The Commandment: “I Am The Lord, Your God”

610.2Question: The first commandment says: “I am the Lord, your God, Who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” Who is God? What is it?

Answer: It is the highest, intelligent, omnipotent, eternal, perfect force of nature.

We attribute it only to the nature of our world because we do not see more. In fact, it fills everything, includes the entire program of creation: the beginning, its goal, its realization, and its end.

All this together is called the Creator, and only in relation to us.

We cannot talk about the Creator, about God, about the upper force, that He is omnipotent, eternal, or give Him whatever epithets we want. They need to be played out, discussed, why they are exactly so and not different, why there are so many of them.

Therefore, without paying attention to these names, we can talk about Him, but only in relation to ourselves, as the great souls, the Kabbalists, knew Him and told us about Him.

Question: As the consequence of the commandment “I am the Lord your God,” the act of Creation: “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” takes place. What is the connection between them?

Answer: The manifestation of the Creator from above downward in relation to us in the act of Creation is the manifestation of the light from the world of infinity, which builds itself a vessel. This vessel is the original creation.

It is still far from the creation that should eventually be created because it is like a drop of seed and it is not clear whether something will develop from it or not. But it has almost everything in it, except matter. Therefore, it must be, so to speak, stuffed with everything necessary.

But all the information, absolutely all His properties, everything that is called “He Himself” is in this vessel.

Who Is The Creator?

Why Does The Creator Have Many Names?

583.01Question: If the Creator is one, unique, and distinctive, then why does He have so many names?

Answer: According to the way in which a person perceives the Creator, he gives Him names. And when he attains Him in his true form, then the name disappears completely and only a four-letter symbol remains, which speaks about the way in which we perceive Him in our feelings.

In other words, there is a root, or zero, discernment along with discernments 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Other than the root, each of them is one name of the Creator, meaning a revelation of the Creator within us. The root is the attribute of bestowal, which comes from the Creator, and then this enters our desire.

Question: Even when I feel that the Creator is cruel and I say that about Him, is this also a name for the Creator?

Answer: Yes, everything that you feel is a name of the Creator. Moreover, even what you are feeling now in your everyday life is the Creator and His revelation within your desires. Which is to say, even now “There is none else besides Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35).

A question arises: How is it possible to imagine the Creator apart from what is happening around us on the level of the still, vegetative, and animate of the world? It is a revelation of His attributes in relation to us. If we absorb all of this within ourselves correctly, then we will attain only a single root of bestowal.

Why Is The Creator Jealous Of Us

239Comment: “From what I hear from Michael Laitman, the Creator wants us to love Him. Not each other, no, but Him. This is just an excuse: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In fact, the Creator wants us to love Him. What kind of jealous Creator does Laitman have? ”

My Response: It is said that He is jealous, cruel in His jealousy. The Creator is jealous of everything that is not directed at Him. The fulfillment that comes to a person from the Creator is incomparable with anything. And if a person is distracted from this, then, of course, the Creator here expresses His jealousy.

Question: So the Creator tells us: “You have no idea how much I have prepared for you, and you are wasting your love …” So, He seems to be saying that earthly love does not exist?

Answer: It is only given to us in order to come to an unearthly love.

Question: And in order to turn us to Him, He gives us all kinds of suffering, pain, and so on?

Answer: He does not give that to us, He just shows us His love, which we reject. And we feel this love, rejected by us, as suffering. And that’s all.

Question: So only love comes from Him?

Answer: Yes. And if you reject it, you turn it into suffering.

Question: What to do? What does He call us to? We do not see Him, we do not know Him, and we do not feel Him.

Answer: It doesn’t matter. You are given the opportunity to position yourself as needed in relation to Him. There is nothing else in nature.

Question: But is it necessary or not necessary to fulfill the earthly feelings first?

Answer: They should help us to get closer to the connection between ourselves, and to organize this connection between ourselves as much as possible in the quality of bestowal and love.

Question: Is this the desire of the upper one?

Answer: Yes.

Question: And then He will stop being jealous?

Answer: There is no jealousy, this is a completely different level—the level of absolute love.

Does The Creator Have An Image?

251Question: I don’t understand your interpretation of the Creator. You call Him nature. Doesn’t this term contradict what the Torah refers to? After all, the Torah reveals the Creator’s nature as a personality, as an image.

Answer: Not at all. If you see things this way you will reach idolatry.

The Creator has no image. It is the power of love and bestowal, which fills all of creation. Above that there is the power called Atzmuto, which symbolizes the fact that it is above any connection to the created beings and so we cannot call it by any name.

All the adjectives that refer to Him, (terrible, awful, etc.) all stem from our perception, just as a small child calls his father or mother bad, but they actually show their attitude toward him this way in order to invoke the right reactions and actions in him by that, and this is how they try to stabilize him. But the parents actually don’t have any such attributes.

Question: What does it mean when we say that the Creator is nature?

Answer: Nature is everything we are in. One of the Creator’s names is God. In numerology the word “God” equals the word “nature.” There are many references to this in Kabbalah books.

Is There Pride In The Creator?

570Question: Is there any pride in the Creator?

Answer: The Creator does not have properties inherent to human beings because He has no desire to receive. He specifically created pride, envy, and hatred in us so that we could correctly realize the desire to receive. This is the correction.

Question: So, is pride a normal state?

Answer: This is a very good property, if used correctly. The most important thing is the goal, which determines the means. Pride, envy, and shame are all means. That is what it says: “His heart will be proud on the path to the Creator.”

In other words, I can be proud of the fact that the higher system chose me in order to pull others along with me.

Is The Creator Really Kind?

202.0Comment from a Viewer: “You say: ‘The Creator is good.’ My son was killed in a car accident, he was 17 years old. This is called ‘The good Creator’?! I will never forgive Him!”

