Question: When there is a desire to fill a friend, we forget about ourselves. In theory, should this desire alone be enough to somehow annul myself?

Answer: Yes, perhaps, for now. Probably that will change later. What does it mean to fill a friend? It means that you are prepared to sacrifice everything if only he receives what he wants.

Question: Is my desire to fill the friend egoistic?

Answer: It does not matter that it is egoistic. At the moment I do not check whether or not it is egoistic. I am not in the position yet to weight egoism and altruism. I am prepared to fill the friend with what he wants. This is called love for him.

Then, there are degrees, which I will climb and discover that this is egoistic love, and in fact, not even of the friend, but of myself, that I satisfy my desires in this way.

We learn that the love for one’s friend is only possible above self-hatred. One must feel self-hatred and to the same extent feel the love for others. This will then be the love for a friend and not for my new desire because this is self-deception.

Answer: You are missing.

Question: Does this mean I am not ready yet?

Answer: Do not say that you are not ready. The fact that you were brought here is a sign that you are ready. Now it all depends on your efforts. Do not try to justify yourself that you are not ready. You are purposely given obstacles to prevent you from making the necessary efforts. You must make them, you should plea, persuade, demand to be united in one ten by any means. That’s what you must now do. Otherwise, you would not have ended up here.

Do not say: “Another congress has passed. I don’t know what lies ahead. Maybe next time …,” or any other excuses.

This is given to you from above! These are not your thoughts! Do not scold yourself for them, a man has no thoughts. Everything comes from above, and therefore, relate all the obstacles to the Creator. Do not comply with Him. This is called “help against you.” He is purposely pushing you away in order for you to develop the right desire for unity with Him in quantity and quality.

Question: How should I grow my desire for spirituality? You are saying that it is possible to attach to myself the desires for spirituality of the others. Is there some kind of mechanism on how to do that?

Answer: Only in the form of self-annulment. You will not be able to acquire anything without annulling yourself. This is how you will suddenly begin to feel that this action allows you to absorb completely new qualities within yourself.

Question: How can one distinguish what desire it is?

Answer: Let’s say, you see a friend whose behavior you dislike. Annul yourself and begin to associate with his behavior, with his actions. Act as if you agree with and go along with him. Try to work on yourself in this way! Then you will begin to receive completely new, previously unknown sensations to you. This is what is called connecting with friends.

Look at the others—you dislike one thing about this one, another thing about that one. Try to annul yourself, to agree with the friend, to be together with him in his action, and you will see how this enriches you, how you are connecting with him. This is how the common Kli (vessel) in which the Creator appears is gradually revealed.

I can twist my head and body horizontally to see everyone and absorb them into myself. What should I twist vertically? What should I do to do a complete job?

Answer: You have to constantly twist yourself in all directions, i.e., constantly dodging, in order to connect with friends above all obstacles.

Imagine that the Creator constantly creates difficulties and problems for you, twists you around. You must dodge, twist and turn and act contrary to Him. This is a help against you. His main job is to create problems for us because we will not grow without them.

Question: There is a rule in the Kabbalistic group: everyone is perfect except me. Does this proceed from what was said in the Talmud that everyone judges to the extent of his corruption?

Should I prepare myself in advance so that if I see negative qualities in my friends, I must understand that they are in me? But this is pretty odd; it is against our nature!

Answer: It is against our nature until we attract the upper light, which attunes us.

In other words, I have to, with the help of the upper light, reach a state when I will feel that everything negative I see outside myself is merely a demonstration of my own corrupted qualities that I have to correct as they gradually reveal themselves in me. In fact, there are still millions of repulsive properties in me, but only those that I can correct now are shown to me.

Question: But how does it happen? After all, I see that I cannot do this!

Answer: That is good.

Of primal importance in Kabbalah are the contradictions revealed between a person and his egoism, that is, between the right and left line, between what is real and what is desired. When I see in the other what is unpleasant to me, I must understand that I judge this only to the extent of my corruption.

That is why I must think, ask, and pray for my correction.

Question: The Creator creates material and spiritual disturbances for us. Are these disturbances connected with us in any way?

Answer: Yes, they are. There are times when souls are more in need of either material or spiritual disturbances. Moreover, a material disturbance is not just a lack of livelihood. It can be diseases, drugs, problems with ecology, with anything, not to mention money and everything else.

These disturbances are not on the spiritual, but on the physical level, on matter. Therefore, our world is called material. All humanity experiences such disturbances.

Spiritual disturbances are unique and virtuous, when the Creator limits us in rapprochement between us and in rapprochement with Him in our connection. They lead us straight to the goal. Therefore, we need to replace material disturbances with spiritual ones since a person goes from spiritual disturbances directly to the goal.

