Question: How can a teacher feel the audience in order to understand that it has moved to a qualitatively new level so he can present difficult, serious material?

Answer: I just feel the people around me. Moreover, not only those who are sitting in the audience, but also those who are listening to me in different parts of the world.

As they say in espionage: “The enemy is listening.” How do you know he is listening? There are devices that determine that he is on your line, that he absorbs your energy.

I feel the same. It guides me when I switch from laughter to an argument, to something more serious, and then again to humor. I am in such a state as if I float in the water, and the waters fluctuations, i.e., the masses who are listening to me, move me from side to side.

This is the teacher’s essence when he feels the audience, starts to work in unison with it, and together they reach such a motion, like in the tango.

Question: Did the followers of Abraham succeed in building a society of justice?

Answer: In principle, they were not attracted to creating a “beautiful,” “socialist” community. They were attracted to the fact that in connection with each other, they attained the next, deeper level of nature.

Abraham told them that the crisis was intended so that they would rise to the next degree in order to reveal the inner force of nature, its meaning, its purpose and development.

In fact, he was standing just one step above them, and they too aspired to ascend there, albeit unconsciously. They did not understand how to do that, how to enter the deeper level of nature, but they had already approached the foot, the threshold, of that degree and thus could hear Abraham. And by opening the door, he told them: “This state of crisis will lead us there. That is why it is needed!”

So, they all became like one family. Isaac succeeded Abraham, Jacob succeeded Isaac. In other words, the family passed the stages of development, called “Abraham,” “Isaac,” “Jacob, “Joseph.” It was he who brought them into Egypt, having gathered all the previous, preliminary degrees and summarized their full potential—and egoism—and striving for spirituality above it. Thus, they went down to Egypt, that is, in sensing the revelation of egoism.

Question: But did they live in unity until then? Didn’t the brothers sell Joseph into slavery? Didn’t he himself foretell that they would worship him? So, there was discord, hatred, between the brothers.

Answer: Of course, and very strongly. It is because they tried to love others like themselves. If you do not aspire to that, you do not reveal the levels of egoism. When everything is smooth, you can manage well. But suddenly some cause, some obstacle, appears, and you have to strive for unity in spite of all the problems.

They arise specifically for you to rise above them, constantly striving towards greater love, greater connection, greater unity. Unity can only grow above a feeling of division.

So, the followers of Abraham gathered more and more tightly in the struggle against their egoism until Joseph brought them to Egypt.

I think that learning the art of good connection with others according to the method of Kabbalah should be a government program, covering all the sectors of society, from the very young to the elderly.

Question: But what about people who are strongly opposed to Kabbalah?

Answer: They just do not know what Kabbalah is. This name scares people, but it is not about mysticism, it is only about connection between people. A person is under the force of stereotypes, but it’s time to clear the wisdom of Kabbalah from them. We simply have no other choice. Unity can only be achieved with its help, and if we do not unite, not only we will not be successful, but, in general, we will have no right to exist.

When the Jews from around the world ask me in letters where they should move to escape from local anti-Semitism, I cannot tell them to move to Israel. How can we ensure safety here if the nation is divided?

If we unite and really become one whole, then it will be the safest place on earth. And it all depends on us. This is the difference between any other point on the globe and Israel where we ourselves define our security through our unity. If we unite here, we will achieve complete security. The strength of unity determines the degree of our security.

Question: How can we measure the strength of unity?

Answer: The strength of unity is measured by how much people are willing to sacrifice their egoism for the sake of others, to neglect their own comfort and well-being as during the war, and by how much they are friendly to each other. Only the strength of our unity will give us security.

Question: For the people of Israel, the discovery of the wisdom of Kabbalah is connected to their responsibility to the world. Will they want this?

Answer: The Creator leads a person to a group and to this type of decision through suffering. The suffering is caused by the fact that either you are searching to discover something by yourself or you are pushed and prodded from behind through all kinds of troubles and problems so that you at least will flee from them in the opposite direction if you cannot solve them.

