The Embrace Of The Creator

938.02The Creator pushes us away with a strong hand in order for us to connect even more. And then we will feel His strong hand as a strong embrace.

If we do not push each other away, then we see that the Creator does not push us away either. And if we embrace each other, we will feel that the Creator also embraces us.

It is as if sharp thorns on us do not let us hug each other. But we understand that these thorns belong to the Creator and not to a friend. And if in an effort to embrace my friends I feel sharp thorns and rejection, then these are my thorns, my hatred and not theirs, no matter how much it seems to me that the friends are to blame.

Therefore, we embrace in spite of everything with faith above reason: first through force and then willingly. And then all thorns do not just disappear, but turn into the glue of our indissoluble connection.

The Difference Between Idolatry And Worship

281.02Question: What is the difference between idolatry and worship? Respect?

Answer: The worship of someone or something always exists in our world and determines the difference between the degrees we place people on. We define gradations as better, worse, more beautiful, stronger, and so on.

Idolatry is a completely different attitude to various phenomena of nature when I attribute some special qualities to them.

Moreover, I endow them with my own or contrived qualities because it’s better and more convenient for me. In this way I build myself a more connected picture of the world around me.

A Border Without Border Guards

527.03To enter the spiritual world, only one desire is needed: to connect with everyone who wants to get out of the feeling of this egoistic world into the feeling of the spiritual world in order to see the entire universe from edge to edge, to understand this reality, and to be able to work with it.

The border between the material and the spiritual world is within us. It is a psychological barrier, not a wall or a closed gate. At this border, they do not check your passport and ask for how long you have come to stay. If a person can approach the border to the spiritual world, then to the extent of the equivalence of one’s qualities to it, the border automatically opens, and he passes.

Everything depends only on the correction of our qualities. Therefore, we are working in a group on our qualities in order to get closer to each other. To the extent of our getting closer, we also get closer to the border with the spiritual world. And as soon as we manage to reach the first connection, we will cross the border.

How Can Mental Illness Be Cured?

631.1Question: Why are mental illnesses incurable?

Answer: Mental illnesses cannot be cured because they belong to a higher nervous activity. In order to cure something, it is necessary to rise above this problem, and as if from above it, study, investigate, analyze, and understand it.

And we cannot be above our mental activity. Therefore, these problems will remain until we rise to their level. They arise due to malfunctions in our egoistic nature.

As soon as we begin to really correct ourselves, to rise above the program according to which we are currently working within ourselves in feelings and mind, we will move from the egoistic nature to the nature of bestowal and love, and then we will change our entire internal program.

It will act completely differently, take into account other data and work differently. Then its consequences in our mental and physical bodies will be different, and we will be cured of all problems and diseases.

And today we are all sick. You can take any absolutely healthy person, ask a psychologist or a psychiatrist about his condition, and they will tell you that each of us is ten to twenty percent sick, but we consider this normal.

Beauty Contests

560Question: For 10 years, a beauty pageant “Miss Holocaust Survivor” has been held in Jerusalem.

Women aged up to 95 and even more tell their stories to the public, to the entire world, of how they lived, how they survived that time, and how they came to the point that they can now put makeup on and tell their tragic, difficult stories.

They say that it helps them a lot, they just blossom. There are such pageants as “Miss Elderly Woman” or “Miss Holocaust.” And people say: “Let’s hold beauty contests in a different way—contests of beauty of the soul.”

What do you think about such contests?

Answer: I think it is good. First, it is a very good therapeutic procedure.

And then, the inner qualities of a person are put forward to the first place, such as one’s philosophy and attitude to the world. You cannot compare this with anything else.

Question: A way of spreading warmth?

Answer: Yes, wisdom and good old age.

Question: Is the fact that a spectator learns that it is possible to get out of such crazy, terrible conditions with dignity also an important point for a person?

Answer: It is an important point. And a very important point is that there is huge respect, sympathy, and gratitude to those who lived through all this and survived and lifted themselves up, and now they can tell about themselves. This causes respect.

“What Is The Significance Of The Third Temple Of Jews?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What is the significance of the third temple of Jews?

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the Temple is a symbol of the corrected Kli (vessel/tool/receptacle), the human soul, which is a desire with an intention to bestow upon the Creator, and which has full contact with the upper force of love and bestowal.

The construction of the First Temple represented the unification of the twelve tribes. This structure was then destroyed and the Second Temple became a symbol of the unity of only two of the tribes.

The Third Temple is humanity’s full unification, which comes about when our every quality will be aimed in the direction of bestowal.

A Hero Is The One Who Defeats Himself

221Question: The German philosopher Herder argued against war as a legitimate course of action and criticized the age-old justifications for the use of military force and subjugation of one nation by another.

What should replace the glorification of military achievement, heroism?

Answer: Nothing. A hero is someone who can prevail over himself, over his egoism. The hero is the one who defeats himself. By this he is glorified.

Dynamics Of The World

527.03Question: Hegel wrote that war is the engine of historical progress. He believed that without wars there would be stillness and stagnation. Will eternal peace lead to stagnation in evolutionary development?

Answer: No way!

Real peace is an even more dynamic existence than war. During war you are searching how to escape, where to hide, what to do, but in real peace you are always in search and in ascent.

It is not stagnation, as philosophers say. After all, you are in constant search for means to preserve the peace, to develop yourself and others, to bring them closer, and to unite them.
