Question: We all know that the feeling of time is very subjective. How can it be that when a person has to make an important decision, time is stretched so that a person goes through many states and can consider them?

Answer: That’s true, many people experience this phenomenon. Even in our ordinary life we sometimes feel that time is expanded and sometimes it flies and is compressed.

If I enjoy myself, time goes by unnoticed, and if I don’t enjoy myself, I cannot wait for the time to pass.

But time is even more subjective than we think. The question is whether we could feel time if we didn’t live according to our pulse which is 80-90 beats a minute, or according to our breathing cycle which is about 16-20 breaths a minute. If there weren’t the cycle of the seasons in the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature, could we perceive time on the level of the speaking, in our feelings? Probably not.

Perhaps we perceive time the way we do because this is the way we exist on our physical, animate level that is influenced by our human perception of reality and determines our perception of life and reality. A person develops and feels the connection with his past, present, and his future.

In contrast to a human being, an animal lives in the present, but it is still somehow connected to the future and is able to feel it. Animals feel the future in a much clearer way than humans becaise they are connected to nature. All the possible future forms already exist in nature, but they are concealed from us.

If we manage to annul our desire to receive, we will be able to transcend from a subjective perception to a more objective perception of time, and then we will be able to feel the future. The only problem is that we are in our egoistic desire. But if we manage to overcome it and ascend above it, the concept of time, motion, and space can be completely inverted and not be an obstacle in our perception.

A person who tries to break free of the his ego and ascend above it begins to think that if the whole universe—all the matter of the still, vegetative, animate and the level of humans—are in a desire to receive, and so there must be a force against it, which means a desire to bestow and to fill that desire to receive. Then he wants to know this force and transcend from the level of the one who receives pleasure to the level of the one who wants to provide pleasure.

To ascend above our desire to receive means to ascend above our nature. Is it possible to exit the framework of the universe, to transcend the moment of the Big Bang, and return to the state that preceded it, to the force that created the creation?

Suddenly we realize that in order to do that, we don’t need to fly to distant stars or to explore other worlds. We will find all that right here, where we are, inside us. It is because a person perceives everything in a subjective manner. Therefore, when I work on the perception of my reality, on my attitude towards what is going on here and now, I can perform exercises by which I will be able to ascend above my desire to receive, because nothing exists but me and everything exists only in my perception.

I will be able to control my desire to receive, to exit and restrict it, which means that I won’t allow it to operate egoistically, but rather I transform it into the force that motivates me.

Ascending above my desire to receive means acquiring a desire to bestow, the source from which the desire is filled. The desire to bestow is the force that caused the Big Bang and provided the spark from which our universe developed. This is the force that created all of matter and fills it.

In fact, this force is everywhere since it sustains and operates matter, but is concealed from us. We only perceive its outcomes, the force of attraction and rejection. Every action takes place as a result of that force, that spark of upper energy that is the source of life.

As long as I exist in my ego, time is my pulse that is totally subjective and exists only as long as I am alive. But if I want to ascend above time, then there is no problem, as all I have to do is simply ascend above my desire.

Question: What can a person do to fill the “concealment” void with bestowal?

Answer: A person must move the concealment from himself to “There is none else beside Him,” meaning not to be sorry for himself but for the “sorrow of the Shechina (Divinity).” He must feel how much he is now harming the group through the absence of his role. For the friends must continue their journey hauling his “body” on a stretcher.

I must understand that in this way I am a burden on them and must feel responsibility and shame also. It is clear that we don’t reach an understanding like this immediately but gradually. Rather, this is ultimately done with the help of the group and the Creator. So the “sorrow of the Shechina (Divinity),” means she is sorry because I am not participating properly in the general work.

The group is a concept that already exists in spirituality. If we were to discover spirituality, we would see that the group heart and mind already exist. We still don’t see this because the time has not yet arrived, but all this already exists. And so we discover that the mutual guarantee, the feeling, the reason, and the discovery of the Creator already exist in this state. This is something that exists above us and each one must support the others so that together, only through the intensity of the connection between us, we reach a structure of the group that already exists.