So we turn to people who are in distress, in considerable trouble. In the past, the Jews already received enough examples of what can happen with them. It is only necessary to open their eyes a bit, without frightening them, but explaining, with the help of facts, where the hatred of the world comes from and what we are obliged and need to give to it. The entire “infrastructure” required for this work is already prepared, and the work itself is incumbent upon us.

We only need to build our message without wasting time and go out with it to people as quickly as possible. Our future depends upon this.

We will not be able to understand the modern global processes if we don’t first understand the state that became the basis, the real reason and the prototype about 4,000 years ago.

Two perceptions of our evolution were formed back in ancient Babylon during a similar crisis of humanity. The king of Babylon Nimrod led the majority along the path of natural evolution while the wise Babylonian priest Abraham called people to ascend to a new qualitative level.

Question: Abraham was a major ideologist and philosopher and a very respectable man, why did he need to start a revolution?

Answer: He looked for a way out and found it in the state that was created in the nation. The circumstances forced them to unite, but people couldn’t live together anymore. On the contrary, the ego grew in them so much that they began to find fault with each other and to hate one another.

Nimrod’s solution was simple and corporeal: “We should simply disperse and live separately, under my leadership, of course.” This is how the residents of a communal apartment disperse in order to stop bickering.

But Abraham had another idea: “We mustn’t disperse because the law of nature is a law, we cannot escape it. The earth will become crowded in the future anyway. We don’t need to invent anything. Nature, evolution requires that we unite. We have to unite above the ego.”

Few, of course, listened to Abraham, several tens of thousands out of three million people. After all, it’s a tough decision and it is much easier to disperse. One way or another, Abraham’s disciples followed him, came out of Egypt and carried the idea of love thy neighbor as thyself, by fulfilling it amongst themselves.

They felt despair at first; they couldn’t live with egoism any longer and wanted to do something with it, get rid of it. This is the reason that they found the goal that Abraham set for them attractive and not the idea of simply living a normal life, not to simply stop cursing and quarreling with one another, but to ascend to something new. It is the ascent to the next level that attracted them because it didn’t require annulment of the ego, but rather using it for the ascent.

Question: What strange people. They didn’t want to live in their own homes, in separate apartments, but preferred the spiritual ascent instead. It turns out that the basis of our nation is these depressed guys that followed Abraham?

Answer: Of course, the depression actually pushed them upwards. They understood the crisis in a totally different way, and they counted on it to help them find a meaning in life, in their existence.

The others examined the crisis practically: “Let’s solve it and carry on with our normal life.”

Eventually people divided very sharply into two groups and their ways were extremely different.

Question: What is required for the practical realization of the method of connection?

Answer: You need to study and  have practical connection exercises, workshops, and roundtables that lead to the unification of the people. We must feel that it is possible to discover the force between us that connects us.

The essence of the method is simple: You need to sit in circles and talk about connection, about the reasons for it, about the goal of the existence of our people, about who we are. The connection raises us above our present state. During a discussion like this, we suddenly discover that within our circle some kind of force, warmth, and shared feeling appears that connects us together.

We suddenly feel that we are close to each other and depend on each other, like in a family and even more. There is some kind of thread inside that connects me with you and you with me. And threads like these are stretched between everyone. The inner network that makes this connection gives us exceptional experiences and a sensation of a new life in which we are connected into a single whole.

This connection raises us to a unique elevated state. We want to remain in that, to protect this spirit that makes it possible for us to rise above this life. All this life acquires a new shape. The wisdom of Kabbalah explains to us how to attain this unity in order to feel, in our power of unification, the higher component that is ready to change everything in our world.

If we try to discover this force of unification between us, then we discover the higher force that is ready to heal all of the unpleasantness and the problems in our individual lives and in society, in the economy, in politics, and to put order in the whole world.

We begin to radiate this force of unification to the whole world and it will change its attitude towards us. This is because all the nations of the world have been specifically waiting for this from the Jewish people. As proof, it is possible to bring a multitude of statements: both those of the Jewish sages and those of the anti-Semites.

It follows that nothing more is needed besides unification. And the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is the wisdom of connection and unification, must help us with this. So it has been revealed in our day.

