From Poverty To Extreme Wealth

laitman_566.01Remark: Today, technological entrepreneurship is being cultivated in Israel. It is believed that a person with an interesting idea could jump from the status of a beggar to extreme wealth. For that reason, the future seems rosy and prosperous.

My Comment: This is the same American Dream! Everything was open before the first settlers who arrived in America. They were poor, but nothing was prohibited—by all means, do whatever you wish. Absolute freedom of enterprise. If you have the brains and an idea, all the routes were open to you. Today, it is no longer that easy. Money, language, and work permit—and you are a king.

Question: Nowadays, in different circles pursuing technological development, each person believes that they are next—they will make a career, earn billions, and start to live well. Is such faith realistic?

Answer: Today, this is still possible in high-tech since it is still held by the brilliance of the mind. There must be an idea. It can arise even in someone who is poor. Or in someone who has not even been educated, for example, like the student Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, the social networking site.

Brilliant ideas come more from Jews since their minds are arranged this way. They are intended for correct spiritual, not corporeal work. But for the time being they are not being used for their intended purpose.

Question: Are the prospects of implementing these ideas favorable from the point of view of the elite?

Answer: The elite know how to clip coupons from everything. If they were not interested in this, nothing would exist. They would have crushed everyone.

Who legalized drugs? At first they banned cigarettes: “They are so bad for you! We cannot agree with the fact that our society smokes.” And then they replaced them with drugs. In five or ten years, we will see how they will gradually get the entire population to be hooked on drugs.

Remark: I remember how in 2002 smoking was already forbidden in a hotel in Las Vegas and all the windows were closed. Back then it seemed so fantastic to me how much they were taking care of people’s health. And you said: “A strategic program is being implemented to replace smoking, which will transition into smoking drugs.”

My Comment: It was clear to see where this was heading. Nothing in the world happens just like that.

When Opportunities Do Not Coincide With Desires

Laitman_079.01Baal HaSulam, The Writings Of The Last Generation: Ultimately, the diligent class will put to death all the elderly and handicapped who eat and do not work, or even if they eat more than they can work, as it is detrimental to society, as it is known that they have no sentiments.

That is absolutely true! When a person lives to a certain age or can no longer bring real benefit, he is treated as if nobody needs him, let alone the sick.

This would be the natural development of capitalism if it continued. But in principle, it is possible that we can come to this. Then we would have a Spartan society: only young, healthy, and robust people would remain, those who could bring benefit to the elite. And if they were not needed either, then they would be destroyed, leaving, say, one billion out of eight billion.

Remark: According to statistics, the number of elderly people per employed person will increase in Europe by 2030. If today there are 1.5 employed people for every retired person, then in 2030 it will be half. Thus, the standard of living will drop from 30% to 50%.

My Comment: Not necessarily. I think that robotics and automation will help us. But the fact is that there will be no one to feed retired people because the desire to feed them will disappear even though there would be the opportunity to do so.

Our opportunities will not coincide with our desires. Therefore, society will slowly prepare them for disposal through the healthcare system.

Remark: It is hard to believe that we could come to this. On the contrary, today the press cries that old people and disabled people do not receive sufficient benefits.

My Comment: The media does it only under orders—which means that some party does it to get votes and win an election.

Question: Doesn’t public opinion support retired people?

Answer: There is no public opinion. There is an opinion of elites who govern public opinion. All the rest is fake news.

Integrated In Nature

Laitman_715Question: What can you do if you see that people in this world are completely not connected?

Answer: Unfortunately, this is so. But all of nature—inanimate, vegetative, and animate—is already beginning to close. It is revealed to us as more and more integral. Everything without exception enters into one system.

And nature has always been like this, but now it is approaching man, wanting to include him within nature and cannot. We oppose all of it degrees and are unable to be integrated in it because we are not integrated within ourselves and between us.

It is possible to disagree with this and say, “Is it true that the inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature is integrated? We see how the animals prey on each other.” But for them it is a means of existence. They have no intention of causing harm to each other, only to co-exist correctly.

But we do not see it because we look at them through our egoistic point of view. If we could look at nature correctly, we would understand that they do not destroy each other, but only act in symbiosis.

What Prevents Happiness?

Laitman_036Remark: Scientists came to the conclusion that by 2050, the world will face 10 major problems: human genetic modification, increasing proportion of elderly population, disappearance of cities, evolution of social networks, new geopolitical tensions, security of transportation, diminishing natural resources, colonization of other planets, expansion of human brain capabilities, and growing influence of artificial intelligence. (BBC “10 Grand Challenges We’ll Face by 2050“)

Answer: None of this will happen. All of our current development is leading us to a dead end. It seems like we can deal with so many problems, populate other planets, and develop deserts, anything. We can build, destroy, and delude ourselves no matter what. But our egoism will not allow it.

