Question: In modern science there is a theory and experimental confirmation that our world is absolutely predetermined. However, science contains hidden parameters that are unattainable today. Is it possible to combine both of these statements: our world being absolutely predetermined and the unattainability of the parameters on which it is based?

Answer: I believe that there is no such a concept as unattainability. It all depends on the degree of the development of our desires, intentions, and inner qualities.

In general, everything is attainable. There is nothing that a person in our world cannot attain. To do this, you do not need to move, to die, or to transform into some other states or worlds. All this can be attained in this world, in our lifetime.

It depends on how a person develops, maybe not in a single lifetime because there are cycles of lives. But in the end, any person in our world will attain everything to the extent that he works on himself and develops himself.

Question: What instruments does the science of Kabbalah offer for studying the phenomenon of consciousness and mind?

Answer: Exiting yourself is what we need to feel the information field that surrounds us. And it is possible to feel it only beyond yourself.

Getting out of yourself is an effort to connect with similar inner tension according to specific laws and rules, i.e., one must, as it were, move into them, put yourself below them. Everything is built on “entering” the other, merging with him, and with all your might, physical and spiritual, help him in everything, excluding your “I.”

If I annul myself and I have an object of which I am trying to become a part of, and I merge with it, enter it, and dissolve in it, then I can rise above myself. This is the practice.

At the beginning, it is often purely emotional. And then, in addition to emotions, common sense, reasoning, and conclusions are added here, a method of exiting and entering another appears, a sensation of ”I” and “outside of me” arises. And outside of me is a field.

Whom am I entering then? And who is this other, my friend? It is some substance I imagine outside of me in which I am trying to dissolve completely. What happens in this case to my consciousness, to my sensations, to my capabilities? This is where the transformation of a person into “plus one” begins.

Question: Does this happen according to the law of resonance? All devices for studying ordinary fields used in physics are devices that use the principle of resonance.

Answer: Here it is the same! I try to subdue myself and resonate with the other.

Question: Is this a general universal law of research?

Answer: And there are no new laws. It’s just that I try to merge all my sensory sensations, definitions, and capabilities with others according to the same physical laws, and nothing more. I tune in as if I were taking a musical instrument and tuning it to a certain reference.

Question: Is there any difference in how to read one book or another? For example, The Study of the Ten Sefirot or The Book of Zohar.

Answer: As in any science, there are certain rules and approaches here. Over the 30 years our organization has been operating, we have done a lot concerning this matter.

I published my first book in 1983, and I wrote it two years earlier. Today there are other media beside printed text, but it still remains the main one.

Therefore, you can listen to all my lectures and classes—and there are many, many thousands of them—in audio format or watch them in video format, that is, fully feeling that you are present at the lesson, in the classroom, and see how it all happens. We have been making these recordings for the last twenty years.

I was one of the first people in the country to get my own website: kabbalah.info.

Question: This concerns lessons. What about books? Is there a difference between receiving them through other media or to read a printed text?

Answer: Basically, we do not read my books. I teach only from primary sources, from the works of Baal HaSulam and Rabash. And books written around primary sources are for everyone else.

The primary sources that we study are intended for people who begin to study Kabbalah. They usher them very deeply into this science.

A person who begins to look over these books sees that Kabbalah invites him to get acquainted with the world we exist in but do not feel.

It exists outside of us, it influences us, and we influence it. We kind of breathe with it, work in unison. Everything I do is given from above. Even the movements that I am making with my hands now, as well as my thoughts, are controlled from above.

Having additionally built a certain attitude toward the upper world, I can also influence it, i.e., enter into a correct connection with it, feel what the upper system wants from me and how I can change my destiny.

Question: Let’s say a person reads a primary source or listens to it in audio format. There are musical inserts, pauses, etc. Which format will influence him the most?

Answer: It depends on the person. If he studies the right way, it doesn’t matter which format he uses. All this will lead him to a common concept. It is the same as when we look at a painting; its colors and composition all together affect us. We may not even be aware of how.

Question: When a person studies music he first learns to read musical notes and only after prolonged exercises on the musical instrument does one acquire the ability to play, and by reading the notes he already feels the tune. I think a similar process happens when studying the wisdom of Kabbalah.

When we study the Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Pticha) we engage in the intention, and the “musical notes” that should remain in our thought, but they evaporate for some reason. We have been studying for many years and we still cannot remember the dynamics of the spiritual objects.

Is it necessary first to acquire the basic knowledge of The Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah, i.e., to get to know its dynamics, the interaction between the spiritual objects and their changing states, before we begin to translate it to feelings?

Answer: No, there is no need for that.

Try to picture what Tzimtzum means, then the light leaves you, the feeling of shame and the decision to receive the light only for the sake of the Creator. This is the beginning of the “musical notes” without which it is impossible to learn how to play, which means to receive the light, to reject it, and to receive it in new clothing, etc.

We are already on the verge of entering spirituality and we need to begin to feel it and begin to play. Theoretically, we have already played this many times, but we have not combined our feelings with the words and did not give the words feelings, and therefore, we have not entered the upper world and have not touched our soul. Now we must do that.

We need to try to summon this in us somehow, and then you will begin to feel the extent to which you are part of this process or not. Care about this, work on it more actively. Some of you may leave this because you will not feel the need for it. Some of you may not perceive it emotionally and will continue to study only mechanically for a few more years and only then will you join the group in its sensory movement.

So, we should not banish anyone nor force anyone nor reprimand anyone. But I will advance in the study because I focus on the advanced part of the world group. I believe that there are people in every group around the world who are already in a state in which they can begin to think sensorially; they do not simply read words about actions and objects in our world, but are actually in upper spiritual sensations.

