My Thoughts On Twitter 3/18/20

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

It is important to believe and not forget, both in thoughts and in feelings, that everything I receive and sense, all this comes to me, is sent to me, by the Creator. That it’s the Creator constantly addressing me so that I would ask Him for help, for cooperation, to escape the exile that is being disconnected from sensing the Creator.

In the past every person was for himself and against others. The virus has separated us and enabled us to start new reciprocal relationships—good connections. We don’t understand this yet. The clock is ticking, the virus is waiting, and the opportunity is disappearing. Hence nature will spur us on toward the proper relationships with greater impact.

The Wisdom Of King Solomon: “Who Can Endure Jealousy?”

Laitman_154Proverbs, 27:4: “Cruelty of wrath, and destruction of anger, but who can stand up before jealousy?”

Wrath is a natural phenomenon, so is anger. But jealousy means comparing yourself with someone or somebody comparing me with someone else. This is horrible! In other words, it is the deepest defeat of egoism.

When somebody tells me that I am wrong, well, I am wrong, in relation to something abstract.

However, when somebody places me next to someone and says that I am nothing compared to him or her, then that’s is. If a person cannot get around it, forget it, drop it, and so on, then there is only one thing left to do: fight against it.

One either destroys the one who said that or destroys the one he is compared with. It is even better to destroy both of them.

Question: This is the most terrible state. What should we do when someone has such a feeling?

Answer: There is nothing we can do. It is necessary to rise to the degree where these laws of nature originate. There, we will see their cause and their correct implementation.

Question: What is the reason for jealousy?

Answer: It is my egoism. That is, I am the victim. I was hurt, my ego. And without it, I cannot live. I have to do something here: either kill myself or kill him or her—one or the other. I cannot continue living like this.

Question: Can I be above this?

Answer: No. Well, I can, but this requires special education, training, psychological help and so on. Otherwise, if I remain in this, wait for murder.

Question: How do Kabbalists solve the issue of jealousy?

Answer: Kabbalists solve this issue very well. They believe that it is necessary to reveal the thought of the Creator: why you have received such a sign from Him and how you should rise above yourself through it. It turns out that you will thank the Creator for giving you such terrible feelings. In fact, they are only there in order to elevate you.

Question: You just said such a contradictory phrase: “The signs are terrible, and I am grateful for them.” Am I grateful for the terrible signs?

Answer: Of course. After all, they elevate me. This is why it is called “above our nature.” However, we need to go through this under supervision, in the group, and so on.

Question: Does a Kabbalist understand where this comes from and why? Then, is everything is  sweetened?

Answer: Yes. I recommend you to find a teacher who will help you overcome all the negative feelings. It is, in fact, possible.

All Problems In The World Are Sent To Oblige Us To Bring It To Balance

laitman_962.3Spirituality is attained only through connection. We are in the spiritual world, but we do not feel it; we feel only ourselves. Therefore, we need to make a leap in our perception, transferring it from the personal, in which everyone feels themselves in this world, to feeling existence within the upper force of bestowal and love, uniting all of us together in one vessel, one desire.

All souls come from the soul of Adam HaRishon because after the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, this soul was divided into 600,000 souls. And the one light that filled this vessel, one big desire, was divided into many parts, bodies, and private desires. Therefore, we see this world divided into billions of people with conflicting and fragmented desires. And if we want to reveal the spiritual world, the world of truth, we must unite.

That is why the first lesson of the 2020 World Kabbalah Convention is called “We Have Gathered Here”; there really is nothing else to do. If we gather and unite in one soul, as it was before the shattering of Adam HaRishon, before the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, we will return to the upper world, in a spiritual state, again becoming Adam HaRishon.

Therefore, a person has nothing to do in this world besides looking for ways to connect with others. And of course, this is against our nature, there is nothing more repulsive and opposite to it; therefore, we do not want to hear about it. But the Creator, the upper light, with infinite patience, acts on us again and again to teach us that nothing will change for the better until we decide to unite in a positive way.

Humanity is learning. People still do not understand what is happening to us, but the impressions of the global crisis and growing problems penetrate our senses, our memory, and whether we like it or not, they make us grow wiser and gain experience. Someday we will grow so wise that we will agree that there is no way out but to connect.

