A New Global Empire

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Yuval Noah Harari, author of Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind and  lecturer, Department of History, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.): “From the 2nd century BCE, most of the people lived in empires. In the 20th century, the dominant political ideal was the ideal of the nation-state: sovereign, and the people were the source of all power. The supreme duty of the state was to defend the interests of the national collective.

“Accordingly, the idea that there should be as many independent states as nations in the world emerged.

“In the 21st century, nationalism is rapidly losing ground. Separate empires remain in the past. In the future, people will live in a one world empire. A unified government for the whole Earth awaits us in the near future.

“More and more people are coming to the conclusion that the only legitimate source of political power is humanity, rather than separate nations, and that the main objective of the policy should be the interests of the whole human race and upholding human rights. In this case, the existence of 200 nation-states is a hindrance.

“The world is still politically fragmented, but the real autonomy of nation-states is rapidly declining. No country is able to pursue an independent economic policy, to declare and wage war on a whim, and even carry out its own internal policies.

”Countries are increasingly influenced by global markets, international corporations and NGOs, and international public opinion and a common judicial system are becoming more influential.

“States are forced to reckon with the international standards of financial conduct, environmental policy and justice. Powerful flows of capital, labor and information are spreading throughout the world, transforming it, and the boundaries and positions of individual nation-states carry less importance.

“The world empire is being created before our eyes, and it will be ruled not by a separate state or ethnic group – this new world would be managed by the multinational elite, and common culture and common interests will bind it together.”

My Comment: It is gratifying to see how higher knowledge begins to gradually settle in the minds of the people of our world. The correct perspective of development is being revealed to them, according to the goal of nature to bring all its parts to a single, synergistic whole. Our fate depends on how we can sensibly and actively participate in this process.

World Economic Forecast

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (M. Khazin):During 2014 the US GDP growth was disclosed; however, it was exaggerated.

“In order for an economic growth to be steady and long term, it is necessary for the end-product demand (demand of households) to begin to increase. However, such expenditures continue to decline.

“All hopes to stop the crisis are in vain, and in 2015 the US stock market bubble will collapse. The crisis will begin just like in September 2008, with a sharp drop in stock data feeds, and the stability of the banking system will become questionable, and whose assets will depreciate sharply, while liabilities (obligations) will remain.

“Further options:

  1. ISIL will bring down the Saudi regime and will begin a joint ‘Sunni campaign’ against Israel. A blow to households, the real sector, and the role of the dollar will rise sharply. The US will enter into a state of social and political chaos.
  2. The US and the entire world banking system will go bankrupt, and there will be no help from anywhere.
  3. The financial elite will start a mass emission of the dollar in order to save the financial system. The main consequence for the economy will be the ruin of enterprises.

“The destruction of the WTO will deliver a blow to the EU, China, Japan and Korea that sell many high-tech products in the US. Today, pro-American elitists are in power in these countries. The destruction of the main source of income associated with the US and the dollar will cause devastating inter-elite disassembly.

“Counter-elitists, rushing into office, will focus on national independence that will extend to nationalism and anti-Americanism. These processes will define the course of events more so than the actual economic crisis.

“The financial elite cannot accept the responsibility for the crisis, so it will create a “force majeure” by using Islam in the developed countries and the Middle East.

“There are three approaches to the world order: satisfactory, somewhat satisfactory (needing reform), and unsatisfactory (must be completely destroyed). Political Islam today does not accept compromises and is ready to fight to the end for the destruction of the current world order in the absence of a positive program.

“At the same time, the global economic crisis increases the cravings of people for justice, especially those who have suffered from the crisis. And it turns out that the only force today that offers something to the world is a political Islam. Therefore, in 2015 we are waiting for a dramatic increase in the influence of political Islam throughout the world, primarily in the Middle East and the European Union.”

My Comment: The picture is incomplete because the author does not take into account the purpose of human development, the rise to the level of affinity with the Creator in the desire to give and to love.  Nature drives us to even greater suffering until we realize that there is no escape and that we must change our egoistic nature to an altruistic one in order to survive.