Question: What is it that we see when we look through the center of the group?

Answer: I see that everyone is connected except for me. And it is up to me to penetrate even further into the group and link to them; it is up to me to see this as a daily goal. I get up in the morning and check what is important to do today: arranging my relationship with the group better than it was yesterday so that at the end of the day I will be able to say that I advanced a little in the right direction.

If I don’t feel myself cut off from the group, I will not succeed in attracting the Light that Reforms. It is up to me to feel that we must renew and strengthen this connection to strengthen our Kli, to develop its effectiveness, growth, and quality and make it possible for the Creator to be revealed in it even more.

It is not important that we haven’t yet discovered what kind of contentment we are giving the Creator. Does an infant understand how much his mother and father enjoy his smile? Our advancement is measured only in this way. We can ask for the Light that Reforms only when the connection between us, that we ourselves are not ready to attain, is missing.

It is clear that I am not ready to do anything myself and I discover to my amazement that I am going forward in the opposite direction. But this is for the good. It is now only up to me to understand this and advance towards prayer. Don’t shout about it being bad for me; this is childish.

The Creator pushes me so that I will discover a deficiency in bringing Him pleasure, not for myself. He arranges all the conditions for me to reach bestowal.

Question: Can I ask for the Light that Reforms for myself?

Answer: Certainly; after all, you want to get off the stretcher so they will not need to haul you because you are ashamed. You want to run side by side with the friends yourself.

Question: How do I know that I am receiving the Light that Reforms as an answer to my prayer and that it is working on me?

Answer: There is no need to wait for proof of it. Just enjoy the request itself. You don’t need to be concerned about an answer to your prayer for that means you are demanding a reward, a fulfillment; you are establishing conditions and want to make a deal with the Creator to attain benefit.

Your goal is to raise MAN, a prayer. For specifically it is through Manna (Man-Ohm) we are filled in the desert and not by MAD (the Light). The prayer itself must be the fulfillment. If you are raising it, it is already good for you, “I am my beloved’s” (Song of Songs 6:3). The prayer itself is the reward. You will then discover that you don’t need more than this, for spirituality is discovered specifically this way.

The integration between the two forces, reception and bestowal, is the foundation of creation. Modern science is approaching this phenomenon, but still is not ready to feel it. The scientists are approaching some threshold after which they will discover that time, space, and movement don’t exist, that there is no life and death, and that matter doesn’t exist, not even fundamental particles. Rather, all of these are found in our sensations.

What does exist? How do we acquire the senses for the new dimension?

Scientists already have reached the conclusion that there is no life and death, rather everything is derived from some kind of internal sensation. So, who are we? Does my body truly exist, or does it only seem that way to me? The concept of “existence” disappears; for whom does it exist? Recent scientific articles indicate that they reach that it is purely internal contemplation.

Question: Suppose that Kabbalists have a goal that many people might see as transient, but is still a goal. The goal of the scientists is simply to discover something, and what else?

Answer: The same goal exists for us and for the scientists. We want to discover the purpose of life! What difference does it make if we call it Creator, nature, or anything else? I want to discover the truth, but I am not ready to do this because I discover it in regard to myself; and, if I change, it also changes. This is to say that it is no longer the truth, it is no longer absolute, and if we are talking about the absolute, I cannot attain it. I am not prepared to feel and understand it because I am not ready for this. I must change myself beforehand. However, how can I change regarding the same space in which I will discover the truth?

This is truly a theory of relativity, but not that of Einstein. Rather, it is more modern. After all, we now find ourselves on the threshold of crossing the barrier into the realization of a new space. It is possible to call this a space because it is felt within us, similar to our space. However, it is up to each of us to check as to whether we have felt the truth. This is obligatory. We can examine this only on condition that we go outside ourselves and calibrate ourselves relative to something eternal and whole. How do we do this? It is exactly here that science stops and fails. So, the scientists will ultimately begin to hear us. They will have a great yearning to advance, together with the great disappointment that they cannot advance because of the barrier that they are not ready to cross. They will understand that on the other side of the barrier is found something that they are not ready to perceive because they have no other senses, and where are these senses found? How are they acquired? How do we change in order to acquire them?

