The Whole History of Humanity in One Phrase

202.0Comment: There is a parable about an eastern ruler who wanted to know the whole history of mankind. A sage brought him five hundred volumes. The ruler responded, “Who can read this? Put it in a concise form.”

Twenty years later, the sage returned with fifty volumes. But the king was already old, so he sent him away again.

Another twenty years passed. And the aged, gray-haired sage brought the ruler a single volume containing all the wisdom of the world. The ruler was on his deathbed and did not have time to read even one book. Then the sage told him the history of mankind in one line: “A person is born, suffers, and dies.”

Is this the history of humanity?

My Response: That is five hundred volumes, yes.

Question: Can you imagine?! All this wisdom and history, so much has been stated, and as a result we bring one line: “A person is born, suffers and dies.” Is this our world?

Answer: Of course. And we are spinning in it in order to add more and more volumes, volumes, volumes.

Question: The question is: Why be born?

Answer: Why be born? In principle, this is incomprehensible to a person. Therefore, he sees neither the beginning nor the end. He sees himself only on the animal level: the birth of an animal body, the suffering of an animal body, some pleasures of an animal body, and the death of an animal body. Nothing else.

Comment: We can’t get off the ground, so to say.

My Response: If we can’t go higher, we don’t understand the meaning.

Question: So if we cannot rise higher, then the whole history of humanity is: a person is born, suffers, and dies. And if we can rise or want to rise higher, then what becomes the history of humanity?

Answer: Then it is necessary to detach from the animal body, to rise above it, and not to live by its desires, aspirations, and so on. Then you will begin to feel what your spiritual body requires of you.

Question: What does this formula turn into? It turns out that what is born is when I rise above egoism? It is born, and then suffers, then what does it turn into?

Answer: One separates oneself from egoism, rises above it, and begins to feel nature in a different form, in bestowal, in love, and in connection and reciprocity. Not in receiving, as in the animal body, but in bestowal, as in the spiritual body.

Question: And then what does suffering turn into?

Answer: Into pleasure.

Question: So you said: “Enjoys and lives forever.” Is this the formula of real humanity?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: It is very bitter to me that our earthly formula is “born, suffers and dies.”

My Response: And without it there would be no other. We would not be able to achieve eternal form through our own efforts, our own capabilities.

Question: So there should be such an initial formula so that we attain it and want to get out of it?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: It’s been going on for millennia. Millennia, millennia, millennia.

My Response: So what?

Comment: We are writing volumes of history!

My Response: These are souls! And what is there in this history and volumes?! All this is nothing!

Question: So a person must be born to live forever, right?

Answer: Of course. I think we are already coming to this gradually.

My optimism comes from the absolute pessimism of our world. I think humanity will shake itself up, That we will not agree to live for this life.

Is Food the Meaning of Life?

506.3Comment: People spend most of their life on food, everything revolves around nutrition. Why is the system built in such a way that the process of nutrition practically occupies our entire life?

My Response: What else would you do?

If we had organized life in our world correctly, in accordance with the upper spiritual roots, we would deal with the food issue for a maximum of two hours a day for normal, rational self-sustenance and devote the rest of the time to our spiritual development and fulfillment.

Instead, we spend time making unnecessary things, selling them to each other, quickly bringing them to the “cemetery,” and making new ones.

In principle, sleep, nutrition, and spiritual work are what a person needs in this life in order to quickly begin to feel a new, quantum spiritual world and pass into eternity, into perfection.

What else do we need? Why should we linger here, at this waypoint?

How Much Longer for Changes for the Better?

543.02Comment: One day a disciple asked his master: “How long do we wait for changes for the better?” “If you wait, it will take a long time,” the master replied.

We always have two possibilities: either to wait for a change for the better, or to not wait and to act. We see today that actions lead mainly to hatred, to a desire to change others. This is called action. I have a feeling that it is better not to act.

My Response: Actually, yes.

Question: What do you think is the right approach?

Answer: The right approach is to consciously dissolve in nature. Nature is the Creator. As much as we agree with this nature, with how it flows and what it does, it is much easier for us to accept the truth.