If we study the wisdom of Kabbalah, then what to do becomes clear to us. After all, we reveal not only the disease and its cause emanating from human egoism, but also a medicine that lets us hide from egoism. If I suffer a lot because of it, then I need to free myself from it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah helps us in this, we just need to organize a small group of like-minded people and attract the light that reforms. Kabbalah teaches us how our desires can connect with each other and work together, performing actions called “contraction,” “screen,” “reflected light,” “striking,” and “receiving for the sake of bestowal.” By studying what happens in our desires, we gradually correct ourselves. And when we learn and talk about it, the light that shines on us changes us gradually .

As the saying goes, “penny by penny accumulates to a large sum.” We have a system that can include us within itself, connect us with each other, and attract the light that reforms that will affect us. Even if we do not really want it now, in the end we will demand that the forces of bestowal, altruistic relations atop our egoism, be revealed between us.1

All souls come from the one soul of Adam created by the Creator. But after Adam sinned with the Tree of Knowledge, that is, the shattering of this one desire, which ceased to be like the Creator, it lost the altruistic intention and became selfish; it was divided into 600,000 individual souls. One light filled Adam HaRishon in the “Garden of Eden,” that is, in a state where he was united into one soul and retained the force of bestowal, Bina, within himself, disappeared after the shattering, and in every particle only its tiny spark remained.

Now that we find ourselves in bodies added to the fragments of the soul, we feel a desire to bring all spiritual sparks together. Therefore, we gather and work on our connection, thereby returning the upper light that will shine within us. But by returning, the light becomes 620 times stronger than before because we are acting against the distance that has arisen between us, and therefore we reach the integration with upper force, the Creator.2

One common desire was on the degree of Bina, which is called the soul, and when it shattered, it fell down to the degree of Malchut. We need to collect all the particles that fell into Malchut and elevate them to Bina, to the Garden of Eden. Malchut is called “this world,” and Bina is called “the future world.” Therefore, through our connection, we must elevate ourselves from this world, in which we now feel ourselves, to the “future world,” to the degree of Bina, where we feel our existence as eternal, perfect, without hardships and problems, all together, imbued with the power of bestowal and love for each other.3

The upper light strengthens its glow all the time, and when we feel this illumination from the spiritual power of bestowal and love, we feel more and more opposite to it. It turns out that every day we feel increasingly worse, the world becomes increasingly corrupt. There is nothing left but to correct ourselves and become similar to the force of bestowal that shines on us from above.

And therefore, we see this world in crisis, helpless, and not understanding what is happening. Perhaps all the volcanoes on earth will wake up tomorrow and begin to spew billions of tons of ash into the atmosphere so that we no longer see the sun. The world would freeze and plunge into darkness. But we ourselves activate these forces because we live in an integrated system and we must know how to bring the forces of nature into equilibrium. If we become kind to each other, then nature will become kind to us.

There is no other way to act on inanimate matter, plants and animals, on these forces in nature, if not through humans. Moreover, the person is a thought, an intention. The physical body is just an animal, but through our relationships with each other, we can elevate ourselves one step higher: from the animal level to the human. “Human – Adam” means “like the Creator [Adameh le Elyon].”

Therefore, we must understand that all the misfortunes and problems in the world are sent specifically to oblige us to move and begin to put the world in order, to establish equilibrium in it. To do so, we just need to approach each other and work on our egoism. Then from the human level, from the highest level of nature, we will oblige all other forces of nature, which are below us at the animate, vegetative and still levels, to enter into balance, and the whole world will find peace and happiness.4

The state of our Bnei Baruch world group is exceptional because out of all the billions of individual souls, we were chosen to be in the system of Israel, that is, directed “directly to the Creator,” which pulls humanity toward correction.5

Coronavirus—A Consequence Of The Imbalance Of Nature

laitman_761.3In connection with the coronavirus epidemic, the Israeli Ministry of Health has issued 11 rules of conduct, which calls on each of us to comply with the “mutual guarantee” law. Since this is a global catastrophe affecting everyone, we must be considerate of each other, which is called a guarantee.

Our mutual guarantee now is not to come close to each other and by doing so taking care of our neighbor. If we really care about each other, and realize that through our behavior we contribute to the common good, we will very quickly stop the epidemic.