When a state like this is created, they will be ready to listen to and understand us. They will have all the preconditions of yearning, a tremendous attraction to advancement, the recognition of their powerlessness, and the feeling that we are talking about something that arises on the same standard as their sensation.

What is science? It is a yearning to discover the Creator. Scientists aspire to discover the Creator, but they call Him nature. We also call Him nature, but for them, nature is only the laws that operate in this world, and we are saying that nature is much broader. We offer the investigation of the laws of the next world.

When people become the subject of investigation, their values are changed. This is even though we don’t think this way because we have become used to thinking that we are unchanging. For example, in a mathematical formula, one factor is a constant, and the rest of the factors change, and that is how we solve the equation. After that, we begin to change this factor and don’t change the others, and so on.

That is how it is with us as well. We think that we don’t need to change ourselves and are exploring a changing nature. However, when we reach a barrier, a blind alley, we begin to hear and understand something as researchers. However, if we begin to change ourselves, could it be that we also discover that we cause a change? When we begin to be changed, we acquire new senses.

The scientists say that perception is subjective. If emotion is subjective, let’s change the subject, and then we will see other worlds.

Question: You said that the strength of luck leads us into the next world. What future world do you have in mind?

Answer: The future world means that I exit my body. In other words, I rise above my ego. The ego is all my desires, thoughts, inclinations and all my selfish awareness that is called my body, not my flesh, which is considered to be an animal.

I must rise above all these desires and thoughts, and instead of seeking to absorb everything internally, I have the desire to give to my neighbor.

This means that the soul leaves the body, I feel the future world and I find a new desire to bestow, to love, and unite. All this is called the second body in which I enter and act on the basis of these new desires. So I move further and further until I reach full correction.

The future world means a world to come, my next state, which I achieve as a result of work on myself and my attitude towards others. I exchange this world for the future world by exchanging love for myself for love of my neighbor. This means I reach the next world from this world and enter the Garden of Eden.

Question: Why is it called the Garden of Eden?

Answer: Because I’m starting to feel that I am beyond all limits, because there are no boundaries in bestowing to others. I am in an expanse that fully belongs to me.

Question: What does it mean to bestow on to everyone?

Answer: To bestow means to do good out of love for everyone.

Question: Why is it if a person wants to do good to all then one is in the Garden of Eden?

Answer: Because the Garden of Eden is called the place where you can do whatever you want without any restrictions. After all, you want to give, and there are no boundaries on bestowal. And then you feel that everything is for the good of everyone, everything is for you and is full abundance.

In other words, the future of the world is called the land of Israel (Eretz Isra-El), the desire fully directed at the Creator.  The Creator is a comprehensive force of bestowal and love, which includes all of creation, including us. You have to unravel it according to the similarities of properties with Him. Therefore, you are called Isra-El because you want to achieve the same state, the same values of the Creator.

The Torah, “Leviticus,” 23:01 – 23:2:  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: The Lord’s appointed [holy days] that you shall designate as holy occasions. These are My appointed [holy days]. 

Holy convocation at different levels, this is the holidays.

Before you come together, people are seriously engaged in a spiritual work, trying to unite. This period is called the distance between the holidays. A parish of the unified masses to a new higher degree of unity among themselves epitomizes a holiday.

The Torah describes what sacrifices were made and what level of egoism over which people had to ascend in order to create a particular style of sacred assembly, which is called the Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot, etc.

Question: From a spiritual point of view, towards what point does the chain of events lead a person?

Answer: Towards reaching complete perfection. Of all the holidays, there are two most obscure: Shavuot and Purim. It would seem, especially the holiday of Shavuot (the receiving of the Torah), which lasts only one day and during which they only read very small portions to pray and they eat dairy foods. Receiving the Torah is an enormous celebration! What could be more important than that?  The custom to eat dairy food that day comes from the fact that it symbolizes the property to give, to distribute the property of the Torah.