So come, let’s learn how to attain the unification of the whole society. And in practice this is summed up in work in circles and with the study of essential questions like these: “Who is a man?  What is connection? How do we advance? What is the goal of creation? What is the mission of the people of Israel in relation to the rest of the peoples? What is the reason for anti-Semitism? How does one heal the entire common collective ego and that which is in each one personally, how is all the evil in the world corrected?”

People will learn all of this in those circles; they will clarify together and discover the power of unification that will heal all of the evil. This must become the permanent work of the people of Israel, our international mission, until we reach complete connection.

Every day, even several times per day, as much as possible, a person must participate in a discussion like this in a circle. There are plenty of unemployed people who have free time, and it is possible to arrange discussions of this type in workplaces, in schools, and on television for those who remain at home.

A circle in which people discuss all of their relationships will become the form of existence of the corrected society: In kindergartens, at school, at work, among retirees. All of the people will learn how to carry out their obligations in relation to the rest of the people: to correct, to unite themselves into one people, and to show an example to all of humanity.

Then all of the people will immediately change their attitude towards Israel and towards the Jewish people and we will truly become a “Light to the nations,” a “kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” We will become teachers for the whole world.

Question: How can unity possibly defend us from external enemies? After all, we are surrounded by fanatical terrorist groups. Some of them suddenly appear on our horizon and their cruelty has overwhelmed the world. Their threat seems very convincing. How can the force of love that we are trying to create among us oppose it? Can love protect us from rockets or aggression?

Answer: It is natural that terrorists behave with such brutality. Any stable union is founded either on authentic love or on genuine hatred, one of the two.

Animosity that exists in terrorist groups in relation to their external foes connects them. That’s why they kindle hatred towards us. They also seek connection. However, there is an alternative way of attaining unity, through loving our friends.

Both groups are pursuing unity and aspiring to succeed with its help. Those who connect on the basis of hatred need an external enemy that they can continue abhorring and despising. They chose Israel and the Jews as the best object for their hostility because the entire world traditionally hates the Jews. Besides, the Jews are really guilty (at least the nations of the world subconsciously feel this way, even those who have never had any relations with the Jews).

Moreover, Israel took the territories that were previously occupied by Arabs who called themselves Palestinians. In other words, Arabs have a reason to hate us. Moreover, they have a common goal to spread Islam throughout the entire world that unites them. Nowadays, this idea attracts many young people since they are fascinated by strength and admire those who are armed.

People seek unity and commonality; they are trying to understand the goal of their lives. Today, Islam is the only religion that offers a concrete purpose of existence, which is so powerful that people are ready to commit suicide because they are persuaded that this act is the very best way to realize themselves and that they will receive an immediate reward right after they die.

These ideas attract young Europeans who are ready to join an Islamic army. They consider it “romantic”: “We are together! We have a goal! This guy is for us, he is our friend; the other guy is against us, he is our enemy!” People acquire something they can live for, they obtain a goal and become aware of the milestones on their path to achieve it. They think they now know how to live.

The rest of the world has nothing to offer to them. At some point, everybody was fascinated by the American dream. Everybody looked up to America and envisaged becoming like America. Today, this dream disappeared like a soap bubble. Similar things took place in Europe: What happened to the European unity? Where is the promised paradise? Where did the hope that a united Europe would be an example for the rest of the world go?

Question: Why can’t Europeans live in unity with their own native peoples?

Answer: A human being is a creature that constantly changes values. So, today we are not satisfied with what we considered to be great yesterday. The day before, we thought that things were good enough, but a day later we already think of them as insufficient or wrong. Tomorrow, something new will emerge on our horizons. Our egoistic desires and aspirations constantly change, increase, and expand.

Islam is attractive to many because it offers people concrete goals. It proclaims: “All Muslims must unite to have Islam conquer the entire world! If we bring knowledge about Allah who governs everything and everybody, if we spread the information about what exactly we must do to follow His will, the entire world will be ours, including the future world. Even if you die in a minute, you will immediately rise to heaven.”

Their ideology is rooted in both worlds: this material realm and the future dimension. Muslims call for unity in this world among everybody who shares their ideology. They point at their enemy very distinctly. Gradually, they will penetrate all nations without exception: China, India, and Russia… They are not in a hurry, nor do they feel any time restrictions: “If not we, then our children; if not them, then our grandchildren… Eventually, we’ll attain the goal. What’s important is that we advance to our goal and will impose Islamic ‘jurisdiction’ over the entire world. We must partake in this movement so that we merit being in the future worlds.”

