything is piled into one heap.

My Response: Let’s try to understand these definitions. Frankly speaking, I never did this intentionally. I found my teacher at a young age, and he “bought” me with an absolutely clear, systematic approach to everything.

Comment: The problem is that for hundreds of years we have made almost no progress on this issue. Descartes, for example, searched for the soul in the brain, found the pineal gland, and said “This is the soul.” And today it is the same: consciousness is sought after in the brain.

Surprisingly, it seems that exactly in these areas there is great progress, there is tomography, a large number of tools, but we have not made any progress.

My Response: The fact is that these devices will not be able to give us any impression about the soul, about consciousness, nor about the mind.

Comment: Unfortunately, scientists continue their research in this direction. Some of them say, “Consciousness research is a waste of time.” Others feel that they have reached a dead end and can do nothing. Yet, all of them still continue to cling to a purely materialistic approach.

My Response: Kabbalah also deals with pure materialism. It says, “It is necessary to find a way to rise above our nature. Our entire nature is egoism. We must try to rise above it.”

Do we have this opportunity or not? Kabbalah says that we have it, and accordingly it gives some tools, some opportunities.

On one hand, this is, in principle, a clear, sober, materialistic approach. On the other hand, it goes against our nature, our egoistic desires. Therefore, scientists do not need it.

Within the framework of our nature, scientists agree to anything because there is a visible benefit in the place where you invest. They are willing to take risks and sacrifice themselves, but they understand this in their mind at the same level. There are well-known examples of when scientists really sacrificed their lives in dangerous experiments.

However, the average person cannot understand what Kabbalah offers. Here we need a different atmosphere, a different laboratory. Here you yourself are the laboratory.

How can we talk about the mind if we do not try to rise above it?! How can we study it?! This is clear to anyone: If I need to research something, I need to be at least a small step higher than this object of research. It is impossible to do anything without exiting yourself. Therefore, I agree with those who say that this is beyond their control.

Without the auxiliary tool that Kabbalah offers,—to extract from the surrounding world, from the field surrounding us, a force that is opposite to our nature, and make it change us, raise us above our nature to the next level—it is impossible to explore our current degree. Then we will know what the mind is and what consciousness is. It will be possible for anyone.

In the meantime, we just have to accept without proof that there is such a force that can take us to the next degree. Then from this degree, we will explore our consciousness and our mind.

Spiritual Sensations

294.2Remark: In recent years, scientists around the world have been actively studying the phenomenon of spiritual sensations.

From the point of view of neuroscience, it is related to the activity of the lower parietal lobe of the brain. All tested subgroups have a similar sign of this sensation, when in a person’s consciousness the boundary between his personality and the rest of the surrounding world is blurred and a feeling of connection with something much larger than himself arises.

My Response: Correct. On the plane of our earthly psychology, this is exactly what happens.

Question: How can we evoke spiritual sensations, something that is defined in the material world as enlightenment?

Answer: True spiritual sensations do not depend on mental, physical, or moral efforts. They depend only on the person’s interactions with those around him when he, through the direct positive influence on others, reaches the revelation of the connection with the upper force of governance. But only to the extent he is able to rise above his ego.

Question: Is the brain activated in any way in that?

Answer: No. It could be a very simple person or it could be a great sage, it does not matter.

Is It Possible To Trigger An Epiphany?

222Question: Sometimes a complex problem stumps a person. You struggle with a solution, but there is no solution. But should you get distracted, and an epiphany falls on you, everything is suddenly solved. Scientists say that almost a third of people solve problems only with the help of an epiphany.

From the point of view of biology, an insight or epiphany is the formation of a new neural connection in the brain. You can’t create it directly, but somehow, with the help of effort, distraction, by creating certain conditions, it just appears, and in a person’s mind it appears as a solution.

Do you think it is possible to cause such an epiphany?

Answer: Yes. This can be done by moral and mental exertion, by placing yourself in a certain external environment with certain people or with nature.

A person who is searching for his new spiritual state needs this illumination. He understands that there are forces around us, and he would like to invoke their influence on himself. He tries to do it.

There are even all sorts of techniques, both spiritual and scientific, that talk about how to do it. Try it.

Comment: Even quantum physics says that a person moves unevenly, but progressively, from level to level. That is, there is a jump through the potential difference, and the person moves, rises.

My Response: There is a cumulative process, and then a jump.

Question: Can an epiphany be likened to such a jump?

Answer: Yes, but this is done on a different plane, not in the mind. Not that he can order an epiphany in advance, but he makes a certain effort to do so.

Preparing For Spiritual Life

522.01Question: Can a person read The Book of Zohar not in the original language but in translation?

Answer: It doesn’t matter. You can read in any language and it does not even matter how much you understand. Your striving for the goal even without understanding what you read awakens forces that change you, and this is very important. You seek to attain.

There are many books and other information about Kabbalah in our Internet archive. It is accessible to everyone, because without basic knowledge, you still cannot exist in the spiritual world, just as a person cannot do without basic knowledge of arithmetic, physics, and other subjects.

After studying them for the first 10 to 15 years of life, he can already function safely in our world. And if he, as a child, was thrown somewhere in the forest and he comes out of there in 15 years, he will not be able to live in this world.

Therefore, we need to prepare a person for spiritual life. This is the purpose of the huge amount of information that we have on the Internet and in books, so that a person can get to know it at least a little. This is enough to begin to be drawn into the revelation of the upper.