This realization depends on the dissemination and mastering of Kabbalah, the method of correction of our nature, among the people of Israel, and then around the world. Otherwise, we will again find ourselves again in a period of suffering, and again, through the decades, we will arrive at the same choice.

Justice And Freedom

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Petko Ganchev, professor and chairman, Geopolitical Center of Eurasia-Sofia): “… Real freedom is inconceivable without justice and real justice is impossible without freedom. If freedom is a recognized need, then justice must be regarded not as equality in rewarding different people, but as but as equality of opportunities.

“Thus, real freedom must be regarded as a condition for justice, and real justice as a form of exercising of freedom.

“Capitalism with its freedom of the strong provides an opportunity for the strong to win at the expense of the weak and is unfair and not free society.

“Socialism with its justice and freedom for everyone – one was free, and all others were equal in their lack of freedom, was a totalitarian society. It did not encourage free initiative and because of the inability to carry out radical reforms it collapsed.

“If during the Great Depression (1929-1933), the crisis affected only the developed capitalist countries, but now the crisis is global because all the countries of the world are connected.

“Contemporary globalization is an objective and natural process, but it occurs in a manner favorable to the Western world, primarily to the United States. Of the 500 leading multinational world companies, more than half are of the USA. All the world’s leading institutions the IMF, World Bank, WTO, NATO are the tools of the USA, and the EU is the US protectorate.

“In the 1990s, the USA attempted to establish a unipolar world, destroyed all the institutions and structures of the welfare state and social market economy of the EU, as well as all the social protection and justice systems of the former socialist countries. As a result, the global financial and economic crisis erupted in 2008, and it has no end in sight.

“As a result, the world has come to great threats and challenges, and it is necessary to save civilization by transition from a unipolar to a multipolar world: the United Nations needs to take over the management of the world with representation of all the countries through a world parliament.

“It is a long and difficult road, but it is necessary. The salvation of humanity is in its own hands, so we need to act.”

My Comments: The wishes are correct, but it is possible to realize them only on the condition of change in the nature of man from egoistic to altruistic. New properties of bestowal and love will tell us how to act. Otherwise, we will return to the red terror of the past.

The Peaceful Way Towards Socialism

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Anatoly Wasserman, columnist): “With the coming of the the year 2022, socialism will be more profitable than capitalism. This means that it would be possible to implement the recommendation given by Karl Marx in 1862 to redeem the entire economy from the bourgeoisie, giving each owner that which he likes more.

“The range of problems that capitalism creates is not limited by questions of productivity. Its disadvantages are questioning the very existence of the world and humanity. Therefore, it is possible that the transition to socialism will be justified not economically, but as the way of self-preservation.

“Therefore, in the coming years, we should talk about the degree of danger that capitalism presents to the very existence of humanity, with plenty of evidence of this danger having been accumulated. It is necessary to explain to people involved in business that survival is in their own interest, and that they should become agents of socialism for the sake of themselves.”

My Comment: The transition happens in a much simpler way. That part of humanity with a point in the heart applies efforts in their unity, causing  the influence of the surrounding Light (Ohr Makif), which produces changes in them and in all people. This Ohr Makif is responsible for our progress, and through the method of Integral Education and upbringing, we accelerate its effect on us. With this, a good transition to the next level of human development takes place.

For A Leader There Can Be No Personal Interests

Dr. Michael LaitmanA Product of the People

Question: In recent years a sensation has been created in society that the personal interests of leaders on various levels stand above public interests. Scandals erupt everywhere and a multitude of books have been published about the behavior of the authorities.

If in the past it had seemed that in the case of a clear conflict of personal and public interests, the latter were the winners. Before use today, however, as far as it seems, an opposite picture is depicted.

It is clear that the growing ego doesn’t let the leaders rest. Each one of them, among the rest, wants to enter at least a small corner in history and inscribe his name on its tablets. Many efforts are devoted to the struggle to attribute these or other accomplishments to themselves. More than that, decisions are often made with the thought about the recognition that they can bring.

So what motivates the leaders today? How can they integrate personal and public interests into their activities?

Answer: I don’t think that the leaders, in this sense, are any worse than the people. After all, they grew out of this group. Suppose that a former military commander or factory manager or department head decides to go into politics. Essentially, he is a product of the people and not from a royal dynasty. He learned in the general educational system, finished school and university, and lives like everyone else.