They already sense their unity; they are confident that they follow a great, lofty, eternal goal. Therefore, this kind of enemy is impossible to conquer. There is nobody to talk or make peace with since our opponents have a powerful ideology. As a result of the last military operation in Gaza, more than two thousand Palestinians perished. There are numerous ruins on their territories, but they still celebrate this situation as if it were their victory. They don’t count their losses.

Muslims have an internal confidence that they are doing the right thing. They consider their struggle to be a sacred war. It’s impossible to fight this kind of enemy. Peace treaties with them are worth nothing. Of course, it is utterly clear to our government and everybody around.

The question is how can we sustain this threat as a people of Israel? We can pack our suitcases and leave (which they will gladly let us do and even will allow us time for that). However, if we have decided to stay in our land, we will have to find an alternative solution. This problem can be resolved! There is something that can make us stronger than them: our unity.

Through attaining unity, we will trigger the general power of nature, the upper force, which Israel possessed at the time of Abraham and during the first two thousand years of its history, meaning during the First and Second Temples. If we unite “as one man with one heart” by loving our neighbors, if we achieve a state where “all of Israel is friends,” and if we set an example to the entire world, then everybody will start treating us in a good way, including Arabs. As soon as we initiate our unity and reconnect with each other, the whole world will change their attitude to us adequately.

In any case, we have no other choice. We must unite since it is the only solution to the situation. We have a chance to check this doctrine here and now.

I am deeply sorry for those soldiers and civilians who lost their lives during the last ground operation. However, the current situation is different from prior battles because this time we have a chance to change the direction of the Israelis’ thoughts, and make the Israelis understand that stability and safety can be achieved only as a result of our connection.

We have a teaching that talks about these issues: the wisdom of Kabbalah. This science was hidden from us during the exile, but nowadays it reveals itself to us, and our duty is to make it known. This science explains how to attain the right connection that will then attract the upper force.

If the upper force is among us, we are covered by a “dome” that no enemy can break. Our foes will simply disappear. It depends only on our ability to implement the wisdom of Kabbalah for the sake of connection among us.

Kabbalah speaks about unity and love of Israel. It was Jewish heritage during the first two thousand years of our existence from the time we exited Babylon to the destruction of the Second Temple. During the next two thousand years of exile, Kabbalah was hidden from its people. However, nowadays it reveals itself again so that we can use it to recreate unity.

This explains why we have to disclose the wisdom of Kabbalah and demonstrate to others that it is not about “red threads.” It is a methodology of achieving unity that is meant to help us become “the people of Israel in the land of Israel.” It will teach us how to lead a stable and safe life. Then, the entire world will treat Israel as we deserve according to our roots: unity that is based on the authentic Torah, the teaching of the truth.

Question: Why is it so hard for us to hear that our nation is special and that it has a special mission?

Answer: Because it is obliging and people want to be lost among others and be like everyone else. He thinks to himself: “There are more than two hundred countries in the world, so why can’t Israel just be one of them? Why do we have to stand out? What is the benefit in that?” But we will not be able to hide from our mission.

Question: People say that this is the reason that Jews are not liked because they stand out and consider themselves special.

Answer: I don’t think that we want to stand out, but that’s how it turns out. The Jews take part in all important undertakings and are very successful in what they do. You cannot hide the fact that some thirteen million people have a decisive influence on the world and stand out in science and in every field you can think of.

What is thirteen million people compared to all of humanity, considering the fact that only half of them are adults? It is even less than the population of a large city, but see what an impact they have on all of humanity. Of course, humanity finds it hard to accept this phenomenon.

This is especially true since there is a spiritual root here that obliges the world to see the Jews as strangers. Every nation intuitively feels something against us, but even among the Jews themselves there is a negative attitude towards Israel, because, after all, we have come together as Abraham’s group from all the nations then living in Babylon. In every Jew there is the root of the nation he comes from in addition to the spiritual root, called Israel, that he received.