The attention-grabbing coronavirus actually seems like a child’s toy, compared to future disasters. For example, a gradual shift of the Earth’s magnetic poles threatens to lead to a sharp change, as a result of which the ice age will return.

Why are we so worried about some kind of virus that is simply nothing compared to the further development of events? But the fact is that the coronavirus hits everyone personally. And if ice is approaching or the ocean rises several meters, I will not feel this effect on myself personally by checking my temperature or pulse.

It all depends on a person’s sensations. If swarms of locusts fly in and devour the entire crop from the fields, then we will come to the store and not see any products in it except that same locust: sugared locusts, salted locusts, etc. Only then we will get worried.

In the meantime, the focus is on coronavirus. It demonstrates to mankind our weakness and connection with each other, which is now manifesting in a negative form, since the disease is transmitted through it from one to another. But it also shows that if we want to act together, thoughtfully and consciously, we can protect ourselves from the virus.

The epidemic also cleanses us of all rubbish: we have stopped flying back and forth, doing unnecessary things. If the epidemic drags on for another year, then our lives will calm down, and we will only carry out necessary actions.

No one will run around shopping, buying clothes. Everyone will live in peace if only to be healthy. The virus locks us and we become good children. It turns out that this is not a virus but help from above.
The epidemic will affect politics and muffle all passions because why should we fight if we are all brothers in misfortune. Over whom should they strive to rule— over people who live on the verge of the most necessary?

And then new blows will come: clouds of locusts, mosquitoes, mice. We will not be able to fight them because of their huge number. And so our life will gradually take on a different look: from this we will learn how to live differently. Indeed, today human society is more like a financial bubble: every second company is an investment fund.

According to the laws of nature, no creature at the inanimate, plant, or animal level consumes more than is necessary for existence. We see predators, a leopard or a wolf devour prey, but they do this in order to survive, and do not take too much.

And a person also has to live, consuming only the essentials, and give the rest to the benefit of society, and precisely what is really good for him, and not confuse society with all sorts of stupid things.

Human society is obliged to come to such a form of material life, which corresponds to the animal level. The animal body must live like all animals, that is, consume only for the sake of survival. And you don’t need to take anything from nature anymore, everything else should be directed only to spiritual actions, to the work of the Creator.

We produce products, 90% of which no one needs. Everything is organized in chains, where each produces its part and transfers to the other, and the very last in the chain throws everything away so that the whole process can be started anew.

The whole modern world is built in this form, otherwise we will not be able to earn. We earn only by squeezing all the natural resources from the earth. You cannot live on like this, we are destroying the environment.

The egoism that guides us every moment has led us to such a life that is already impossible to tolerate. We ourselves dig our own graves. The angel of death holds a drop of poison on the edge of the sword, and you obediently swallow it and die.

What is the way out? To study what Kabbalah speaks of, to correct our thoughts, and with these thoughts we will correct the world. When there will be many people with the correct thoughts, then it will be possible to translate them into material actions. But our thoughts themselves already work!

To give to society is first of all to study what genuine bestowal means and in what form the society must exist in order to comply with the law of nature. Everything clears up in thought.

Man himself, through his efforts and self-restraint, must reach the state in which the animals live, that is, not to consume more than vitally necessary for life. And we must direct the rest of our energy and mind to the unification among ourselves.

The coronavirus epidemic and all other problems are the consequence of imbalance in our lives. If we lived in the material plane as animals, not consuming more than necessary for our animalistic body, and all our spiritual efforts were directed toward understanding the Creator, then life would be beautiful.

But we bring in a distortion, striving in our egoism to rule over the whole world, to empty the globe and squeeze out all natural resources from it. And therefore nature, getting out of balance, shows us all these problems: biological problems in the form of a coronavirus, or volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or tsunamis. All these cataclysms are caused by the imbalance that we create in nature.

We must limit ourselves to use nature only to the extent necessary, as the science of Kabbalah teaches. And all the other powerful forces, time, huge mind, and desire that a person is endowed with, apply only to correct society, to make it a tool for revealing the Creator.

These days human society is acting in the opposite direction from the revelation of the Creator, and by this we naturally cause all problems, and the coronavirus is only the beginning.

