In the News (from The Republican): “Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin took the extraordinary step of devoting his entire State of the State message earlier this month to highlight what he described as a “full-blown heroin crisis” in his state. …
“Timothy W. Purington, director of prevention services for Tapestry Health in Northampton, applauded Shumlin’s heroin message. The crisis, he said, is not just in Vermont; it’s throughout New England. …
“Some of the numbers that Shumlin offered in his message from Montpelier are especially grim. Since 2000, Vermont has seen a 770 percent increase in treatment for all opiates; last year the state’s number of deaths from overdoses nearly doubled from the previous year. …
“Shumlin said the heroin crisis got its start in Vermont as an OxyContin and prescription drug-addiction problem.
“Delaney said it’s much the same in Western Massachusetts and that those who get hooked on OxyContin or oxycodone down here often move on to heroin because it’s cheaper.
“‘It’s a lot cheaper buying a bag of heroin than it is to buy an 80 mg “oxy” for 50 to 80 bucks,’ he said.
“The appeal for heroin has increased because of the OxyContin problem. People are resorting to heroin because they are addicted to this drug.”
My Comment: The elite is interested in sedating the masses, both physically and psychologically. Drugs are designed to lull the masses, to trigger their dependence, and thus, the opportunity to set the conditions for distribution of drugs. It is a new form of slavery.
So, when a person in whom the point in the heart has awakened reaches a group and begins to work in it, he discovers that he cannot accept this kind of work at all. Then, the right desire is evoked in him which means the desire that demands correction.
The simple desire to enjoy in this world is not called an ego since it is defined by our corporeal nature. However, when a person feels to what extent he cannot accept the connection, it is actually a revelation of the ego that he must correct and turn into a connection with others. After all, it is by the right connection with the friends that a person reaches the right connection with the Creator.
When he begins to connect to others, he suddenly feels an inner resistance. The ego is evoked along with different accounts and he feels repulsion and even resentment with regard to the connection. Yet, he doesn’t understand why this happens suddenly.
He doesn’t accept this and wants to be like the others. Sometimes, he forgets and simply concedes to the domination of the negative feelings and the repulsion that he feels, and hates the others so much that he can escape and leave the study, and then come back to it.
The rejection of the connection is an expression of the egoistic desire that grows in a person and is called mother, the upper level. A person must connect with the friends above this resistance and spur the others by emphasizing the greatness of the Creator, the teacher, the study, the group, and dissemination. These are the means that can help a person hold on to the spiritual work.
If he doesn’t want to be worse than the others, he discovers that he cannot do it, and so, after a long struggle, he admits that he cannot change without the help of the Creator. He reaches this conclusion as a result of the efforts he has made. Every detail requires great efforts and so it says that a person must do whatever is in his power.
Then, a person realizes that the repulsion that he feels after all the great efforts to connect with others is an expression of his evil inclination and that he must turn to the Creator in order to correct it. The entire game is arranged so that he will need the Creator’s help.
Then, he looks for the opportunity to ask the Creator for help and finds out that there is no connection between them, that he keeps forgetting about it, and, in fact, doesn’t need it at all. He doesn’t have a strong enough desire for this request to erupt in him yet. He must bestow upon his environment so that it will evoke the need to turn to the Creator.
Thus, he gradually creates a form within a form and establishes the right attitude toward the group, the study, the teacher, and the Creator so that all these components will support one another, and the Surrounding Light already creates in him the right appeal that can spur the Creator and force Him to give a person his first spiritual form.
This form is called a spiritual embryo or the son with regard to the mother. A person begins to feel that he has undergone a change and that his desire to receive has turned into a desire to bestow, a spiritual desire.
What is the essence of this change? The desire to enjoy remains the same desire, but the intention changes from an intention of in order to receive to an intention of in order to bestow. Suddenly, something happens in a person, and he has no worries but caring about the Creator. The Creator becomes more important to him than anything else, and he begins to think only about His sake.
This is a person’s goal in this life, what he must attain during his short stay in this world. This world is created so that with the help of every individual in it, the connection of a person with the Creator will be renewed and completed. By collecting all the connections, the points and the means to contact the Creator, a person raises his spiritual embryo until he is mature enough and is born in the spiritual world.
