In the article “The Last Generation,” Baal HaSulam writes about a future world in which there will be no states, only one social system, you can call it communist from the word “commune,” social equality.

There will be no equalization, pressure, or artificially imposed relationships with each other. People will simply understand and feel everything because the upper world will be revealed to them. With the help of Kabbalah, they will discover it for themselves and see that if they live in good relations, it will be good for them too.

For example, I cannot hurt myself by jumping from a height of five-meters or sticking my hand into a fire because I can see clearly the damage I would be doing to myself. Similarly, if the global system of our interconnection is revealed to us, then of course I will not harm other people because I will see how it comes right back to me.

I just need to see the system of our complete internal communication, and then in no case will I wish harm to someone or strive to gain a better fortune at the expense of others, because by doing this I will hurt myself much more than I think I will gain. This is how the system of our relationship works, only it is not visible to us. We need to reveal it.

The science of Kabbalah allows us to do this. Then we will not need any teachings, philosophies, political sciences, formations, no abstruse stuff. We just need to reveal the system of connection between us that exists in nature. That is when we will act correctly among ourselves, like good kids.

Question: The number of people suffering from hunger has increased in the world. There are more than eight hundred million of them. The number of people dying of hunger has increased six fold. Researchers claim the reason for it is due to climate change and constant conflicts. The world will starve if this continues. They say that a great famine is possible.

Do you think it is possible that it will come to this in our world of abundance?

Answer: There is no abundance in the world. It just seems to you that there is. Everything can be emptied in one day. All these big supermarkets, malls, whatever you see, everything can disappear in an instant and there will be nothing in the world, not even what to wear, let alone to eat.

Question: That is, one little fright and everything will be sold out and will disappear in a blink of an eye? Do you think this option is possible?

Answer: Yes. I believe this will happen. Otherwise, humanity cannot be convinced.

Question: That is, it is not for nothing that it is written in the Torah that only hunger advanced humanity? Does it still work this way?

Answer: So it is said: “Love and hunger rule the world.” And it will be so. We will reach love but only through hunger.

Question: If love had been reached earlier, then there would have been no hunger?

Answer: This is true. But with hunger people will grasp that hunger is a not the problem but the lack of love, and then this will change.

Question: Pease tell me what will this hunger lead us to if there is one?

Answer: We will start to seriously analyze the problems of life, or rather our own problems, and simply ask the question: “What do we need to change in ourselves in order for nature to treat us differently?”

For this to happen, we need to change our attitude toward others. Then nature will treat us differently. That is, if I love others and try to block my ever-growing egoism with some kind of empathy, then nature will treat me differently. I have to show nature that I want it to change its attitude toward me.

Question: Is it enough that I understand why nature puts such pressure on me and that I want to change? Is my request “I want to change” enough?

Answer: Of course.

Comment: We can avoid coming to this and must say: “I want it.”

My Response: You cannot change yourself. Not in any way! But you can realize that you must change. And you can also realize that it depends on your request to nature. We will achieve this.

Question: The process of human development is not a random process?

Answer: Of course not! Have you seen anything random in nature? It only seems to us that way because we do not understand nature. In fact, all of its laws are clearly determined. And it is no coincidence that globalization is happening in the world because now we have, as they say a grip, we have fully used our egoism and discovered how much it leads us to a dead end.

The way out of this can be twofold, either by suffering, by reducing the human population, or by realizing the whole path by correct education of people based on revealing to humanity the real world in which we exist.

We do not see much of what is around us and we do not know the forces that control us. I do not know what I will think the next moment and what I will want. Suddenly, a thought or desire comes to me. From where? From that secret hidden part of the world that I need to reveal. Therefore, Kabbalah is called a secret science because it reveals this part of the world to me.

When I see the whole system, the whole relationship between us, between me and nature, I naturally begin to behave correctly.

The basis of our yearning for the Creator is called the “point in the heart.” I feel that this point is pulling me, but I do not know where and I do not know who is doing it either. Yet, I want to know what is the meaning of life, its purpose, where did I come from and where am I going, and why is this life given to a person?

