“How To Find The Joy In Simple Life” (Medium)

Medium published my new article “How to Find the Joy in Simple Life

In simplicity lies the key to happiness. Thus, the change the world needs now is not only to get back to basics, but back to simple. If we could have a look at our planet from a higher perspective, like astronauts describe their view from space, we would realize with clarity how the Earth encompasses one humanity in a stunning and circular, yet simple way, without divisions.

The coronavirus is leading us to a new dimension of existence. It has dramatically altered our routine and habits so we can look at ourselves from a different viewpoint, reconsider what is essential and what is superfluous.

The virus cleans us of our complex and artificial life, our twisted and cumbersome life, and brings back the importance of family warmth, the thought of proper education and the simplicity we need.

We begin life in a very simple way, close to nature. A man and a woman conceive, a baby is born and needs only basic food and care. Then, as the baby grows and develops, the demands for more possessions and attention grow, as well.

In our prime, we chase money, diversions and amusements, and success in our careers. We squander our energy and end up feeling empty.

As we age, we become drawn again toward simplicity. This is not necessarily just because our energy diminishes over the years, which is a physiological reality, but mainly because all the fancy and intricate trappings of the world we constructed no longer impress us. A person at this stage in life tends to realize that the simpler things are the most meaningful. Nature is this way also.

Instead of complexity, nature is drawn toward simplicity. This is why we start life in a simple and natural way, and we also finish it in that same fashion. It seems that the more we develop as a society, as we become more evolved human beings, we reach a peak from which we, as a society, begin to crave for a simple but meaningful life.

If we examine the culture we have created over the years — music, paintings, dance — all the human ways of expressing deep inner feelings and thoughts — we will see that every thing that inspires us and that we admire is, at the end of the day, close to nature and relatively simple. This is the future of humanity.

So after completing the current, complicated phase the world is going through, it will end and we will feel increasing attraction to a simpler life in which we will experience a myriad of flavors, the most important one being the flavor of love.

Simplicity does not necessarily mean a meager life with nothing to do. Instead, it is a life in which we come to identify more closely with nature, so that we begin to feel the role we are born to fulfill, and what nature wants from us. Subconsciously, we all want to find the answer to this question, to discover the secret of life and its purpose. That is life’s simplest question, and also the deepest.

The coronavirus is accelerating an inner scrutiny within us. Under the pressure of nature, essential questions awaken. The virus cleans us of our complex and artificial life, our twisted and cumbersome life, and brings back the importance of family warmth, the thought of proper education and the simplicity we need.

Life is short, and the lifestyle that has gripped us up to this point has left us no time to think about its purpose. The coronavirus gives us a chance. It invites us to think and understand how to truly live rather than to just exist and survive. How? By finding joy in the small but meaningful things in life. It is much simpler than it seems.

Universal Injection

laitman_561Question: Why does the coronavirus spread mainly to older people?

Answer: In principle, the virus spreads to everyone. It is just that the young people tolerate it so easily that we do not even notice it. However, its next modification will be clearly evident on them as well.

The fact is that the virus is carried by everyone: by both animals and us. There are people who experience the disease almost imperceptibly. There are those who feel a slight ailment in the form of chills or colds, and those who feel them more. And there are people who even die.

As for children, the younger their age, the easier the virus is tolerated. However, it nevertheless affects them. In any case, it should affect everyone! As a result, you will not see a single person in the world that this virus has not passed through.

Now is the time when we should get one universal injection. This is neither good nor bad, we just need to understand what nature demands of us. If we understand, then we will behave correctly and enjoy life. And we will not have any losses.

Israel Cannot Be Defeated By Missiles

laitman_960.1Comment: A forum in commemoration of 75 years of the liberation of Auschwitz was held not long ago. According to the statistics on the day that the forum was held, Israel curbed 800 cyber-attacks on airports and on the airplanes of world leaders.

My Response: This is actually the war of the future. What’s the use of killing people? It also costs much more money. A cyber-attack, on the other hand, is done quietly, because all the world leaders come here and the goal is to eliminate them. This kind of cyber war takes place every day, but not at this rate and not so intensively, not everyone together.

Comment: The hackers in different countries tried to disrupt the runway of as many as 60 planes at Ben Gurion airport.

My Response: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, humanity can replay its faith and annihilate itself in a thermo-nuclear war and then be reborn thousands of years later and grow, like in Chernobyl, and history will repeat itself but in a better way, because after such an event the mutations will be better. They will preserve all the problems of the past internally and will not repeat them anymore.

