Question of the Century

245.04Comment: They say that supposedly there is energy around us that feeds us, and due to this, we can even get by without food.

My Response: A person can, of course, receive nourishment also in this way. What is the difference? But what does it give him and what does it lead to?

Anyway, I have been given a certain number of years to realize my appearance on Earth, to effectively identify it. Later I will have other functions, in other states. But the state in which I manifest myself here, in this segment of my existence, is like this. Therefore I have to think about a way to realize it effectively.

How can I do it? Only when I understand the entire chain of my existence in which my corporeal life is a small fragment, some single link. I need to realize this link effectively, and then I will already go in accordance with what I finish my realization with.

Today, people really lack this goal. They do not know what to do. You seem to be living, but what are you living for? There used to be a struggle for a bowl of soup, for a position in society, and so on. There were all sorts of goals, either real or imaginary ones.

Today there is none of this. It does not matter what rags I wear today. It says nothing about a person, apart from politicians in ties. Today I do not have to worry about food, somehow I will find it somewhere.

There is no need to learn. What will it give me? There are a lot of unemployed people anyway. Music, literature, ballet, opera, painting—all this has also decreased and disappeared somewhere. Who needs it? Who is interested in it?

Most people have traveled half the world. What interesting things can they expect in the rest of their lives? Therefore, a person is bored. A person has no purpose in life. It seems that he has developed so much that he can cover the entire world; he surfs the Internet and can do anything.

Yet in the end he has nothing. He sees that there is nothing to live for. Drugs, some kind of oblivion… What to do? Therefore, the question “What do you live for?” is a very big, painful question.

Invitation to the New Reality

627.1Question: From where does the sensation of inner emptiness come to a person?

Answer: Desire is constantly growing within us. It has to grow to the state where you will demand the light, moreover, in the size that exceeds our world. Then unwillingly you will have to exit the framework in which we live and rise to the next dimension.

This invitation to the next level already exists in a person and therefore he feels emptiness.

He is playing a game of life, feeling that there is nothing to be fulfilled with. “For now I will live this way. What can I do? Will my life end simply like that? But there is nothing shining behind that. But at least for now I will be busy playing somehow and will spend time.” A person has the instinct of self-protection.

But in essence, the inner spiritual hunger is sucking him and calling him to reach something higher. This desire is developing for the next level, to a greater portion of light, in other words, to another life.

Question: Does it mean that we do not have any freedom of choice in our existence?

Answer: The freedom of choice is only in accelerating our development. And we can accelerate it only with the help of a certain environment.

When we create such an environment around us—books, teacher, and friends—we can elevate our desire, direct it correctly, shape it, and make it big and aspiring to the goal. Then we will come out of our world to the next dimension faster.

When There Is No Goal in Life

198Question: A person is a vessel that is brought to life by a source of some kind of energy. Why are young people in need of a boost with energy drinks today? They seem to feel a complete lack of vitality. Why do people not have the spirit of life at a young age?

Answer: It’s due to the fact that they have nothing for which to aspire. It is not about the energy of life. We get energy from purpose.

When I see a big, great, worthwhile goal before me, I get energy, I start to fire up like a bull whose eyes are are filling with blood. I am rushing toward this goal, but only if it is before me, like a red cloth before a bull. However, if it is not there, then the person just fades away.

Our generation has very big egoism, to which everything is available in this world. People can fly, drive, and communicate via the Internet with any corner of the globe. They look at all this and feel that they will not be satisfied. There is no reason to make any movements, it is better to go and take drugs, disconnect from hopelessness and emptiness. Therefore, drugs and antidepressants are the only thing left for a person.

Kabbalah, however, says that beyond the level that seems meaningless, empty, and worthless to you and that you see our small round Earth and everything on it is limited, and that any day all this may end; however, there is a completely different world, a new, upper dimension. This is where we have to get to. We can do it now, today.

Moreover, the development of the Internet helps us to feel that we are in communication with each other, and this communication can take us to the next level. And here we come to amazing possibilities.

The Question that Needs to Be Solved

182.02Question: Today they write a lot about such a phenomenon as “the end of the world.” Not in the sense that we will cease to exist but as the beginning of a certain period where you do not know what to do. What is this stage in the development of mankind?

Answer: It is a wonderful stage!

We were born and live now in a period when the first generation was born in our world that really got off the trees, not because we have developed technologically and are able to make all kinds of cars, locomotives, and airplanes, but because we have come to a state where we have to decide why we have appeared on this globe at all, what we should do on it, and how to truly realize ourselves.

Such a monkey appeared, developed into a little man, looked around, and thought: “And what am I for?” It looked around a bit more, saw all this: “Well, okay. And what’s next?”

Today we are coming very close to this issue in our historical development: “Why did we appear? We climbed down from trees and developed technology and social structure. What’s next? Does man have some higher purpose?”