These questions concern many people in childhood and adolescence, but then they disappear. After all, hormones begin to act, and the world confuses us with its illusory values that distract our attention from the right questions: What am I living for?

However, there are people who cannot extinguish the point in their heart that draws them to the connection with the Creator, and therefore they come to the wisdom of Kabbalah. Then they have a choice whether to act according to their own mind, according to what they see in this world, what is called the “rational” approach.

It is funny that we call this “rational.” Is it possible to call the way a person behaves on this earth, rational, deliberate? How is it possible to make a rational decision if we do not know our future, we cannot connect ourselves to it, in order to take a step forward toward the future that we see, understand, and control based on the analysis of the present and future state? Then we could call our behavior rational. But  if we have no idea about the future, then we cannot talk about any rational action.

We call rational steps when we rely on our egoism, which does not see what will happen in the next moment. Sometimes we even see that we are harming ourselves, but we cannot stop. We discover today in all human activity that we are doing everything wrong, destroying the Earth and our lives, moving toward wars and troubles, and at the same time, we cannot stop ourselves.

We are even worse than animals, because they do not do that. The animal will stop immediately if it senses danger. A person, however, cannot stop. After all, egoism is stronger than us, it is given from above and tells us what to do. And we obediently follow its orders, instead of the instructions of our animalistic instinct of self-preservation.

This is why we are destroying the planet, destroying the world, jeopardizing our future. This is called that we act on the basis of false “rationality” and according to reason. As if there is any reason in this crazy egoistic race.

To act “above reason” means that we accept the will of the Creator and His approach and begin to act according to it. This means that we appreciate the acts of bestowing above the acts of reception, that is, Bina governs Malchut, and not vice versa when Malchut, the will to receive, suppresses the qualities of Bina, the inclination to bestow.

If we organize a group that elevates and appreciates the quality of bestowal more than egoistic qualities, then we want to exist with the force of Bina, bestowal, which is above reason, above the egoistic will to receive.

To the extent that we elevate the level of Bina above the level of Malchut so that the will to bestow is higher and more respected for us than our will to receive, we build the exaltedness of the Creator. The Creator, the degree of Bina, becomes greater in our eyes than the degree of Malchut.

Comment: America has poured trillions of dollars into Afghanistan. It is now equipped with modern technology, missiles, tanks, artificial intelligence, everything.

And the Taliban on carts with Kalashnikov machine guns and bazookas, screaming just liberated Afghanistan from the Americans. This is contrary to our vital logic that you should build up your weapons.

My Response: The spirit wins!

Comment: Does the spirit win after all? They are not the nicest people. It is a blend of such evil. It drove out forces that came to build a more peaceful society.

My Response: It is better to ask differently: Who feeds the Taliban? Who supplies them? Who pays them? Who deals with them? Where do they get unlimited opportunities? They do not think of going somewhere to work. Apparently, by the way they act, they know for certain that they will eat today and tomorrow, and everything will be fine.

Others will take care of the work, and they will shoot. That is, behind-the-scenes work is going on in full.

Question: Still, I would like to ask about the work of the Creator. We have an alliance of sinners. Why can it defeat all other alliances?

Answer: Because they are united. They understand each other and work for each other. Therefore, there are no other forces against them.

Comment: But this is still evil.

My Response: They have an ideology. They want to spread this ideology to the whole world. And they say that whoever is with them will understand how good it is, how beautiful it is, how heartfelt it is. They will not tolerate any filth, no debauchery. Let women stay home. The men will work. Etc.

That is, everything is fine and there is no need to go beyond the framework of this ancient way.

Question: And does it work? Does it unite them and give them the strength to win?

Answer: Yes. I think the world will see that in the end, at the level of our world—apart from Kabbalah, apart from “love your neighbor” and attaining the Creator—many will follow them!

A primitive dictatorship, understandable to everyone, and mandatory for everyone. And if not, they kill immediately.

Question: So it will be either the fanatical dictatorship you are talking about or the dictatorship of “love your neighbor as yourself”? We have two dictatorships meet here.

Answer: Yes. But the difference is huge!

Question: But why don’t they accept the dictatorship of “love your neighbor as yourself”?