We treat Purim as some children’s holiday. These are the two most hidden holidays because they have to be reached by very serious internal efforts. As a rule, the higher, deeper, and  spiritually stronger some states are, so they are more discreet, hidden, and humble .

Comment: We always talk a lot about the holiday of Passover, the exodus from Egypt, but this is only the beginning.

Answer: This is the beginning of all spiritual states. And besides, this is the beginning of the year, the beginning of the month, and the beginning of any calculation in spiritual work.

Kabbalah talks only about what’s going on inside us. The terms “Israel” and the “nations of the world” stand for our internal properties. However, we use these definitions as if we talk about corporeality. Yet, these notions never imply this realm. Rather, they refer to the internal qualities of a human being.

Kabbalists use common, plain, earthly words to describe spirituality because there are no other words in our vocabulary. Even if we saw the other realm, we would not be able to find accurate words to express our impressions. We would fail to give names to the phenomena that take place there.

If we were to write the titles of all objects in the room on post-it notes, there would be lamps, doors, windows, and bookcases since each thing has a name. If we correct our properties, we would move the wall that separates us from spirituality. We would remove the wall that hides the upper world from us, but, we still wouldn’t find the right words to describe what we actually see there.

It is impossible to find the correct words to name the forces and actions associated with the other realm. How would you explain to others what you saw in spirituality? Let’s say somebody asks you: “Please, tell me a little about what’s there! I am eager to know!” You wouldn’t be able to describe a thing!

Kabbalistic books explain the unexplainable. Kabbalists were the ones who found a solution. We all live in this world, both Kabbalists and common people. We all know this reality.

So, Kabbalists have said: “We will tell you about spirituality.” They wrote books about the spiritual dimension: The Torah, the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud, Mishnah, The Zohar, The Study of the Ten Sefirot. All these books are called sacred; they are not ordinary books because they describe the upper world.

However, we cannot describe spirituality using spiritual words since there are no words there. That’s why these books tell us stories as if they are happening in this world, when in fact, all of them are about the upper reality.

Spirituality is parallel to this world. It is a dimension of forces, desires, impressions, and sensations. It is a domain of feelings! However, the feelings there are not egoistic as they are here on this planet. Rather, they derive from the property of bestowal that doesn’t exist in this world. These are the sensations of love, bestowal, unity, reciprocity, only positive feelings.

The amazing system called Jethro is part of the general spiritual system that includes egoistic attributes as well as several altruistic attributes that are totally the opposite.

The connection between Jethro and Moses was kept through Zipporah and the children.

Question: Why was Moses allowed to marry Zipporah, Jethro’s daughter? Is it because the nation wasn’t divided into tribes then?

Answer: We mustn’t look at that from the perspective of division. All the biblical figures throughout history took wives from hostile tribes. Jacob, for example, married Rachel and Leah who were the daughters of his greatest enemy Laban.

Jethro doesn’t support or side with Moses either, but there is a very clear connection between them as Jethro is totally immersed in Pharaoh (the ego) with one foot and, thanks to that, can be connected to Moses.

The question is about what Moses did with Jethro for forty years. Why did he need this intermediate level? Forty years is the level of Bina on every level.

Having studied forty years with Pharaoh, Moses spends the next forty years with Jethro and only then does he spend the same number of years with the nation of Israel.

Question: If Pharaoh is the higher level of study, why must he study from Jethro afterward?

Answer: It is in order to know how to change to the attribute of bestowal. A true connection is formed between opposite attributes, just as was the case with Jacob and Laban’s daughters. What is more, Jacob had concubines and servants who also had his children. This may seem like an unclear mess, but this is how the world of desires is created, and this is how they are tightly connected.

Ruth, the mother of King David’s dynasty, belonged to Moab, which was a nation that hated the Israelis. David’s heir is the Messiah Son of David, who will bring the entire world to unity many years later at the end of time.

An ordinary person who doesn’t see the whole picture doesn’t see the beginning and the end, the entrance and the exit of this system. He doesn’t understand why it closes this way, but the integral system closes precisely in this way.

