What Language Does the Creator Speak?

237Question: What language does the Creator speak?

Answer: The language of bestowal and love. Therefore, we do not hear Him and we do not feel Him because we do not use this language.

Question: You wrote that there is a difference between awe and fear of the Creator. Awe is a certain caution in communication. So should we be afraid of the Creator or not?

Answer: No, you can’t perceive it that way. All human descriptions come from egoism and therefore cannot be truthful and complete sources of any direct feelings toward the Creator, or the opposite, from Him.

Truth Should Be Paid For

547.05Comment: From a letter: “You talk all the time about the fact that there is only evil in us. There is no good in us, no love; there is evil, there is ego, and that’s it. But if a person reveals this in himself, don’t you think that he will begin to be afraid of himself?”

My Response: To be afraid that you will act accordingly with your evil? You’re already doing that. Reveal yourself to yourself? It’s very, very hard and almost unbelievable. We are distracted every second from this very thing, from the revelation of ourselves. To reveal the “I” itself within yourself, this is an incredible work of a person.

Question: Why is there such a hide and seek game? Why can’t we be taken and directed to this so that we want to escape from this evil?

Answer: If you have a very serious need for this, then dig in. It depends only on your desire. It is hidden from you and reveals itself to the extent of your urgent striving to work on yourself. It’s not easy.

Question: That means, the goal should not be to reveal the evil in yourself. There must be some other goal and evil is revealed along the way?

Answer: The goal should be to reveal the connection with the Creator. And on the way, He points out what’s stopping you.

Question: In this letter there was also a sub-question: “If this is so, will it be necessary to somehow detach yourself from this evil?”

Answer: You won’t be able to do it, it will turn out to be a lie, a falsity. If you want to separate yourself, then this is another, long-term job.

This is our development, this is our life.

Question: A person at some point will want the truth and not sweet? And no matter how bitter it is, he will want to live like this, in truth?

Answer: He will want it as much as he will be able to pay for it. It is said about this: “Buy the truth, but do not sell it.” This is a serious degree.

“Tree” in the Spiritual Sense

632.3Comment: Rabash has an article about Tu B’shevat (the new year of trees) in which he tells how to care for trees, prepare the soil, fertilize, do something with the roots, remove dry branches. It is clear that we are talking about a tree inside a person, i.e., about his inner work.

My Response: Indeed, in order to get good fruits from trees, a lot of work must be done around them. Citing trees as an example, Rabash as if addresses a person who must grow himself to become a fruitful tree.

For example: to prepare the ground means to prepare the right environment around you. To fertilize the soil means to bring good, nice books and games to a person with the help of which he could develop correctly.
Removing dry branches means removing what will not bring any good fruit so that it does not interfere with progress.

Question: Could it have been described in another way?

Answer: No. Rabash gives such a beautiful and complete example, which is amazing.

Question: There is a book The Tree of Life, which was written by the greatest Kabbalist of the 16th century, the Ari. What is it about?

Answer: It is about the Creator’s governance of creations through all the worlds to our lowest world so that we can rise from this low state through all the worlds to the level of the Creator.

Spiritual Volume

558Question: The spiritual world can be characterized as a comparison of incomparable, mutually negating manifestations. In our world, there is either hatred or love, which cannot exist at the same time. Whereas the spiritual world is built on the interaction of these opposites.

What is this phenomenon? It is written in the sources that it is for this reason the revelation of the Creator is such great pleasure.

Answer: The spiritual world is built on the fact that our egoistic desire forces us to start correcting it with the help of an altruistic intention.

Therefore, spiritual reception, in which egoistic desire and altruistic intention are combined, gives us such huge opportunities for cognition and expansion of consciousness, states we can define, evaluate, weigh, and experience completely new units of measurement called Aviut (thickness of desire), Masach (screen), Ohr Hozer (reflected light)—units, with which the science of Kabbalah operates.

These opposite states give spiritual volume. There is no volume at the material level, as only one side prevails.

The Creator Shines to Us through Friends

943Can love for the Creator be greater than love for friends? It simply cannot be that I treat the Creator better than my friends. After all, the friends are my spiritual Kli, as it is said: “And from the love of friends one can reach love of the Creator.”

Therefore, we must understand that just as much as we are drawn to the Creator, we must first of all strive to unite with our friends in the same way, and even more strongly. But in practice, it usually happens the other way around. A person strives for the Creator and this is his goal, but in his friends, according to his egoistic nature, in the ten, in love for his neighbor, he does not see the importance.

We begin our journey with the desire to find the upper force that controls us. But we gradually begin to discover that we need a spiritual Kli, which is based on love for friends, unity, and a sense of the importance of all mankind. It turns out that the attitude toward our neighbor becomes more important to us than the attitude toward the Creator.

Although the Creator is more important, is the ultimate goal, the Creator is everything, at the same time, the importance of friends is revealed to us because if the Creator shines on us, it is through them. It turns out that friends are becoming more and more important to me, and I am building such an image of the group in my heart so that it becomes my Kli where I will reveal the Creator and my attitude toward Him.