The era of the Messiah, in which we are already live, should bring us many new revelations. Let’s hope that thanks to our efforts, these revelations will be good, but so far, unfortunately, it is doubtful…

Let’s try to quickly learn and convey to all of humanity the cause of all viruses caused by the mismatch of human society with the general law of nature, which consists of equilibrium. This is simple physics, not faith, but the law of nature.

“Coronavirus: A Lesson In Humility” (KabNet)

KabNet published my new article: “Coronavirus: A Lesson in Humility

This is not the first time humanity faces a frightening pandemic, but COVID-19 or coronavirus is undoubtedly one of a kind. No other health crisis in the past washed over the entire world like a tsunami leaving basically no corner of the planet unaffected. The reason for this is that never before has the world been so interconnected and interdependent as now. Such a closed and entangled system in nature is teaching us that we will either succumb separately or thrive together. This is the strong lesson the coronavirus crisis is showing us.

The Black Death, SARS, and the most deadly pandemic so far, the Spanish flu, which killed around 50 million people worldwide in 1918, were widespread disease outbreaks that deeply impacted humanity. But there has never before been a blow such as the coronavirus, so broad and global in scope, grabbing everyone together, turning our lives upside down in a blink of an eye. The travel bans that immediately swept the world froze our obsession with globetrotting, no matter where, just as long as we were able to escape. Our perspective on money has also changed since the crisis, making us reevaluate our priorities in life. Our endless consumerism and compulsive quest for leisure suddenly paused and, most likely and fortunately, will never return to what it was. We will need to adapt to a new lifestyle, more basic, settled and wise.

“The situation is showing the whole world how weak and vulnerable humans are in the face of nature. It is a lesson in humility, when we previously felt that reality was at our fingertips for our own use, and that we had the right to exploit anything and everything around us without consideration of others.”

The War on Our Nature

In addition to pandemics, wars have also left devastation behind them in various parts of the planet generation after generation. Previously, the world divided into camps to fight its conflicts: Germans and those against Germany, Russians and Americans, Chinese and Westerners, Iranians and Israelis. Now, the entire world has become one village, and the coronavirus has proven just that. In comparison to previous ones, this crisis is affecting all of humanity without making any distinctions of background, origin, beliefs or status in society. Simple people, government officials, spouses of world leaders, and celebrities—no one is immune to the contagious.

The situation is showing the whole world how weak and vulnerable humans are in the face of nature. It is a lesson in humility, when we previously felt that reality was at our fingertips for our own use, and that we had the right to exploit anything and everything around us without consideration of others.

Nothing in nature happens by chance. The current situation offers humanity a new direction and fresh outlook since now the problem is not aimed at any specific country, region, or leader, as was the case in the past. This time, we are all navigating the trouble waters in the same boat, and we need to recognize that the only enemy to fight is our selfish, egoistic nature, the source of the world’s imbalance. Viruses and other problems of the ecosystem are the direct result of the damage that humans inflict on the system of nature through reckless and abusive behavior, both to the system and to others. In truth, all are integral parts of the same world, which functions as an enormous mesh of interconnected cogwheels.

A Cure for Mankind

There is no prohibition on enjoyment and pleasure in life. Our desire for pleasure is the fabric of our nature and its fulfillment is precisely the purpose of creation: to do good and bring contentment to its creations. The question is: to what purpose do we enjoy, and more importantly, at expense of what or whom?

Therefore, as painful and unnerving as the pandemic may seem, the coronavirus can really become a cure for humanity’s ills if we learn its primary lesson: the only angel of death is the human ego, and until we rise above it, we will never enjoy a good life. We have been given an awakening to change paths and connect with each other so that together we can unleash the positive force of nature that becomes revealed through our harmonious relationships. This world-changing revelation is a reason for gratitude.

The Essence And The Root Of Unity, Part 2

laitman_258Kabbalah Does Not Operate with Numbers

Comment: Kabbalah, as a rule, speaks of some kind of qualitative condition. For example, historians write that three million people left Egypt, of which 600,000 were men, and the rest were women and children. But Kabbalah doesn’t operate with numbers at all. Gematria is a qualitative quantity.

It is possible that it was not three million people that left Egypt since this figure means a certain qualitative quantity.

