Question: It’s obvious to everyone that we have reached a dead end and urgently need to take action. But it’s unclear exactly what kind of solution does Baal HaSulam offer, and what method do you propose to stop the system that launches rockets at us? Do you feel that military actions will not lead to anything?

Answer: I am not saying that we should not defend ourselves at all. We must react to attacks, but only in order to win some time, which would allow us to set out on the new path.

Question: Until a new wave of escalations begins?

Answer: If we start dealing with this problem correctly, the way our Torah directs us, then there will be no new wave. The Torah requires that we connect between ourselves. Currently we are now in the same situation like before Mount Sinai, and we must become like one man with one heart. If we unite, we will achieve success, and if not, it will be the place of our burial.

Comment: A lot of people in the Israeli society benefit from the schism in the nation. Everyone hates everyone: Some hate the Russians, others hate natives from Eastern countries, and yet others hate immigrants from Europe. This split is not disappearing, but only getting bigger. Lawyers take bribes, police is negligent of their duties, the entire system is deteriorating….

Answer: This is a clear sign that we urgently need to work on our correction since the root of the problem is specifically in us.

Comment: The Internet is filled with hostile attacks in our direction. We are surrounded by universal hatred and under rocket fire.

Answer: This is exactly the state that is most suitable for correction. Everything was revealed. It became clear that the entire system is broken, and we fail in all areas. We cannot build ourselves.

We are still being held together by the pressure that the hatred of our enemies exerts on us. But if it were not for the neighbors surrounding us from every direction with drawn swords, yearning to destroy us in our own country, we would have started killing each other.

We can only thank those who hate us for the fact that they are holding us together, like nuts in a bag. Otherwise we would have long dispersed, leaving no memory of the nation of Israel which is able to rise. We haven’t disappeared yet among seven billion people only thanks to the external hatred.

We are at the final point, a second before correction. And this correction will happen either through blows or through our reason that can help us take the process of correction into our own hands and to advance through the good path. We will either go by the path of Light and acceleration of time (Achishena) or by the path of suffering, the natural course of development (Beito).

The path of Light implies that we will begin to educate ourselves. There is no other possibility to reach correction but education of all. It is necessary to bring the method of correction to the entire nation and explain what it means to be the chosen people, why we are so hated, and what we need to do in order to really move forward and advance all of humanity.

Everyone has to discover what nature is demanding from us. The word “nature” has the same numerical value (Gematria) as the word “Creator.” It is the same exact force. Each person needs to discover the true Torah, which is given for our own correction through the help of the Light that Reforms.

Torah is the Light that Reforms, and our nature is the evil inclination, our egoism. It is written, “I created the evil inclination and the Torah as addition to it” since with its help we correct egoism. The Light in the Torah, meaning the force of love and bestowal, corrects us. This is why we need to learn how to correct ourselves and to pass this method to the entire world.

These are very simple, easy things. It is said that “the entire Torah is a very simple pursuit.” And it is truly so, if only a person does not confuse it with something else, but does only what is necessary. We must do it.

When you come to the people and start explainןמע this, you will see how readily everyone will agree, how much they will want to listen to you and to join you.

Question: What does it mean that our weapon is unity?

Answer: The point is that when we connect, we join the upper force. It isn’t some mystical upper force that religious people believe in, but the internal force of nature that we accumulate between us when we unite. Through us, this force begins to operate on all of humanity, on the whole world.

The reason for anti-Semitism is that we don’t convey this force to the world. Therefore this force is lacking in the world and the world becomes empty and deteriorates. People chase material acquisitions, which cannot fill anything, and thus they waste their lives.

They don’t know what they are living for and what the meaning of life is, and this is because they don’t receive filling from the upper force. It brings the meaning to life, which is to aspire to be filled with the upper force, feeling it, and then ascending to a different level of existence, to eternity and wholeness.

Every person in the world has this opportunity, and we turn off the tap that lets the Light flow. We don’t serve as the adaptor between the upper force and the world. People feel this subconsciously and therefore see the Jews as the source of all their problems and troubles.

They don’t understand how the whole system operates, which the wisdom of Kabbalah talks about and Kabbalists wrote about for ages, but they do understand instinctively where the root of the problem lies.

We should understand that we are the problem and that the solution is only in becoming a system that conveys the upper force so that it can fill all of humanity.