Question: When we go through a state of emptiness or feel a state of descent, how can we keep the balance between the ascent and descent, between emptiness and the filling?

Answer: You can do this only in the group, because when you are in the group in such a state everything is balanced and complements itself between you. You can undergo different states, but they will never harm you, they will not throw you off track, and will not detain you. Part of the “notes” will be added to others and there will be harmony.

Question: One of the challenges of the twenty-first century is the agony of religions. Since the end of the 20th century and literally the first two decades of the 21st century, there has been a return to religions. It’s like a bright flash before fading out. What would be the alternative?

Answer: Attainment of the upper force. Moreover, there is a clear attainment, a clear contact between people and the manifestation of the upper force in this contact, within humanity. Attaining it in sensation, humanity will rise to the level of this force.

No religion, no beliefs! There will be no room for them because there will be a clear sensory and mental sense of the upper world. Humanity will come to the level of a different existence, higher than its nature. This is the goal of our development.

While remaining in our bodies, in the sense of this world, we will simultaneously attain that huge computer, that huge system that controls us, and we ourselves will begin to control it. We’ll get to the point where we can reprogram this computer.

And then, when we reach this stage with the whole of humanity, then those people who gradually enter and are in this program, will begin to lose the sense of this world, because in reality it does not exist. It is only felt in our five bodily senses, and they are purely conditional.

Thus, our world will gradually disappear from our senses, and we will feel ourselves existing on the next, spiritual level, inside a huge computer, which is called the universe.

Question: Is it like a human-made robot suddenly understanding the human brain, the one who created it?

Answer: Yes. Our task is to understand the one who created us, and to be equal to Him, to be His partner.

Question: My friend and I recently spoke about the order in studying the primary sources of the wisdom of Kabbalah and touched upon The Tree of Life. By drawing an analogy with musical notes, we came to a conclusion that Baal HaSulam presents this work as a symphony. At that, he is absolutely certain that The Tree of Life will be read by people well-versed in music, and there will be no secrets for them. And for the people who do not completely understand it, he wrote a simpler musical piece and called it The Study of the Ten Sefirot.

Does this mean that there is a group in Bnei Baruch where there is both: the internal part that knows about “C flat” and an external part?

Answer: We all need to advance together and not divide ourselves into parts, groups, or levels in any way. We all make up one homogeneous structure.

We will study what we study and you will begin to feel the material. You are right about the symphony where we all integrate in the general common tune, just like a musical instrument that the Creator plays on. We constantly aim and tune this instrument to a tonality increasingly closer to the Creator, and the Creator plays on it.

Question: What is the correct thing to desire while reading the sources in order to be able to integrate with them in sensation correctly?

Answer: Everything we are given is necessary so that regardless of whether a person knows or does not know, understands or not, speaks Hebrew or has nothing to do with it, he connects it to the Creator. This applies to every person regardless of what he knows or understands.

So, whenever we read the sources during the lesson or whichever part of the wisdom of Kabbalah we study, you should think only about this: “How can I achieve the minimum connection with the Creator” without being wise guys! You will see that it is actually such a simple, I would even say naïve, attitude toward the text that works.

We are talking about more tools that we can use in order to hold on to the upper source and begin to focus it on ourselves in every direction.

Question: You say that there is a very interesting interaction between the mind and feeling. On one hand, our basis is feelings, and on the other hand, we are still talking about a conscious approach. Does this mean that a person that moves into the spiritual must do it consciously, the mind is involved?

Answer: Yes, it’s just that we are not aware of it.

I had a friend who was an organ tuner at the Dome Cathedral in Riga. He once told me how to tune this ancient instrument. It involves is terrible math! Such calculations, such formulas! What did its makers know, what did they seem to understand?! All this is hearing and all this is feeling.

On the one hand, mathematics, formulas, waves, columns of air pressure, and so on. On the other hand, we can say that this is not a conceptual, but a sensory apparatus: how it affects the membrane, the hearing, penetrates inside, reaches the heart. Where does this all happen? How can we divide this into sensible and intelligent systems?

Comment: Traditionally, psychology and all the sciences associated with it divide the human psyche into the sphere of the conscious and the extra-conscious. Then there are more divisions: the extra-conscious is divided into the subconscious and the supra-conscious, which is responsible for creativity. But feeling works on the subconscious level. In general, most of the personality belongs to the extra-conscious.

My Response: We just unconsciously process them with our conceptual, mathematical apparatus. Just like a person who listens to music. If we knew all his perceiving, sensory apparatus, we could describe it all. These are pure formulas.

Question: But the result of this processing is the final product, our knowledge. That is, we can already own the mind and somehow manage. Is it possible to say that the knowledge that I can impart to others belongs to the realm of consciousness? Is it right to identify consciousness and knowledge?

Answer: No, I don’t think so. Knowledge is the amount of information acquired by a person that helps one exist. This is one’s archive of actions, practices, experiences, and everything that he has.

And consciousness is the possibility of perception at a certain level. A person with a small amount of knowledge can have a consciousness that a huge elephant does not have.

That is, knowledge is accumulated material, and consciousness is the possibility of perception.

Question: If we consider desires from a purely scientific point of view, then such consideration requires their concise definition. Could you give such a definition?

Answer: At the heart of the entire universe is the desire to be fulfilled, to enjoy, to attain, to receive, to absorb. In a cruder form, we define it as egoism, the will to receive.

We see that this is practically the basis of any creation, even inanimate, even more so vegetative, animate, and speaking. Naturally, the higher these states are, the greater the will to receive, to enjoy, is.

Kabbalah deals with both the study of this desire and the study of its implementation, which is the maximum fulfillment. This is the essence of this wisdom.