Now he stands before the people because he has a stronger ego and more energy. In addition, individuals from the environment encourage and motivate him to continue to grow and there are also those who help him with money and connections.

In general, behind every person that imagines himself as our leader stand interests that are waiting to profit from his coming to power.

A Leader Without “Baggage”

Question: Is there a need for a special system of education for leaders?

Answer: Certainly. But this is not from the present schooling that exists for leaders, the actual results of which are not convincing.

The problem is otherwise. To be a true leader, a person must rise above his ego. He must be faithful to the people and even the world, which is not heard of today. First of all, he must absolutely be detached from personal interests. In this context, a street cleaner could be a better leader if he has an inclination for the common good.

In other words, to lead people correctly, someone is needed who is ready to do everything required for the sake of the people and someone who has no personal but only public interests. It is possible to check this in a very simple way. A person is immediately ready to get rid of all his baggage except for that part that he and society recognize as useful to the people.

Question: What must a true leader be ready to give up?

Answer: Everything. He would be ready to quit the position of prime minister and become a simple worker if this were in everyone’s interest. The good of the people must be the highest value for him. But we see an opposite picture. People who have already undermined the people’s trust in them and who have already found themselves under public contempt, have presented before everyone their nothingness. In spite of the lack of understanding and limitations, time after time and year after year, they climb higher.

Leaders are held strongly by their chairs, benefits, and glory. They are ready to satisfy their ambitions at any price, even though in the end, the people pay the price. This is doubly dangerous for Israel, which is under a constant external threat of annihilation.

How Does One Protect A Nation From Dissolution?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Have I understood correctly that in the physical world and in the spiritual world envy operates differently? If in the physical world I want to annihilate the object of my envy, in spiritual work it works the other way around. I don’t know what spirituality is, but I want to feel it, so I yearn to get this through the object of my envy.

Answer: Indeed, the more envious you are of the spiritual desire of your friend, the more you benefit.

Question: I was a child of the Soviet Union. It turned out that a yearning was awakened in us for such things, which, in principle, were closer to spiritual than physical prosperity. So was this the right direction?

Answer: In the Soviet Union, the  correct understanding is education based on our egoistic desires and physical aspirations to become the strongest nation, to rule the world, to manage it, and show everyone the whip. If the leadership of the country had acted correctly, it would have been engaged with education for people and would not have aspired only to better manage people.

The problem is in this. According to what Baal HaSulam wrote, everything was organized here for the sake of a lofty egoistic goal and not for the sake of an altruistic goal directed toward the Creator. This is because the Creator is, in principle, all of us united into a general single whole. This is the whole of creation, all of humanity and all of nature in full mutual bestowal. The characteristic called the Creator is specifically discovered here. Outside of us, the Creator doesn’t exist.

If the Soviet Union had existed for this, it would have educated the people correctly and not in order to be the strongest in order to oppress others, instill fear, and demand respect. If there had not been an immense ego standing at the head of belligerent politics, then certainly everything would have been otherwise. But since all of this was for the sake of big egos, not for the people, but for the leadership of the people itself, everything crumbled.

And it is certainly crumbling now with an even greater noise since arrogance has been rising: “We! We! We!” “We will show everybody.” “We are going our own way.” “We are the smartest, the strongest,” and so forth. All of this will very rapidly collapse. A nation cannot exist like this and it will come to Nazism. The fall of the Ukraine is a sign of what can happen to Russia. And all of this is because they put a very great, powerful ego at the head.

In no way do I wish anything bad for this nation. I consider it my homeland to a certain degree, but it has taken a completely wrong direction. Neither the congress nor the huge national ego can keep the country from disintegrating.

This is absolutely against every outlook, the entire flow of nature and every line of development. And so it will disappear very rapidly as if it never existed. The Soviet regime existed for 70 years, and it will all pass away very quickly now.

We Must Embrace Nature In Order To Move Forward

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe early elections in Israel are accompanied by a serious crisis of confidence between the public and its elected representatives. It is no accident that one of the headlines in the newspapers was “The Knesset has Dissolved.” Yet the members of the Knesset voted for dissolution because they understood that the confidence of the public has dropped in recent years.

