“We Are All Fighting The Same Enemy”

Dr. Michael LaitmanFrom My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 9/7/20

It is becoming clearer with each passing day that we are all fighting the same enemy. This enemy convinces some of us that Democrats are evil, and convinces others that Republicans are inhuman. It whispers in the ears of some that there is no coronavirus and there’s no need to wear masks, and whispers in the ears of others that those who do not wear masks are irresponsible and selfish and put others’ lives at risk. This enemy tells us that Blacks are anarchists and a host of other “compliments,” and it tells still others that Whites are immoral racists. But most of all, it tells us all, “I am your friend, I’m on your side.”

It is not. It is against all of us as a society and each of us as individuals. It cares only about itself and wants nothing but our servitude. It is our ego and it has mastered the “divide and conquer” technique. It is time to come together and dethrone it before it drives us all to kill each other.

The ego blinds us to our mutual dependency. It makes us think that we would be so much better off if only the other side didn’t exist. But without each other, without our opposites, we ourselves would not exist. We are two sides of the same coin; you can’t remove one side of the coin but leave the other side. If you try, there will be nothing left.

Just as there is not a single system on all levels of reality that is not dependent on its opposite, so it is with people. We wouldn’t be able to even think of life if there weren’t death. We wouldn’t know the meaning of light if there weren’t darkness, experience love if there weren’t hate, or feel compassion if we didn’t feel cruelty.

Moreover, we wouldn’t know our views, qualities, and likes and dislikes if we didn’t have other people to whom we could compare ourselves. The opposites in our world not only sustain it, but also make it as rich and beautiful as it is. We love diversity and contradictions in nature, so why do we hate them in our own society? Because enjoying and appreciating our differences goes against our ego, which tells us that only we matter, and no one else.

As a result, our ego makes us interpret oppositeness of views, looks, and faiths as negative. This is how it destroys our world. If we’re not careful, it will soon destroy us by setting us against each other on a war that no one will win but the ego.

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

The blows of the coronavirus on all facets of life are showing us that we have entered a new period of development, when nature no longer treats us as children, but as adults—and punishes us, showing that change for the better depends on the degree of proper relationships between people.

Three kinds of forces of reception that are revealed in our world are three degrees: still, vegetative, and animate. The human being is the transitionary degree to the upper world, to its still, vegetative, and animate degrees. Onward, Adam, the human being of the upper world—is already the state of adhesion with the Creator.

Even though I’m only one Sefira in the ten, when I calibrate myself toward the other 9, I come to realize what’s required of me. Like tuning a guitar, I check each string relative to the rest. In the same way, I tune myself relative to the group.
Otherwise, my state is never going to change…

The ten and the world group protect the person inside it. That is why in Kabbalah the 10 Sefirot are called Blima (consuming). That is, consuming all external influences. And the Creator evokes such influences upon us that, by the good path or the bad, we will come to the necessity of finding shelter in the ten!

It Hurts Me That The Entire World Is Suffering

523The most important thing is to feel that today’s crisis is the common problem that unites us and helps us understand that we are connected with each other.

Let us all pledge that from this moment onward when we think about the coronavirus in relation to our family, our city, the school our child is going to, and our work, we will worry about all of humanity.

We will want all of humanity to be cured of the coronavirus, which is caused by our egoism that is revealed more and more every day. If we feel close to each other and are able to connect and embrace, then all viruses will disappear.

As soon as we think about our personal misfortune, let’s expand it a little and think about our common, global problem.

Egoists are usually happy that the whole world is suffering because then their own problem does not seem so terrible anymore, as it is said, “A trouble shared is a trouble halved.” But here it is just the opposite: I suffer for the entire world. My suffering is much greater if I see that not only am I suffering for my children, family, relatives, acquaintances, but all of humanity is suffering.

We need to start treating it differently. The fact that everyone is suffering with me does not make me feel better, but on the contrary, it hurts me much more because the entire world is suffering.

Cracks In The Heart

527.01Why did the coronavirus appear? Due to the fact that there is no correct connection between all the elements of creation, at all levels: inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human.

Where a connection should already appear, according to the general program of development, that moves us toward the end of correction, but it still does not exist, from these places of rupture, like from cracks in the walls, viruses crawl out.

Viruses are the will to receive that should have been corrected by now, but which we have not yet corrected. That’s why these viruses appear. We try to fight them at all levels, in all forms, but in reality, we have to treat them at the highest degree where they manifest, that is, at the human degree.

Besides the fact that the coronavirus harms our health, even worse, it leads to our distancing from each other, closes workplaces, kindergartens, schools, and so on. In those places where the virus has a negative impact on human society, we need to make a correction through our correct connection.

We cannot stop the epidemic by putting on masks, hiding in our homes, closing schools, kindergartens, and cinemas—all this is not required. We just need to make a correction at the highest degree, that is, in the relations between people. Let’s begin to correct ourselves by making the correct connection with each other, and by doing so we will neutralize the coronavirus. It is written, “Love will cover all crimes (that is all viruses at the human degree).”

Then we will see how, with the help of the most powerful weapons, we begin to put the entire creation in order from above downward, more and more, until these viruses disappear from the lower degrees: from human bodies, from animals, from absolutely everything. This should be the level of our impact on all the problems that we reveal in nature today; all correction is only through our unity.