Question: On one hand, Israel has an external problem, constant air strikes, and on the other hand, within the people, there is a split into many factions and directions. Everyone pulls to his side and hates others. How does this internal separation affect our external security?

Answer: The reason is the same: there is no connection between us. Then of course, there is a split between us, and we do not agree with each other.

Only a tiny part of the population has knowledge of the need for unity, of the method of unity. All the rest don’t know it yet, and they are not very interested in hearing about it.

Therefore, it is not surprising that there is such disunity and division within the nation. Everyone cares about how to get personal benefit from this situation. There is only one reason: lack of connection.

So, we should stop blaming those external enemies surrounding us on all the borders, as well as the internal enemies, that is, our egoism that separates us and makes us hate each other for no reason. You just have to start working against it. There is no other means of correction.

“At Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said the civil rights of minorities, including Arabs, would be guaranteed, and the move was vital at a time when aspects of Israel’s legitimacy were ‘under a constant and increasing assault from abroad and at home.’

“Netanyahu laid out his rationale for the change at the cabinet meeting, ‘The state of Israel is a Jewish and democratic state. Our basic laws give full expression to the democratic side of the state,’ he said. ‘On the other hand, that the state of Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people is not sufficiently expressed in our basic laws, and this is what the draft basic law is meant to provide.’

“’The state of Israel provides full equal rights, individual rights, to all its citizens, but it is the nation state of one people only – the Jewish people – and of no other people. And therefore, in order to bolster the status of the state of Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people, I intend to submit a basic law that will anchor this status.’”

My Comment: Israel is established as a nation by the constitution, i.e., not in a natural way, but by a special law of nature, by the law of correction and by the aspiration for the likeness to the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love, achieving “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

The condition of the constitution, i.e., the Torah is the basic rule of the Jewish people, based on which it was founded and created. It is the law given on Mount Sinai: “To be as one man with one heart,” to be in mutual guarantee, “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you,” and “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

We have existed since the moment of unity among the people under the leadership of Abraham, leaving Babylon due to following these rules and we will be able to exist as a people and state in the future only by observing these rules. Without fulfilling these rules, we are neither a people nor a state.

We are required to set an example in relation to all the nations of the world. This is the meaning and condition of our existence “To be the nation of priests and a holy nation,” to become a “light to the nations of the world.” We must begin to fulfill this condition now, in our time!

Question: The role of the nation of Israel is to direct the world towards bestowal. How does this fit with the principle that it is impossible to correct anything in the world besides myself?

Answer: The world is perfect, meaning that I cannot correct any person besides myself. I cannot sit compulsively on someone and oblige him to change, like the Socialists did in Russia. I will not gain anything with it.

The only thing that I am prepared to do is to explain to a person what is happening. And if he decides that this is truly right and he wants to change his fate, then he will change.

We are talking from the side of our history, from the books of the Kabbalists upon which we rely. We have nothing else upon which to rely. We see that everything that is happening today is written in books, and so we have the strength to think that tomorrow will also happen as it is written in them.

If this was right yesterday and today, it is logical to suppose that the Kabbalists spoke the truth about what will happen tomorrow also. So I want to hear their voice and ensure for myself and my children a better future.

And besides this, they explain everything that is happening so logically, and in particular what is happening to the people of Israel, the reasons for anti-Semitism in the whole world. There are a number of reasons that it is impossible for us to relax and wait.

I don’t intend to correct anything; indeed, I cannot change a person and the world. I only show him what is written in our sources and don’t compel him to believe in something with blind faith. I explain the opinion of the wisdom of Kabbalah, which scientific investigators also support more and more day by day, and he will decide for himself.

I don’t convince him to accept our method, and it doesn’t belong to me either. If I write about some natural law, I am not obliged to add that I love it and join with it. Who is interested in my attitude when I am talking about a law? I can write that I don’t like the law of gravity because it pulls me down and doesn’t let me fly. But this doesn’t change anything about the law itself. It remains the same law.

This is the type of explanation that we must give, facts that cannot be refuted, and after that everyone has to decide what to do. “There is no coercion in spirituality.” He must understand that there is no escape, and we must work on the connection between us if we want to be saved from death and save our children so that they will not literally devour us.

Question: People who are connected don’t die?