Answer: Man must come to this! This is something impossible! And there is fear. There is love and there is fear. You see what a huge difference this is! This is awareness!

Question: Fear always wins in this world. What are your hopes for love? You spread it all the time.

Answer: I have no hope. The only thing is what is inside, from within nature, space, humanity, from within, love still controls everything.

Question: And one way or another, through these blows, humanity will come to it?

Answer: It will come. It is inexplicable!

Comment: Yes, it is getting foggier and foggier.

My Response: But it is always the case. The greatest darkness is before dawn.

Question: But dawn must come?

Answer: Yes. There is no doubt about it!

Question: That is, the world, in one way or another, is governed by this spark of love? One way or another, will a single Creator exist for all religions, for the whole world, and will they come to this in such winding ways?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Through hatred? And that equals love?

Answer: Love.

Rashbi, Zohar for All, VaYechi, Item 168: “When a person dies, he is given permission to see. He sees his kin and his friends from the world of truth, he recognizes them, and they are all engraved in the same form that they had in this world. If a person is righteous, they all rejoice before him and greet him.”

Question: What does it mean “engraved in the same form that they had in this world”?

Answer: When climbing the spiritual ladder, a person does not change. He only changes the use of his properties.

Question: Why is everyone rejoicing and greeting him?

Answer: Because a whole soul is rising up to them, and it now joins the multitude of their corrected souls. This is a huge addition, a huge event, in the spiritual world.

Imagine that there are seven billion souls or rather black dots on the level of this world and each one must rise and reach the power of the level of the world of infinity. In the meantime, they are vegetating at this dot level.

Of course, it is desirable that they all correct themselves. And that is why those high souls help, lift and shake us up so that we finally reach the spiritual stage, perfection and harmony, and rejoice in every corrected soul.

Systemic sufferings are beginning to appear in our world, and they force people to start thinking systematically. We are connected to each other, dependent on each other, and we cannot change anything by any violent methods.

I hope that these systemic sufferings will lead everyone to the need for unification. And then by quantity, not by quality of a small group, but the whole of humanity, we will begin to rise. It will be very easy, simple, understandable, and natural for everyone.

It will be written about in newspapers, talked about on television, and discussed everywhere. It will constantly roll through people’s heads and will become a subject of life for them.

I am absolutely certain that we will come to unity in a good, gentle way. And the fact that The Book of Zohar is being revealed now is a very good sign. You just need to open it, take it as an infusion drop by drop, and it will work.

Question: Why is such a paradox being revealed today that on one hand the world has become global and on the other hand, even though everyone is shouting about global problems in the field of economics, ecology, and so on, people are not interested in them. Answer: Can a small person grasp the entire global world? How can he feel it? This, once again, proves the correctness of the assumption that comes from Kabbalah that only the revelation of the system of global connection between us will give us the opportunity to treat each other correctly.

This little person does not clearly see that apparently he, his family, work, health, everything that surrounds him depends on the whole world. If he constantly thinks about the whole world, he still will not be able to grasp it completely. If he thinks that everyone will feel good and then he will feel good, that is enough. Our thoughts and desires act in the world. This is our most important strength.

Therefore, as soon as a person begins to understand that he depends on others and everyone depends on him, and this global, mutual dependence is directly related to his thoughts, he suddenly sees that his thought is the most penetrating force in the world, which acts regardless of distances.

Before that, he just does not feel how his thoughts are coming back to him. But if he saw the forces emanating from the thought, he would be afraid to think badly of others because he felt how much he was turning them back on himself and creating a negative cocoon around himself. So, this is our life.

Question: A woman is naturally oriented to the family and wants to preserve it. She needs a sense of belonging to a man and a family, and for this she is ready to sacrifice a lot. Why can’t a modern man today give a woman this sense of belonging?

Answer: Ego does not allow that: “I do not want to be associated with anyone!”

That is, I can be associated with someone, but only when it is convenient for me, when it is pleasant, when I want to be served and satisfied. But the moment I don’t need it, let there be no woman, no family, no one by my side. This is how egoism behaves.

