Final Correction for All Descents

232.05The spiritual path lies through ascents and descents. Through descents, the Creator reveals the will to receive (evil inclination) in us so that we feel how far we are from the Creator. Then, with the help of a good inclination, we come closer to the Creator and through the feeling of states of distancing and coming closer, we move more and more toward the purpose of creation.

The purpose of creation is to come closer to the Creator and to complete adhesion with Him without any limitations. Relatively to this state, we should feel how far we are from the Creator now.

Therefore, first there is always a descent and distancing, then an ascent and getting closer. In this form and with such steps, we eventually come to complete adhesion with the Creator. That is, an ascent is impossible without a prior descent. We need to get used to it, know how to go through such states, and appreciate the descents because through them we learn and acquire the next state and the ascent that comes after them.

The ascent cannot be greater than the descent. In each descent, you need to already understand, feel, and imagine the future ascent. The entire path consists of descents and subsequent ascents. At first, we feel how we are moving away, how bad we feel, and every taste even for corporeal life is lost. Then, by overcoming the descent, we feel that we are getting closer to spirituality and going deeper into it in a more and more tangible way.

Thus, through descents and ascents, we are treading toward a state that will only be an ascent—the final correction for all descents.

Why Exile Lasts So Long

525It is not a problem to allow us to escape from Egypt, from our egoism. But the fact is, in the fight against egoism, we acquire additional Kelim that are new and great desires. Through these Kelim we will be able to attain the essence of the new land based on bestowal.

How Religions Replaced Kabbalah

533.02Now it is us who come on stage, a universal religion, so to say. This is not a religion, but this is what Baal HaSulam calls Kabbalah in the article “The Essence of Religion and Its Purpose.” It means that this is not Judaism but precisely Kabbalah, which lays in fulfilling the principle “love your neighbor as yourself.”

When 2,000 years ago, at the time of the destruction of the Second Temple people fell from fulfilling this commandment, then they fell in religion. This is how religions came to replace the Kabbalah.

Kabbalah says: “By loving your neighbor as yourself, you open yourself up to the sensations of the upper world here and now. There is no time, there is no death, there is only what you feel. Now you feel a small world, a small dimension, but you can rise in your sensation to the next dimension. So begin to feel it now.”

When people fell into egoism and stopped hearing what should be said about love for their neighbor and forgot about it, then they chose various earthly commandments and rituals for themselves and an after-death reward for this.

First of all, this is not work on your own correction, you do not receive a reward for your effort immediately when you change and as a result feel the next world, which is your reward. According to religions, supposedly by performing some physical actions here, you receive a reward after your body dies. But why does it interfere? What kind of paradise is there that it is necessary to be bodiless?

In general, religions twisted everything a little. I think soon people will begin to understand this.

The Emanator Is What Emanates Matter

712.03The will to receive is the first form of every essence. We define the first form as “substance” because we have no attainment in the essence”(Baal HaSulam, The Study of the Ten Sefirot, “Inner Observation,” Chapter 10, Item 35).

This is about spiritual matter, and not about the inanimate, vegetative, and animate matter of our world.

Question: It is known from physics that the universe is 95% dark matter. It turns out that what we see and study today is practically nothing relative to what exists. Maybe this dark matter is the emanator, the Creator?

Answer: No, the Creator is above all this matter, He is like its essence. Matter itself is not attributed to the emanator. The emanator is what emanates matter.

The essence of matter is the will to receive. This is how the Creator created it.

Comment: Currently, there is no direct evidence of the existence of dark matter, only indirect ones.

My Response: Most of our knowledge about the universe and nature, in general, is based on indirect sensations, proofs, examples, and studies because we are not at the level of what we are investigating.

Spiritual Information Cannot Be Erased

962.3Question: You record a lot of materials. Will it work after a while when people will start being awakened a little?

Answer: Of course! I am sure that here and there all sorts of excerpts will be taken from it and books compiled again, articles made from them, classes conducted, and lectures, seminars, and courses made according to this material.

After all, what we are going through today, everyone else will be going through in 10 to 20 years. For this reason, I emphasize this, all this is recorded and will be used later. Life will show.

It doesn’t frighten me, even if it would be erased and thrown away. The most important is to serve the world.

In principle, what I have done and said has already served the world; all this information has settled at the level of our world, materialized in it, and entered into matter. It is already working; it cannot be erased. I lowered it from a higher degree to an ordinary, earthly one.

Question: Why does spiritual information settle in our world after you get it out in the open?

Answer: I use the usual earthly mechanisms: desire and verbal communication in a circle with students. Therefore, at the level of our world, this information already exists. It is like being recorded, reduced to its level.

I remember that Rabash did exactly the same. It meant a lot to him just to get it out in the open. Sometimes he would say things that we, his students, did not understand at all. He would emphasize: “I am saying this not for you.” Like they speak at a press conference, not for the public, but share information for those who attend it so that they understand more.

Step to the Left, Step to the Right

546.02In the News (EurekaAlert!): “Researchers from Japan have found that young infants can make and act on moral judgments, shedding light on the origin of morality.

