The Most Important Thing

961.1Question: Recently professional top managers, cool directors, if they want to leave the company and are looking for a job, prefer not to work somewhere in Google, in Silicon Valley, in Gazprom, they do not need large salaries. They want a quiet job. The leading request for the past six months is “traveling director” of an American brewery.

7,530 responses! He is given a van and travels around the country, tastes the beer of his company in different cities, and talks with residents: “How do you like our beer?” In Alaska, Hawaii. A huge number of requests! And precisely from such directors!

Answer: I want it too. What could be better? 🙂

Comment: In second place (7,408 applications) is the manager of the royal family’s palace in the Emirates. vice-presidents of banks, directors of successful start-ups apply here. They want to leave and take care of this family.

In third place is the “pizza-eater watching Netflix” position. He watches a movie and eats pizza.

For comparison, only 200, 300, or 400 requests come for the vacancy of a director in a good company, with a high salary, but here 7,000. That is, people are not looking for a job, but a dream. And although they have everything, they want to hug seals, taste wine, be professional sleepers, explore mattresses, and so on.

Please tell me what happened to humanity? Once we wanted to study, get degrees, become directors, make money!

My Response: Why?! The awareness of the uselessness of all these stresses.

People still go in for sports after all. They climb mountains, arrange some kinds of competition and so on. This will all pass too.

The most important question: Why?! It will kill everything. And humanity will calm down. What will happen? Nothing. Let’s just treat each other. Simple, that is, so as not to cause any negative feelings in anyone.

Calm! Just get your paycheck and spend the day the way you want. You will have enough time and desire to get used to this world and how to behave in it.

Question: That is, the request will disappear: more money, a bigger house, and a pool in the yard?

Answer: This will not happen. A person will begin to understand that he must live within his sensations, in movement toward a correct relationship with others, an inner movement. And then occupations, salary, nothing is important to him.

If I have such an attitude toward others, I feel that others have the same attitude toward me, this mutual network of forces, kind, between us I feel, I live in it. This is my job, and this is where I and everyone else exist.

We are only developing these mutual sensations of ours. Effortlessly. It should be effortless! This is how I treat others, and others treat me this way, and everything freezes. And only this feeling you perceive.

Question: And when you say: “Defeat our egoism. Rise above egoism“?

Answer: It’s all inside. Calmly only, calmly.

Question: Is this how calm it will be? I have the feeling all the time that a person must make great efforts.

Answer: No, no, nothing! On the contrary, everything. What for?! If we treat this correctly, then the upper light, which is in absolute rest, will do everything. Just don’t worry. Just don’t bother me. “The Creator will finish for me.” It’s that simple.

Question: Will there be no need for Harvard and Princeton Universities? No need to study, higher education, second or third degrees?

Answer: No, nothing is needed at all.

Comment: Humanity has built all this for so long.

My Response: This is in order to precisely identify your mistakes.

Question: Where will humanity end up?

Answer: With a calm inner mutual balance. And the connection between us will be revealed in it, complete, calmness. In the silence of these waters, we will come to see the Creator through them.

I welcome this movement, which is now beginning to emerge. In the Torah it was formulated thousands of years ago: “Sit down and do nothing, preferably.”

Do not do anything! Make it so that from the fact that you do nothing, you have everything. You will see that it is possible.

Question: That is, I will have what to eat, what to feed my family with?

Answer: To the extent that you need it, you will work. But it will not be work. It will be just an occupation.

Question: It is not that I go to work with agony, hate it and go?

Answer: You will not run and languish in traffic jams, nothing like that will happen.

Question: This thought will pass: What is enough for me is enough, but I do not need more.

Answer: It will happen gradually, but it will be fast.

Everything Is Perceived In Feelings

962.2The Creator is a quality of the upper world. His main characteristic is the quality of bestowal.

We cannot say who He is or what He is. We only speak about the way we perceive Him. To the extent that I begin to feel the quality of bestowal, I begin to attain the Creator.

In the same way, I cannot say anything about a table, for example. I can say that it appears to me in my feelings as such and such. The same is true about the Creator.

Therefore, the Creator is called Bo-Reh. Bo, come, that is, somehow change yourself, and Reh, see. Bo-Reh, come and see. In other words, everything is perceived precisely in our feelings.

The wisdom of Kabbalah works in such a way that it forms within us the quality of bestowal, and to the extent that a person already feels it within himself, he begins to feel the Creator. He has new tools, the so-called Kelim, vessels, with which he feels the Creator and the upper world.

Different Levels Of Desire

631.3Question: Sometimes you say that the people of Israel is an intention straight to the Creator and sometimes that it is a desire to give.

This is also how we call the Temple that was built in Jerusalem, Beit HaMikdash, that is, a vessel of holiness, the desire to bestow. Are they all different levels of desire?

Answer: These are different levels of either the desire to receive or the desire to bestow.

Question: What is the difference, for example, between the desire to bestow, which is represented by the Temple, and the one, which is represented by the land of Israel?