Of course, this is not a simple question. Until it cuts through humanity, until it is realized from within that this is precisely what we are asking, that this question is a challenge that nature poses to us so that we realize and in the end give ourselves an answer or at least begin to look for an answer to the question of the meaning of life. This is a very special moment, and this generation—it is special too.

So, it is searching, without understanding why and how, trying to solve all these issues either through terror, drugs, divorce, all kinds of searches, adventures, or space, no matter what. These attempts, everything we do is practically a search for an answer about the meaning of life.

Let’s say I am heading somewhere. We see that all space programs are being curtailed: “Well, what will we find there? Stones. Nothing else.” And what will we find in some technological developments? Or in culture? We once thought that with the help of culture we would develop ourselves. And all of a sudden, they were exhausted. In the 19th century this practically ended.

The 20th century came, the century of technology: nano-technologies, computers, everything. Today we are coming to a state where the Internet connects everyone together, and we suddenly see that we are working with a machine, that is what is interesting. A person begins to discover that his connection is mainly with machines even if he communicates with other people through them.

These are machine responses, this is automation, and there is nothing here. A person wants to go out somewhere, to escape! But in which direction can he go?

And if not, then again: back to drugs, to some kind of reassurance, just to forget. Why are sport games so developed today? All governments want to shift the attention of the masses to football and other games. Occupy people! The main thing is to forget yourself. That is why such a large number of media outlets are aimed at this.

And if you look ahead, the development of technology does not stop, and billions more unemployed people will appear in the world, not millions, but billions of people with good qualifications who can do everything. And what to do?

With the help of new technologies, we will soon come to a state where 5% of the world’s population will be able to provide for everyone else. What is next? Overabundance on one hand. The lack of distribution on the other.

In general, we are in a state of misunderstanding the meaning of life. That is the most important thing we need to answer.

Everyone Can Become Moses

222Comment: Irina is asking: “During this war and these events that are happening, I suddenly have a feeling that I cannot plan anything, that I do not decide anything, that everything is decided for me. They took away the meaning of living the way I want! I have to live as someone else wants! I feel like an animal being led wherever they want: into slavery—so, into slavery; to slaughter—so, to slaughter. And this is called life! How can I break free out of this circle? This is not life!”

My Response: It has always been that way. You just did not realize that you were being controlled. Now you have grown up internally and feel that you are being controlled. This is a completely different state.

What is this for? In order for you to maybe be able to change yourself. To find out why you are being controlled, who is controlling you, what for, why, and how to change yourself so that you can enter this governance yourself. This is already recognizing that you are in a state of spiritual growth.

All these people and governments are in fact puppets. Who is behind them? The upper force that controls all of us through all sorts of figureheads.

It means that we must understand from where, what for, and why, and try to see this upper force that leads us to a certain state and controls us. To come in contact with it in such a way that we would receive all kinds of control signals directly from it.

Question: So that I receive directly from this force? Roughly speaking, why do I need intermediaries? By this I remove these intermediaries and work directly with it, right?

Answer: Of course. This is the level of Moshe (Moses)—the one who talks directly to the Creator. Everyone can come to this. If we get out of slavery, we reach the level of Moses.

This is why we are driven into such states, so that we come out of them and directly connect ourselves to the upper force that wants to lead us somewhere. We are given all the problems just to turn our attention to the upper force. Therefore, it is said about the Creator that He is very jealous.

Question: Is He jealous because we do not pay attention to Him but to everything that happens around us? And we should pay attention to Him?

Answer: Yes.

Question: So, are you saying that this direct dialogue is not just possible but necessary? Is that where we are being led?

Answer: He will force us to do this. But it is better to do this sooner.

Question: Will every inhabitant of the Earth be directly speaking with the upper force? What will happen then if this fantasy takes place?

Answer: We will discover the upper force within which we exist, which controls us and leads us to the next degree of development.

We will discover that He surrounds us, includes us, and controls us in everything and by everything and wants us to enter into such a connection with Him that we understand His every action, His every signal to us.

Question: Why does He need it?

Answer: So that we rise to His level. Through this we reach our highest state of development—to be like Him, to see everything, to understand everything, to execute everything, to do everything, to be at the highest level of nature. To see everything from one end to the other. That is, we become eternal and perfect.

Comment: As they used to say at school: “Man is the crown of nature.” The man who mutilated everything around him.

My Response: This is the recognition of our current state. It is terrible, of course! Worse than animals! It is out of this recognition that we come to connection.

Question: What about what you say all the time: love, connection, and good relations?

Answer: We must cultivate this within ourselves by force. From this forced cultivation we will come to this feeling. We will come to this.