Answer: No! Through the connection between them they build such a shield on themselves that protects them so much that their haters become friends.

Question: I would like to become the master of time and my life. You said that for this I must change the priorities and make the world around me more important than myself. But how can I do this and transfer my attention from myself to the outside?

Answer: To transfer the importance from myself to what is outside of me is called moving towards antimatter. And this is not the physical anti-world about which physics speaks, rather it is a much greater change.

Question: How is it possible that another person will become more important to me than myself?

Answer: This is called a reversal in senses, a reversal in desire. In you now is the desire to enjoy for your own sake. Whereas you have to feel that you want to give pleasure to someone else.

And this doesn’t mean that you are clothed within him like some kind of ghost, that you pass into his body and have pleasure there. This would still be egoistic fulfillment, like the pleasure of a mother who is wrapped up in her baby, is concerned only about him, and lives in his desires.

You remain in your body, but perceive the other person as more important than yourself. And this is not at all the same love that exists in our world. This person is a complete stranger to you and you don’t have any natural love regarding him, as you do for your children and your wife. Only a reversal like this transforms you into the master of your life for then you go beyond the limitations of time.

Time was born at the moment of the Big Bang. So you must go back beyond the limitations of the Big Bang, to rise above the point of the creation of matter. Then from that subjective feeling of time that exists within you now in your egoistic perception, which depends upon what is bad and what is good for you, you pass to the perception of time in another person and value what is bad or good for him.

And this is a fundamental change for you transform from being a receiver to one who bestows. And that is how you transform into a master of time and your life.

Question: Isn’t our entire work in concealment? And isn’t it from the state of concealment that we have to bless the Creator?

Answer: How can you bless Him in a state of concealment: to suffer pain and to bless Him? It is impossible to bless the Creator from a state of concealment if you are in an opposite state from Him.

If I have the same desires like Him, I am in a state of revelation. If I am in a state of concealment it means that my desires are opposite to Him. There are special states like working at night, but if you bless the Creator in the dark, you have to turn the darkness into Light.

If the Creator afflicts me and I say “thank you very much” and ask for more, it is like the son who is proud of his own powers and fights the enemy with a sword and a shield made of cardboard. This cannot be.

By my corrections I may reach a state in which instead of blows I feel mercy, then love. I can then bless to the same extent, as it says, “all my bones shall say.”

It is impossible otherwise. It is impossible to feel pain and to bless at the same time. If I feel bad, I curse the Creator. I cannot be neutral and open my mouth to bless since we speak about the work in the heart.

If my desires are corrected according to the Creator, I bless Him in them. First I have to restrict my desires and to annul myself. All the desires that I can turn into bestowal and correct by the Torah are the desires with which I can bless.

A blessing is a feeling in the desire that is in equivalence of form with the Creator, that feels how good and benevolent He is by bringing blows unto my desire to receive. I annul my connection with the desire to receive and ascend above it. Therefore my desire to receive suffers, yet I don’t enjoy the pain like a masochist but rather rise above the desire to receive to the desire to bestow.

I am then glad about the blows that my desire to receive feels in the absence of the Light, in total darkness. My “self” is adhered to bestowal, above my ego.

My desire to receive will never receive anything but I change what I identify with it. For example, a girl gets pregnant and has a baby. First she only worried about herself: What she can enjoy, her dresses, having fun, and all sorts of things. But now she only worries about the baby. Her whole heart is in him and all her attention is focused on him. She doesn’t care about what happens to her, as all her thoughts are about him and he is the most important thing to her.

If I exit myself this way it is called annulling myself. When I am inside the others, it means that my whole heart is in the Creator. This is my correction. Then it makes no difference what darkness I feel inside, as long as the others feel the Light inside.

Question: Won’t we demand revelation?

Answer: It depends on what revelation means to you. Revelation for me is worrying about others. It isn’t the same Light that fills my ego, my desires. I attain the Light that I receive in others since this is my beloved baby. To the extent that I am in others and worry about them I can demand the Light.

Then I can feel what they receive thanks to my exertion. This is called day for me. So in them I feel the Creator’s presence and thus approach the end of correction. These are not the same vessels I had before. I have established my attitude to people and to the Creator on top of them, but I don’t receive a filling in my old vessels.