Answer: These are different levels of desire. Just as you have all kinds of desires for something bad or good, it does not matter, but they are on different levels, so is this. Only the desires to bestow include the correct attitude to all five levels of nature: inanimate, vegetative, animate, man, and the Creator.

When Good And Evil Merge Together

624.04Question: What is this commandment to drink wine on Purim to such a state that you do not distinguish Haman the robber from the pure quality of Mordechai?

Answer: At the end of correction we get so much light (symbolized by wine) that we are not able to determine where the evil is and where the good is because there is no longer any difference between them. They are combined into one single attainment of the upper root from which both plus and minus emanate. There is practically nothing there, only a kind attitude toward us.

A person acquires the ability to see all kinds of evil and good events as one. Even today Kabbalah advises us to treat everything in the same way: There is only “The Good Who does good” in everything, “There is None Else Besides Him.”

When we treat everything as good coming from the Creator, then we move closer to Him every time.

Question: A person who reaches the state of correction can internally justify anything, even the most terrible incidents?

Answer: He must justify them because it all comes from the Creator, and there is nothing that does not come from Him. And He is absolute kindness.

If we do not understand this and cannot justify it, then this only means our lack of correction.

Feel The Book Of Zohar

209Comment: Ancient scholars said that there is a positive force in The Book of Zohar that can correct us and bring us to the best possible state. You are helping us feel this book a little so that the power contained in it will affect us in a positive way.

My Response: The value of The Book of Zohar is not explaining its content because you still cannot understand how the upper world works until you at least somewhat feel it.

We read it only for the sake of attracting the upper light that can correct you, raise you to the level of the upper world, and you will feel it all there. Just like in our world: Is it possible to explain to a one-year-old baby things that only a ten-year-old child can see and understand? So, you have to develop him to the level of a ten-year-old child, and when he grows up, you can explain what it is that he sees.

But until a person develops, this book will still remain a mystery to him. He can read it for a hundred years, and for a hundred years he will not understand anything. Maybe he will begin to imagine something, but it is still not what it really is.

Therefore, you must expect every moment that The Book of Zohar will work on you and develop you. After all, if in our world a one-year-old child is given educational games, he keeps engaging in them, and his body is automatically growing, then in the spiritual world, we must evoke our growth at every moment or we will not grow up.

“The Future Of Israelis Living In The US” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “The Future of Israelis Living in the US

An Israeli student of mine who is living in the US approached me with some questions regarding the future of Jews in the US, and specifically that of Israelis living in the Land of Unlimited Opportunities. The student said that Israeli Jews are feeling uncertain and described the disconnection between Israelis living in the US and Jews who were born there. The student also described a sudden burst of support for the State of Israel among Israelis living abroad following Operation Guardian of the Walls.

Indeed, the situation of American Jewry is becoming increasingly uncomfortable. The same goes for Israelis living there, if not more so. Because Israelis still feel connected to Israel, either through family ties or because it is where they grew up, they cannot cut it off from their system altogether. However, by and large, Israelis living in America want the least connection they can have with Israel and with Judaism. This may be a conscious or unconscious state of mind, but this is where the majority of Israeli Jews living in the US stand.

There is a very interesting process happening here. A new reality is forming, and as always, the Jews are at the heart of it. The world is becoming increasingly interconnected and interdependent. The Covid-19 pandemic is just one example of it. Another example is the recent global spike in prices of transportation, staple foods, and utilities. Evidently, we have entered a phase in the evolution of humanity where what affects one part of humanity affects all parts of it.

If we want to resolve today’s crises, we have to think in terms of what’s good for humanity rather than what’s good for me, my city, or my country. Whether we like it or not, mutual responsibility is the call of the hour, and Jews, as the ones who first conceived this notion, are expected to lead it even if no one is verbally expressing this request. Jews are not requested to take over the world, but rather lead by example: We need to show that we are responsible for one another, and the rest of the world will learn from our example, just as it did in the days of the second Temple when non-Jews would come to Jerusalem to witness the unity of the Jews during the festivals of pilgrimage.

According to the book Sifrey Devarim (Item 354), “Nations and kings would say, ‘Since we have troubled ourselves and came, let us see the merchandise of the Jews.’ They would go to Jerusalem and see the Jews eating together and praying together, and since among the nations, the God of one is not the God of another, and one’s food is not another’s food, they would say, ‘It is befitting to cling only to this nation.’”

In his essay “About the Laws and Their Details,” philosopher Philo of Alexandria offered a beautiful depiction of the unity of the Jews that was so appealing to the nations: “Thousands of people from thousands of cities—some by land and some by sea, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south—would come each festival to the Temple as if to a common shelter, a safe haven protected from the storms of life. …With hearts filled with good hopes … they made friendships with people they had not met before, and in the merging of the hearts … they would find the ultimate proof of unity.”

These days, Israeli Jews are standing up to defend Israel, but I don’t feel that it is done for the right reasons. Unity should not be a step Jews take in response to antisemitism; it should be the step Jews take in order to prevent antisemitism altogether, at first, and ultimately because by this they are serving as a role model, just as our ancestors did in antiquity, before we gave in to unfounded hatred among us.