In such states, when he cannot tolerate being forced to do something, so as not to be indebted to anyone, it is impossible to keep the family, because the family is a partnership and first of all, mutual concessions to each other.

And to yield to each other means to force oneself into doing that. I don’t want this! I cannot go for this, my ego does not allow it. And so it turns out that today’s family is falling apart. And even more terrible times lie ahead.

People will try to find some kind of replacement for this, some kind of ersatz, getting together and breaking up. Children will leave their parents early and become independent sooner. The state and society will take on some additional functions.

That is, we will see the gradual destruction of the very foundation, the cell of humanity, the cell of our society, something that even animals do not have. After all, in animals the family is preserved as much as it is necessary for the procreation of the species.

And today when the state provides assistance to single mothers or single fathers, they see no reason to keep the family together.

I am asked: “What does a Kabbalist suffer from, does he have suffering?” Of course, a Kabbalist suffers like all people. And at the same time, he worries about the fact that he cannot transfer all the suffering only to the spiritual area. The desire to receive brings him material suffering, and he must raise them to the spiritual level. And naturally, he worries about all his students.

But the main thing is the Kabbalist’s suffering from the fact that he wants to push all the population of this world to the correction that the Creator is waiting for and does not feel that it is working.

The Kabbalist sees how the world is moving toward suffering and problems are increasing every day. He is aware of all the news, sees what crises and catastrophes are happening with humanity and knows how they could be avoided and mitigated.

But it does not depend on him, but on how ordinary people will change their attitude to the world.

Therefore the Kabbalist suffers the most. He sees misfortune approaching, how the volcano will soon explode and cover the city with lava or some other natural disaster will occur, and he can do nothing.

Imagine that a mother sees that her child is in danger and misfortune is about to happen to him and she cannot intervene. The only way to help him is to awaken strangers around him so that they start taking care of him and protect him from misfortune. Only in this form can he be saved.

Therefore the suffering of a Kabbalist is much stronger than that of an ordinary person. It depends on the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah whether we will be able to change the fate of this child who is in danger, that is, the whole of humanity. But we know how difficult it is to reach human hearts, as if they are shackled in impenetrable armor.

There is only one possibility left: to ask the Creator to help break through this armor on the heart, penetrate into the hearts and convey to people our warmth and care, the need for connection. Let’s hope that thanks to all these efforts, one big bonfire will finally ignite from the sparks that we are trying to kindle and pass on to each other.

Practical Difficulties in Determining the Truth

Baal HaSulam, “Peace in the World“: “When we discuss good attributes in theory, there is certainly no better attribute than the attribute of truth.

This is because all the good that we have defined above in the relationship between the individual and the collective is when the individual gives and fully plays his part toward the collective, and also takes his share from the collective justly and honestly. All this is but the truth, but the drawback is that in fact, the collective does not accept this attribute at all. Thus, the practical difficulty in the above-mentioned truth is proven from itself: There is some drawback and a cause here that makes it unacceptable to the collective. We must examine what is that drawback.

When you closely examine the above-mentioned truth from the perspective of its practical feasibility, you will necessarily find it vague and complicated, and it is impossible for the human eye to scrutinize it, since the truth requires that we equalize all the individuals in the collective, so they receive their share according to their labor, no more and no less.”

If we are talking about correct interaction between people, then how can we come together to a state of truth, because this is simply impossible. Everyone has their own truth and everyone sees it in their own way.

The fact is that everyone should bestow, everyone should receive, everyone should correctly interact with society in all possible qualities of connection. But how can we connect all this together?

We are connected by 620 threads of connection. How can we make sure that all the threads of connection between us are aligned correctly and work in a balanced way? This is where the “flaw” in the very call for mutual complementing, bestowal, and love is revealed that does not allow us to do it.

Question: In the egoistic world everyone sees mercy, truth, justice, and peace in their own way. Does a variety of these categories exist in spirituality as well, or is there one understanding for the common soul?

Answer: There are different understandings in spirituality, but they depend on the degree a person is at. At each degree where I am now, have been, or will be, these correlations change because each time I see my attitude to others and their attitude to me more and more internally, more deeply, and I try to balance them.
