Above Signs of Good Luck

709Question: It is written in the Torah that those who are engaged in spiritual development go toward the Creator and want to reveal Him are above the stars and signs of good luck. What does it mean?

Answer: If we study Kabbalah, meaning the upper laws of the world, and invite them to influence us for the better, then by this we, in fact, determine our good future. Therefore, the Torah advises us to act this way.

Question: What does it mean that a person is above the signs of good luck?

Answer: This means that in our world we would be following one current, and by practicing Kabbalah, we invite upon ourselves upper, good forces that influence us, and we rise to better forces, higher than those that usually influence us. In this way we invite upon ourselves the forces of luck.

Question: Can we say that if I simply go with the flow of life, this is called fate, but if I invite upon myself upper forces, this is already luck? That is, I am becoming higher than the program assigned to me.

Answer: Yes. This is basically what happens. Fate is the path that you would have taken if you had not used the forces of luck. And if you use them, it is no longer fate, but your decision, your conscious development.

Correcting the Root of a State

600.01Question: Researchers believe that a person himself can create fortune with his positive thoughts, words, and actions. Do you agree with this?

Answer: A person can create a certain matrix around himself: this is good, this is bad, this is better, this is worse, etc., and thus determine his state. There is nothing absolute about it, it is all relative.

There are people, from our point of view, who suffer a lot in prisons, in hospitals, anywhere, and if you talk to them, they will say: “No, this is a normal state. One can live like that. After all, we all are living?” So, there is a problem here.

On the one hand, thinking positively, complimenting people, and doing good deeds does help. On the other hand, this does not ultimately correct the state, but only sort of smooths it out. If you dress this state with honey, it will become a little sweeter, but the very bitterness of what is under your dressing will not change.

It is necessary to correct the root of the state so that it can never manifest itself as evil.

The root is our egoism. If we annul it, we can feel ourselves above it, in a world full of goodness, love, and light.

Egoism is our intentions and all the evil of the world, which depends only on a person and manifests itself in relation to him. Our words and thoughts are just the outer shells of egoism. You can say beautiful words and do some actions, but they may not correspond to your heart.

Do Not Obscure the Creator with Yourself

253Question: I heard a proverb: “There was no case that a naked person lost anything.”

Is a sense of loss good or bad?

Answer: It depends on how a person looks at it. If he begins to see a loss as an acquisition, that is, he is becoming free, he frees himself to receive something higher, then, of course, go ahead and lose. But this is already not a loss.

Question: Does it then become an acquisition?

Answer: The acquisition of empty space, of a place. A place is already a divine state. This is a place that is getting filled by the Creator.

When we create a Tzimtzum (restriction) within ourselves, we must feel that we are creating and making a place for the revelation of the Creator. Instead, we treat it as some kind of loss.

Give it away, free yourself and find this place. It is the highest one because it is empty.

Question: Are you saying that if the vector is directed to me, then I lost?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: And if it is directed, for example, to the Creator, does it mean that I found?

Answer: There is not even such a word as “found.” You give the Creator an opportunity to reveal Himself. You do not obscure Him with yourself.

Question: Can this practically be attributed to all our losses, that all losses are as if acquisitions?

Answer: Absolutely to all of them. It is because if I exist, there is no greater evil than the fact that “I” exist. “I” exist. How to make it so that there is no “I”?

Question: How can this evil be converted into good?

Answer: Only by giving up the fact that I exist.

Question: And what is “I” then?

Answer: Nothing. Make room, do not occupy it, let the Creator be revealed.

Question: So, are you saying, there should not be a single thought about myself, right?

Answer: Absolutely.

Question: What should my thoughts be about?

Answer: I want the Creator to be revealed. I do not want to obscure Him.

Question: You say “I.” What is “I” then, when you say, “I do not want to obscure Him. I want the Creator to be revealed”?

Answer: This is the point I received from Him and apart from this point I have nothing else. This is the point of the Creator from above.

Question: Then what is a naked person in “There was no case that a naked person lost anything”?

Answer: When, apart from this point, he feels nothing else. There is nothing in him besides that point that can only say that this is me, and this is what I want to leave. That is, I cannot refuse it because I received it from the Creator. And besides that, I do not want anything.

There are no words for this.

Converting Knowledge Into Feelings

528.03Question: What are the Ten Commandments?

Answer: Once you get out of the Egyptian slavery, i.e., out of the power of egoism, you begin to take on other forms of connection between you and the Creator, between you and others. An action above one’s egoism is called a commandment.

Question: So, the structure of the ten Sefirot receives ten blows and after that I perform ten actions to connect with the Creator?

Answer: Let’s say so. Yes.

Comment: This is all very complex, not simple. In general, the world is, of course, a complicated system.

My Response: I don’t think so. We just do not want to convert it into sensations, then everything would become quite simple. The most important thing is not to leave it in your head, in some calculations, but to convert it into feelings.

Question: But what does “we do not want to” mean? Everyone would like to feel the Creator. It does not work.

Answer: You can feel it only if you want to rise above your egoism and act in spite of it. You will have to cultivate this movement within yourself perhaps over many years.

Question: Why does one still have a feeling that it is only him and the Creator? Why don’t we have a natural awareness that in order to reveal the upper force, there must be at least ten people? There is no such thing in society. On the contrary, if you want to reveal the Creator, you must seclude yourself, and in general, it seems to be something internal, concealed. What do any other people have to do with this? Why should I share the Creator with them?

