New Life 57 – The Power Of Good And Evil

New Life 57 – The Power Of Good And Evil
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

We cannot live through reception alone. We must also learn to give. If we work together to rise above our natural, egoistic desire to receive, we will create a new force, a power of influence. If we produce this good force between us, we will raise war to the level of forces, the threats will be neutralized, and a positive attitude will come toward us.

Get Close To The Upper World

laitman_259.02Question: If the desire to receive is our basis, then what is the quality of bestowal and how can it be separated from the desire to receive?

Answer: We have only one quality—to receive, to enjoy, to feel everything in yourself, in your egoism. We cannot even imagine what it means to feel not in our quality. How can this be? Where do I feel?

Therefore, a completely new quality, feeling, sensation, which is opposite to our nature, is being built over us, and it can be built only with the help of the upper light. We must do everything we can to attract the light, to somehow direct it toward ourselves, to get closer to it. That’s what we do.

If I try to directly experience the upper light myself, then I will fail. I would be dealing with mysticism, slander, conventions, maybe religious attributes. If I really want to start feeling the upper world, then this requires an upper force. I need to clearly address the Creator and demand from Him, and this is possible only if we turn to Him together.

I can study for many years Talmud Eser Sefirot or Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Pticha), but if I will not be directed through the group to the Creator, I will fail.

My Thoughts On Twitter 5/17/19

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

The Bnei Baruch World #Kabbalah #Convention begins today in #Monterrey (#Mexico). It will last three days, and will continue in #NewJersey (#USA). I believe that participants will come closer to the revelation of the true world in which we exist. All activities are available to all.

Baal HaSulam: I rejoice at the flaws that are revealed, and despair at those still concealed. For it is unknown when they will be revealed, and the help of the Creator is needed. They are revealed in their initial state, and one must rejoice at the revelation for it means that the time has come for its correction.

Advice: do not wait until you’re in decline, because you can raise Netzutzim to the correction yourself. Therefore, always search for how to further improve your state, provoke the darkness!

The way the breakage occurred as a result of baseless hatred, so the correction has to be the result of baseless love.

Restriction means not wanting more than there is, wanting to stay in this state forever, in which case it is an eternal adhesion. While desiring more is an overkill and a cause for sorrow. Progress is to achieve joy in a state of increasing lack of egoistic fulfillment in the mind and feelings!

Relationship Between Teacher And Student

laitman_528.04Question: The role of the teacher is very important in studying the wisdom of Kabbalah.
What is a Kabbalah teacher?

Answer: First of all, it is the one who has received knowledge from a recognized Kabbalist. Second, he teaches from original sources. Third, he does not attract attention to his personality. And fourth, he directs everyone to the revelation of the Creator.

Question: What is the interaction between the student and the teacher?

Answer: The interaction depends on the student, not on the teacher. The teacher can help the student in everything that can benefit him. However, he completely detaches himself from interfering with the inner world of the student, thus teaching him to become self-attaining.

On one hand, there is a constant concern for the development and care of the student. But the teacher always keeps a certain distance from the student in order to give him a feeling of freewill, freedom of action, freedom of decisions, and so on, because no one can be a substitute for student’s independent progress.

Question: What is the difference between a Kabbalah teacher and a teacher of other disciplines?

Answer: A Kabbalah teacher does not teach as much as he gives the student advice how, by changing himself, he can reveal what he needs to attain. What student comprehends is his, not the teacher’s attainment.

He goes along a certain path, constantly developing his inner properties, his soul, and achieves even greater revelation of the Creator. This is purely his personal achievement. Therefore, the teacher here is just an external, helping source.

Torah And Vowels

Laitman_507.05Question: Vowels are used in Hebrew: nekudot—dots above the letters that indicate the correct pronunciation of the vowels. There is an account that they were developed by a family from Tiberias after the destruction of the Temple in order to preserve the sound of the Torah. But we study that the vowel vocalizations are the lights that are above the letter, i.e., above the Kli (vessel) or under the Kli.

Were the nekudot invented by the Tiberias family to record the Torah? After all, the Torah itself was written without nekudot.

Answer: It does not matter. In the Torah, there are really not very many signs necessary for its reading. After all, when you read the Torah, you must reproduce it with all your external and internal instruments.

That is, I must know how I sing the text, how I give intonation to each sentence, where I can pause, and where it is forbidden. After all, a person cannot read the text in one breath.

Moreover, the reading of the Torah is different from usual reading when you take air into the lungs, read something out loud, and release the air. When reading the Torah, I must properly manage my lungs like an organ in a cathedral. I press on certain parts of my lungs, which consist of five parts. After that, I turn on the five parts of the reproduction apparatus: the larynx, throat, mouth, lips, and teeth.

Therefore, Hebrew letters are a shortened form of the huge, powerful data that a person received in order to read.

Is It Possible To Accurately Predict The Future?

laitman_222Question: To what extent does perception and comprehension of spiritual timeless roots allow us to see the future within the framework of the material world?

Answer: I cannot say that there is an exact correspondence between the spiritual and the material and that one could foresee the future. The future depends on many parameters that are beyond your desire; in particular, from many specific people and factors.

Therefore, it is impossible to accurately predict the future. You can tell which way it flows, but what state it will take at each moment in time, you do not know.
