Question: What do we have to correct first: ourselves or the environment?

Answer: It is a very complex question. I cannot correct myself without the environment, and I cannot correct the environment until I correct myself. And to the extent that I correct myself, I see that the environment is already corrected and I only need to be correcting myself, and this is what each of us feels.

In essence, we are in a perfect reality that has no flaws. Only inside of us there is a sensation that we feel bad, that we are flawed and divided. But when we reveal the true reality, environment, and world, then we discover an upper world instead of this one. And then we see that aside from our perception of reality, nothing else had to be corrected.

It turns out that I existed in a perfect reality all along, and it was only in my uncorrected perception that it appeared broken because I myself was broken. My properties were corrupted, and thus I judged everything according to my own flaws.

Therefore a person should understand that only he alone is corrupted and everyone else is corrected. But he can correct himself only if he connects to everyone else in the right way through teaching everyone how to unite correctly.

All other people outside him are broken parts of his own soul. Therefore, the work of our correction goes in two directions: from oneself outward and back.

And indeed, there is no vice in any person or in humanity as a whole. Only the connections between us are corrupted and only there should we focus our efforts: on the correction not of the human being himself, but of his relationship with others. If we achieve a good connection in some group, then we reveal an upper world in it and see everything in the correct form.

A person should correct his attitude to the friends and through it show them an example of how he loves them. There is no need for anything other than this example. If you succeed in this, then you will see how much you advance forward.

Comment: In one of your lectures you said, “I take off my glasses and the world becomes different.” For some, this expression would seem blasphemous.

Answer: What this expression is saying is that we perceive the world through our senses. Certainly if without glasses I see one thing, when I put them on, I see everything differently.

This world is felt within us, and according to how I set myself, like a musical instrument, I perceive, classify, and evaluate it. And this determines my attitude towards it. So I look at the world through my personal glasses, and if they are changed for me, this means that my internal orientation is changed, so I see another world.

The wisdom of Kabbalah directs a person towards a perception of the entire nature in which we exist, not only for this brief present time, but beyond it. It reveals to us the entire process through which we are passing, not only within a physical body but also in other emanations.

Opinion (Jim Elvidge): “The present hypothesis about the structure of the universe says that our entire world is no more than a matrix, a virtual reality, created by an unknown form of intelligence. The universe is a computer program that works on the basis of a digital code.

“Matter is an objective reality that is given to us through our senses. It is clear that through contact with a variety of objects we define them according to our senses at that moment.

“However in fact, most objects are no more than empty space. So an image is only a conditional reality, a matrix that exists only in our consciousness.

“Behind everything that is found in our environment is concealed a particular code that resembles the binary code of a computer program. Perhaps it will become clear that our brain is simply an interface through which we have access to the ‘universal internet.’

“The function of our brain is to process the information that is later stored in it. So we can also access data stored outside of our brain.

“If our consciousness is a simulation, then death is only a pause in the simulation, and consciousness passes to another simulator. This is the phenomenon of the reincarnation of souls.”

My Comment: In this way, scientific evidence and speculation are gradually bringing humanity closer to the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, does each person perceive reality in his own way?

Answer: All of us were created with five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. With their help we absorb some information and within us it is shaped into the form of some kind of reality. If we had other characteristics, then we would perceive reality differently. When the wisdom of Kabbalah develops us, it begins to show us that reality is relative.

And here we are really approaching Einstein’s theory that speaks about reality being relative, that time, motion, and space are relative terms. Then we begin to understand what was happening at the creation of the universe: in the beginning there was no space, then it was formed; it began to be filled, movement appeared in it, and thus time was created.

We evolved as a result of these conditions: time, motion, and space.

In contrast to physicists who study these concepts from their observations and research of the surrounding reality, in Kabbalah we attain them through internal research.

We begin to feel how the perceptions of time, motion, and space are changed in us and how much they can be changed. It turns out that our reality is relative and depends on the person perceiving it. He perceives reality according to his characteristics.

That is, we aren’t watching the same film. Each is impressed in his own way; and each one sees a different film. This is where the domain begins in which only those who enter into the spiritual world understand what this is talking about.

Question: When you enter into the spiritual world, do you see the same film that someone else also sees?