“In a study recently published in Nature Human Behaviour, researchers from Osaka University, in collaboration with Otsuma Women’s University, NTT Communication Science Laboratories, and the University of Tokyo, revealed that 8-month-old infants can punish antisocial behavior exhibited by a third party. Thus, the motivation driving punishment might be intrinsic as opposed to learned. …

“‘We wanted to know whether third-party punishment of antisocial others is present at a very young age, because this would help to signal whether morality is learned.’

“To tackle this problem, the researchers developed a new research paradigm. First, they familiarized infants with a computer system in which animations were displayed on a screen. The infants could control the actions on the screen using a gaze-tracking system such that looking at an object for a sufficient period of time led to the destruction of the object. The researchers then showed a video in which one geometric agent appeared to ‘hurt’ another geometric agent, and watched whether the infants ‘punished’ the antisocial geometric agent by gazing at it.

“’The results were surprising,’ says Kanakogi.  ‘We found that preverbal infants chose to punish the antisocial aggressor by increasing their gaze towards the aggressor.’ …

“’The observation of this behavior in very young children indicates that humans may have acquired behavioral tendencies toward moral behavior during the course of evolution,’ says Kanakogi. ‘Specifically, the punishment of antisocial behavior may have evolved as an important element of human cooperation.'”

Question: How do you feel about this? Do we have it in us? Can this point be developed in us?

Answer: Yes, but this is not because of the correction of a person. This is because people today are born with such developed qualities that they are more empathetic and understand empathy more. This is a consequence of the development of the soul.

That is, the suffering has accumulated and concentrated in such a way that people can feel the other.

We see this both in public relations and in what people write and say. People are learning. People are learning and they are ready to understand each other more. This is based on egoism; there is nothing altruistic about this.

Question: Does it mean that now precisely such souls are descending into the world that can empathize?

Answer: They understand empathy more because they are more interested in it personally.

Question: What should it develop into?

Answer: They will conclude that altruism is preferable to egoism.

Comment: You keep adding that egoism is the basis of everything.

My Response: Of course. This is already good. This is a form of developed socialism.

Question: How can we accelerate this? Should this be accelerated?

Answer: It can be through all kinds of examples and encouragement.

Question: You keep saying that it is necessary to create a society that will constantly encourage these good deeds. Do we then disperse this empathy more and more?

Answer: Possibly, yes. It is possible that this will accelerate it in some way.

Question: What is the final state of this point of empathy?

Answer: The final state is the creation of a good, correct, real socialist society.

Question: What, in your opinion, is true socialism?

Answer: It is an ideal social system when everything is done to make people feel good. But absolutely everyone.

That is, everything is built in such a way that you cannot do something in one way here and in a different way there, better for some and worse for others, and so on. This is a must for everyone!

Question: Do we have these presuppositions? If we just need to develop this, then we will reach such a society?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: Then a person is born in order to reach this socialist society in such a form.

My Response: Of course.

Question: Where is this upper force that you talk about all the time? Where is the Creator?

Answer: Without the upper force, they will not be able to do this.

Question: What do we have to tell the Creator to get there?

Answer: Allow our egoism to agree and come to such a result.

Comment: Otherwise, our egoism says: “I need more, not him.”

My Response: It will not allow us anywhere. Any step aside, either to the left or to the right, will mean death. Moreover, in such fanatical, ugly, and underhanded forms that with all our pre-thought-out and prepared beautiful intentions, suddenly we will see that I cannot dodge it in any way. I want to reach out and give, but instead, I suddenly see in the process that I cannot give, but only take.

Comment: I see. This is egoism.

My Response: Yes, it is such a fight within yourself, but it is beautiful.

Question: But is it really important for me to see this? To say that this is inside me.

Answer: Of course.

“What does nature require of us all?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What does nature require of us all?

I received this question from one of my students after the tragic Turkey-Syria earthquake, when dozens of thousands of people got killed, and hundreds of thousands were left homeless in the freezing cold with no food.

The student asked me what did people do to deserve such a blow from nature, and what does nature want from us all?

In short, we need to stop the way we live in a rat race, to calm ourselves down, and to do as nature wants. And, indeed, what does nature require of us all?

Nature needs us to be good to each other. In other words, nature wants us to be positively connected with each other with a good and kind desire.

The law of nature is that its parts need to interconnect in a harmonious and balanced manner. We humans are the only part in nature that interferes with its balance.

How? It is our egoistic nature, which makes us want to exploit others and nature for personal gain.

We thus need to correct the way we use our desires so that we do not try to harm others and nature for personal gain, but on the contrary, that we rise above our egoistic use of people and nature and positively connect.

We need to bring ourselves to a state of positive reciprocity and mutual connection. We would then see how our desire to bring peace among each other would bring us positive feedback from nature. We would then experience harmonious and peaceful lives, and nature would no longer send us various disasters and pandemics.

Based on the video “Turkey-Syria Earthquake: What Does Nature Want from Us?” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.