While this spiritual root stood and operated actively, we were the Israeli nation. But after we fell from the height of this root, we became like all the other nations and even much worse. If Israel falls, it descends lower than all the other nations.

It is for this reason that the main roots of the nations of the world are being revealed in us now more than the spiritual root. Therefore, we want to learn from the nations of the world, to be like them and accept their criticism. It is a natural phenomenon that is typical of everyone more or less.

We only need to understand who we really are and why this is happening to us, what is concealed in us, what process we have been through and still have to go through, what our mission in this world is, and why all the nations accuse us, thus actually admitting that they depend on us.

If they claim that Israel is responsible for all the problems in the world, it is a sign that Israel is so strong, special, high, and powerful that it can affect the whole world for the worse. How can some 13 million people, which is the population of a small state, have such an impact on the whole world? How does that happen?

This is their way of telling us that we are the source, the pipe through which they receive either the good or bad energy. If we behave differently, we will become the source of goodness for the world.

The goodness is not in bringing the world new discoveries and Nobel prizes but in bringing the world Light and peace. This isn’t some technical invention but a force that reaches people and calms them, a force that connects them correctly and makes them into one whole. Then they will begin to live in peace and harmony by caring about one another. Everyone will be guaranteed a safe and peaceful life in this world.

Question: The latest military crisis in Israel undermined many of our firm convictions. We were confident in the strength of our army, but became convinced that we would be not able to use it to protect ourselves from the threat. Now, it is obvious that the agreements between the governments do not guarantee any security.

Answer: Modern warfare is of a different kind. There no longer the life we were used to. The old foundations, approaches, objectives, principles, and means do not work. This happens not only in Israel but around the world.

Just these questions are not so crucial around the world. But in Israel, which is located in such a hostile environment, it is a matter of life and death. Therefore, we must be sensitive to change.

The people of Israel must understand its purpose and why this is happening to us: what the purpose of our existence is, what the nations of the world require of us, why they blame us in all their misfortunes.

We must explain this to everyone, and first of all, to ourselves. Our nation does not understand what it is and what the mission of the people of Israel is, that it must serve as a model for unification of the whole world.

Only the Jewish people have the knowledge of how to unite. After all, this readiness is already incorporated within it. Every Jew has a special gene because once, in the time of the Temple, our people existed in spiritual unity. We already lived as one man with one heart, accepted this condition for realization.

Today, we must show an example of this unity to the entire humanity that needs it so badly. Only we can do this. I am glad that for the first time the nation felt that it really wants and needs this.

This deep impression was left in us as a result of the last war. I don’t think that it will disappear. It will be less, but it will remain in each Israeli, and it will be possible to awaken this need for connection.

If the nation is already seeking connection, then it needs to know on what it depends and how it can be achieved. No one really imagines such a relationship where we are constantly connected with each other and how we can come to them.

Indeed, it is not achievable. One has only to look at himself, his life, neighbors, and it immediately becomes clear that this is a complete utopia and it cannot take place. Even if you kill me, I am not able to connect with others.

It is beyond human capacity, and even more so among the Jews. We can be very close to each other when this is beneficial. But in real life, when it is not required, we are in no hurry to connect. Therefore, we need a method, a science of unity, which is called the wisdom of Kabbalah.

This science is hidden within us, within the Jewish people. We have already been merged with it in the days of the Temple; we lived as one man with one heart all the time after leaving Egypt and before the fall of the Second Temple.

Today, we need to return to this method. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed so that we realize it within the people of Israel and teach this method to the entire world and become “a light to the nations of the world.”

Question: During the recent missile attack and the military operation “Protective Edge” there was a general feeling of unity among the people in Israel. But how can we keep it? After all, when the military operation was over it began to fade away again. Even the prime minister said it would have been better if we had continued to live in such unity.

Answer: But the government cannot do anything here. Unity isn’t determined by an order from above. The government only determines laws, frameworks, and limits and cannot invoke compassion, love, warmth, unity or connection in the people.

It isn’t the government’s job. The government can provide the means, the resources, and the power, but it cannot engage in it. Caring about mutual guarantee is the obligation of the society, of the citizens.