Comment: This is a horrible script, of course, especially after Holocaust  Remembrance  Day.

My Response: But they will not repeat the problems of the past.

Question: There are many important meetings all over the world that world leaders attend. Why is it possible to see this now so clearly by Israel?

Answer: It is general love when world leaders come together and at the same time there are cyber-attacks.

Question: The outcome is a very romantic story, when all the world leaders come together, Israel reflects this attack; after all, it is Israel! So the attack must always be reflected. Does this mean that the hackers will never succeed?

Answer: They will never succeed.

Question: Why is this related?

Answer: It is because this nation, the nation of Israel, has a mission. It has a mission in this world. It is a mission that the whole world needs, and so nothing will happen to Israel. This is the reason that it is the safest place on earth. No matter which place in the world you visit, you may always think: “it is safe here, well, but…”, whereas in Israel, although it is not safe, and not so easy to live in, nothing will happen.

They need to find out through all their attempts that they will never succeed in any way, and ask themselves why they don’t succeed. Then they need to look for an answer. But if they don’t find an answer, they should get an answer which seemingly doesn’t make sense from a Kabbalist and accept it.

Question: What changes need to take place so that humanity will reach that?

Answer: This also depends on the nation of Israel and whether it will be able to explain this to everyone in the world: who it is, what it is, and what it exists for.

Question: And how can the nation of Israel want to do that?

Answer: It needs to listen to what the wisdom of Kabbalah says. All the people in the world need to know what the world exists for, for what purpose, and what each of the created beings must do in order to bring the world to the optimal state.

Question: And what law do they need to implement once they are all under “the hat” of Israel? Which laws do people need to keep between them?

Answer: Absolute, complete, mutual participation, unity, closeness, and understanding of each other, as one single whole, when all of humanity is as one family, when everyone together are like one man, an absolute feeling of the other as yourself. It should be as a woman feels the baby in her womb. This is how each one needs to feel everyone else inside him.

Question: Will Israel be like a warm blanket?

Answer: Yes, a warm blanket that covers the whole world and everyone feels warm, good, and safe.

Symphony For Zeir Anpin And Malchut

laitman_942It is not possible, yet, to explain where Zeir Anpin, Malchut, and the other Sefirot are in the ten. A ten still does not feel this, does not have such abilities. To work with spiritual concepts, one must already incorporate the properties of bestowal and engage in the love of friends above one’s desire to enjoy, above love for oneself. Thereby, we will acquire the properties of Zeir Anpin and will be able to grow Malchut, otherwise it is impossible.

Therefore, all our work is to attract the upper light that will affect us. We must ask the Creator to shine the returning light on us, which will give us the quality of bestowal. To the extent that the upper light affects us, we will want to love our neighbor and to bestow to him. We only need to attract the light and for this we need a common prayer.

If together, as a ten, we demand and ask for the light to come, it will come and unite us into one body called Zeir Anpin or Malchut. Then we will understand connection and what Baal HaSulam writes about in his article the “Study of the Ten Sefirot.” Right now, we do not understand this; we only read: Zeir Anpin and Malchut, but we do not have such workings in us and, therefore the text remains dead. These are simply lifeless letters to us.

But after the correction, we will be able to read and perform these actions inside, in our feelings. This text will become for us like notes for a musician who can play them or even sing a melody by ear. After all, he feels these notes.

If a person is not familiar with the notes, he does not understand how to sing and play them. He looks at musical notes and does not know what each note means. So we do not know what the structure of the upper worlds means. Until we acquire the qualities of bestowal, we will not be able to perform any of the actions described in the Kabbalistic book.

HaVaYaH – The Structure Of Our Desires

laitman_548.02Question: What is HaVaYaH?

Answer:HaVaYaH” is the four-letter name of the Creator (Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey), which includes all of creation. Everything that is created and exists in the world falls under the four stages of the cascading of the light, which are called HaVaYaH or the names of the Creator.

The upper light, while passing through these four stages and building the entire universe, highlights the essence of the Creator, the Creator’s attitude to creation.

Question: If we take the matter of our world, for example, a table or a person—regardless of what it is—then the structure of any desire is HaVaYaH?

Answer: Yes. We just do not see it, do not notice it, do not feel it. Whatever the world is, big, small, macro, micro, no matter how we look at it, you can always see HaVaYaH in it.