The public feels that politicians are cut off from them and this arouses disappointment, especially among young people. Many don’t see a reason for going to vote because they don’t expect any change for the better. Few think that the elections will truly help us solve the issues of housing, the cost of living, social relations, and security.

When people hear the campaign promises, they know that immediately after the elections everyone will forget about them until the next election. All we have left is a feeling of bitterness due to the lack of the ability to influence anything. Even the [Israeli] president recently expressed his concern about people not not going out to vote.

Clearly, a lack of faith in the leadership of the nation and the party that is elected undermines the foundations of democracy and has serious consequences. In the last decade, this phenomenon has spread among many nations in the West. And accordingly, fewer and fewer citizens go to the polls to vote, with the percentage of voters going down by double digits, which is a significant change.

Question: How did we arrive at a situation like this?

Answer: First of all, we must understand that the development of the world is subject to a particular program. Even though we are not aware of it, the course of history indicates this.

Sure, there were prominent figures like Napoleon, Lenin, Hitler, and Einstein who contributed greatly to history. That is, there are people through whom this program has been revealed in the world. But in general, the program continues to work, and it makes no difference who sits in Congress, in the Duma, in the Knesset, in the Majlis, or any other elected parliament.

After all, we are within a system called nature, and to the degree that we investigate it, we discover a rigid immutable law, without any concessions to anyone no matter how much one is sorry or concerned. Ultimately, nature relates simply to the levels of the still, vegetative, animate, and human, and has activated them to bring about a specific purpose from the beginning of creation until its end.

So when we choose people like these or others, it is up to us to understand that, in fact, this doesn’t change the program of nature. Rather what is important is how much these people understand the general program of nature and know how to bring the society to accord with it. This is precisely the place to introduce change, to transform our lives to become easier and more pleasant. This is because if we accommodate ourselves to this program, we will have fewer troubles.

But on the other hand, if we don’t understand the program, or even deny its existence, we will always stumble across unpleasant phenomena. And it is no wonder. Can we go against nature? Because of our lack of knowledge, we try to go against it, and we decided to build Communism and are quick to perform social experiments, but all these steps must be derived from nature. Without recognition of its laws, we are almost surely wrong in all of our activities. As a result, we waste a lot of energy, money, and resources, and, in spite of it all, we cannot realize our programs because they are not adjusted to the program of nature.

Question: What happens when we go against nature?

Answer: We find ourselves in trouble. For example, the politicians suggest completely contradictory solutions and one doesn’t listen to the other, leading us to a crisis. This is not to say that the elected public officials don’t want to or cannot help, but that they don’t bring their programs into coordination with the program of nature. This is particularly so in our time. For in the last 30 to 50 years, humanity has gradually reached a state in which it must intentionally and independently participate in its development. It is up to a person to be aware of the program of nature, to investigate it, and accordingly organize himself and society.

For thousands of years and up until the last half of the previous century, nature didn’t ask us how we wanted to develop and didn’t obligate us to develop according to its goal from an understanding of the program and its purpose. Rather, we were like a herd that advances with the help of blows, problems and pressures of various kinds like natural disasters, wars, social conflicts, the high cost of living, unemployment, family problems, and so forth.

But now we have reached a situation in which we must rise to the level of Adam (Man), who is a creature whose head begins to be similar to the program of nature. He begins to understand and attain creation, and from beginning to end, he sees the causes and effects and the possibility of proper participation in a process that runs through nature. Otherwise, this process will pass over us like a steamroller, “in its time,” and we will have no escape.

Therefore, it is up to us to learn the program and advance through the way of “I will hasten it,” and accordingly we take proactive measures.

This means that we ourselves will change, reaching a level in which we understand what nature demands from us. Then, according to the pressures of nature, we will respond immediately, time after time, and advance in a harmonious embrace with it.

In principle, this approach has been relevant since the end of the 19th century, but from the middle of the previous century, it was necessary and in the last 20 to 30 years, it has become obvious.