It will make our life unbearable and will lead to continuous fighting between us: between family members, children, parents, residents living in the same city, in the same neighborhood; it won’t matter where or what. We will not be able to get along with each others. And it will be a terrible life. Egoism will lead us to this state.

No inventions will help us. They will provide nothing. First of all, we will use them to subjugate other people, to profit from, and pressure everybody. We see how technology develops and what it is used for.

So, let’s see what prevents us from being happy!

Happiness is not about settling on other planets—these lifeless celestial bodies, and it’s not about driverless cars, or living till the age of 200. It is quite enough for us to live seventy or eighty years. No need for more! It’s not a question of how long one lives, but how one lives! Anyway, you cannot escape death. To push it away is just a senseless human pursuit.

We need to make it so that we will begin to feel ourselves eternal, existing infinitely while still alive in this world. This is the solution to the problem. And we should not look for solutions to everyday problems according to our egoism. Egoism will spoil everything anyway.

We cannot say that today we are happier than those who lived 50 years ago. They did not have the electronic gadgets that we play with now, but they were not less happy because of it.

I see that according to current statistics, people are less happy, humanity is in deeper depression. Today, everyone starts to think about how and where to consume marijuana or something else to “check out.” Why should a person live for 200 years? So 100 of them will be spent in a drugged delusion?!

We must create a good life for ourselves. This is achieved very simply, through good relations between us. Otherwise, Armageddon awaits.

Do you know what Armageddon is? In Israel, there is a small mountain (Har) called Megido. There were some skirmishes a couple of thousand years ago. From that, this figurative expression “Armageddon,” the end of the world, got started.

In fact, we do not need to wait for the end of the world. It is possible to climb up this hill now and look down from it. It’s not that high; it’s some kind of mound only 700 to 800 meters high. Let’s not bring ourselves to the extreme states. Let’s make our life calm, good, and happy today, not in 50 years.

And most importantly, with the help of the science of Kabbalah, we can begin to feel the next life, the upper world, the transition from one state to another, from one reincarnation to another. This is all in our power.

I wish for you to discover for yourself the eternal state of growing and contented matter.

Is It Possible To Change The Course Of History?

laitman_265Question: What impact does ignorance about the program of creation and reluctance to know it have on world history?

Answer: History is what is written on our bones. Therefore, if we want to be participants in world history, then we should understand how to interpret and how to change it.

We are the ones who write today’s history. I have an opportunity to attract the upper Light with the help of the group. It can raise me above egoism, and then I will start to feel what is called the upper world. This will be my story.

Only I can do this with myself, and no one can stop me, but they can help me. The ten or the group exist for this purpose.

Question: Can Kabbalists interfere in history or change it?

Answer: I can interfere in history only by spreading the Kabbalistic method, and if people become interested in it, they will also improve our state. Otherwise we can not influence anything. In Kabbalah, it is impossible to manipulate the forces of nature. There are only two forces of nature, and you can only manipulate them within yourself.

You can only act in one direction: becoming more like the Creator. In this way the upper Light will pass through you to Malchut, in which all of humanity is.

Question: Can we say that history is the plan of creation, its program?

Answer: Yes. It is a program of revealing the plan of creation to the creations.

Question: And is everything deterministic, meaning that nothing can be changed, except the future? That is, can I act only in the present in relation to the future?

Answer: You can act in the present to change it.

This is what the Kabbalists say. This is the only purpose of Kabbalah. It teaches how to go through the period from our time until the end of correction of the whole creation quickly and pleasantly.

Separate And Unite

laitman_437In the News (BoltaeW.Ru): “The Catalonian crisis, it seems, has already managed to inflict not only economic damage to Spain, but also divided society in the Pyrenean kingdom. The corresponding conclusion is contained in a survey, the results of which were given by the newspaper La Razon.

“According to it’s information, almost a quarter of the Spaniards, not counting the inhabitants of Catalonia itself, stopped buying products produced in this autonomous community of the country. In addition, 21% of respondents do not rule out that they will stop buying them. In the case of independence of the region, almost 50% of Spaniards assured that they would not pay for Catalan goods, while 35.5% did not agree with the boycott.

“As specified in the study, more than 77% of respondents support the decision of enterprises to ‘leave’ Catalonia and transfer their legal addresses to other autonomous communities of the kingdom. Since October 1, the number of companies that have taken this step has passed the mark of 2 thousand.”

My Comment: People don’t know how to satisfy their natural needs.