Question: So are you in favor of accepting?

Answer: What can you do?

Comment: Be proactive somehow. Here the wise man said: “Act.”

My Response: No, there is no point.

Question: So for you, the action is to accept what is happening? Can this be called an action?

Answer: Of course, you are working on yourself.

Question: Is it something active?

Answer: Of course. You force yourself to accept nature, or the Creator, as the only objective force of reality that exists.

Question: So I justify what is happening to me?

Answer: Of course, and everything around you.

Question: This is clearly a fantasy, but if everyone acted this way—politicians, scientists, what would happen? What would everything turn into?

Answer: Everything would be good and quiet. We would agree with the course of our lives and would calmly observe it.

Question: What about science, medicine, technology, and technological progress?

Answer: These too are given to us to gradually master and realize that none of them will change anything in the end.

Question: What is action and non-action? What is an action in agreement with what is happening?

Answer: This means that I fully trust the Creator and do not want to change anything according to my mind. I do not want to run ahead of what is happening. In general, I am not interested in any problems or any states. I am interested in involving myself in this and going with the flow. Not because I am lazy, but because I do not want to interfere in what is happening with my brains or my strength.

Question: The master was asked: “How long do we wait for changes for the better?” He replied: “If you wait, it will take a long time.” How would you answer? Or how would you comment on it?

How long do we wait for changes for the better?

Answer: There is no need to wait. The best is what is now. As you change yourself, your perception will change accordingly. Take everything philosophically.

Man and Woman: An Ideal Relationship

507.03In the corporeal world we very often observe the beginning and the end of relationships between a man and a woman because our world is built on an egoistic basis. This cannot happen in the spiritual world because there is a constant continuity, an “eternal orgasm.”

Question: What is the ideal use of spiritual rules for a person’s protein life?

Answer: It is to become like the relationship between the Creator and the creation! This is the purpose of our existence here—to learn about the eternal, great, and powerful contact with the Creator and build it at all levels from the world of infinity to our world. This is the final correction of man. And the rest of nature is also included in man.

The ideal relationship between a man and a woman will happen when they begin to complement each other correctly so that the Creator, the force of bestowal and love, is revealed between them. This cannot happen if there is no upper attainment.

Therefore, nothing can be solved at the level of our world.

Should We Live for Ourselves?

79.01Comment: The following text is very popular on the Internet:

Do you know what will happen after your funeral? After a few hours, the crying stopped. Your family will be busy ordering food from hotels and caterers for relatives. Grandchildren running and playing. … A relative may complain about funeral expenses and that he/she had spent a few hundred dollars more on his/her share. The crowd will slowly dissolve. In the coming days, some calls may come to your phone without knowing you are dead. Your office will be rushing to find someone to replace you. One week later, after hearing the news of your death, some Facebook friends may search with curious sadness to know what your last post was. In a few days, your son and daughter will be busy shopping and packing before they return to work as their emergency leave ends. At the end of the month, your spouse will watch a comedy show and laughing. Some siblings and relatives will ask about the properties and assets you had, if any. In the coming months, your close relationships will return to the cinema and the beach. Everybody’s life will go back to normal just as there is no difference between a withered leaf of a big tree and what you lived and died for. It all happens so easily, so fast, with no movement. This world will forget you and be in a grave at an astonishing pace. Meanwhile, your first death anniversary will be celebrated lavishly. In the blink of an eye, years have passed and there is no one to talk to about you. One day, just looking at some old photos, one of your close friends may remember you. In your hometown, of the thousands of people you’ve become acquainted with, only one person, as you have ever been, can rarely talk to anyone about you. You may live elsewhere, as someone else, if reincarnation is true. Otherwise, you will be nothing and will be plunged into darkness for decades. People are waiting to forget you easily. Then who are you running around for? And who are you worried for? For most of your life, say 80%, you think about what your relatives (excluding love ones) and neighbours think about you. Are you living a life to satisfy them?

My Response: That is another matter. But it is not an end in itself—what am I living for? It does not solve the issue. “Live for yourself”; that is, I will live for myself, I will not think about anyone. Then what?

