Any Day Can Become a Turning Point

284Question: Why did many researchers call 2012 a turning point in human development?

Answer: I did not consider this year to be a turning point, but even before that I was skeptical about many things. For example, although many great Kabbalists, such as Baal HaSulam, the Gaon of Vilnius, and others, wrote that Kabbalah would begin to be revealed to the masses in 1995, I did not believe that this would happen. I speak frankly about this.

That is, I did not see in my Kabbalistic studies how this could happen. On my still spiritual, but small level, I did not see this. They, however, being very prominent discoverers of the spiritual world, discovered it. Outwardly, I agreed with their vision, but inside, as a researcher, I was skeptical. Kabbalah is a science, and I have the right to say that I did not feel it.

The same is true for 2012. I did not see any suppositions for this year to be special. Now any year, any day, can be a turning point in the development of humanity. Some small blow is enough to seriously awaken a person, as, for example, academician Vernadsky awakened in his time, but not so much through a personal drama.

However, we need a shake-up so that a person seriously rises above his little world and asks: “What for? Why? How? I need to know the answer.” And then he will need to reveal Kabbalah.

It will become the means by which he will open the “noosphere” and all the upper worlds, and reach the connection of both worlds and the eternal, infinite, perfect existence—not dying, but rising above his animate level to the spiritual level.

Question: Did Vernadsky call the noosphere a certain new level of existence?

Answer: Yes. But anyway, this word does not exist in Kabbalah, just like many others. For example, there is no term “holism” from the English words for “everything” or “completely.” But in principle this is heading in the same direction. Only Kabbalah divides this into many different levels and gives them their own names.

Feel the Thought of Creation

546.03People who are more or less connected with nature by profession feel it better. Nature itself forces them to be more delicate, closer to their essence. At first glance they may seem crude, but they feel nature and its laws through themselves, and therefore, they are different.

Comment: In particular, the academic Vernadsky said that humanity should live the life of a single whole. In his opinion, the whole development of technology is not accidental and is connected with the fact that humanity must reveal its globalization. But he wrote about it in general terms, in general concepts. He did not know how to do it.

My Response: He had no methodology. To do this, you need to know all the layers of the spiritual world up to the highest degrees, to the spiritual root of everything that exists.

It is necessary to attain all five worlds, all 125 degrees, not counting our world, and find in that root its five primordial parts, the five initial stages of development, in order to understand the whole plan, the entire previous history of our descent from that root from top to bottom to the material world, and then our ascent from bottom to top.

Vernadsky did not have this device. But he still attained a lot. He felt the thought of creation all around our world, and he called it Noosphere.

Ten Degrees—Ten Emanations

548.03Question: In the laws of our world, the number “10” manifests itself in a variety of areas. For example, in physics, it is a 10-dimensional structure of our space in superstring theory. In mathematics, it is the decimal system of calculus.  In biology, a flock of more than ten animals is considered very strong, and tough. In anatomy, if we consider the human body, it has ten fingers, toes, etc.

Is there any connection with a spiritual number “10” with spiritual forces?

Answer: Yes. All these phenomena come from a spiritual root. The upper force goes through ten degrees until it creates a lower force that can be reflected back in it.

The connection from the top-down, from the Creator to the creation, and from the bottom up, from the creation to the Creator, can only be through ten degrees, Sefirot, emanations.

The upper force has built our material world through ten degrees, ten phases.

Extremely Important Work

632.3Question: We recently had students enroll in new courses on the study of Kabbalah. If you could address these thousands of students, what would you wish for them?

Answer: I would wish them the opportunity to devote the maximum amount of time to studying the foundations of Kabbalah, which they would master in such a way as a basis for further insight into society, nature, and the world.

Question: Many of our friends help students by supporting their learning process, organizing groups and workshops, and helping them advance in their studies. What would you wish for these friends?

Answer: What they do is very important. Just as blood vessels in our body deliver nutrition, information, and a huge amount of everything necessary for each organ of the body so it lives, so the spiritual life depends on these people.