Our time is called the days of the Messiah. About this it is written in Mishnah Sotah 9:15: With the footsteps of the Messiah, insolence will increase. This means that very difficult, heavy, receptive Kelim (desires) will be revealed, great hatred will come into the world, and the war of Gog and Magog will break out in all its strength. The idea is that after Tzimtzum Aleph (the first restriction), and after the decision that the Tachton (lower one) wants to receive only in order to bestow, the entire Olam Ein Sof (world of Infinity) is arranged according to the Masachim (screens), according to the ability of the Tachton to bestow to the Ein Sof, which is the Elyon (upper one).

The worlds are arranged in the following order: Adam Kadmon, Atzilut, Beria, Yetzira, Assiya. Adam Kadmon is Keter. Atzilut is Hochma and GAR de Bina (upper half of Bina). Beriya is ZAT de Bina (lower half of Bina). Yetzira is Zeir Anpin and Assiya is Malchut.

After Tzimtzum Bet (the second restriction) and the Shevira (shattering), it is possible to work only with the Kelim of bestowal, which are Keter, Hochma, and the GAR de Bina. When we raise these Kelim from BYA (Beriya, Yetzira, Assiya) to Atzilut, they are called Yashar-El (straight to Creator), Israel. These desires are easier to work with and it is possible to correct them.

But it is impossible to correct the difficult desires because they are too heavy and it is difficult to lift them. This is possible only with their connection with other desires. But without joining the difficult, heavy, dense Kelim to Galgalta ve Eynaim, the Galgalta ve Eynaim are incomplete, they will lack their Achoriim (back), which is the AHP.

These desires of the AHP fell below the Parsa (border) and are found in the captivity of desires called the nations of the world. As long as the type of desires of the nations of the world, which are called the children, the Kelim found below, do not begin to awaken and do not illuminate the Kelim of the higher AHP that fell into them, this AHP cannot rise and join the Kelim of the higher Galgalta ve Eynaim.

This means that Israel cannot escape from the exile because the nations of the world hold onto them. Or, it is possible to say that the fathers, which are Galgalta ve Eynaim, cannot grow because their AHP are found below within the Kelim of the Galgalta ve Eynaim of the children who have not released them and don’t awaken them.

When the AHP of the Elyon fell into the Galgalta ve Eynaim of the Tachton, they gave us the ability to bestow to the Elyon and be connected to the great Kabbalists, the lofty souls who already corrected themselves and are now waiting as we continue to correct them.

All of the AHP of all the higher levels fell down to the lower levels. To be awakened, and thereby awaken the AHP of the Elyon as well, depends on the Galgalta ve Eynaim of the Tachton into which the AHP of the Elyon fell.

The AHP of the Elyon, which is found within the Galgalta ve Eynaim of the Tachton, is called MAN, prayer. And so we awaken the MAN when we awaken our Galgalta ve Eynaim. But we do all of this in order to give contentment to the Creator, to the Elyon. For us, the higher level is always the Creator.

This is called giving contentment to the Creator: the awakening of your own Galgalta ve Eynaim so that you will adhere to the AHP of the Elyon that fell into you, makes it possible to really make a single Partzuf. With this, you awaken it to ascend. This is called that you are raising MAN, a prayer.

The Galgalta ve Eynaim of the Tachton enter into the AHP of the Elyon like a drop of semen enters the uterus, and clings like a fetus within the uterus that wants to be developed there. In this way, it obligates the uterus, the AHP of the Elyon, to rise up and receive a double Light, which is called, Baba Batra 124a: The firstborn takes twice as much. The firstborn receives twice as much so he can pass it on to us as well.

Question: There are 24 books in the Tanakh: the Torah, the Books of Prophets, the Holy Scriptures. Why are they called holy? Aren’t they written in ink and on paper by earthly people of flesh and blood?

Answer: Their authors didn’t write about this world. Rather, they are written about a system of governance of this realm. Our reality is run from a higher level.

