What can you say to a person who knows that his illness is incurable, his days are numbered, and he is tormented by the fear of death?

First of all, one must remember that everything comes from the Creator in order to achieve the ultimate goal. And as for the ultimate goal, it is clear that each of us will eventually say goodbye to this corporeal life, this lowest, heaviest, and most obscure world.

Therefore, the main thing is to try and be connected to the goal as much as possible. There is nothing to be afraid of because everyone will someday feel that this material life is ending, and you must bind yourself more tightly with the next, spiritual life.

Question: One of the most common concepts today is that a man lives once. Nevertheless, according to research by some sociologists, the fear of death is one of the three strongest fears that most people experience.

But if a person lives once, why is he initially given the knowledge that he is mortal?

Answer: Of course, it would be better if we were like animals who do not understand what death means. They fear death instinctively, but they do not have the feeling of “I will not exist.”

And people who are at, I would say, still a rudimentary level of development, do not have such a feeling either. And then there appears not really the fear of death but the fear of disappearance.

Why is it given to a person? So that he becomes human. But instead, we try to rationally use this fear for our elevation, for our development. As a result, we try to somehow suppress this fear, camouflage, and obscure it so that it does not appear in us.

Whatever concerns death, we distance from ourselves be it a cemetery, a morgue, hospitals, or nursing homes, it is all out there somewhere, but we think less about it and touch it only if necessary. And what is beyond and if there will be anything after, we do not know at all.

Therefore, we are trying with all our might to attach ourselves to the years when we really exist. Instead of looking at the end of his life, a person looks at the younger generation and engages with it as if seeing his continuation in them.

But in fact, this is nothing more than self-deception because we have no clue. There is no correct, clear vision of what exists after death. Why is everything so ridiculous, so strange? Why does everything exist? This is the most important problem of man and humanity.

After all, if there were no death, our whole lives would change: my view of the world, my attitude to it. Let’s say we would live endlessly, we do not change, we do not get old. We would have no idea how we would exist, what our relationship to each other would be, what a completely different world we would be building.

Question: A perfume company launched a line called “Individuality” One of their advertising pitches was: “If you feel your uniqueness and individuality, if you are absolutely sure that you are unlike others, these perfumes are for you.”

Where does this sense of individuality and the desire for it come from in a person?

Answer: I will not argue with the French about perfumes, and about the way all of them, the individualists, rushed to buy them. Of course, it looks ridiculous. If I am an individualist, will I listen to what the ads tell me? How can this be? On the contrary, I am in the herd, and I am part of it. I run where I am beckoned.

True individualism is inherent in us by nature. Moreover, this is the uppermost quality of a person, since each of us has his own point in the Creator, one’s own root, from which we descended into this world.

We all exist within Him, and each of us has descended through his own thread to our world. This thread connects me to my root, which is in the Creator, and this point in Him is unique.

This is my personal, individual quality, unrelated to anyone or anything else. It is really just mine. The body can die and be born since it is only a garment on my individual point. I need to develop this point within myself.

Therefore Kabbalah gives a person the opportunity to become an absolute individual. After all the most important thing is to identify this point and be connected with it because these are my original qualities; this is me.

I do not depict myself relative to others, but I look at myself, at my point, which is in the Creator, and how I can make sure that I am completely connected with it. Then through it I will begin to feel the Creator, I will feel how I can be equal, similar, to Him, but in an individual way, specifically me.

It is said that when a person gives account for his life after death, he is asked only one thing: “Have you achieved the realization of your individuality?” Nothing else. You do not have to be like the saints, or the great ones, or the beau monde, or anyone or anything. You are standing as if naked, already without this world, and you are asked if you have realized yourself.

Question: It seems to a person that he looks at the world through the prism of his body, his five senses. It turns out that he looks at the world through his soul. Is that why each of us has an individual perception?

Answer: The perception of our world and the perception of the upper world are individual because each of us has his own spiritual root, his own source, his own point from which we are born. Although we exist in the same world and seemingly perceive it in the same way, still everyone perceives everything in their own way.

Question: What is an animal in human and human in human according to Kabbalah? Is human in human its morality, shame, and perhaps desire for art, poetry, or something else?

Answer: I am afraid that here you and I will disagree on our definitions, since according to Kabbalah human in our world belongs to the animal level. The level of human is one’s aspiration in which a person wants to become like the Creator.

“Man” in Hebrew is “Adam” from the word “Domeh,” like the Creator. That is, it is precisely the desire to reveal the Creator in order to become like Him that is called human.

Can you imagine what similarity to the Creator is? I do not know who He is, where, what, why, or whether He exists at all or not. Therefore, I have no such desire. I want to exist normally, correctly, and well in this world. But the Creator? Become like Him?

Only this is called the human level, since all other levels in us emanate from our animal existence, from our animal essence.

Comment: Our planet is in a very bad condition. In the past there were all sorts of programs to fix things.

My Response: In the past we were more naïve, but now we already understand that there is nothing we can do. The human mind can only ruin, destroy, destruct, or lead us to a dark and gloomy future.

