Guide For Round Tables, Part 17

528.04Round Table: Exchanging Impressions

Remark: The final stage of the round tables is an exchange of impressions. The main task is to analyze, summarize the activities of the circle, and discuss the extent of the connection. The understanding of the process we went through takes place.

My Comment: This is very important. A person should feel all this in the heart and consider it in the mind. Then combine together all one’s mental and sensory impressions and try to express them somehow.

Question: What should be the result?

Answer: Try to express one’s impressions. Perhaps in a few lines or in a few sentences.

Everyone Can Make Mistakes

254.01Question: Is it important for a leader to be able to admit their mistakes?

Answer: A leader can hardly make mistakes. But if he or she feels it necessary to show that they may have made a mistake, then they must do it publicly and in a way that is considered a virtue.

Question: So, it is not a problem for a manager to show mistakes and weaknesses, but it is more difficult for a leader?

Answer: This is not a problem for a manager or a leader because all of us, as they say, walk under God, and everyone can make mistakes.

Question: Should a leader be able to take risks?

Answer: No. A leader must choose the kindest, most reliable path, because this is how they lead their flock to the highest goal, and they have no right to risk them.

Non-Verbal Communication

032.01Question: One of the types of information transfer is non-verbal communication: gestures, facial expressions, postures, outward appearance, and so on.

How much attention should be paid to the development of these skills and how do they express connection between people?

Answer: We, those who are engaged in the science of Kabbalah, in general, do not pay attention to these communication techniques because we do not see the possibility of transmitting through them information about the upper level, higher than human psychology and psyche, cognition and perception. In the science of Kabbalah, we deal only with the possibility of a person’s preparation for spiritual perception.

And spiritual perception can be transferred to a person only by teaching them certain skills through which they will begin to perceive spiritual influences, and with the help of certain spiritual practices (but not external, not physical) one will adapt oneself to the spiritual world.

Remark: However, we perceive the main part of information through sight and only about 7% through words. Why do you think that non-verbal communication does not convey information? It is said that the success of public speaking, whether you will be heard or not, is determined by your posture and your gestures.

My Comment: Yes, but we are not talking about the masses. We say there is a limited number of people who really want to receive spiritual information from us and understand that it is impossible to convey it in the ways we do in our world.

Therefore, we prepare them so that they themselves will be able to perceive spiritual information from the upper world.

Question: That concerns students who are developing spiritually. Are non-verbal skills important for people taking an integral education course and who just want to unite in order to live better?

Answer: Yes, they are. But I do not deal with this because my profession, my knowledge, and my experience are aimed at conveying impressions of the upper world to people through all sorts of sound and sometimes graphic images so that they adjust themselves to it and start to feel it.

At The Peak Of Emotions

511.01Question: If there is a conflict, is it worth it to extinguish the surge of emotions by agreeing with the claims and leaving?

Answer: No. It is necessary to try and write down all the conflicting emotions in such a way that by using them later, it will be possible to rise higher and higher toward a common solution to the conflict.

Question: That is, if a person is at the peak of emotions, then it is advisable for the other side to stop the conversation and continue later?

Answer: It is not this that is important, but that we clearly understand how big the disagreement between them is, whether it is one or many, and then we could solve this problem. And if people just yell at each other, then nothing can be resolved.

Therefore, you need to give them a piece of paper and a pencil so that they express what they are yelling about. Let them write down their emotions.

What Is The Art of Learning?

219.01Question: What does the art of learning mean? Is it acquiring knowledge in one’s mind or some internal values, life skills, and accumulation of information?

Answer: The art of learning means identifying the necessary tools for your further advancement in order to know how to move forward.

Let’s say you are in an unfamiliar area and have a very vague idea of its terrain. But you understand that you should wear appropriate shoes, stock up on maps of the area, and bring various vision tools. All this is considered education, i.e., a preliminary adaptation to new conditions.