Comment: I will pass away the same way someday. This is understandable. The worry here is that everyone will forget me. Everyone to whom I have given so much warmth.

My Response: There is no question about this, this is understandable. They will forget.

Question: Then what is the conclusion? If everyone forgets me, everyone I did so much good to.

Answer: I am not going to live inside others because they are mortal too. Why do I invest in others? Just to be closer to the Creator. Otherwise, what are people for?

Comment: When I say, I live for others, I am living for others. But you say, I live for others in order to come closer to the Creator.

My Response: Of course. Because others, too, will disappear today or tomorrow.

Comment: That is, others and everything else exist precisely so that I move, and come closer to the Creator.

My Response: Of course. I can remember how much my parents invested in me, and I cannot get away from this, this is with me all the time. But I look at my grandchildren, they do not care at all, and they do not feel how much their grandparents invested in order for them to exist. And so on. That is, after a generation, it is practically no longer felt.

Question: Does it mean that all is perishable, and it all goes away? Only our coming closer to the Creator is eternal, right?

Answer: Of course.

Question: Then what is this coming closer to the Creator?

Answer: Coming closer to the Creator means becoming included in an endless chain of caring for each other. We should feel that caring for each other is eternal. It leads to a feeling of eternity.

Question: Does the purpose of life lie in this? Is it precisely in this?

Answer: Yes. Then you come closer to the Creator with your feelings, time disappears, and only feelings remain.

Question: What is He, the Creator? What do I want? What does it mean to come closer to the Creator?

Answer: To come to absolute care for others. For another! If I can forget about myself and think about someone else, then I enter into eternity. We will begin to feel this eternity. You, as if, will move into others, and in this, you will feel infinity.

Question: I do not have such a thought, such a wormhole: “What will I get in return?” Doesn’t this exist?

Answer: This will be what you get. You will begin to feel eternity in your attitude to the other.

Question: Is the main goal to come closer to the Creator, and everything around us is given to us in order to come closer to Him?

Answer: Yes

Question: What about wars, sufferings, tragedies, and diseases?

Answer: Without them, we would not be able to feel all this. This is also necessary. That is, the evil inclination is specially created so that we feel ourselves rising above it.

Question: Is our task to rise above all this?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: For people, this is such pain, suffering, and so on, and you say, all of it is also for this.

My Response: This is necessary.

Question: Is it possible without it? To go through life in a clean, smooth way?

Answer: No, the person is not able to. He must go through anger, through the evil inclination; otherwise, he will not feel the good.

Do We Need to Prolong Life?

760.4Question: The Royal Family of Saudi Arabia has decided to invest a billion dollars annually in a non-profit organization that develops life extension technologies.

The Hevolution Foundation will distribute grants for development of anti-aging drugs and their clinical trials. They want to find the means to delay onset of diseases and open them to the masses. They say that it will be not just for the royal family.

It is interesting that part of humanity is looking for how to depart quietly, without pain. And part of humanity is looking for how to prolong life and to be beautiful and young. Toward which part do you lean more?

Answer: I believe that there really is no particular sense in prolonging human life. It is necessary to invest in making human life meaningful. It takes many, many billions of dollars or riyals—no matter what currency—to convey to a person the real meaning of a happy life. But how long you will live, it all depends on public awareness.

People used to live for 30, 40, 50, or 60 years. I remember that when I was little, people died at the age of 60 to 65, and it was considered that a person had lived a normal life.

Question: So, are you in favor of turning the focus around, not to live long and healthy, but to live with awareness that I am looking for the meaning of life?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: Interesting! This is a revolution in the mindset of a person.

My Response: Of course. If they had invented such a pill that instead of me shuffling my feet on my parquet for another 15 years I would cheerfully go to the next world but with a good result—finding the meaning of life—then it would be better.

If you offer me such a pill, I am ready, I will subscribe to it. Take away those 15 or however many years and give me the meaning of life. Don’t just tell me, but to make it so that I attain the real meaning.

Question: Tell me, when does this understanding arise in a person that he is ready to give everything?