Our world, like a computer, is controlled by some operating system. Everything is under its control: atoms, molecules, the inanimate, vegetative, animate nature, and people.

Everything that exists in this world is governed by the two forces of attraction and repulsion, plus and minus. There is nothing else! This explains why we must understand exactly what impacts us and figure out whether we can somehow influence the forces that oversee us.

Is it possible to improve our destiny? If we knew beforehand where these two forces were leading us, could we rearrange our future? All of humanity constantly dreams about what the next day will bring.

Contemporary society has become very powerful, but at the same time we feel helpless because we don’t know what to strive for. In this respect, the books of the Tanakh are extremely helpful because they describe the entire system of governance.

Imagine owning a machine or device that you don’t know how to operate, nor do you have you any idea what it is for. All of a sudden, you are given an instruction booklet with diagrams and descriptions, including the functionality of each button like instructions for a mobile phone.

Humanity has developed to such extent that it must get acquainted with its system of governance. That’s why the wisdom of Kabbalah is being revealed.

Question: Where is the governing system located?

Answer: It is inside us. In the end, we will discover our internal management system through which we will change and reorient our lives. This system is called a soul.

Question: How are holy books connected with our internal control system?

Answer: The Scriptures tell us about the structure in general, as well as its parts that are inside us. The Tanakh is a holy book because it explains how our nature operates and particularly the way humans are managed.

If we understand what this book talks about, we can change our destiny for the better, reach higher goals, and attain other dimensions.

Then, not only we will correct our poor lives and improve our earthly existence, but we will also ascend to states beyond this world. The Tanakh is full of surprises!

Question: The issue of unity and connection has never been so dominant. Even the parents of the three boys who were kidnapped last year keep saying how much power they received from the unity and felt that their problem was everyone’s problem. So why is the unity we feel among the people these days not as strong as it was before?

Answer: We simply see the lack of connection in a much higher resolution and in much greater accuracy. Instead of what previously seemed correct, the scale has become greater now and we see that there is no connection at present.

Question: How can we prove to a person that outcomes, such as the kidnappings, can be changed by actions of connection?

Answer: You want to show a person a clear and direct connection and that if he brings about connection in a certain place, it will lead to connection in another place. You will never be able to do that.

But there are many cases in life when we are sure that our actions help although we don’t see a direct connection. Therefore, people go out to demonstrate and attend public meetings. I cannot show a person the connection between things that he cannot perceive with his senses, since this is the revelation of the Creator’s actions to the created being. He has not yet reached such a level since he doesn’t have the senses that allow him to see that.

There can be a very level headed, rational person who is not carried away by emotions and who can say that all these actions of connection are totally useless and that the search for the kidnapped boys was a military matter and that it had nothing to do with him. If he didn’t feel any connection to that, there is nothing we could do. In order to see the connection, he has to correct his desires so that they are in order to bestow and then he will discover within them to what extent the upper Light is related to these desires. Therefore, we must simply draw these people to connection through different explanations that show them that the connection is beneficial and that through this, we could have helped free the boys and help them get back home safely.

If a person agrees to participate in a workshop, we have to make him feel that a special force awakens in the connection between us and that it can do something beyond our ordinary nature. It can change the current situation. When a person feels the force of connection, it will impress him beyond his current level. We can explain that we are all connected to one another, that we are all in one system, that all of humanity is connected and that if you correct yourself, you insert the force of correction into everyone.

In fact, before the revelation, it is impossible to prove anything to a person, but we see that people study for years and don’t leave due to the expectation for the revelation. They believe that the revelation will occur sometime since an illumination from a distance sustains them. A person who has participated in a workshop or a circle will also feel such an illumination from a distance. The feeling that these actions can really affect and change the situation awakens in him, since the Light operates on him.

There is hope. Otherwise I wouldn’t gather people. I am already committed to them this way and I make them my partners. I cannot show them the world the way I see it and they don’t know that we open the way for the Light that will fix everything. It will not only successfully solve problems such as kidnappings, but will also correct the whole world. We will ascend to the top, become more respected and actually become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