When working on corrections we have to work in the opposite direction of the shattering and to understand that everything depends on our mutual incorporation. Therefore, the correction begins from having an inclination, a deficiency, a need, to unite for different reasons.

There is a purely pragmatic aspiration to unite in order to make a living from one another in the corporeal sense, and there is the commandment to connect in order to earn from one another spiritual advancement.

All the corrections are performed by mutual incorporation. So when we want to put the shattered vessel together again, we should make sure that a person feels that he is an inseparable part of the world. That is, he has to correct the whole world in order to correct himself.

This means that a person will not be able to correct himself unless he corrects his connection with the whole world, with all of humanity. Although it may seem impossible, we depend on one another in the correction to the same extent that we depend on one another in the shattering.

To the extent that I depended on everyone during the shattering, as is being revealed now, I also depend on everyone during the correction. So even if I only perform minor personal corrections that I manage to carry out, I thus touch every person in the world. It is because we are in an integral system in which there are no detached parts, but where everything is connected and everyone influences one another.

Of course, everyone operates according to his level and according to his Reshimot (spiritual genes), according to the depth of their fall during the shattering and after the sin of the Tree of Knowledge. But still, if we pull a certain thin wire at the end of the system, the whole system rocks and moves, and is accordingly invoked either for better or for worse.

That’s why it is said: “He who saves one soul of Israel, it’s as if he saved the entire world.” It’s because he who is called Israel (according to his yearning for the revelation of the Creator, the force of bestowal and love in the desires) corrects his attitude to the system he encounters at least to the first level of Nefesh, and by that he certainly influences the whole system.

For this reason it is said in The Book of Zohar that when Israel corrects themselves, the Upper Light that comes into their vessels pours outside and fills the whole world. This means that we don’t have to take care of the world, but it is enough to take care of those who can wake up.  Although we can go out to the public and hasten their development.

Question: How can I be responsible for others if I don’t succeed in being responsible for myself?

Answer: Specifically because you place yourself in the service and use of others you become responsible for everyone. You don’t exist for yourself, only for the others. That is how the law of Arvut (mutual guarantee) works; others have no free choice. I am the one who determines their situation and fate since I take responsibility myself and am ready to stand in their place.

Everything that happens depends only on me. Whatever may be, for better or for worse, everything depends only on me. I connect them to myself as my lower Partzuf and provide for them.

Isn’t this insolence for me to think like this? No, this is not insolence. If we are all equal, then each one of us has a personal connection with the Creator and that is not through others. All the others follow me.

This is because there is a “point in the heart” within me, my place in the source which nobody else has. And there is a special place like this for everyone. So everyone can say that from his point of view he is the only responsible, independent one in the root of his soul, and nobody else.

Everyone has his unique personal characteristic and everything else comes from mutual integration with others. But through this unique personal characteristic, I am directly connected by a thread with the Creator and in this I am ahead of everyone. If it were not for me, they would not be complete. Only I can correct this characteristic by connecting it with the rest of humanity, meaning with all the rest of the characteristics of Malchut of the world of Infinity.

Suppose that there are seven billion parts in Malchut of the world of Infinity and each part is connected with the Creator through its specific characteristic. And all the rest of the characteristics in me are derived from mutual integration with the other seven billion.

Question: How can I ask the Light that Reforms for the public if I know that this brings me pain and bad feelings?

Answer: It is written: “He who shares the suffering of the public is rewarding with seeing the comfort of the public.” Therefore it is good that a person suffers for the public. But what is the suffering about? Only one thing can make me suffer: That I still haven’t realized the program of creation that the Creator designed for me.

In fact, everything is revealed only relative to me. I am privately viewing a film of life, of reality, of humanity. And everything that is revealed before me as humanity, the  universe, and the entire creation is revealed in my vessels of perception. I have to organize them, and hence the entire correction depends of me; the end of correction (Gmar Tikkun) depends on me.

I don’t need to wait for what will happen tomorrow or in another moment. Other than myself, everything else is only parts of creation where the Creator reveals all kinds of states. I have to feel them, to process them correctly, and to direct them towards adhesion so that though this I will change my attitude towards Him. Only that!

There is no reason to wait for tomorrow and there is no reason to think that this will change in any direction. Everything is prepared and placed before me as before the only part of creation that has free choice. All the rest was created for me to use and to help me, and I was created to serve my Maker.