Therefore, the question: “Can love for the Creator be greater than love for friends” requires a very simple answer: today, the group is most important to us. Although the ultimate goal, meaning, the Creator, always stands before us as a guiding star, we can reach this guiding star only in the chariot called the ten.

Against One’s Will

155In Kabbalah, the effort of a person is his personal aspiration to the Creator. If it is made on the background of contradictions and rejection, then this effort is directed toward the Creator.

If it passes through a group, through a person’s laziness, if it is built in accordance with the instructions of the Kabbalists, then in the end, obviously, it is correct, and this is felt in the way you fulfill it, realize it.

And if there is no resistance of the body, then there is no spiritual action, because such an action is directed against egoism, bounces off it, rises above it, and is carried out in spite of it.

But what does “against it” mean? Can we do this? We can if we raise the importance of altruistic action above the egoistic, that is, we will work in a group of like-minded people and then gradually we will receive from them the importance of actions that are completely unusual for us.

But then, if we understand it well, we will realize that these actions were egoistic too. We just picked them up from the group, from the environment, like a soldier who runs into battle because everyone around him acts like that and infects him with their desire.

However, this is not yet a spiritual action. Another one is built above it when you begin to realize that this action must be directed toward the Creator. But you do not see and do not understand its meaning. Then you start asking for strength to fulfill it.

You do not want anything, only that the idea of the importance of the Creator would be so strong in your feelings that all other actions of this world would fade before it. You cannot give this action any real justification, but it is the yearning for it outside of yourself, from yourself, that leads to an understanding of what spiritual reality is.

Patience and Perseverance

532First of all, we need patience. I am on the path, I have to walk a few more miles to reach my goal, and so today I have to move forward at least an inch. Therefore, I have to be patient.

This patience must be dynamic, that is, effective, so that I understand that I am steadily taking another step and another step forward. I have to feel that every day I am going over new discernments. What did not work out yesterday, I am trying to do today, and I see it as advancement.

Even if I despair from the lack of success and criticize the path, this is already a success because yesterday I did not feel that there wasn’t any success, I did not understand that I was making a mistake and was not progressing. And today I feel it, and this is a part of the progress.

It is impossible to advance in any other way. Advancement always happens on the basis of descents, and problems, and revelation of the shattering. If there is no shattering, then there is nothing to correct and nowhere to advance. Therefore, the shattering was arranged even before our creation, and then we began to exist from a small informational gene (Reshimo), which began to develop.

However, here you have to be very consistent so that at the very moment you feel a lack of success, be ready to immediately continue.

The Effectiveness of Spiritual Work

530The effectiveness of spiritual work depends on how much I feel its importance and the support of the environment. This means, I am connected with a group that is constantly undergoing changes in such a dynamic that we feel as if we are in a single boat sailing through a raging sea. Yet, we are heading toward the cherished goal, the promised shore.

The main thing is to realize that we are inside the field of the upper force that controls us and arranges everything both from within and from without; it changes us, confuses us, hinders us, and helps us. It plays with us like an adult does with a child, trying to awaken in us all kinds of desires and thoughts that contribute to our development so that the child grows up and becomes ready for the future adult life.

This is the help we want to receive from the Creator through the friends in the ten in order to advance spiritually.

What Can I Ask for Myself?

43Rabash writes that if a person prays for himself, then he elicits punishment on himself by this action because he thinks about himself and not about others.

How can you, while in an integrated system, think about yourself? This completely negates its integrality.

You should only pray for the things that are most necessary for you, that make it possible to exist and maintain the integrality of the whole system. Then it is called necessary and sufficient.

From an Unconscious State to Conscious

715Question: What happens in the feeling of my present “I” when I reach the spiritual level of perception?

Answer: Your current “I” is associated with all the great volume of desires and thoughts. You feel that it includes absolutely all of creation. All the worlds, the entire “Adam” are you.

Kabbalah says that initially such a structure was created in which the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels of nature are perfect, created by light, the Creator, the upper force.

But in order to give this structure the opportunity to experience itself to a full measure, as if to recognize itself anew so as to feel equal to the force that created it, meaning to the Creator, and become independent, it is necessary to exit this state into the absolute opposite of it, from a perfect state to an imperfect one, to separate yourself from it completely and only then begin to realize who you are, and gradually correct this separation by yourself.

For example, if we give a person all the kindest, best things and fill his life with everything he wants, then he takes this for granted. He is not inspired, he does not enjoy, he is not impressed. He has everything and this is the norm for him.

Let’s pull him out of this state so that he would feel what it means to be the opposite of it, let’s give him the opportunity to evaluate by himself the difference between both states and gradually approach a good state, but with his own efforts, to earn it.

At the same time, a constant impression from a bad state remains in him, he recognizes it more and more clearly. Approaching the good state, he sees a more comfortable, happy, eternal state compared to the opposite one, and increasingly feels the difference between them. Earning this good state on his own, he does not lose the bad one. Thus, by connecting two parts together, absolutely bad and absolutely good, he feels them one against the other.

Then he has a perception from minus infinity to plus infinity, and he really feels that he is an absolute. This, in principle, is what the Creator, the upper force, wanted to give us in sensation.

When we come to this state, when all the negative and positive come together and complement each other in one universal perfect harmony, this is the state of complete correction.
