The Only Teacher

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn our world there is only one teacher, guide, and Rav—the Creator. There is no one else! The Creator, the upper positive force, manages everything and creates the relatively negative egoistic force.

All the others are participants in this process no matter what role they play. They are sorted only according to the state relative to that teacher—how much they understand Him and carry out His way or the opposite. Only this reflects their state and indicates their level.

I call myself a guide because I try to explain to people how I understand my spiritual teacher and how I understand the teacher, the Creator. I teach people how to find the way to the upper force.

In general, I believe that any person in our world has no other mission than this because the most important thing is to understand how he is associated with the Creator because He manages everything.

Being connected with the Creator is only possible through a group, a ten, with more connections, with greater reciprocity, of dissolving itself in others and drawing inward by absorbing all into itself.

This is the way we should go. And then you will find the teacher, the guide, the friend, and the Rav in one person.

Maturation Of Men

Laitman_036In the News (The Telegraph): “Men finally grow up at the age of 43 – a full 11 years after women ‘mature’, according to a new survey.

“A study into the differences in maturity between genders revealed both men and women agree men remain ‘immature’ well into their late 30s and early 40s.

“But the average age at which women mature emerged as 32.

“Alarmingly, eight out of ten women believe that men ‘never stop being childish’…”

My Comment: During my childhood when I looked at the girls in my class, I was surprised at how early they matured in their thinking and their outlook on life. I felt that I was still far from them. I was very interested in understanding the enormous difference that exists between boys and girls. Girls have an attitude toward life like little women, whereas boys are only interested in soccer, volleyball, etc. Males’ development occurs much later, if ever.

Today it is difficult for a woman to find a partner and marry a man who will provide her with a feeling of support. She wants a man by her side who will give her a feeling of support, psychological support more than physical, because in the modern world a woman can provide everything for herself materially, but simple psychological support is imperative for her. Unfortunately, men do not receive the appropriate training for this.

Question: Why is the maturity of men in our day so impeded?

Answer: It is because we are living much longer, our lives don’t require us to mature. A man can remain in his parents’ home all his life, do any kind of work for a salary, and live with peace of mind. Everything is ready for him, electrical appliances and prepared food; he doesn’t need anything more than this.

I don’t think the age of 40 is the line at which he becomes a man. I see that today even men at the age of 50-60 are still children. They don’t want to take on any responsibility, shoulder any burdens, or work for the family.

A woman is ready to take responsibility for the sake of a family and children. A man is not ready even for that.

We must educate a person to be a spiritual person so that he will understand that he has a higher goal and must create a particular environment around him for this. He needs to understand why he exists and how to build himself.

If we begin to educate him this way, he will begin to mature at the age of 15-20, and toward the age of 20, he will have already been shaped into a man.

laitman_944Question: Can the wisdom of Kabbalah educate people so they feel themselves to be part of human society and responsible for the spirituality of all the nations or is this characteristic only given by the Creator to individuals?

Answer: Kabbalah is intended for the education of people individually and collectively. Through it, we penetrate into the system through which our world is managed and we feel how it is managed with the help of two forces, positive and negative. This means that we bring ourselves to the right state relative to those forces, and in that way we stimulate the rapid development of the world and all of us within it.

Kabbalah is a science of the proper connection between people. It is an educational method for modern people who discover enormous and unlimited egoism that must be balanced urgently.

Marx’s Predictions Come True, Part 6

Laitman_120We can say that Karl Marx has reached a great height; he was as unique as Baal HaSulam, only not on the spiritual level. Marx was a man,who understood the process that is happening in the world and what kind of development awaits us.

He made drew conclusions according to the initial symptoms that manifested in his time on the basis of his research and statistics of textile factory workers.

He was an economist and versed in these matters. With the symptoms of the beginning of egoistic development at the dawn of the industrial revolution and the first mechanization with steam engines, when there wasn’t even electricity, he already knew where it would lead. He was a real economist compared with all other economists who only studied tricks that help to pump more dollars.