Answer: It cannot be that our life has no meaning. This issue needs to be explained. Then, starting from it and further, we need to introduce a person gradually into the revelation of the meaning of life, its true meaning.

Question: Would even the richest people want to give all their money just to discover and achieve this?

Answer: That is what people will invest in with pleasure. Because if we develop such a methodology, such education, such upbringing, and such public opinion on the importance of finding the meaning of life, and we find this meaning and further develop it and advertise it everywhere (maybe even impose it), then, of course, our life will find true meaning. It is worth giving all the money in the world for this.

It is because while a person is young, he runs and rushes. Then, when he is mature, he rushes to somehow arrange his life.

When he is old, he rushes not to get sick and suffer less. Then he is done, he drops his hands and waits… The tired one leaves.

Question: And here, he is young all the time. In a constant search for the meaning of life.

The key question is what is it—the meaning of life?

Answer: The meaning of life is to know the eternity of the world.

Question: When you say “the eternity of the world,” what kind of world do you mean? What is the eternity of the world? I see this world. But what kind of world do you say is eternal?

Answer: I am talking about the eternity of the existence of the soul of man.

Question: Do you mean we need to stick to it?

Answer: Sure. Identify yourself with it and not with the body.

There Is No Purpose Inside This Life

958Question: When you were looking for Kabbalah, were you a rather egoistic person that counted on great attainments?

Answer: Naturally. Am I going to waste my life on the cheap stuff? I was interested in a very serious goal: what is it that is worth living for?

To be a millionaire? I’ve seen a lot of people do that. And what’s next? I realized very early—such is my character and such is my fate—that there is no purpose inside this life. Although I love all its manifestations: delicious food, watching nature, listening to music, etc., but above this, not in spite of this, but above this, there was an absolutely clear confidence that whatever is in this life, good or bad, there is no purpose in it.

So where is it?! Our very existence indicates its aimlessness. Every moment we just burn our life and that is it.

So if this is the essence of the existence of protein matter, to live a certain number of years and then turn back into inanimate matter, then go and enjoy yourself. There is nothing else to be invented here.

But what if it is still possible to figure out the meaning? After all, nature makes sense or it should, at least! It cannot be that all this greatness, such a powerful, intelligent system, has no purpose.

So look for it to the maximum, what have you got to lose? That you won’t think all the time about how to stuff yourself with some pleasures.

Allocate the time to find meaning! It is also an occupation, not at the animate level, but a little higher. Of course you will be in relative restlessness, in search. But it still ennobles and gives you a sense of your own importance.

That’s how I was looking for it. It is fate.

The Diamond Is in You

198Comment: There is a Buddhist parable about a professional pickpocket that lived in the city of jewelers. One day, he saw a man buy an incredibly stunning huge diamond that this pickpocket had wanted to acquire his whole life. So, he followed the man, got on the train, and sat in the same compartment. Once the man fell asleep, he checked through all the man’s clothes, but could not find the diamond. When the man left to the bathroom, he checked the man’s bags and suitcases, but still could not find it.

Upon leaving the train, the pickpocket followed him and earnestly told him: “I am a pickpocket, a professional. I never fail. Everything was clean. I followed you to tell you I could not find the diamond I wanted to steal from you.”

The man answered: “I saw you right away. When I was buying the diamond, I realized you would follow me, that you wanted this diamond. So I hid it where you would not look for it.”

“Where is this place?”—exclaimed the pickpocket.

“I hid it in your pocket.”

In conclusion, the “diamond” you seek is right next to you, closer than your breath.

We always look for these “diamonds” somewhere out there. All the time. We dedicate our lives to it, fighting, hating, searching. But in fact, it is so close. It is right here—in our “pocket,” in us.

What is this “diamond?” And why cannot we find it?

Answer: Find the real you, do not look for something in others; it is not there. Everyone has their own. One must find one’s own—one’s soul, one’s most intimate. And then a person will find everything in life. But if you look for it in others, you will never find it. It will not be yours.

Question: What does it mean to find yourself?