My Response: I understand you. So many people who have experienced such suffering like you think the same way as you do. But nothing can be done. When you will see the whole perspective, then in the entire history of mankind you will not find a single person who, after everything is revealed, could blame the Creator.

In the meantime, nothing can be done.

Question: What is it? Why is a person given a correction?

Answer: By such accidents, which the Creator Himself naturally exposes to people, He corrects them.

Question: Can a person in this state suddenly change slowly in relation to the Creator? Or will he be in this hatred all the time?

Answer: No, he can do it, but of course, if he is helped from above.

Question: What are we correcting? When we say: “Given for correction,”—what?

Answer: We correct our attitude to life, to death, to chance, to the Creator. We correct our attitude to ourselves. The most important thing we correct is our attitude to the universe, to everything. This includes everything.

If a person relates all this to the upper force and understands what it does against his reason and desire, but it is all done anyway in justice and for the best, then he is corrected by this.

Question: And he can get out of such states?

Answer: Yes, he can.

How To Keep The Gains?

294.4Everything will pass—and the grain of hope will not grow,
Everything you have saved up will be lost for nothing
If you don’t share it with a friend in time –
All your possessions will go to your enemy.
Omar Khayyam

This is how it will be. If we leave this world without giving away everything we have, internal gains as well as external, will all go to the Klipot.

Question: What does it mean to give it away, to give to a friend? Not just to give it away, but give it to a friend.

Answer: To someone who can use it correctly. This means that he will continue with you, follow you, move closer to the Creator so that he would constantly find the image of the Creator in connection with others.

There is no Creator. When we get closer to each other, we begin to feel that such a force exists.

Question: Your statement “There is no Creator” kills everyone. It’s all over the Internet. You’ve completely confused people. What do you mean?

Answer: In the image in which people imagine the Creator, He does not exist in this. This is an absolutely false idea about life and death, about the Creator, about the issue of punishment. It is all so invented and distorted. And people live by these false impressions, build their lives around it.

Question: When can one say that there is a Creator?

Answer: When one discovers, in spite of one’s own egoism and the egoism of others, the existence of a force that is above it—a kind, loving force. Then a person understands that this is the Creator.

Is There A God Or Not?

276.02Question: How does one respond to internal questions about the existence of God? Does He exist or not? Does this question occur to you?

Answer: No, it does not occur. There is no God.

Question: How does one respond to such a question?

Answer: If there is no God, there is no question.

Question: Maybe we need to find something else, some law or something? How could it be that there is nothing and that’s it?

Answer: Call God the universe and its basic law that includes absolutely everything. Call it the Creator.

There is a force, a central, eternal, and perfect force above which we do not know what is happening. Kabbalah restricts this and says, “Only after complete correction will such qualities arise in you and enable you to rise up and begin to explore the Creator himself. So, you will explore the upper force of the world, which affects you and the entire material world.

Please explore it, reach its level, and then we will talk. After all, today you will not be able to understand what is happening there because here you need a different mind, different feelings, and different qualities.

Striving To Attain The Creator

527.03When a person asks about the meaning of life, this question leads him to a search. Where did I come from? What am I for? Why do I exist? In principle, this question involuntarily directs us toward the revelation of the source of our existence, the Creator.

The Creator is not a god sitting somewhere on a cloud. It is nature that surrounds us and rules us. Unconsciously, we are constantly within His power and fulfill His desires, instructions, and laws.

The Creator, or the highest form of nature, its highest stage, is the property of goodness, bestowal, and love; an absolute property which includes all of creation. We do not yet feel it, but we are trying to reveal it.

The question regarding the meaning of life brings each of us to a search for the Creator, for the source, and for the reason for our existence. If I do not answer this question, then my whole life will become aimless, meaningless, and hateful. What should I do? Therefore, I start to look for the way to reveal the Creator.

This takes millennia; people engage in all kinds of systems of study including philosophy as well as other spiritual practices. Humanity has become lost in this because there are about 2,800 types of religions, beliefs, and teachings. None of them are based on anything; they are intended for a person to convince himself of their alleged truth and thus be able to exist.

However, there is a very interesting science called, “the science of revealing the Creator, ”that aims to reveal the Creator to a man in our world. Neither other sciences, nor religions, nor other beliefs or methods, set such a goal for themselves. This is known as the science of Kabbalah.

People who come to it are already prepared or partially prepared for this. But, they are also inside the process. As they begin to study Kabbalah, they go through many different stages that sift them as if through a sieve. Only a few really reach the revelation of the Creator. But, in our time, this, in principle, has been prepared for everyone. Therefore, everyone is invited.

How To Make Creation Perfect?

610.2The Creator has a big problem—He is perfect. How can He create something outside of Himself that is also perfect? Moreover, if He is perfect, then how can there be anything other than Him? And if there is something and it must necessarily be like the Creator, then what about His perfection? This raises a dilemma.

From our point of view, the Creator seems to be in a state of incomprehension, what is happening in general? What should He do with creation?

It turns out that in order for creation to be perfect, it must be created opposite to the Creator so that this opposite is realized in the likeness of Him. And although initially creation is the opposite, meaning absolutely imperfect, as a result of its transformation, it will become similar to the Creator.

Creation must take over from the Creator His perfection and clothe itself in it. Then both of them will be equal in external expression, and this will lead them to complete adhesion, similarity to each other, to complete love and reciprocity.

But inside creation there will still remain a point that is absolutely opposite to the Creator, meaning the desire to enjoy, think, and take care only of oneself. And in this way creation will be different from the Creator.

Therefore, the perfection of the Creator is in His nature of full bestowal and love. And the perfection of creation will manifest itself when it becomes similar to the Creator.