My Response: A certain pattern exists in which the potential states of spiritual forces, described in the primary sources, must materialize at least once.

Historians and archaeologists look for this via their own sources, measure it by their standards, weigh it in grams and kilograms, translate it into kilometers, and therefore, they do it a bit differently.

Question: How should we use such information? Suppose I read that several thousand years ago there was an exodus from Egypt. But I’m not a historian and I’m not interested in this. How can I use this for my own good?

Answer: We are talking about the ascent above our egoism, which is performed by a group of people who strive for this. In our time, as well as in those days, this is accomplished via the same actions, efforts, and unification among people called mutual guarantee.

It makes no difference whether you existed 3,000 years ago and thus rose from egoism, meaning “exited Egypt,” or today where you do it in a group of people, in the ten, whether here or at the other end of the world. After all, we have many groups that work in different countries and speak different languages.

The Land Of Israel: Dispersion And Assimilation, Part 2

laitman_944To Absolute Connection

Question: When people consciously draw closer to each other rising above their egoism, then, as a result, they begin to feel the single law of nature. What is this law?

Answer: We exist in a single system called “Nature” or “The Creator.” To the extent that we, in spite of our egoism, are similar to this system, we feel communication between us and this system and can exist in a sensible and good way.

This is the whole of Kabbalah. We must reach the correct interaction between us in order to begin feeling this vast system, that is, this upper world in which we exist, and gradually become more and more similar to the laws, principles, and rules of this world. In other words, we must interact with each other so that we will bring ourselves to the state of absolute connection.

When we begin to unite, we feel the manifestation of this single law, the single force, between us. However, if we do not do this, the second, completely opposite law is activated—the negative force that pushes us toward unity. This is the opposite side of the Creator.

“Who Are Better Managers: Men Or Women?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Who are better managers: men or women?

There is a saying that states, men change the world, while women improve it.

Women indeed organize the planet. The natural inclination of a female is to make everything as calm and comfortable as if it is at home.

The case is different for men.

Men need official recognition of their power. It is more intrinsic for men to push through boundaries, induce changes, and sometimes engage in extreme methods.

Women, as a rule, operate differently. In terms of the female desire for stability, women are better suited to manage the world. However, if we want to reach balanced and continuous development, both males and females should engage in management.

The perfect balance between the two different approaches can be observed in a family, where the wife commands in an indirect manner, and the husband carries out the commands. This is what said in the Torah: “Whatever Sarah tells you, do as she says” (Gen. 21:12).

As far as I’m concerned, I would place women in all leading positions, even in the military, except for hard army execution. However, in our current conditions, everything depends on the environment’s needs. If there is an understanding that for a particular purpose, either a male or a female manager is preferable, then the environment brings such a need to fruition.

A question that envelops the question about men or women being better managers is: Can we make the workplace function as a perfectly balanced family?

It would be complicated for today’s mixed teams. To make it work, we need a group of wise people who understand male and female natures and can guide the teams in terms of how to overcome their personal gender relations, so they could work neither as men nor as women, but according to a middle line for a common goal.

The middle line is the most effective and correct cooperation between male and female forces. Also, working in the middle line is not one-time execution. It is an ongoing process that we constantly have to work on.

The personnel group would need one or two people, or even better, a designated couple who will constantly maintain balance between male and female approaches among group relations.

Realizing the nature of both men and women, fitting them into a perfect middle line, where women remain women and men remain men, but together they rise above their natural qualities, means building a completely new balanced social construct.

Therefore, we have no need to measure whether men or women are better managers, but we should learn how to create the middle line by choosing a correct combination of our actions.

Reassessing The Desires

laitman_624.04Comment: After I started studying Kabbalah, a lot has changed in my life. I reassessed my values and desires.

My Response: Indeed, a person who starts studying Kabbalah is ready to lower his expectations from this life to a normal minimal level. Food, shelter, and family is all one needs at the corporeal level.

You should not be rushing for corporeal goals. You should yearn for the attainment of the perfect and eternal state, which you see before you as possible to achieve.

Everything else is temporary and will fade away in any case. In this regard, the wisdom of Kabbalah helps a person position himself correctly toward the values that he can get in our world.