As a citizen, who can I vote for? Can I rely on someone when I see that the ritual of elections in the world brings nothing but new problems? Every leader promises that he is ready to help people in every way possible. Let’s say this is right, and he is truly ready, but he doesn’t know how to do it.

So advancement will be in a particular direction that is independent of the prime minister or some president whom we curse. The crisis of confidence among the people towards their leaders is a natural phenomenon. And the problem is not in the leaders themselves. Even if they were truly committed to the people and their welfare, their plans still aren’t feasible.

There is only one way to succeed, and that is if leaders and the people will learn the essence of the question: towards what are we advancing under the pressure of nature? Then we would understand that it could be that it is not worthwhile for us to fight directly against the cost of living, the deterioration of education, the crisis in the family, and against corruption. It could be that we find a solution on an absolutely different plane. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, in such a , we would solely and only take care of the social issue.

Even today in the parties and in many organizations social issues are their top priority. But even if they understand that the leverage found here possesses immense potential, where can they find how to activate it? This is possible only if we open nature up and investigate it deeply.

So, even someone who wants to make changes for the better doesn’t succeed. As usual, the intentions are good, but the actions and their results are the opposite. We see this in regard to the last term of the government. A number of ministers were determined to succeed, but at the end, they entered into such great crisis that today all of the people ridicule and despise them.

The time has come for the people to understand the reason for the despair, why they despise their leaders and why there is a crisis of confidence in those who represent the people. We are already approaching this understanding.

For this, people must know what is really happening. It is up to them to understand that it is not right to punish and reject the politicians who sit in the Knesset, in the government, and in the various organizations. First of all, it is up to us to go back to school and learn the program of nature.

Humanity, and in particular the people of Israel, is entering into a new era. Today we must understand how nature is leading us and toward what goal. What is the shape, pattern, and model that our society must accept; how do we adapt ourselves to it, and accordingly, how must society change year after year?

We will change society ourselves and not through the blows of nature. In today’s situation, people must purposefully participate in these changes.

There is no escaping this. We cannot be released from this burden by holding the leaders and elected representatives accountable. None of them are ready for this task. First of all, it is up to us to learn what nature requires from us. There are people who call this force the divine or higher power because it is higher than us. This is because if a tsunami were to come, it would be beyond our abilities to deal with it. In other words, it is up to us to know how to behave in regard to it.

Our goal is to begin to learn, understand, and become familiar with the situation. This belongs to the officials elected by the people and those who elected them. We will then see which of us are ready to connect. Indeed, studies show that we need to connect “as one person with one heart” and not divide into many camps that devour one another.

There must be a completely opposite trend and a new perception that inspires people who are ready to correctly answer the questions that nature presents to us. In fact, all of the questions that nature places before us are solved through connection.

But if we continue to act according to the old methods, we can expect many more difficult problems than before. For the process is moving forward, and if we still have not adapted to the program of nature, we will endure much more suffering.

The Departure Of 2014

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What are we leaving behind in 2014, and have we advanced during this past year towards building a more just society in Israel?

Answer: I think that good changes took place in Israel. People finally began to realize that we cannot expect positive changes from anyone but from ourselves.

If we begin to get closer to each other to better understand each other and unite, in this we will find the key to salvation, greater strength and greater justice.

After all, by uniting we can solve practically all problems, even up to the level of security problems. Everyone was talking about this for several months after the operation “Protective Edge.”

I feel that this year was something special. Even the people of Israel are beginning to say that unity is power.

And today, when the people of Israel are preparing for elections, I see that what prevails are not questions of security and finance, but questions of people’s unity. Although the politicians try to raise these questions in order to direct people at what is beneficial to them, instead the people ask, “What is happening to us, why are we today still in a fragmented state?”

Who Should We Elect?

Question: Which events of the past year could you define as the most joyful and the most terrible?

Answer: I judge a little differently than everyone else because I look at what is happening in terms of the system that manages this world. I think that it was a pretty good year. Peoples’ minds started to change radically. People began to understand that they cannot expect any favors from anywhere.

Question: Even from the politicians who are faced with new elections? How do you relate to them?

Answer: In no way. I know that it is not in their power to do something good for their people, and people rely on them because they do not understand that to be a politician means to be the greatest egoist. Indeed, our entire society is purely egoistical.