We must learn to perceive them correctly. We will then have no problems. I will rejoice in constantly arising spiritual problems.

I do not want friends, I reject them, I do not want to get up, to come to the lessons, to smile at someone. All these are spiritual disturbances. This is how the Creator gives me the opportunity to overcome them and connect even more with my friends each time.

Question: What is better: to sit in the group with friends when one of them is in constant spiritual descent and worries, or is it preferable to be closer to the Creator when you are in joy and aspiration? Or these are different revelations?

Answer: These are really different states. You cannot say which one is better and which one is worse. What the Creator gives you at any given moment means that this is what is necessary for your specific correction. You just need to understand how to use any state as productively as possible.

Answer: It means that I constantly care about connecting with them. When I aspire to that, then I feel them in my aspiration: what I should connect to, what I should adhere to, what I should belong to.

Therefore, I no longer feel myself but my aspiration for them, the desire to feel them. It is an internal movement of the senses.

Question: Should I feel the aspiration of a friend?

Answer: You must feel your desire to connect with a friend.

Each Kabbalistic group in the world should work in order to serve as the foundation for the upcoming congress in Bulgaria. The soul of Adam HaRishon, the common body, contains many different properties, each of which cannot be neglected. Everyone must annul themselves before the others in order to achieve connection, but at the same time, one does not cancel one’s individuality, character, and strength. On the contrary, a person must show this unique desire for unification granted to them and be an example for everyone so that they would also want to serve as an example. The result is a common connection.

Everyone must grow for the common unification. Everyone cares about how to help others, how to help them maximize their special nature so that all qualities are clear, bright, and burning, showing all the differences and all the connections between them. The differences between us grow as our relations with each other develop.

This is practical work for all groups and individual students. Everyone has to do this before the congress. Mere physical organization of the congress is insufficient. All groups and individuals in Europe must be awakened so that everyone feels that they are an important, vibrant part of the European system. Otherwise, we will be incapable of creating a common spiritual vessel (Kli).

The purpose of the congress is to create a central Kli of the world soul made up of European students. All material prerequisites for this exist because of the revelation of major egoistic contradictions requiring correction specifically in Europe.

Our mutual connection grows as we care about improving the common world group, strengthening and expanding the ties between all the groups in order to overcome everything that divides us as a result of the Babylonian separation—psychological and spiritual differences, different languages—rising above everything, and covering it with love. With the help of the connection between us, everyone will correctly rise on his personal spiritual path.

From now on, it is impossible to build a single spiritual Kli without concern for common unification. The main goal is a common connection, which obliges each group in any country to grow in the right form.

The era of personal development, when an individual soul could rise, has ended. Wherever a group is formed—in Novosibirsk, in Berlin, or in Italy—not one of them can grow individually. All of its corrections, development, and spiritual strength, starting from today, will depend only on the awakening of the collective Kli. It will be felt more and more. This is what our current time demands.

By establishing ties between us, asking for help, and helping each other, we revive the system of Adam HaRishon. We will begin to feel our interdependence and our obligation to take care of everyone.

This is a new stage of the work. Its result will be each individual Kli being able to grow correctly, developing its individual character and contribution to the system. We will feel how the common soul begins to function and breathe.

We cannot do otherwise. The stage of separate tens and groups has passed and ended. A new and special stage of advancement has begun. We will feel a stronger manifestation of the upper force through the general system, how it guides us and operates on us.

This is a very important stage for approaching the Creator because He will be felt within all groups.

Therefore, remaining in our tens, we have to start taking care of all the groups, the common spiritual Kli, and the system of the common soul of Adam. That is where the Creator will be revealed.¹

The group is a tool. We must calibrate it. As we turn the knob on a radio, tuning it to a certain wave, we must in the same way turn all the members of the group so they would connect with one another, and in their unity, the mutual, common integral force will manifest. This will be the Creator. Therefore, everyone’s participation is very important. Each one individually is very important as well.

Question: Why are tens of thousands of the quintessential historical examples of the manifestation of egoism and evil not enough to come to the need for correction? Why reveal egoism between ten unfamiliar people? What can we reveal there?

Answer: The egoism that you reveal every day in relation to your loved ones and all the others is not the ego that we are talking about.

Egoism is what interferes when you want to connect in the ten in order to reveal the Creator.

Therefore, we should study the qualities of connection to know them. By connecting correctly in the ten, we receive the manifestation of egoism. In further work on the ego in order to rise above it for the sake of revealing the Creator, both egoism and the Creator are revealed.
