Korach – Pharaoh’s Treasurer

Laitman_079_02During the years of the Egyptian slavery, Korach was the treasurer of Pharaoh and hoped that the Jews would remain in Egypt, and he would be the sole manager of the royal treasury.

Korach hoped to change everything that was in his egoistic nature to bestowal.

Comment: Isn’t being the Pharaoh’s  treasurer a negative trait?

Answer: On the contrary, he was smart! Someone who is smart is not considered a wise person; rather, it is someone who knows what to do with his intelligence.

So to be “the sole manager of the royal treasury” means to take on the task of transforming acts of reception into bestowal. This means attaining the end of correction (Gmar Tikkun) by transforming all the wealth of the ego into bestowal.

In spite of his exceptional characteristics, Korach never dared to confront Moses, but his wife constantly elevated her husband’s self-confidence and convinced him that he was not inferior to Moses and Aaron in any way. Unfortunately, Korach listened to her words.

Here the same thing that happened to Adam HaRishon (the First Man) repeated itself. The “serpent” did its job.

The woman is the desire to receive within us, and this desire says to you that you can do more and for this you don’t need to be connected to Moses. And Moses is the characteristic of pure Bina.

So when Korach became detached from Bina, he could no longer deal with the royal treasury, because the treasury refers to the egoistic forces that are possible to gradually transform into altruistic ones.

Eternal Soul

Laitman_509The Torah, “Numbers,” 15:30 – 15:31: But the soul that doeth aught with a high hand, whether he be home-born or a stranger, the same blasphemeth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken His commandment; that soul shall utterly be cut off, his iniquity shall be upon him.

Question: What does “that soul shall be utterly cut off” mean?

Answer: It is impossible to cut the soul off, for after all, this is the discovery of the characteristic of bestowal, love, the Light, in a person.

If we make our egoistic desire similar to the Light, the upper force, then this characteristic of bestowal and love begins to perceive the Upper Light and be filled with it to the degree of equivalence with each other, and this is called a soul. In this manner we connect ourselves with the Creator, with the Light.

Our main function is to make sure all of our separate internal desires, intentions, thoughts, and feelings gather together under one solitary intention of bestowal and love outside of ourselves.

And then to the extent that at any given time they are joined and connected within us, we create within us an object called the Creator and we feel Him within us. The characteristic of love and bestowal that this person can create within himself is the Creator.

Question: So why is it said that if, “the soul that doeth aught with a high hand… shall utterly be cut off, his iniquity shall be upon him”?

Answer: If a person was on a spiritual height or he had the possibility of rising to this height, but he does the opposite, then he falls, descends from this height. It follows that the previous soul is apparently cut off and he must produce it anew, but already on another greater level. So the descent is necessary.

In every stage you must fall from the previous level and rise to a higher level.

When we read the Torah, we see how the people made mistakes all the time. The question may be asked, couldn’t they learn anything?! But they must commit sins; they must discover the poisons of their egoism within them again and again, then correct them, and rise even higher upward.

Along with this, they must be happy about their descent! As it is said, “A Tzadik (righteous) will fall a thousand times and get up” (see Proverbs 24:16). This is our way.

How Do You Become Jewish?

laitman_933Question: If I arrive at the spiritual land of Israel, I am subject to its laws. Can a foreigner who has never been Jewish can become a teacher like Rabbi Akiva for example?

Answer: Of course, what’s the difference? Rabbi Akiva came to the land of Israel a thousand years later than the people Abraham led out of Babylon. Abraham was called “Abraham Ivri” (“Ever” stems from the Hebrew word “Laavor” – to cross) because he was the first person of the Babylonian generation who transcended the Machsom, the barrier between our world and the spiritual world, and became a Hebrew, a Jew. But the very first Jew, i.e., a person who attained the spiritual world, was Adam.

None of us was born into the spiritual world. We all belong either to the nations of the world or to the Hebrews/Jews, which means those who transcend the Machsom. Therefore, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a foreigner who has never been a Jew can become the spiritual teacher of the generation. There have been quite a few such people. By the way, in the past, the nation of Israel lived according to spiritual laws and many non-Jewish people came to Israel, studied, remained here, were incorporated in the spiritual society, and became Jewish. It is because the Jews are not a nation but a group that was established artificially on the basis of a common idea.

Many great scientists, like the ancient Greeks for example, came to study from the Jews. This is the reason that the basics of philosophy, which they later developed, were taken from the wisdom of Kabbalah. When they returned to their homeland they adapted this knowledge to the corporeal world, but the perspective, the view, that has nothing to do with our world is still at the basis of their teachings.