Question: So why do we have such confidence in our minds?

Answer: So that we will fully realize that our mind is worthless.

Question: Is it like a mousetrap?

My Response: Yes. What is the difference between man and all the other creatures? It is supposedly our minds. It sounds as if man is proud of it. We have a machine in our head called a brain and emotions in our heart, but they are both egoistic, closed inside themselves and locked in our daily existence, so nothing good can ever come from them.

Question: So what can we do?

Answer: The only thing we can do is to get closer to each other. We should reach such relations between us in which others are dearer to us than ourselves.

Question: Why, despite the desire to realize ourselves, do we use only 2% of our brain and 98% remain, so to say, free?

Answer: The point is that we do not know ourselves. We use 2% of the brain because it only serves our animate part. And as soon as we begin to reveal the spiritual part—our soul—and develop it, we will need all the remaining 98%.

In principle, we have enormous reserves of memory and internal properties. We simply cannot imagine how each of us is infinite in possibilities. But we do not use it in our world.

Imagine a simple peasant who lived in a village a hundred years ago who herded cows and existed at that level. He had no television, no radio, nothing.

And now this peasant has developed, lives in Manhattan, works in a large company, travels around the world, sees, hears, understands, and uses everything. His brain works a little differently than that of the shepherd whose brain was at the level of the cows he grazed.

That is, the brain always serves the desire. Therefore, if our desires are constantly raised to the level of the Creator, then naturally, the brain will open its reserves in accordance with them. So, instead of two percent, we will use a lot more.

In humanity, there is even a desire to explore the brains of great people to find what was so interesting about them. We cannot understand this because we do not know that the brain is triggered by desires. And when a person dies, desires disappear.

Therefore, we do not understand why their brains worked in a special way. After all, their desires launched huge layers of consciousness, analysis, and memory.

Question: If a person did not use the opportunity to reveal the meaning of life and lived it the way everyone lives, what remains as a result of all his efforts, passions, aspirations, and hopes?

Answer: Nothing. The animate body dies and its informational part continues to exist in a new body and develops further. And so it happens again and again. Each generation is born anew, that is, naturally; it is not bodies that are born but information that passes into new parts again and again.

It seems to us that we give birth to children by giving a woman our seed, she gets impregnated, and a new person is born. No. It just seems that way because it is just the animate part.

The fact is that at the same time we transfer to each other a huge amount of information that exists, as it were, around this seed that is fertilized and begins to develop in the mother. This information is all around us. It is our most important essence; it determines generations and their gradual change and growth.

We live in a generation where we begin to seriously ask why we exist because the accumulation of information forces us to learn about the meaning of life. Ultimately, this is a question about the meaning of suffering.

It is expressed in the fact that a person begins to feel the state he is in: this life is like a dream, it is not real, it is some kind of a game. I get up in the morning, run to work, do something—what for, why? Everyone around me does the same thing running back and forth. It is like a kindergarten. Something incomprehensible. I participate in the general game.

I watch TV, they constantly show me the way I should be, what I should purchase, how I should behave, and tell me I should take an example from the rich and famous. There is a game going on all around.

Some pictures are constantly being played out in front of me, and I repeat them all the time. I see this artist, and I am already acting like him. I read something, saw something, heard something, and according to it, like a monkey, I began to behave the same. That is how we live.

I even catch myself  the moment I see myself imitating the image, the example I saw somewhere, this is how I am going to approach, this is how I am going to turn out, this is how I am going to act, like a wound-up mannequin participating in some kind of a common game. And so is everyone else.

When you look at it from above, a picture emerges that is stunning in its primitiveness, amazing in its pre-conceived flat emptiness! And when we understand this, while at the level of this emptiness, then, of course, we come to this feeling that we are in a dream.

It is said in Kabbalah that we are all asleep—the whole world is asleep—we are in an unconscious state relative to spirituality. I do not see that I am being controlled, I do not see my next state, the next moment.

Of course, I can assume something. But in fact, we see that we cannot plan anything in advance to make it come true. It turns out that we need the revelation of the Creator, i.e., the revelation of global nature. And this happens through self-knowledge.

Question: And there are no boundaries in this desire?

Answer: There is a boundary; when you reach the absolute revelation of your own and the external nature, you will come to overall harmony.

Question: Why is it specifically through the body that the development of the soul to the human level takes place?

Answer: The development of the soul does not happen through the body. We exist in the body in order to develop the soul and to be independent of its development. So that I, while constantly on the animate level and starting from it, could develop the soul.

It is not dwelling constantly in the soul, but being able to change it, to make circuits, to ascend constantly, to be independent of your spiritual state, to descend into the body again and ascend to the new degree of the soul again; to descend again and ascend again, and so on.

The soul is the organ in me that I correct and fill. While working on my soul, I exist separately, just like, for example, I would create some kind of mechanism and work on it. I abstract from the soul and look at it objectively. That is why there is a necessity for such a state as our physical existence.

After all, by looking at yourself from the outside, you become more objective. One can ascend the levels of his soul because he also has a body in which he exists.