Which needs? “I want to live independently. But, at the same time, I want to, and probably can, maintain a good relationship with you.” And you think, “No! If you want a good relationship, you will obey me!”

“But we grew out of that condition. We have our own language. We are a different nation. We feel ourselves as an independent unity: administratively, culturally, even financially and politically. Why then can we not be separate from you?”

We will separate, and at the same time, maintain normal relations. Let’s do it this way: “We will begin to separate and, at the same time, unite above our differences, so that where we want to feel ourselves independent, we will be independent, and where we need to unite so that it is beneficial for both of us, we will be united.”

Remark: In this case Spain would lose nothing…

My Comment: Yes, but in order for this to happen, the process that is taking place in the world needs to be understood. Since egoism is growing, there will be increasingly greater division into various administrative regions in the world. And there is nothing that can be done about it.

Everywhere, in every country, we find many regions that want to be an administratively independent units. So give them this possibility!

But, at the same time, we need to teach them how to be united! This is taught by the science of Kabbalah. And we can teach this to everyone.

Why Does Nature Punish Us? Part 4

Laitman_703.04Question: How can relationships between people affect a volcano or an earthquake? Can an ocean find out that people on its shore have begun treating each other better and then it will calm down?

Answer: We all: inanimate nature, plants, animals, and humans belong to one system. Tsunamis and hurricanes are awakened by the same forces that are controlled by our thoughts and feelings. It is only that our mind and feelings are at a higher degree than the force that causes hurricanes. A hurricane is strong in quantity, and a person—in quality.

If we improve our relationships at the human degree by “ten grams”, getting closer to each other, then by this we weaken the hurricane at the lower degree not by ten grams, but by ten billion times. It will not cause any harm.

After all, this is one system, one level above another. We, at the human level, are at the qualitative level and the hurricane, at the inanimate level, is at the quantitative level. Its strength is in quantity, and ours is in quality, and therefore, human thought is capable of starting and stopping hurricanes. However, so far, we only start them.

Question: Can one hundred thousand people that stand on the shore stop an approaching hurricane with the force of a thought?

Answer: No. First, they do not need to stand on the ocean shore for this. The main thing is that we must reach connection and unity between us and balance the evil forces that we have with the good forces. Then at all degrees—inanimate, vegetative, and animate that are below us—balance will also be restored.

Question: Does it mean that the threat does not come from a stormy ocean, the earth that shakes beneath us, or an erupting volcano? Should we turn the force of our thoughts to them?

Answer: Not at all! We should pay attention only to ourselves, to correcting our attitudes to others. As much as this may seem fantastic, unrealistic, and unscientific, it works exactly this way.

We must learn to control our thoughts, desires, and intentions. After all, if we do not do this, then they automatically turn to the egoistic side, seeking to bring more benefit to us and more harm to others.

Question: What will the corrected person of the future be like?

Answer: The corrected person of the future will learn the skill of keeping an ideal balance with others so that he will not be above all, and they will not be above him, but they will all be friends, connected by good relationships. Thanks to this, all of nature will come to balance, and this will be called the Garden of Eden, paradise.

Question: What will people worry about when they wake up in the morning in such a Garden of Eden?

Answer: It is written that “the world acts according to its unchanging laws” and in life everything will be the same. But a person will take care of the balance between himself and all of nature, including all of humanity.

Question: Will this be a good life or will it be too boring?

Answer: Do not worry, you will have experiences, not from the problems, but from pleasant things. Instead of worrying about a call from the police, the doctor, or the school regarding your children, you will be touched by a good attitude toward you.

The Way From Chaos To Harmony, Part 4

737.01Question: When you look at nature, it seems that in it everyone tries to devour each other, but at the same time the whole complex of opposing forces in the end develops into complete harmony, which is called “life.” How does it happen that each individual brings disorder to nature, but nature as a whole is harmonious?

Answer: If we study laws by which the general system of nature operates, we see that they complement each other. Although the whole system is egoistic and is guided by very simple, primitive and abrupt principles, the overall process of its development is aimed at growth, self-attainment, and realization of evil. In the end, we need to understand in what kind of horrible egoism we exist.

From the selfish struggle, forces will grow for understanding, feeling, and realizing what we are doing and for what. Is it possible that our whole life will pass in fighting with each other, like cats that are driven to fight by blind instinct?

Gradually, all of nature—inanimate, vegetative, animate, and especially human—are approaching the realization of evil. We begin to disclose that our nature is bad and it shows us such a life only in order for us to understand what we need to correct in ourselves.

Question: The purpose of disorder is to show us how to move forward to order?

Answer: The world exists and is ruled by complete harmony. Disorder is created in our perception artificially because “Everyone judges according to his own flaws.” We look at the world and see disorder. But as soon as we stop watching it, it immediately turns into the world of Infinity.