I am not optimistic that Israeli Jews in America will accept what I am writing here, but perhaps in a few years, when the pressure on them mounts, they will find them pertinent. In the past, we did not unite in the face of antisemitism, or if we did, we did too late. I hope that this time, we will be more attentive to the message and will wake up to the call for unity before another heartbreak lands on our nation.

We cannot defeat our enemies with arms, but only with our spirit. When we raise our connection to the level of mutual responsibility and solidarity, we will deter all the negative forces, and even our enemies will become our friends.

How To Protect Yourself From The Evil Eye

626Comment: Recently, the topic of the evil eye has been given a lot of attention because the hatred of man for man has increased. And a person is afraid of the evil eye. At the same time, scientists still claim that this does not exist, that it is all invented.

My Response: No, I don’t agree with them!

Question: People hang all sorts of keychains from the evil eye. There are online tutorials on how to prepare such a keychain, and how to make an amulet from the evil eye. It is known that this is thousands of years old. Do you think there is an evil eye or not?

Answer: Yes. But it’s not such an evil eye that I looked at you in some special way. By our desire, we are all bound together in one great common desire, which the Creator created, and so we can influence each other with our desires, each from his own level where the root of his soul comes from. Therefore, by thinking ill of others, I hurt myself and hurt them. I do harm because I act through my desire.

Question: Is this happening unwittingly?

Answer: Yes, of course. People don’t know that. Why is our world so bad? Because people think that way about each other!

Question: From the fact that they sort of flatten out the other?

Answer: Sure. Does anyone wish the others well? It turns out that our whole world lives only on the evil eye. On disgust, on the rejection of people from each other.

The eye is the highest organ: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch are the five senses. And vision is the highest of them.
And so we have to worry about looking at each other correctly, that is, treating each other correctly.

Comment: You just said that our whole world is built on the evil eye.

My Response: Where have you seen a normal human-to-human relationship? Only in the negative direction!

Initially, we are not attuned for good. We are not initially set up for the right attitude to each other. We put on such conditions that if he treats me well, then I will treat him correctly, and so on. But initially I have no kindness for others. Why on earth would I? Why should I treat others well? I speak like a normal person in this world. This can’t be happening!

Man is made of evil! Man is evil! So, you can’t get away from it. Only education can lift him out of this egoistic, envious swamp, pull him out by the ears, bathe him, dry him well, hang him by the ears in the sun, so that it will dry him out well. And after that, you can start filling him with something good.

Question: Then this whole science of correction, called Kabbalah, is about how we can translate these evil thoughts, the evil view on which our world exists, into a good view?

Answer: Yes.

Question: It is about how to raise a person from this world to the world of a kind view, kindness?

Answer: Yes. This will already be a spiritual world. The upper world.

And our world is created in evil alone. Just evil, because a person relates everything only to himself, whether it makes me feel good or bad, consciously or subconsciously, unconsciously.

Question: If I am like this and I can’t change, what is the process of education that you keep talking about?

Answer: It’s about making you change so that you will draw upon yourself the positive force of nature, which is called the Creator, which will begin to correct your negative force.

Question: So we always say that in order to do this, we must understand that there is only a negative force in me? And hate it, really? Is this the starting point? Then I’ll want the good force.

Answer: Yes. That’s it!

This good force is all around us. Absolutely fills the entire space! Only we push it away, we don’t want it. We are specially created to rise above ourselves, to get out of ourselves, to this common force.

Question: Then we still have to understand that at ground level, in this world, we can’t do anything ourselves with these hands, with this head?

Answer: Nothing.

Comment: And all our attempts now to make a better society, a better world…

My Response: It’s the same toys again.

Comment: And humanity is still looking for some earthly leader.

My Response: It doesn’t know how to use the forces of nature! Meaning what Kabbalah gives us, and what Kabbalah explains to us. Kabbalah tells us how to get to this positive force of nature, to attract it constantly to ourselves and thereby, change the world. What does peace mean? What I see and feel around me, either with my evil eye or with my good eye, is what I call the world.

So, how do I change my evil attitude to the world for a good one? This is the whole science of Kabbalah, the science of getting the right impression of the place where you are, of this world.

Question:  Are the evil eye and corruption different things?

Answer: Corruption is a bad attitude toward everyone else, with the help of which I really bring a lot of damage to the system of forces that surrounds us, in which we are, like in a web, connected to each other.

I am already doing this deliberately. If I deliberately treat others with evil, I bring evil force into our mutual relations, I damage the world with it.

Question: Is it coming back to me that I’m deliberately ruining the world?

Answer: Yes, it is comes back to me.

Comment: That is, if in the evil eye we say: “touch wood, so as not to jinx,” that is, a person feels that something bad comes from him, then in the corruption I do not knock on the table, I go straight to kill him.

My Response: You concentrate all your evil on doing evil to another. By this you spoil the system of forces, this web in which you are placed, and it comes back to you. But it comes back through a thousand different paths, so you can’t connect it with your evil eye, which you turned on.

A person must learn to properly master the positive and negative forces. He can control them and make the world around him perfect and himself eternal.