Remark: Even in Kabbalah, the term “Adam HaRishon” is constantly used.

My Comment: The fact is that everything created in the universe, on the one hand, is called HaVaYaH and, on the other hand, it is considered a structure called Adam.

By Adam, we mean not a person in our world, but a system that includes everything. The Creator created creation in such a way that it ultimately comprehended Him—the Creator. Therefore, creation goes through developmental stages until it reaches the Adam stage from the word “adameh” meaning “domeh,” similar to the Creator. And, therefore, everything created can be called Adam.

In addition, Adam HaRishon is creation in its original form, which undergoes all kinds of transformations and comes to its final result.

Question: What is the difference between HaVaYaH and Adam HaRishon?

Answer: Adam HaRishon consists of HaVaYaH. But when we talk about HaVaYaH and how this structure reacts to the Creator and wants to become like the Creator, we call it Adam.

Question: That is, all of these things seem to be in potential form, and a person reveals them with his feelings just like DNA, in our world, contains all of the information for the development of the human body and the properties of a person’s character?

Answer: Yes. And then it is revealed.

Question: And what are the ten Sefirot?

Answer: The ten Sefirot are the ten parts of which any complete, corrected desire for bestowal is composed.

Question: What is the difference between HaVaYaH and the ten Sefirot?

Answer: It is the same thing. Although HaVaYaH consists of five letters; four and the tip of the letter yod, it is still ten parts.

Peaceful Coexistence Of Love And Hatred

laitman_232.06Comment: In the spiritual world not a single sensation disappears. On the contrary, the two opposite feelings of love and hatred are always together.

My Response: They mutually complement each other, and therefore, they do not disappear.

Comment: And in our world, we are always in one state, either love or hatred.

My Response: Of course, because if they are together, they annihilate and mutually exclude each other.

Question: How can love and hatred mutually coexist in the spiritual world?

Answer: It is very simple. There is hatred for my original desire to enjoy myself, and love for the fact that now I myself want to bestow to someone.

The fact is that the spiritual Kli (vessel) is built on the desire, restriction, and formation of the screen, that is, the intention not for your own sake but for the fulfillment of the one you love.

A vessel consists of all five stages, which must be one organism, and therefore, it can feel absolute, infinite, limitless, constantly increasing pleasure.

New Life 1206 – Jewish Self-Hatred

New Life 1206 – Jewish Self-Hatred
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Every Jew has an inner restlessness and self-hatred because he is composed of two opposing forces. We are torn in two between a desire to receive and the beginning of a desire to bestow. The purpose of our development is to investigate the nature from which the two forces are derived and to adhere to their origin. A Jew can only feel complete within himself when he understands that his goal is to achieve love of others. Jews have always felt a need to fix the world through revolutions and they push humanity to evolve. The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method for balancing the two forces. When we provide an example of balance to the world and teach others how to achieve loving connection, anti-Semitism will stop.

Reach The Level Of The Director Of The World Theater

laitman_423.02There is a theater in front of us in which we all play. Imagine that we have to decode the first level that we are in today, what happens in the first act, and what do the characters do in it.

We understand that people around us are puppets and we do not want to take part in this show, not as extras and not as leading actors. We want to reach the level of the screenwriter because he conceived the scene or at least the level of the director.

If we reach the scriptwriter’s level through the level of the stage director, we will decode why the Creator has created everything the way it is, why this act is managed the way it is, what connects the characters and the actors, and why one act follows another in a certain sequence; then we will be worthy of ascending to the next level.

On the next level, everything will be totally different, but the plan is the same. We will reenter a certain world in which different forces operate, different heroes are present, a completely different situation exists, and nothing will resemble what preceded it.

What we see today in this world will not reappear again anywhere, just as it will not reappear on any level in the future, because on each level everything is totally new.

Thus gradually and consistently we will attain and adapt to all of the 125 spiritual levels. We will become acquainted with the thought of creation of the Creator, and we will partially discover His revelations, manifestations, and transformations until we attain the last level: His complete plan. Him.

Moving up the spiritual levels symbolizes the gradual attainment of the Creator as the director, the scriptwriter, and the producer of the whole universe who performs all the actions while everything else cannot move or do anything, on the inside or the outside, since only He moves and operates every atom, every molecule, every thought, and every desire, and arranges everything in its place.

The Creator or the light is a positive force field. With this force, He operates the global theatrical production for the purpose of actually raising us to the level of His attainment and, through this attainment, to resemble Him.