In the Middle Between Love and Hate

562.01In the News (Scientists prove it really is a thin line between love and hate”): Love and hate are intimately linked within the human brain, according to a study that has discovered the biological basis for the two most intense emotions.

“Scientists studying the physical nature of hate have found that some of the nervous circuits in the brain responsible for it are the same as those that are used during the feeling of romantic love – although love and hate appear to be polar opposites. …

” The findings could explain why both hate and romantic love can result in similar acts of extreme behaviour – both heroic and evil – said Professor Semir Zeki of University College London, who led the study published in the on-line journal PloS ONE.

“‘Hate is often considered to be an evil passion that should, in a better world, be tamed, controlled and eradicated. Yet to the biologist, hate is a passion that is of equal interest to love,’ Professor Zeki said.

“‘Like love, it is often seemingly irrational and can lead individual to heroic and evil deeds. How can two opposite sentiments lead to the same behaviour?'”

Question: What do you think? These are two completely opposite concepts!

Answer: They trigger the same sensation.

Question: “There is ecstasy in battle.” But hatred is still such a black thing. And love is so white.

What is love and hatred for you?

Answer: This is only when there is a third addition called the goal that I achieve. Love by itself and hate by itself, they are pointless.

Question: Which means, there is a goal I am moving toward. And along the way I have love-hate, love-hate. Is this how I move all the time? Is that what you mean?

Answer: Yes, with the help of love and hate, we are moving toward a goal that includes neither love nor hate.

Question: Is it possible to move toward the goal only with the help of love?

Answer: How? Where are the opposite qualities? How will you move on one leg? There is no way.

Question: Is it impossible only to love? Must I hate?

Answer: This is the mistake of all those philosophers and political scientists.

Question: Who only want to come to love?

Answer: Yes, or to one thing only.

Question: Should I at some point along this road come to huge hatred, terrible hatred?

Answer: Only in the middle line.

Question: In the middle—does this mean moving between love and hate?

Answer: Yes, constantly.

Question: Please tell me: when I hate, should I feel that I hate?

Answer: Of course! Huge hatred! You must shiver! The same way as one would be shaking from the yearning for love.

Question: Should I hate this huge hatred of mine? Am I supposed to come to this?

Answer: It depends on what level. Perhaps you will welcome it.

Question: Because it leads me to the goal?

Answer: Of course. And then you will stop taking into account whether it is love or hate altogether. The main thing is moving toward the goal, moving along the middle line.

I believe that both love and hate are necessary.

Question: The movement is in any case along the middle line between these two spots?

Answer: Yes. It all exists relative to the little man.

Was Frankl Right?

79.01Comment: In the US, psychologist Viktor Frankl’s works are very popular and a common theme of his is that one should approach the question of the meaning of life as though it is addressed specifically to him. In this, Frankl completely contradicts Sigmund Freud who believed that if a person wonders about the meaning of life, it is a sign of mental illness.

However, Frankl notes that it is impossible to inquire about the meaning of life on a global scale since each person has his own meaning of life.

My Response: What does “one’s own meaning of life” mean? We are all products of the same nature and are all born with certain inclinations that can be divided into groups and systematized.

There is nothing special about any of us. Do not paint each person as someone unpredictable or as some special individual. Everything is predictable and predetermined. We study genes, hormones, and see how twins living in different places do the same things, marry similar women, call children the same names, etc. Therefore, everything is predictable and we can research it all.

Frankl is wrong. What does he base the meaning of life on? If everyone has their own meaning of life, then there is no such meaning at all. Everyone can decide based on their life experience that: “I live for this. Meanwhile another lives for that.”

If the meaning of your life lies within the corporeal reality, then you act according to Freud without going beyond his theory. If you are looking for the meaning of life beyond life, then how can one actually look for it outside of it? By imagining something? Then everyone will come up with their own religion, beliefs, and everything else. Nothing will come of this either because all of these are human fantasies and none of it can be proven.

But if you have to reveal that world as clearly as this one, then you will know the meaning of life. And once you do, you’ll see that just as in our world where everything is predictable, everything goes according to plan, one has a job, spins, expresses himself according to some venues set for him, and so at the next stage, beyond physical existence, we also advance according to certain laws. And these laws are the laws of nature and they cannot be denied.

Question: So the meaning of life is the same for everyone?

Answer: The meaning of life is the same for everyone. Mind you, the meaning of our present existence is revealed only in the spiritual world and it does not exist in this life.

If we focus on our corporeal life, this leads us away from true meaning and represents only a small phase. As it is written: “do not show half the work to a fool.” Therefore, if we see only half of the way, then we cannot know what follows. It seems to us that life either does not make sense or it is best to focus on this current phase and create our own meaning.

So, both the approach of Sigmund Freud and the approach of Viktor Frankl are utterly incomplete because they do not clearly reveal the next degree of our existence.