And those who reach such a height, by using others as stepping stones, are the greatest egoists. Therefore, we cannot expect anything from them. Maybe before the election, they will remember the people, but in principle, they think only about those who support them in order for them to remain in power longer. So, I do not see anything new in their flirting with the people before the election.

I see the results of the departing year not in terms of the politicians’ actions, but in how much we were able to explain to people what the wisdom of Kabbalah is, what it says, how it sees the future of humanity, and how through it, we can truly manage the world.

Indeed, politicians rule over nothing and no one. It was even said in the Torah that the hearts of the rulers of the world are in the hands of the Creator. Therefore, it is unreasonable to link our future with them.

But the people, to the extent of the connection between them, can really change their destiny. But it depends on their unity.

Anti-Semitism Forces Us to Listen

Question: During this year, how much did you manage to do for the unity of the people? What goals do you consider fulfilled and which are not?

Answer: This year we achieved good relations with Jewish organizations around the world. Since anti-Semitism put serious pressure on the Jews living abroad, many Jewish communities began to listen to us.

Previously, this had not happened. But due to increased anti-Semitism, they changed their attitude towards us because they saw how effectively we work with the masses.

In September of this year, we visited the American Jewish Congress. Prior to that, I appeared on several US television channels, had an interview with Larry King, the main subject of which was anti-Semitism. This is a very sore subject, especially for him.

It comes down to the role of Jews in the world: how they will be able to play a positive role in it and protect themselves from growing anti-Semitism.

Also this year, prestigious newspapers in England, France, Germany, Italy, the US, Canada, and other leading countries of the world published my article “Who Are You, People of Israel?”

This is also a breakthrough, after which it is much easier for us to speak to the press. Now, Time magazine is waiting for our next article and other publishing houses have offered space for our publications in their newspapers.

What Does the Well-being of the World Depend On?

Question: Why did the interest of the world’s key publications in your materials appear this year?

Answer: In principle, the world is in a state of deadlock and no one has a plan of action. We see that governments of all countries do not know what to do.

They are trying to find some reasonable path in the world and humanity’s existence. But neither philosophy nor science gives an answer. Everything humans are engaged in is in a strange state of crisis.

The crisis is a very interesting phenomenon. At first, it appeared to be more or less clear, but now it is not. The problem is that humanity has not risen above its egoism, and here a manifestation of the crisis occurs at different levels: in the collapse of the family, the falling birth rate, unemployment, and in the general decline in all spheres of human activity.

There are no happy countries. On the contrary, everything is disintegrating and gradually crumbling like a house of cards. The well-being of the world depends on how well we start to interact with each other and with nature. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us.

About Elections And The Great Benefit Of Unity

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Naturally there are many political parties and many opinions in every country, but the constant struggle between them over power harms society. How can people who have different opinions be united so that they can work together?

Answer: Unity is possible only among people who have a common goal, such as the wellbeing of society or the actual existence of the country, which is stronger than any disagreements and self-interests. If we are under an enemy attack and there is an external threat, we all unite, thus forgetting the hatred we felt towards one another previously. It is because the external threat extinguishes all our differences and we all fight against a common enemy.

But the moment the war is over and we have managed to defeat the enemy and remove the threat, our ego wakes up and once again we begin to fight with one another.

Question: How is it possible to unite in the absence of an external threat, in peacetime, despite the differences between us and the disputes over different opinions and interests.

Answer: This is possible if we see such a great advantage in unity that without it, our lives would be doomed to absolute failure just like when facing a ruthless enemy. In that case, we will be able to unite all the political parties into one.

We can either be saved from one of two things: either to be saved from a common disaster or looking forward to a great benefit that is perceived to be greater than our lives otherwise it would be impossible to unite. This means that people will fight for what is most crucial for them, and will see it as the greatest success in his life.

People should realize that without unity, everything will be ruined. However, this is currently possible only when there is an external threat in the time of war. If one of the major parties wins an election, like in America, for example, where there are Democrats and Republicans, the victory of one party means that the other party has lost, and they can only unite in order to defeat a common enemy.