The moment I look at the world, I immediately spoil it with my properties. It turns out that due to gradual development, I come to the realization of the fact that I need to correct myself.

Question: It turns out that we look at the world as through broken glasses and, therefore, see it broken?

Answer: We do not see the right connections between all parts of reality; therefore, it seems chaotic to us. In fact, the world is absolutely perfect.

Why Does Nature Punish Us? Part 3

laitman_763.3Question: Today “climate engineering” is developing rapidly. This means that instead of fighting for the preservation of the environment, people are trying to intervene in natural processes, and, with the help of advanced technologies, to manage the climate, cool the globe, change the structure of the atmosphere and the state of the oceans, and so on.

People try to restore balance in nature with the help of modern technology. Is this good for humanity, or conversely, is this a great danger?

Answer: Of course, we have to pay in this way for our wrong reaction, building earthquake-resistant homes and protecting ourselves from the blows of nature. However, this still will not help because we ourselves evoke these natural disasters through our wrong behavior.

We must understand that a person’s thoughts and desires are at the highest level of all the forces that exist in the universe. Therefore, just with our thoughts, desires, and intentions we inflict the main damage to nature.

Man is the bearer of the negative force in nature, since he is guided only by the force of reception. Therefore, we need to balance ourselves with the force of bestowal. In a natural way, every person acts in society trying to receive everything for himself. Yet, in accordance with this, we must develop an ability to give in ourselves. Then balance will be established between us and from humanity it will spread to the rest of nature.

Question: Let’s say, we begin treating each other well and there will be love and bestowal, complete harmony between all people and all nations, how can it stop volcanic eruption or a tsunami?

Answer: Our thoughts and desires are also forces of nature. Man is part of nature, the crown of its development. How are we different from all other parts of nature? We have science, intelligence and more developed feelings. Although these feelings are evil, they are more developed compared to animals, and because of this we are called man, human.

The only problem is that we do not use our forces correctly. We think that we can live as instinctively as animals, without reaching love for our neighbor, and without exploring our influence on the world. Yet, this is not right, because we belong to the human degree. And being human is first of all science, reason, and feelings, which elevate us to the very top of the pyramid.

It turns out that unlike all other levels of nature—inanimate, vegetative, and animate—that are instinctively included into one system called “nature,” man separates himself from it.

We are obliged to complement the system of nature through our participation, joining it together with all others. Due to the fact that we balance our feelings, mind, and the negative force of our egoism with the positive force, we will reach a good connection with all parts of creation.

The Way From Chaos To Harmony, Part 3

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: It is clear that all the disorder in our lives is caused by the fact that everyone thinks only of themselves. But how do you see a corrected, permanent, perfect state where everyone is in harmony?

Answer: Such a state actually exists in nature, but we do not see it. As it is written: “He who has eyes to see, let him see, and he who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Everyone judges in the measure of his own depravity and perceives the world arranged according to his egoistic reason and feeling. Therefore, we are not able to see how perfect nature is and we consider ourselves smarter than nature.

It turns out that we do not see the truth and are plunging into greater chaos all the time. Egoism grows bigger and bigger, and our ability to cope with it is melting in front of our eyes. The situation is becoming critical, and soon we will finally destroy humanity in nuclear world wars, as Kabbalists warn.

The only way out is to get to know the system of nature. We will either discover through suffering that nature is perfect and only we are spoiled, or we will begin to understand the system of nature through studying the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The power of bestowal, connection, and reciprocity reign in nature—the exact opposite to what a person lives on—that is, the power of receiving, personal domination, envy, and hatred.

Question: Where do you see mutual assistance and connection in nature?

Answer: We do not see it when we look at it with our own egoistic eyes. On the contrary, it seems to us that in nature there is a fierce struggle for existence where the strongest wins.

But if we look deeper, the question arises: where does life come from? This very life in which completely different opposing forces suddenly somehow miraculously complete each other and create all possible varieties of creatures: inanimate matter, plants, animals, and humans.

How is it possible that opposing forces wishing to destroy each other suddenly connect and even complete each other, sacrifice one for the sake of the other, because without this life is impossible. Where does it come from?

If you look more closely at nature, as, for example, bio-cybernetics does, which studies the systems existing in living organisms, you will see how one thing completes the other. All these systems operate on the basis of completely different forces, and it only seems to us in our faulty perception that everyone wants to swallow others and forcefully establish their power.

If it were so, then life would never be able to exist because it is based on bestowal, concessions, on my concern for someone who will then help me, and so generation after generation. This is completely different from what appears to our superficial glance.