What Sigmund Freud Was Right About

235Question: If Sigmund Freud did not have an answer to the question about the meaning of life, then was he simply trying to disengage a person from it?

Answer: I would not say that Freud did not understand this. He just clearly set the boundary where this issue was really solvable from a scientific point of view, from the point of view of the psychoanalyst’s impact on our world and the study of its reactions, from the point of view of the psychologist’s interaction with his patient, and so on.

Therefore, he acted sensibly in suggesting that we treat materialistic psychology as a science.

The great Kabbalist Baal HaSulam welcomed materialistic psychology because it analyzes matter, studies matter’s obvious reactions, and on this basis empirically builds its approach and thus develops.

In this regard, as Kabbalists we are in harmony and friendship with psychology, but that is not what we would say about philosophy, which is full of contradictions, mutual oppositions, and gaps from end to end, although Kabbalah is studied at philosophical faculties.

Sigmund Freud understood this problem. He wanted to make a science out of psychology, which he purposefully called psychoanalysis, and all this was done experimentally; he himself took all kinds of substances, including narcotics.

Therefore, he said that the question of the meaning of life goes beyond the scope of our existence and is considered painful, as in not real, not sane, and not healthy from the point of view of the researcher and as such it must be related to in that way. In this he is absolutely right.

Breaking Through The Shell Of Ignorance

559Question: Isn’t the current way of upbringing a theater of the absurd? We study a variety of subjects, the laws of mathematics, physics, and chemistry. And we are not taught who, for what, from where or why we are.

Answer: Obviously, and who can teach this? You can demand anything from teachers, but they weren’t taught this either. They don’t even know what to tell the children.

And children have a greater desire, a greater potential request than their parents. Who will tell them about it? After all, the parents also do not know anything about it; they are at a loss.

Parents today are unable to keep their child close to them. They can’t say anything. They have nothing to give! The child has such requests! Does anything change from the fact that the father knows higher mathematics or physics and the mother knows biology, gynecology or something else? Children don’t need this. They need to know the meaning of life!

But parents don’t know about it. Therefore, children look at them like they are dinosaurs living an animalistic life, doing household chores. “Well, go ahead. Just give me something to eat, you can’t fill me up with anything else anyway. Leave me alone!” That’s what a child demands from his parents. And he is right.

It’s the same at school. What can teachers give them if children have completely different demands? They don’t want knowledge in order to learn how to make money. First of all, they want to reach their I.

They unconsciously have such an inner need and feel that they cannot fill it, they kill themselves with drugs, parties, gatherings and even computer games in which they forget themselves, a different atmosphere that they create for themselves that helps them play.

They continue their childish game, because if you take an adult look at the world, this world is empty. It’s better to go back to the children’s community and stay there. This is what remains with them. Therefore they are immersed in computers, in something virtual, as disconnected from life as possible in order to deal less with the outside world.

Question: Does their internal request take on such negative external forms?

Answer: I don’t consider them negative. As a result, these requests will find their way out, their solution. They will break through the shell of misunderstanding, ignorance, and rejection, like an abscess. And people will find the answer that there is a method that allows you to see what you want.

Where To Find Immortality?

712.03Question: Where is the line when a person acquires freedom from death or rather, freedom from this concept?

Answer: A person gains freedom from death as soon as he begins to feel the upper world. Therefore, it is written on the tablets of the covenant: “Herut” – “Freedom.”

It means freedom from the angel of death. It is said about this: “Behold, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil… choose life.” Moreover, this is not life when you simply exist, but spiritual life that you can reach now and rise above it. Essentially, “Choose immortality.”

Comment: Many have tried to seek this immortality. Today scientists are also trying to find this “I” that perceives reality. They have already explored everything they can, and they say: “We do not find this in the brain.” Moreover, we do not perceive this reality through the eyes. There is a kind of screen at the back of our brain that reflects what is inside of us.

Kabbalists spoke and wrote about this many centuries ago.

My Response: Kabbalists saw it, revealed it, and felt it. Scientists just presume. They clearly do not realize that the world we see before us is inside us. They just guess that it must be so, that our eyes do not see what is happening outside. In general, the eyes are not an organ of vision.

The organ of vision is our brain. The eyes are a lens that turns what is inside us outward. Therefore, for the time being, we can explain existence only in this way.

Nevertheless, we will come to a state when we discover that Kabbalah is vital for us, because without a correct view of life, without real attainment of the universe, we simply cannot exist, we get lost in this. We have developed so much and went so deep into matter that we got lost in this forest. What to do next, we do not know. In any area!

We suddenly find ourselves so lost, small, and dependent entirely on nature. We ask, “What is next for us?” Here Kabbalah is revealed.

I think that people will begin to accept it correctly, as a science of an integral single universe and most importantly, as a science that takes us to an eternal, perfect level of existence.