They bring through themselves, through their connection with beginners, all the data that is in Kabbalah in such a form and to such an extent that it is absorbed by people whom it gradually raises along the spiritual degrees; into the state of real, correct, and mutual coexistence with vast nature, with the Creator.

So their work is extremely important!

The “Hundredth Monkey Effect”

600.01In the News (Hundredth Monkey Effect and Information Cascade): The hundredth monkey effect is a hypothetical phenomenon in which a new behavior or idea is said to spread rapidly by unexplained means from one group to all related groups once a critical number of members of one group exhibit the new behavior or acknowledge the new idea. This concept is closely related to the information cascade model we learnt in class and demonstrates how it works in the animal world.

“The story of the hundredth monkey effect was published in … 1975. Some scientists were conducting a study of macaque monkeys on the Japanese island of Kōjima in 1952. These scientists observed that some of these monkeys learned to wash sweet potatoes in the water, and once a critical number of these monkeys was reached, i.e., the hundredth monkey, this previously learned practice instantly spread across the water to other troupes of monkeys on nearby islands without any contact between the troupes. This phenomenon correlates to the information cascade model in that it shows how ideas can spread quickly once they hit a certain level of acceptance. The certain level of acceptance matches with the tipping point in advertising we discussed in class.”

The researchers also observed the following pattern which suggests the information cascade process based on network structure:

  1. The young monkeys first teach their contemporaries and immediate family, who all benefit from the new behavior and teach it to their contemporaries;
  2. If the parents or their contemporaries (or their parents) are too old, they do not adopt the behavior;
  3. Once the initial group have children, the dynamic changes from teaching previous and current generations, to the next generation learning by observation.

My Response: Yes, they say that on the neighboring island, the monkeys began to do the same. This is a normal transmission of thoughts at a distance.

In our daily life, we often encounter such facts. For example, in a newspaper, stories are printed with certain headlines. Over twelve hundred miles, at the same time, the exact same story comes out in another newspaper, although there really was no connection. Absolutely the same thing. Nobody stole anything. It is just that people are in the same field and spread all their thoughts in it.

It is the same with monkeys and in general with all nature at any level. We just need to take this relationship into account and understand that we, like monkeys, are interconnected. Let’s think carefully, then everyone will have good thoughts.

I should not criticize anyone, but first of all, think well myself, and then I will actually see how the world is getting better.
Thinking well does not mean selfishly, just to make everyone feel good. What does it mean to “love your neighbor as yourself”? Imagine that the others are your loved ones. There is no way to go anywhere if the world is global. Let’s hope this helps.

Comment: As a result of the experiment with monkeys, scientists came to the conclusion that a critical mass of people is needed who would be looking for an answer to the question posed, and then this will happen.

My Response: In Kabbalah, this is called 600,000 souls. This is a conditional name. Indeed, a critical mass is needed.

The Nature of Creation

202Question: From where do thoughts of receiving arise in us?

Answer: The main thought of the universe, meaning, the Creator, the thought, created us opposite to Himself so that we could attain Him from this state and cloth in Him with our opposite qualities.

Question: It turns out that all our thoughts, our whole world, is the reverse side of the Creator, right?

Answer: That is exactly right. That is why our world is called “creation,” from the word “create,” that is, to create something opposite, external from oneself.

The thought we call the Creator is completely altruistic. We are absolutely egoistic. We are created by this thought as a desire to receive, and not like Him to give. But thanks to this very difference, we are something distinct from Him, exist independently, and are able to know Him from the outside, superimposed on Him.

Therefore, we come to such a state that we and He exist, and we can achieve equivalence of form with Him, while remaining opposite to Him by nature.

We cannot change our nature. Our thought remains egoistic, but we learn how to use it with the correct intention from this thought, from the Creator.

