My Thoughts On Twitter 4/2/19

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

The receiving of the Torah took place at the foot of Mount Sinai, i.e., in the lowest state of man. And when one agrees to remain in that state, without asking for anything in return, with joy, although he feels incomplete, he receives the light that reforms—#Torah.

Separation from the Creator manifests to the extent that there is egoism.
When all of one’s intentions are to bestow, one deems oneself nothing, that there is only the Creator’s authority, and one wishes only to bestow everything to Him. Hence one receives everything—in order to give the intention of bestowal, to delight the Creator, over what one receives.

If one wishes to delight the Creator, he must increase bestowal, meaning increase the Creator’s greatness in order to annul oneself more and act only for the Creator’s sake. That is, one must acquire faith, which manifests to the extent of the Creator’s greatness in him and pushes him toward bestowal, giving fulfillment in bestowal.

The Creator created a desire the size of a black point in infinite white light. The white light symbolizes the Creator’s greatness, while the black point symbolizes the size of creation. However, if creation properly evaluates the Creator’s greatness and wishes to fill Him, its point develops to the proportion of the white light.

Small Efforts, Huge Corrections

laitman_962.3The person’s work consists of revealing the Creator who is concealed because of our broken desires. We have to correct our qualities, make them similar to the Creator’s qualities, meaning, prepare them for His revelation. This is how we bring Him pleasure and also realize the purpose of creation and of our lives.

We already exist in the field of the Creator, but in order for us to feel it, we have to begin with the action called subjugation. To do so, one must reduce his egoistic desire to nothing and agree with all that is happening, understanding that it is given to us for our own good. Nothing exists in this world besides the upper light. This is how we begin to establish contact with the Creator.

Subjugation lets us enter into connection with the Creator and begin to develop, enhance, and broaden it in all directions, eventually achieving full revelation of the Creator and adhesion with Him. Subjugation is the first condition in order to achieve contact with the field of the upper light that we exist in without even realizing it.1

Why is it that we cannot just study, but must spend the majority of our time on material concerns, day jobs, etc., and resolve all sorts of corporeal problems?

Applying even the smallest effort to connect, we perform major corrections in the world because we perform them in conditions of terrible confusion. Fake news, advertisements, fears, and worry about everything that is happening in the world, plunging stock prices in the stock-market, falling bombs are perpetual problems. And all of it is done so that we can exert efforts in the midst of this mess and correct the world.

In the conditions of such disorder, huge turmoil, and obstacles, when we are able to exert even a smallest effort toward correction, it is counted as a huge contribution. Therefore, we cannot feel that the world interferes with our spiritual work; on the contrary, it helps us. If we had ideal conditions, free from all material concerns, we would never be able to correct anything in spirituality.

A long time ago, Kabbalists sat and secretly studied in solitude. But that was just a preparation. The further we move toward general, true correction, the more disorderly the world will become and the Kabbalists will have more and more problems. The chaos in the world works in our favor because if we exert small efforts while in the states of all these disturbances, they are counted as tremendous and produce significant corrections.2

Does Wealth And Poverty Interfere With Kabbalah?

laitman_566.02Question: You once said that the Creator gives wealth in order to distance Himself. But poverty also alienates people from spirituality because all strength and thoughts go to feeding themselves and their families. Do wealth and poverty interfere with Kabbalah?

Answer: No. Everything depends on how a person, despite wealth or poverty, relates himself to the highest governance, realizing that the Creator gives him exactly what is necessary for his soul. Even if I do not understand why He gives me conditions such as wealth or poverty, which in principle hinder me in my smooth movement toward the goal, I justify it because I received it from the Creator. Moreover, probably, from the point of view of the root of my soul, it is justified, natural, and absolutely balanced.

Question: So, such an understanding helps me steer away from constant thoughts of where to get money?

Answer: No, I also regard this as a spiritual work.

laitman_281.02Question: What is the difference between the creation at the beginning and the completion of correction? Is it the degree of awareness or the degree of similarity?

Answer: Consciousness and similarity (attainment) are the same thing.

Question: If we become similar to the Creator and achieve adhesion with Him, can we also create something that never existed, actually something from nothing?

Answer: No. You can create something that did not exist from elements that already exist. This means that you can correct your uncorrected desires and create correct desires.

Question: Must I ask the Creator to reveal the evil in me in order to feel the right attitude toward goodness?

Answer: Not at all! A person never needs to ask for the revelation of evil in himself. He should only ask for goodness: for revealing the good in himself. When a little goodness is revealed in you, you will see how next to it, appears evil.

Question: What is the difference between Adam and the concept of the Shechina (Divinity)?

Answer: Adam is the desires created by the Creator. The Shechina is the light that fulfills these desires. The Shechina is called the desire filled with light. The Shechina is Malchut and the Shochen (dweller) is what fulfills the desires: the light, the Creator.

Question: How can we feel that the Creator, in response to our request, corrects someone from egoism? What are the signs of a corrected person?

Answer: When you truly become higher than your friend, you will see how much your requests for him are fulfilled by the Creator.

Question: How can it be that in order to change my personal spiritual level so it will be +1, I need to connect more closely with other souls to the +1 level? It is a vertical, not a horizontal movement.

Answer: Vertical and horizontal are the same thing. You yourself do not change. It is only due to your connection with others.

Question: Is it possible to take an example from the physical manners of a teacher?

Answer: No. There is no need to take an example from what you see in me, even with your eyes. This is not good. It is unnecessary to learn anything from me other than one thing: perseverance on the way. All the rest is yours.

Question: They say that every person in this world has his own task, his own correction. Do Kabbalists not take others’ tasks upon themselves by connecting with other people?

Answer: No, this is impossible. How can I take on the correction of others ? I have my own personal properties. I can only correct myself.

New Life 187 – Ecclesiastes

New Life 187 – Ecclesiastes
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

King Solomon, the wisest of men, discovered the formula of eternal happiness within the laws of nature, which is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” In Ecclesiastes, it is concluded that happiness cannot be found in work, creativity, family, wisdom or knowledge. Today, we are discovering that everything, including materialism, is vanity and we are fatigued from the endless chase for pleasure. It is only through constantly bestowing to one another that we will feel the unlimited renewal of happiness and can touch eternity.