But such unity can be sustained only on one condition. The moment it is clear that the enemy has been defeated, the struggle between them would immediately restart. In order for them to unite not under the fear of an external threat, they must be shown that there is a lot to gain, a bright future that promises unity and the end of a destructive struggle.

It is due to their overcoming their quarrel and coming to mutual agreement that they can reach a special level of life, pleasure, honor, power, profit, and the greatest gains.

A person must see a great advantage in unity. He will agree to it only if he worries about his existence in the face of an enemy or in expecting a huge gain through unity.

Therefore, people must be introduced to integral education so that they will see that by behaving in a certain manner, by suppressing the ego and uniting with others in order to work together, they will all receive an amazing infinite gain.

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, “Exile and Redemption”: Hence, I hereby propose to the House of Israel to say to our troubles, “Enough!” and at the very least, make a human calculation regarding these adventures that they have inflicted us time and time again, and here in our country, as well. We wish to start our own policy, as we have no hope of clutching at the ground as a nation as long as we do not accept our holy Torah without any extenuations.

Baal HaSulam calls for an investigation into the matter to be convinced that we simply have no choice, otherwise we cannot get rid of our troubles. Even a mundane egoistic calculation is enough. The infinite stream of troubles will not leave us any glimmer of hope for something good. There is no escape from this route.

From a rational point of view, we do not have even a slight chance of reducing the suffering, not to mention getting rid of it, as long as we haven’t begun to carry out what is required of us.

Only then, and not before then, will we be in a different situation that will be completely opposite of the present situation. It is only in this way that we succeed in departing from our endless problems.

This conclusion is correct and valid even if we want a good life based on security, well-being, and health. In the “Writings of the Last Generation” Baal HaSulam adds: This nation is very poor, and its inhabitants will suffer much in the future; for without a doubt they or their children will gradually be uprooted from this land in the future and nobody will be left except a negligible amount who in the end will assimilate among the Arabs.

Question: How do we transmit this message to the nation, which again has plunged into the turmoil of early elections with all of its slogans and promises?

Answer: Our approach is much more realistic. Ultimately, behind the slogans, it is difficult to find fundamental differences between the candidates. So why don’t they agree about rotating this position among themselves? They could divide their tenure into equal periods of time and in turn succeed each other. Along the way, we wouldn’t feel any difference.

I am not joking. After all, rotation of this type is intended for the purpose that competitors would help each other for the duration of their tenure so it wouldn’t be important who is “on top” at the moment. An alliance like this would bring much more benefit to everyone. After all sides sign a suitable agreement, they would stop poking sticks in each other’s wheels. And so the best that people are able to do today is to go out and declare, “Enough! Stop this mess, we don’t believe your promises anyway. Yes, certainly you want to invest all of your energy for the good of Israel and this area in general. But we don’t want the details and don’t intend to vote for anyone. We choose unity.”

In my eyes, this is the only solution. It is not as impossible to realize it as it may seem.

The rotation will not extend just to the Prime Minister, but also to the seats of the ministers. As a result of this, all the political camps will work in cooperation and will support each other in order to get support at the time of their victory. Imagine that all of them start serving the people through mutual agreement.

This will be possible only when the people are truly fed up and declare, “Enough with these theatrical struggles. We don’t want to participate in this game anymore.”

Shall we try?

The problem is that the people today are not ready to do this. And in spite of it all, if we want rapid and practical solutions, this rotation is the best solution. It leaves the details through which the politicians only cause disconnect and separateness between us behind the curtains. On the contrary, everyone becomes right and successful.

Each one of them alone is not important. We already know quite well that nice programs and energetic slogans will not be materialized. And so the best thing is to bring all of them to a common denominator to unite the political spectrum.

So in general, it will not make a difference to us what each separate political bloc presents separately. The main thing is that they will connect and support each other instead of obstructing the others and blocking the way for them, leaving the nation without anything. It is preferable that each one will get his portion of control without angering the others by working together with them.

Question: So what must happen so that this will be realized?

Answer: This depends upon the people and not the leaders. What is required here is general knowledge, a program of education. After all, we certainly see that otherwise the people will live their lives, and the government, no matter which one it is, will live its life.
