In the Middle Between Love and Hate

562.01In the News (Scientists prove it really is a thin line between love and hate”): Love and hate are intimately linked within the human brain, according to a study that has discovered the biological basis for the two most intense emotions.

“Scientists studying the physical nature of hate have found that some of the nervous circuits in the brain responsible for it are the same as those that are used during the feeling of romantic love – although love and hate appear to be polar opposites. …

” The findings could explain why both hate and romantic love can result in similar acts of extreme behaviour – both heroic and evil – said Professor Semir Zeki of University College London, who led the study published in the on-line journal PloS ONE.

“‘Hate is often considered to be an evil passion that should, in a better world, be tamed, controlled and eradicated. Yet to the biologist, hate is a passion that is of equal interest to love,’ Professor Zeki said.

“‘Like love, it is often seemingly irrational and can lead individual to heroic and evil deeds. How can two opposite sentiments lead to the same behaviour?'”

Question: What do you think? These are two completely opposite concepts!

Answer: They trigger the same sensation.

Question: “There is ecstasy in battle.” But hatred is still such a black thing. And love is so white.

What is love and hatred for you?

Answer: This is only when there is a third addition called the goal that I achieve. Love by itself and hate by itself, they are pointless.

Question: Which means, there is a goal I am moving toward. And along the way I have love-hate, love-hate. Is this how I move all the time? Is that what you mean?

Answer: Yes, with the help of love and hate, we are moving toward a goal that includes neither love nor hate.

Question: Is it possible to move toward the goal only with the help of love?

Answer: How? Where are the opposite qualities? How will you move on one leg? There is no way.

Question: Is it impossible only to love? Must I hate?

Answer: This is the mistake of all those philosophers and political scientists.

Question: Who only want to come to love?

Answer: Yes, or to one thing only.

Question: Should I at some point along this road come to huge hatred, terrible hatred?

Answer: Only in the middle line.

Question: In the middle—does this mean moving between love and hate?

Answer: Yes, constantly.

Question: Please tell me: when I hate, should I feel that I hate?

Answer: Of course! Huge hatred! You must shiver! The same way as one would be shaking from the yearning for love.

Question: Should I hate this huge hatred of mine? Am I supposed to come to this?

Answer: It depends on what level. Perhaps you will welcome it.

Question: Because it leads me to the goal?

Answer: Of course. And then you will stop taking into account whether it is love or hate altogether. The main thing is moving toward the goal, moving along the middle line.

I believe that both love and hate are necessary.

Question: The movement is in any case along the middle line between these two spots?

Answer: Yes. It all exists relative to the little man.