Answer: No. Each one has another world; each one has another higher power that we call the Creator, and likewise, each one differs in his perception of the world and the Creator, the forces that move this entire picture.

Question: What is the difference between an ordinary person and those who study the science of Kabbalah in terms of the perception of reality?

Answer: The average person perceives reality with only his five corporeal senses. Therefore, it is very dependent upon the body and he understands that if the body dies, everything disappears.

But this is not so for Kabbalists. They perceive reality within an additional parallel system, which is what they develop within themselves. This system is called the “soul,” which also has five senses: Keter, Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut.

With this system we perceive the reality that we can change, unlike the inanimate reality of our world, which eludes changes as both a little child and an adult see the same thing. While the reality that is perceived with the five additional senses, moves, and is changeable, like a wind in relation to inanimate objects, and therefore it is called the spiritual reality (“spiritual” – Ruchnit, from the word, “wind” – Ruach).

Question: Do those who are found within this spiritual system see the same thing?

Answer: No. Each one sees according to his state, according to his level. But for everyone it is understood that one reality is revealed, only each one perceives, sees, and feels it in his own way. But when he develops within this reality according to 125 levels, every person on every level discovers the same reality that those who also go through this level discover.

Question: Recently I hear you talking about an imaginary reality we exist in. But I hear you; you are talking to me. And I am trying to understand, what is imaginary here? If this is imaginary, then what really exists?

Answer: That’s right. What appears to us as reality that we perceive now is called an imaginary reality because it exists only in our imagination.

It seems to us that we are within a reality, while in fact that reality is within us. Everything is the other way around! This is revealed to Kabbalists the moment they begin to enter the perception of the spiritual world. Right now we have a hard time agreeing with this. But this is what Kabbalists tell us.

One who begins to feel the upper world understands that the reality we perceive now is imaginary. It exists in our five senses that depict an imaginary picture to us where we are in a huge world and everything surrounds us. In essence, everything is inside of us.

Modern physicists in their latest discoveries say that we are in a made-up reality, in some computer program, and we cannot say that the world we feel exists objectively. It exists in our perception, our senses.

Question: As a child I had the feeling that the whole world was a pot. The sky was the cover and I was in the bottom of the pot like a small insect.

All the stories about the Earth being round and large paled in comparison to this internal feeling of being isolated, imprisoned, trapped without an exit. What is this feeling?

Answer: This is a very real feeling about our closed world. Moreover, it is closed such that, on one hand, we see ourselves in some kind of immense space, but on the other hand, this space is dead, it has nothing in it.

And even if we were found not on this tiny ball but in another galaxy, it would be the same thing, I would not be able to escape from myself. Only there would be other conditions of the inanimate nature, and what else?

We truly are found in a “pot with a lid,” and if we don’t come out of this situation, then all of us can expect a bitter end; there is nothing to do here. But this feeling helps people consider why nature created us as intelligent beings and developed us from some inanimate particle to the most complex organisms; after all, it couldn’t be that this was purposeless.

As far as it seems, behind the physical, internal, and psychological organism (which is even more internal), there are still further abilities and possibilities, secret forces and characteristics that must be discovered in us.

As the human once emerged from being an ape, so the human should have something else in its internal development. We are going towards it and the wisdom of Kabbalah explains to us how to develop it within ourselves.

Today humanity has already reached a feeling of a final confrontation in its mutual relationships, and this must be solved because the constant deepening of confrontations between nations and peoples is very primitive, limited, closed and doesn’t permit us to break out of the gigantic “pot” of our world.

So the same drive that today dominates over larger and larger masses will bring us to a solution of this problem. We see according to the pervading depression in the world, according to the need for drugs, according to the wars and endless disorder, that humanity is seeking an escape, but doesn’t know what to do.

People are again turning to religions and don’t find anything in them, which means that an opposition is appearing among the masses themselves.

This is a search for a solution to the problem. It is deeper than freedom or lack of freedom. In other words, if I see some kind of purpose ahead of me that provides no freedom, I will agree to it; and if I don’t see it, then this is already the end.

But how much this goal is connected to freedom, we don’t know. In fact it is always connected to freedom, but today we cannot understand what this is.