Answer: You must do this in order not to deceive yourself, so that you clearly see whether you are approaching the quality of love and bestowal or not. If you can do this in relation to other people, then once you achieve this quality, you will relate to the Creator the same way.

For Whom to Pray?

239Question: What is the difference between group prayer and individual prayer?

Answer: There is neither group nor individual prayer. A person always prays through others, for others. There is no other prayer.

Prayer only for oneself does not give anything, it is just a voice crying in the desert.

Comment: But a person usually prays for himself.

My Response: There is nothing to even say about it. People who come to us do so at first. But they are new comers and the light takes this into account. Then the light gradually brings a person to a state where he feels that all his prayers should be for connection, through connection, only in connection, in order to lose himself in global unity.

Light Is the Foundation of Life

276.02Question: Is pleasure a kind of spiritual substance?

Answer: Pleasure is the filling by the upper energy.

Even in our world, it comes to us from above. The life that spins atoms, holds molecules, and all the chemical and biological transformations that fill and spiritualize us—all this is called light in Kabbalah.

Question: The light that Kabbalah talks about and Ari writes about at the very beginning of his book The Tree of Life, and the light that Einstein talks about as a kind of substance in his theory of relativity—are these unambiguous concepts?

Answer: In our world also, light is the foundation of life. But this is a consequence of spiritual light in the material world because our world is built as an imprint of the upper world.

Light is the highest spiritual energy from which a small spark broke into our world, into our empty universe, and gave birth to everything that exists in it today—everything that we know and do not yet know.

Be Drawn to a Good Future

962.7Question: How does a Kabbalist relate to the world?

Answer: Like a caring mother hen.

Question: You said that the most sensitive and the most developed receive more blows. Therefore throughout history have we seen that Kabbalists have been persecuted and suffered various blows?

Answer: Yes, it is so. But blows were also sent to them in order to force them to develop faster. There is no escape, development in the main part of history was still going under the influence of suffering.

And only in our time do we begin to enter a period of conscious development, when we can understand why suffering is given, where it comes from, and how we can go on with it. Therefore, when we act consciously instead of suffering, which pushes us, we begin to draw ourselves to a good future.

A Form Similar to the Creator

934The ten is a spiritual Kli. Due to the fact that everyone at least in some way nullifies himself before others striving to achieve a common, mutual inclusion, we bring our qualities into some similarity with the Creator. The Creator completely nullifies Himself and if we unite through mutual self-nullification, in this way we build a spiritual model, a form similar to the Creator.

To the extent of this similarity, we will begin to feel how a certain glow descends upon us, that a certain force from above is present between us. And then we will feel that we are coming closer to the Creator, and He is coming closer to us.

After such exercises, we will find that our connection under such conditions brings us closer and advances us to the Creator. Like a small child who is just learning to walk and takes his first hesitant steps, so are we already on the way to Him, and we take another and another step with one foot and then with the other.

We will feel that it is the Creator who is moving our legs like a mother who carefully moves the legs of her baby so that he knows how to walk. Thus, we will begin to distinguish the actions of the Creator over us, that it is He who moves our legs: right, left, and teaches us to move forward. We will feel that the Creator is within our actions. In every action we will want to reveal Him, and we will reveal Him precisely through this work.

I will understand that I do not walk on my own and do not embrace my friends myself, but the Creator does all this for me. And I, while trying to perform the same actions, begin to reveal Him and discover that it is He who moves my arms and legs and fills all the space between us.

Is Luck Something Supernatural?

32.02Question: Is it possible to say that fate is what would have happened if I had not unknowingly interfered with this development process?

Answer: How do you know how to interfere and how not to interfere? I can never say that I am interfering now and such-and-such should happen and if I had not intervened, it would have happened differently.

Question: But you said that luck depends on a person. So if I’m lucky, I build my fate this way and not otherwise?

Answer: No you are not building luck itself. It simply and suddenly manifests itself in your actions, although you don’t know exactly how to recreate them.

Luck is something you can’t imagine in advance, and therefore, when it manifests you say: “Luck! I’ve succeeded. I didn’t know how it would turn out and it turned out so.”

Question: And if I try to create good connections, will I be lucky?

Answer: This is usually how we teach ourselves and others. But that doesn’t mean anything. I can think of very good things and yet suddenly it turns out the opposite.

Question: Meaning it does not work linearly and not as if I have just done some actions and I am one hundred percent lucky. So what is luck then? Something supernatural?

Answer: Luck is something that you can’t plan in advance and suddenly everything turns out for the best for you.

Psychological Self-Complacency

543.02Question: Psychologists say that happy people during a streak of bad luck think things like: “It could have been even worse.” Therefore, they quite easily cope with a streak of failures. Do you think this method is correct?

Answer: No, by no means do I believe that running away from the correct work with egoism will lead us to a good life.

We all similarly have to think about how to rise a step above egoism, and then we will be fine. Whereas, running away from all sorts of egoistic corrections and disturbances is not correction and is not a way to a better life.

Comment: Yet, people say, “If you think that it could really be much worse than it is now or that the other one has it even worse,  it helps.”

My Response: This is absolutely right. But this is not a method of correction, it is simply psychological self-complacency.