After the birth, he continues to collect the contacts that he attains with the Creator, which accumulate to seconds, hours, days, weeks, months, and years of his spiritual life. Thus, he grows from a boy to a youth to an adult until he completes the creation of his whole spiritual Partzuf. A person must manage to complete this work during his lifetime in this world. This means that he constantly establishes his form and the form of the Creator as his mother so that the Creator’s form will be imprinted in him
In fact, there is only one form: the form of the Creator and the form of a person adhered to one another. There is no individual form for each of them. It appears only as a result of the connection between them.
From the Preparation to the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 2/18/14
Question: During the workshop, how does one remember the need for inner work? I feel like I am a computer with two processors and one of them forgets about the goal, the work, all the time. The other reminds me about this all the time and remembers the entire process which I have gone through.
Answer: We cannot constantly remember the goal, the work, and we will disconnect from it all the time. This detachment is required to exist, but we don’t have to agree to it. And then it will be useful for our correction, as it is said: “Everything is found outside.” In other words, you don’t agree to be detached.
We are detached so that we will connect again on the next level. Also, I cannot hold myself on such a high level at all, except only by means of the environment.
Any electrical circuit works according to this principle; every item transmits its energy outward and takes new energy into itself, then again transmits outward, and receives inside again. It is like a coil and cable which constantly exchange energy streaming in circuits between them; that’s how they work reciprocally.
I cannot hold myself in a good state; I require mutual work with the group. That is how we alternate in our work. Moreover, each one of the friends passes through his own states. And then within this system, the Creator arranges the rate at which the states alternate in each one of us and in everyone together.
We must feel that we don’t exist in isolation; rather, we belong to one system with two processors, which work alternately, sometimes this and sometimes that. What we need is to pool our energy together so that you can charge yourself and be nourished with the energy from our mutual work. In a group, all the states that you have gone through disappear, all the previous levels, all of your history. All of this happens only within the group, within the collective Kli, until within it we reach the form of Infinity. Only then, in an action called the end of correction, will we discover everything that we went through.
All of this is found within the group. The first spiritual state begins in relation to the group, in my ability or lack of ability to be connected with it. That is how my first and smallest discovery of the evil inclination takes place, and so on to the last evil inclination, the great ego at the peak of the ladder of levels. Therefore, all of the results of the work are swallowed up by the group. The group is Malchut of Infinity.
Spiritual advancement is measured solely and only in contrast to the evil inclination that constantly increases: at whatever rate and with whatever power it increases, from this the rejection of connection grows in us. The rejection and the darkness become greater and greater, stronger and stronger, but we interpret, understand, feel them, and receive a push to work with them in order to connect with the group in the face of this darkness. We are interested in this rejection; otherwise, we will not accept our “signs of work.” Our advancement is measured with this.
Meanwhile, we judge only according to our feelings without objective measurement, but after this, we will measure our own states.
From 1st part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 2/18/14, Workshop
The drawing force and the delaying force must operate on the spiritual embryo together. With regard to the drawing force, I must check to what extent I can keep in contact with everyone and in what way. I must add the delaying force to any form that is against my ego, against my will, so as not to let it fall, to be aborted, or to let an accident in birth to occur. Unfortunately, this happens often to everyone and it leaves little hope that we will ever grow.
We must support one another by the drawing force and especially by the delaying force; as it is said, “Every man shall help his friend,” to keep the friends focused on the greatness of the goal, the greatness of the attribute of bestowal which we attain above reason. Even if this form is unpleasant for our egoistic nature, if I value the greatness of the goal, the greatness of the Creator, and I suffer in my desire to receive, I enjoy my closeness to the Creator more. If I see that the Creator is great, I can value His benefit over my own benefit. Thus, I gradually attribute myself to Him, to the upper force, until I begin to identify the movements and the actions that I do with Him, according to Him, and begin to feel the upper more and more during these months of pregnancy as I develop as an embryo.
During the first forty days of the creation of the embryo up to the level of Bina, we don’t really feel it. However, later, when the level of Bina begins to operate, the embryo already takes on a human form and studies the upper from its vessels and feelings.
The strongest and closest connection between the upper and the lower is actually during conception. Then, a person is inside the Creator, and later it is as if he draws further away. Although it seems that way externally, in fact, it is a deeper penetration into the upper, until he reaches full adhesion.