Marx felt the driving force of development because he understood that it comes from human egoism and that it could not lead to anything good. Therefore, it is preferable to move in the direction of equality. Baal HaSulam also said that the life of the last generation will be based on equality and universal integration.

Only Marx didn’t see it from the spiritual level like Baal HaSulam, but Marx drew his conclusions as an economist. He said that it is preferable not to continue economic development in the capitalist form, but it is better to start rebuilding society based on equality.

In fact, he didn’t believe that it would happen immediately. Judging by his work, he understood that first preparation and training are required to raise the consciousness of the proletariat to the next level. After all, in his time the workers were completely ignorant.

Today we finally begin to study what we were laughing at during the last hundred and fifty years. His contemporaries didn’t understand Marx. Thirty or forty years after him, the revisionists appeared who distorted Marx’s method in every possible way. Both Lenin and Stalin were also consequences of these mistakes.

Yet Marx’s Capital in itself is a prophecy of the economy. There is no doubt that during the current crisis it will get a new life. The only problem is with the stereotypes established against Marx and the identification of “Marxism” in its Soviet interpretation.

Was Adam HaRishon Phoenician?

laitman_747_01Question: There are scientists who believe that the Hebrew alphabet was originally created from Phoenician, a language that existed a long time before the Hebrew alphabet. Could it be that Adam HaRishon (the First Man) was Phoenician?

Answer: I cannot say whether Adam HaRishon was Phoenician, but he was the first person in our world to discover the upper force and describe it. I don’t know if the Phoenician people existed 6,000 years ago; I have not come across historical documents that would prove this. I rely upon the writings of Kabbalah and the Torah.

It could sound like my words are unbelievable and unproven, but the wisdom of Kabbalah confirms and verifies these things, and I rely on that.

Question: Does that mean we don’t know the nationality of Adam?

Answer: In the time of Adam HaRishon there were no nationalities. Nationalities appeared 3,500 years, after humanity’s exodus from Babylon. Before then, as the Torah says, there was one people composed of different tribes, and they all lived together in ancient Babylon.

Only after the Babylonians dispersed and settled all over the face of the Earth did various peoples and nations appear.

Comment: Scientists have studied the Jewish genome and determined that it is absolutely identical to that of the Iraqis. In fact, the Jews were also emigrants from Babylon, emigrants from Iraq.

My Comment: Iraq is the territory of ancient Babylon. But in principle this doesn’t matter because the Jews are not a nationality. They are a group of people Abraham gathered to be his students who united around him according to the principle “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18).

They had to do this to attain the upper world. After they began to realize the law “And you shall love your friend as yourself” and through it attained the upper world, the upper management system, they began to call themselves Jews (Yehudim). The word “Yehudi” comes from the word “Yichud” (Unification), “Achdut” (Unity), and the word “Ivri” (Hebrew) means a transition from feeling our world to feeling the upper world. So Jews are not a nationality, but an ideological group,

As for the Iraqis, in a sense, they may be the former Jews who either remained in Babylon or separated from Abraham’s group along the way. But it doesn’t matter! The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t belong to any one nation.

New Life 792 – From Consumerism To Spirituality

New Life 792 – From Consumerism To Spirituality
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Today we measure a person by his assets; status symbols are important to us and we live in constant competition.

Human nature is the desire to enjoy. A person aspires to fill his desire in every action that he performs, like buying something for himself, for example.

Today our ego demands filling and we don’t know how to fill it. The consumer culture today is characterized by buying things that we actually don’t need as a result of advertising that creates this need in us. A person’s self disappears; he doesn’t think about anything and only worries about having money in his pocket.

The only way to break out of the consumerism cycle is through new comprehensive social education. A person must have a greater goal in life, something whole and eternal.

The next product we will market to humanity will be the essence of life, through which a person will contact eternity. A person aspires to ascend above life and death; he refuses to feel limited