Money Is No Longer A Capitalistic Objective

laitman_600_02Opinion (Ivan Novikov, economist): “The classic formula of capitalism: “money—goods—money” is outdated due to the fact that wealthy people have put an end to centralization and are controlling their expenses by themselves using a private institute, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors (FRB). Accordingly, money is no longer a capitalistic objective.

“The new formula of modern capitalism (of globalization) is: money—instability—assets. It is about the control and domination of the economies of states by using the method of sanctions and wars, the centralization of assets by economic, political and military tools throughout the world. Having unlimited amounts of money the elites of developed countries wring all the other countries of their assets and enslave them.”

My Comment: But in the meantime the world has become interdependent and nature forces everyone to unite. So despite the aspirations of modern capitalism, nature will crush us and subdue and enslave us to its own path of evolution.

A Virtual World

laitman_423_01Question: Why is our reality called a virtual reality while the spiritual reality is called a concealed reality?

Answer: It is because we don’t perceive our reality by the same vessels, senses, that we feel the spiritual world. We cannot describe anything in the real spiritual world in our reality, in our words.

The question arises, “How our reality can exist if it is a branch of the upper root?” It doesn’t exist. It is imaginary. This is the reason it is called an invented reality that has no connection with the upper world.

And  everything I do in this world, all my efforts,  do they affect the upper world? We influence the upper only to the extent that we desire to be involved with all stages of spirituality, to the revelations in our point in the heart, but not by what is revealed by our five corporeal senses. So is there any connection between spirituality and all the actions and the commandments that we fulfill in this world? No, after all it is an imaginary world.

All the spiritual levels exist and they are all included in the world of Ein Sof (Infinity), while this world simply disappears and doesn’t exist. It exists only if there is a point in the heart through which we enter the spiritual ladder. Everything else is considered corporeal existence, as it written: “all are like animals.” Therefore, our world is worthless except for the work with the point in the heart in order to bring it through the Machsom (barrier) and into the spiritual ladder. This is the reason that the world exists only for those who carry out and fulfill this.

Question: If this world doesn’t exist and is imaginary, why are there upper worlds that we hear about in our imaginary world?

Answer: There is a true reality that exists and there is an imaginary reality that exists only with respect to a person who dwells in a dream. What is the difference between the two? That’s the question… why isn’t this dream the true reality? Why am I not in a dream now? Who can prove to me that I am not? Could I be sleeping now and the alarm clock will go off soon and I will discover that I haven’t woken up for the lesson yet?

We will not know whether we are in an imaginary world or not unless we enter the spiritual world, unless the alarm goes off. When we begin to reveal the spiritual world after we wake up from the dream, we will see that “it is as if we were dreaming.”

Refugees: What Will Happen To Europe? Part 5

laitman_944Wisdom of Open Hearts

Europe is the first example of what the entire world might run into. South America is entering the north, a similar influx of the Islamic world will occur. We will see how these waves roll everywhere. And now before us is just the beginning.

Question: Does it mean that the situation with refugees in Europe is irreversible?

Answer: Yes, it will only get worse. Nobody will stand up and say: “No.” Eventually, Europeans will feel it on their own skin. They will realize that it is impossible to continue living as they do now and that they must change their nature. Only then will the Europeans stop suffering and will have to relate to refugees and other foreigners as to their close relatives. Everybody will be together; the entire world will become as one family.

Nature dictates this; his attitude will be the only possible way of treating others. Only then, will people be worthy of correction. And the peoples of the world will realize that correction is associated with the people of Israel and that correction is hidden in the wisdom of Kabbalah, the science of unity that waited for thousands of years for the Europeans to help them become open to all, open to the whole world.

By acting so, not only people will live better lives, but also they will get rid of pressure and slightly open the boundaries of this world. It is said in The Book of Zohar: “Open your heart and I will open the worlds to you.”

Question: There is nothing more surreal than letting strangers into our houses and hearts, treating them as dear and beloved friends. And there is nothing more disgusting than that picture. Will it truly happen?

Answer: All these events are arranged to overturn our nature and bring us to a state where life seems worse than death.

Question: Does it mean that we are facing a period of darkness?

Answer: Anyone who goes through a crisis considers it terrible. But there is a medication that can prevent the disease and explain the reasons and the essence of the current events. Nature deliberately arranges conditions that might lead us to unity in the world and makes us feel as if we are one family.

It is possible. It is easy. We have a methodology that stems from the very depth of nature. The wisdom of Kabbalah was given to us in ancient Babylon, when humanity first experienced a similar situation.

At that time, people refused to accept this wisdom. Only a small group of people carried it from Babylon to these days. Let’s take advantage of the wisdom now, thus ending afflictions, strife, and wars.

Then, we’ll sense the future reality right here in this world—the “Garden of Eden,” eternal and perfect life.