Answer: To find yourself is to find your connection with the Creator, the innermost point in the heart. This is this great, big, special stone.

Question: Is this connection with the Creator, this diamond, found in every person?

Answer: In everyone. This is the point of connection with the Creator. This is our personal diamond.

Question: Must everyone find it?

Answer: Of course.

Question: We always fall into despair. We keep looking for it, but we cannot find it, we search, but do not find. Must we face constant discouragement and make all attempts to find it?

Answer: Calm down, because this diamond is in you. You only need to find the connection with the Creator within yourself.

Question: When does the wisdom come to a person that everything is in me?

Answer: It is a result of experience.

Question: And the experience, must it be bitter?

Answer: It takes time. A couple of decades.

Question: And when I come to the fact that everything is in me, will I be at peace?

Answer: Naturally. After all, you have found the central point of your world—where the Creator and you exist.

We Consider Ourselves to be God

294.2Question: What does a dog think about man? “He feeds me, takes care of me, walks me. He must be God.” What does a cat think about a person? “He feeds me, takes care of me. I guess I am God.”

What do we humans think about the Creator? He feeds us, He takes care of us. What do we think about Him?

Answer: That we are God.

Question: Why? Why can’t I say: “Thank You! You take care of me. You are God.”

Answer: Because by doing so, I lose my independence.

Question: Do I want this freedom, do I need independence?

Answer: Yes, of course. This is how we are created.

Question: So, He as if cut us off from Himself?

Answer: Actually, He concealed Himself so I would re-establish the right relationship with Him myself.

Question: Is this possible only if I do not see Him?

Answer: Yes. If I cannot find Him, but keep looking for Him, I gradually realize that He is, in fact, the center of my existence.

Question: At what point do I start looking for Him? At what point am I dissatisfied with myself, my efforts, and my capabilities?

Answer: When you become utterly disillusioned with your search: for yourself, life, the purpose of life, the Creator, and so on, then you start getting closer to finding Him.

Question: Do I have to reach disillusionment?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: But I have to invest in the search.

My Response: Absolutely, everything you have got.

Question: Is it about doing everything myself; should my efforts be such?

Answer: Yes. And after you realize that you cannot do anything yourself, you begin to wonder where is this connection with the Creator found?

Question: You said: “I cannot do anything.” Is there really nothing I can do?

Answer: Nothing. Until one puts up his hands and completely entrusts himself to the upper force, nothing will work.

Question: Today we see that wars and crises are nearing, there will be more and more of them, environmental disasters, and so on. Will this lead us to the point of realizing that we cannot do anything?

Answer: Good question. What we see today, I doubt will lead to the realization. Humanity still has very little awareness of its situation, its dependence. It thinks it can still do something.

Question: So I have to pull this “rug” out from under me to see I can’t do anything?

Answer: Yes.

Question: And this is the main theme: “We cannot do anything without You?”

Answer: We cannot do anything without the Creator.

What Is Worth Living For?

198In the future, a person will live only for the sake of spiritual attainment, for the sake of spiritual life, which he will be revealing here and now.

It is not worth living for the sake of everything else. What is the point of this existence? Think at what expense and how much suffering a person receives pleasure in this world?

Take stock and tell me whether it is worth living when every minute you are fighting for a comfortable existence, you go through all this and you achieve just a few moments a day of some kind of relaxation and pleasure, and you spend the rest of your time trying to avoid suffering somehow.

Is it worth living like this? It is completely irrational! Look at our world from the outside, look at our existence: eight billion little people—who do, after all, have a mind—are swarming around. Look at what they do with their minds and with their nature, and yet they still cling to this terrible life, if you can call it life!

Therefore when a person’s eyes begin to open gradually, he will make a calculation and say: “There is absolutely no point in this existence. Only the fear of death keeps me here. But I will swallow the pill and stop being afraid, just give it to me.”

What is the point? Will tomorrow be better than today?! And there is still old age ahead, which means even greater torment when you are alone, abandoned, useless to anyone, and gradually dying in a cold nursing home.

Therefore people who make the right calculation with this world live only in order to attain the upper world.