The Opportunity Given to Us

291Question: You say that a person perceives everything from within himself. For example, Tsiolkovsky perceived everything from within himself. But why, speaking of the will of the universe, did he speak of it as something perfect, harmonious, that treats us with absolute goodness?

Answer: Because each of us has the ability to perceive the world outside of ourselves.

In some people, this ability, which in Kabbalah is called a point in the heart, is more pronounced. They feel pressure and movement from within. For most people, however, this point is deeply concealed. They do not have such a need, such a grip.

Therefore, they try to do it in science first. I have met many such people. I think that in our time a serious reassessment will begin, and these people will come to Kabbalah.

Kabbalah is a wisdom that helps a person look not only deeply into himself, into his feelings, but also to change himself, his feelings, to go beyond himself and see the world unperturbed, as it really is, outside of me, and not the way I feel it in myself.

Does the Universe Have a Will?

746.02Question: The greatest scientist in the field of astronautics K. E. Tsiolkovsky wrote about the will of the universe in his works. He said that this will conditions everything that we see and feel. The only question is what is this will?

Does the universe have a will, and can we talk about it?

Answer: Real scientists, physicists, astronomers, and cosmologists feel that the universe is a thought, it is a mind. When they delve into what is happening outside of us at great distances, in great forces, they feel that it breathes with some kind of huge plan, something very great and intelligent, aimed at something mysterious, but having its own power, consistency, maturity, higher logic, that is incomprehensible to us.

And we are in this as little accomplices and the universe has its own will and its own program. Many people have this feeling.

The Task of Each Person

630.2Question: Why does Kabbalah say that every person should change himself? If we are all one common system, let Kabbalists change everything.

Answer: How can I change you? You have your own egoism, your own qualities; I have my own, and I have no power over you. Every person must reach this state, and everyone can and must ultimately control their own fate. That’s when he will reach an understanding of a common idea, a common thought.

Question: So Kabbalah gives a person the opportunity to become the master of his own destiny and not just predict some events?

Answer: Kabbalah does not make predictions at all. This is exactly what is forbidden in Kabbalah, because you go deeper into predicting the future, instead of changing yourself so that this future will be good.

Question: So, in principle, predictions change nothing?

Answer: Of course. This is just a game, and therefore Kabbalah forbids it.

But there is immortality! And it is very easy to reach this degree. I invite everyone.

Delicate Balance of Nature

721.03Nature must maintain a balance. It is very fragile, very thin, and it is above us.

We do not understand its formula, and therefore do not know how it should be reached. We do not know the interaction between all parts of this formula: the number of people on earth with the amount of air, oxygen, nitrogen, ozone, with the amount of flora and fauna, and so on. All this is inherent in nature, somewhere inside it. Academician Vernadsky spoke about this 100 years ago.

Question: Does it mean that we cannot change the usual course of natural events?

Answer: According to scientific data, this is the problem we, in principle, cannot do anything.

Obviously, we can somehow slow down the fatal development of this process for us, but nothing more. This is what science says today. That is, there is no clear solution. Therefore, someone is in favor of limiting emissions, and someone else says: “It will not change anything.”

Someone is in favor of switching from petroleum sources to other types of energy resources. But, on the other hand, they cost us many times more because at the same time we have to fertilize the soil and introduce such bad chemical potential into it that it is unknown what consequences it will have in the end.

That is, from the point of view of science, we do not have a clear justification at hand that this is our mistake, our problem; we are the reason that nature is changing so much in relation to us.

Moreover, it is impossible just to do it. If the industrial revolution has begun in China, and it has turned into a huge industrial power in 20-30 years, then, of course, this affects the environment and possibly causes the very snowfalls in Europe. Who knows? We do not understand the whole picture.

Everyone can speak very beautifully, but there is no clear scientific data. Only if we add the opinion of Kabbalah to this.

The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about this in a completely different way. It is closer to scientists like Vernadsky who believe that we bring a great discrepancy to the world with our thoughts or rather with our incorrect interaction with each other.