Through our connection, we will caulk all the cracks from which viruses, these little vipers, come out, and the epidemic will stop. The disease is getting more acute day by day, but there is a cure!

Who Does The Virus Hit More – Men Or Women?

198Comment: The coronavirus has hit almost everyone: presidents, ordinary people, from fisherman to academic. Millionaires, not understanding what is happening, sit all locked up.

On the other hand, statistics show that twice as many men as women die from the coronavirus. There are many different explanations. Women supposedly have a better immune system and are less addicted to bad habits. How would you explain this?

My Response: I think men are more attached to and more responsible for correcting the world than women. They are more opposed to integral nature than women. They are more selfish. Therefore, to this extent they are more affected by the virus.

Question: Are men more selfish than women?

Answer: Of course. In its manifestations regarding nature, the surrounding society, etc. Women are still more likely to share, somehow balance. Their inner animal essence is like this. Not so with men. He is a conqueror, he is all about competition, and so on. So, the virus refers to them more. Therefore, they are more susceptible to viruses, weaker. Women are stronger. I think this is clear to everyone. A woman’s body is much stronger, much more resilient.

Question: Is it because they have this warmth, home, birth?

Answer: Yes.

Question: And the men have belligerence, hatred, and a desire to kill, capture?

Answer: This is a different kind of egoism. Of course.

Comment: You said something very important. Men have a greater responsibility to the upper system, to nature.

My Response: Yes, to become like it precisely because they are more egoistic. This is a very complex system, and it is impossible to begin examining now to what extent women and men are the opposite of an altruistic nature each in their own way.

Reasons For The End Of The Consumer Society

laitman_540Comment: Some economists claim that the consumer society is coming to its end. The first reason for it is lack of trust, which seriously inhibits trade and economic relations.

My Response: But this can be overcome.

Comment: The second reason is environmental pollution since we do not yet have enough technology to process all the waste that we produce.

My Response: Who cares about this? If there is enough technology, it will be possible to produce even more.

Comment: The third reason is limited natural resources.

My Response: Nobody is interested in this either. We will find them. Let us fly to the moon and bring them back from there.

Comment: The fourth reason is growing inequality between the poor and the rich. Even in the post-coronavirus period it can be seen that the rich are getting richer. And everyone has huge egoism, and people are unlikely to tolerate it.

My Response: Of course they will not. The rich will have to pay a certain percentage of their huge income to buffer the discontent of the poor.

Comment: The fifth reason is uncertainty. They say there is a term “wealth effect.” Even people who have money are afraid to spend it because of the uncertainty so the consumer economy is coming to its end.

My Response: There is nowhere to spend! Offer them something so that they can produce it and make money on it.

Comment: They are afraid to spend money because they do not know what will happen with employment tomorrow. There is no confidence in the future.

My Response: Then these people are not really rich. A rich person is the one who has practically unlimited possibilities to cover more than his vital needs.

Comment: The sixth reason is the development of technology, which will lead to an even greater division of rich and poor, and correspondingly, to unemployment.

My Response: Of course, since there is no consumption. Therefore, big wars periodically occur. But today they are very expensive, and no one knows how they will end.

In principle, once wars solved problems, but today they do not because there are no borders: go where you want, live where you want. You can buy any passport. Therefore, there are no objective reasons for wars. Only religious, ideological wars remain.

Question: The seventh reason is a change in man’s internal needs. In your opinion, is this the main reason?

Answer: Yes. It kills everything else. This is the end of the consumer economy.

Now the virus is destroying a huge industrial jet that has been driven by tourism and travel. Hotels around the world, planes, cruise liners, guides, and huge masses of goods associated with this industry, all this no longer exists and will not exist. People do not want to wander around the world. There is nothing to entice them.

Something will have to be done with thousands of unnecessary planes. Maybe take them somewhere to the desert. They say they can be kept well there. And what will come up there? A museum of our era? But you cannot get away from this. It is just over! We need to understand that we cannot build a new world with old tools.

Interweaving Our Desires

253The revelation of the Creator is possible only if we are connected and become integrated with each other, intertwining our desires like woven cloth. Like a shuttle runs on a loom passing the thread once above another thread, then under it, so our desires are intertwined. Each one enters between the others, once above them, and then below them, like in a tightly woven fabric, and so we build a connection between us in which the Creator can be revealed.

The Nation With A Special Plan Of Development

419Remark: After the exile from Spain and flourishing in Germany, Jewish communities in the 16th century moved to Poland, Little Russia, and the Baltic states. Until the middle of the nineteenth century, Jews lived in closed communities, united by one language, one trade, and one religion.

My Comment: The fact is that the development of the Jews does not happen in the same way as other nations. Throughout history, they constantly needed to care about how to come to unity and show this method to all the nations of the world. This is the essence of the Jews, their purpose, the reason for their existence.

After all, this is not a nation, but a collective group of all the nations of the world, which was assembled in Ancient Babylon by Abraham who brought them out of there and made a single nation out of them.

However, since they do not have a common biological root, they very often fall apart and move away from each other. If the idea that unites them from the inside is not manifested in them or they are not pressed by enemies from the outside, they do not feel close to each other.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, this nation has its own development plan.

For more on this topic, read my books Like a Bundle of Reeds: why unity and mutual guarantee are today’s call of the hour, and The Jewish Choice: Unity or Anti-Semitism, Historical facts on anti-Semitism as a reflection of Jewish social discord.