According to Kabbalah, if you want to be free, you must stop being concerned about going deeper into yourself and musts begin to work outside of yourself, for the sake of others.

And when instead of being concerned about yourself, you begin to be concerned about others, instead of loving yourself, you love and feel them, and they become your only source of concern and love, your thoughts and drives, then you will be free. Free from what? Free from yourself. It is only in this case that we have a possibility of exiting ourselves.

Otherwise we are always deceiving ourselves, claiming that we are not egoists, we are free and things like that. Since the ego encloses us within the general “pot,” it is natural that it is the slave master here.

Question: If our brain decides nothing, what is its function in a vast system of nature?

Answer: Our brain receives commands and then actuates our body. But this doesn’t mean that the brain has independence.

It is totally dependent and connected to the whole system, like a micro-computer that is occupied only with leading us into action but it is connected to a much bigger computer with an enormous brain and memory.

Question: If we are totally managed from above like machines, what does it mean to be independent? What does it mean to be free? What is freewill?

Answer: To the extent that we begin to understand the upper system, attain and feel it, we begin to acquire freewill and the freedom to act. But in order to do so, we have to ascend to a level that is higher than our current one because now we are totally controlled.

In the news (netcom.md): “Our consciousness is the way by which we perceive our reality, our thoughts, the essences of information and our intentions. But the search for our consciousness in the brain is like searching for the announcer on a radio.

“Our consciousness is the basis, and matter is a derivation of our consciousness. We cannot transcend the limits of our consciousness. The claim that consciousness creates reality may refer to the fact that we can form and create any reality that we wish. How do we do that?

“Modern physics recognizes the fact that the spectator creates reality. As spectators we personally participate in the creation of our own reality.  We are forced to admit that the universe is a material structure. Knowledge directs us to a reality that is not mechanical and the inverse begins to seem like a giant thought, not like a huge machine.

“The mind no longer appears as an “accidental intruder” in matter. We should welcome it as the creator and dominator of the kingdom of matter. We have to accept the unequivocal conclusion: the universe isn’t material but mental and spiritual.”

My Comment: These findings come from researchers of nature. Today they don’t fear moving from the study of matter to the study of forces: of desire, thoughts, and intention.

Matter exists only in our subjective consciousness. Then they will acknowledge that everything that exists (forces) is only perceived by our subjective feelings, and then according to Talmud Eser Sefirot, Vol.1, “Histaklut Pnimit.”

Question: How does the soul control the body?

Answer: There is no connection between the soul and the physical body, the body exists by itself. It is only if a person acquires a soul that the upper world is revealed to him or her.

One begins to feel not only that reality perceived within his ego for his own benefit that is our small limited world. He goes out of his ego towards love of others and horizons open up in front of him; he also begins to see the upper world together with our world. His view is expanded; he begins to see the entire creation in depth, seeing the connection between everything that exists, the entire creation.

The upper world is the system of higher management that operates our whole world. The purpose of this system is to elevate all those who live in our world to the level of the soul, so that everyone will be involved in mutual bestowal, instead of what is now, each one wanting to grab something, to get something for oneself. We need to work differently, with mutual bestowal towards each other.

Everyone must reach this sooner or later. If we are late in this correction, then we receive blows from all sides. But if with the help of Kabbalah we begin to change, to correct ourselves, then we merit a life where we see the entire world from end to end.

Question: Why do we need to go through the entire evolutionary process of human society if the corporeal world is imaginary?

Answer: The corporeal world is very meaningful. As a result of it, we reach the understanding that our corporeal evolution has reached a dead end. We realize that we have evolved in the wrong way and that we cannot advance further in this way because our egoism leads us to the abyss, to death.

There is a phase in the evolution of our desire to receive that we must undergo and clarify here in this world. Egoism shows us its lowliness, its hopelessness, and its futility. We must undergo all this to feel it, experience it, and be incorporated in it.

This world is very important, and all the internal changes occur while living in this corporeal world. In addition, there are many corporeal changes that we don’t feel in our reality in this world.

It is hard to explain how we perceive our reality if our body is dead. We believe that we feel everything through the body, but this isn’t true. The body is only one of the illusions that we have.