Contacts With All Of Humanity

962.8Question: Throughout one’s life, a person meets many people. One can meet more people today in a week than he would during his entire lifetime a 100 years ago. What for? What do these contacts give us?

Answer: The point is that we do not know what we are dealing with. We come across each other as if by chance, arbitrarily. But this is not the case.

We need to realize that all contacts between us are evaluated in accordance to the influence of a common desire on us, which includes the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels that have developed throughout the history of man and society. Nothing happens accidentally.

Therefore, we must realize our contacts in such a way to ultimately achieve absolute connection between all carriers of fundamental desires.

Ways To Resolve Conflicts

600.02Question: There are various ways to resolve conflicts. The first is confrontation when participants try to force each other to accept their point of view. The second is an attempt to avoid conflict. The third is  adaptation, i.e., giving up one’s own interests for the sake of the interests of others.

The fourth is compromise when both sides yield to each other, accepting the point of view of the opposite side, but to a certain extent. The last one is cooperation. This is the most acceptable form, which takes into account the interests of both parties.

Which of these strategies is the most effective? How should we deal with conflicts?

Answer: The correct approach to conflict is possible only after we begin to understand the nature of conflict, their necessity, and the possibility of their resolution. We must realize that we cannot exist without conflicts, that our entire nature develops only through them.

It is said that a wise person sees in advance what he must come to and therefore welcomes any state and knows how to move further from it to the goal, to rise in attainment of nature in connection with it.

Question: So, if we do not have preliminary knowledge of the essence of conflicts and their nature, then is there no chance that we will come to a solution at all?

Answer: Yes. We will behave like kids in kindergarten.

Question: Do you think compromise and concessions could be a solution to conflict?

Answer: No. Let us say we postpone the decision for an unknown period of time, what is going to come of it? As a rule, a re-emerging conflict that has not been resolved in the past becomes even more serious.

Question: What can you say about cooperation?

Answer: If it assumes that the parties fully unite in their new cooperation built on the previous differences, then this is indeed the correct solution to the conflict. This is a success.

A Leader Is Given From Above

200.02Remark: It is said that a leader is someone who can raise another leader.

Answer: No. I do not agree with that. Even biblical leaders did not engage much in this and were not very good at it.

Question: Should a leader should not care who will come after him?

Answer: A leader is a person who looks far ahead. He tries to convey his ideas to his subordinates, but whether he is understood and whether he can raise successors for himself, this is a problem. After all, everything is given from above, and therefore, little depends on him.

Remark: From a management point of view, it is very important for every project or organization manager to be able to train people who can replace him at any time.

Answer: This is not applicable to a leader. Just like he has been appointed from above, so is the one who will replace him.

What Does A Successful Marriage Depend On?

564Question: Now all of humanity believes that marriages entered into at mature age are stronger and more stable. Is this really the case? When does a person need to get married?

Answer: Of course, over time we become wiser. Life educates us by quite harsh methods. However, you do not have to experience them. It all depends on the education received, what kind of example the child had in the family. We see that children literally are repeating what they see with their parents.

In general, I would start educating a person for family life from kindergarten and continue at school, at university, and at work. Home circles, television, everything should be dedicated to the creation of the correct family as the unit of society.

Conflicts Within A Person

628.2Question: Is there a difference between the methods of solving external interpersonal conflicts and internal conflicts in a person? Or are they suitable for both cases?

Answer: In principle, yes. But inside a person, conflicts are resolved a little differently because one must see both sides of the argument.

Comment: Let’s say, I want to go outside and consider whether to wear a mask or not. There is an internal conflict. On one hand, I am a bit cautious about infecting others. On the other hand, it is uncomfortable to breathe and there seems to be no one around. So, a person constantly makes some calculations, conflicts arise in one every second.

Answer: With a mask, it is quite simple. The fact is that there are specialists who understand how the virus spreads. And if they say that you should wear a mask, then you accept it and put one on even if no one is around.

This gives me the opportunity to be honest with myself and with nature.