We should understand that we can be an embryo only if we are inside the upper. Imagine what it means when all our senses, all our desires, all our thoughts, everything, is dissolved in Him. We must examine the delaying force and the drawing force with regard to this feeling of totally dissolving in the Creator. First, there is the drawing force, which means to what extent I can penetrate deeper into the Creator and adhere to Him with all my senses.
Although these feelings are unpleasant, since I must adhere to bestowal, which means to something that is external to the interests of my ego, the delaying force guards me. This is the prayer I should be in all the time, in a request for correction, for the Light that Reforms.
From the Preparation for the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 2/14/14
Answer: Now we are more united, we have begun to understand each other better, and we have begun to feel the friends who are in various parts of the world as one united group. We even get sick together, but all this is arranged from above and will bring us benefit. We will only become healthier.
Since we are now more connected with each other, our collective intensity has grown seven-fold, and therefore we understand the material much more deeply, even The Study of the Ten Sefirot, the spiritual mechanics. It will suddenly become closer to us.
We see how a child to whom we give a telephone or a computer, seemingly without knowing anything, plays with it and surprisingly to us, he begins to press the buttons correctly. How does he know what to press? It’s because he is already created for this level, and we cannot do this because we were created for the previous generation.
Therefore, when we connect together, we immediately leap to the next level, and all that Kabbalah speaks about becomes much closer and real for us.
Besides this, in accordance with that advancement that we have attained, I will give lessons on a higher level. Together with this, I will focus on my sensations and on groups that are advanced beyond the others by virtue of the efforts they invested.
Answer: A fool who eats himself up doesn’t advance. Rather, he simply sits and is sorry that his own ego is eating him up.
A sage who walks bent over and searches for his shortcomings, with whose help he can ascend further, works and rises further and further upward all the time. The difference is vast.
Question: What is the state of the unending internal workshop?
Answer: The state of the unending internal workshop is constant internal contact with the friends where I seemingly am found in connection with them, in controversy, in conversation, and this is the inner connection between us. This is what we must reach. We can do this; everything depends upon us.
In principle, we need to be connected a billion times more than the best moment in a convention, and we will attain this. It is just necessary to yearn for the goal all the time. This certainly doesn’t depend on any convention, not on distances, nor on anything else. We are trying to do this.
“Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” “The Donkey Driver,” Item 87: The donkey driver is the impregnation of the soul of a righteous that comes to assist those who walk on the path of the Creator, to exit his degree and arrive at a more important degree, like those donkey drivers who take people from place to place on their donkeys. At that time, the righteous, too, falls from his previous degree and comes to an impregnation of a new degree, like the soul that comes to assist him. Impregnation means departure of the Mochin.
You should know that this applies to any new degree, since as long as one needs to receive a new degree, he must arrive at the departure of the previous Mochin. And as he previously never had any degree to begin the acquiring of the soul anew, which is called Ibur, then Yenika, which is the Light of Ruach, she therefore said that because of that, “My son, go and drive the donkeys.” Because it is impossible to extend anything from the previous degree, you must start the Ibur anew, and this is called “donkey driving.”
We shouldn’t be scared that we start the work anew each time from the same place that we were seemingly before and repeat it over and over again. If a person is given a state of descent, it’s actually a sign of advancement! This means that he isn’t simply thrown into the corporeal life but is also given the feeling that he has descended. This means that he has completed the previous level and is now starting a new level that he lacks for the completion of his vessel.
From the 4th part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 2/16/14, Writings of Baal HaSulam
Aaron replied: “Let not my Lord’s anger grow hot! You know the people, that they are disposed toward evil. They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us, because this man Moses, who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ I said to them, ‘Who has gold?’ So they took it [the gold] off and gave it to me; I threw it into the fire and out came this calf.”
Question: Aaron blames the people because they demanded for him to give them a god. However he is a High Priest…
Answer: No, he was not a High Priest at that time nor was he their leader. He was an executor of their will.
Moses is the property of Bina. He leads people forward and shows them the way. Aaron is the one who brings it to the people. That’s why when Moses disappears, the property of Malchut takes over, thus making Aaron obey the people.
What does Aaron’s “collecting women’s jewelry” mean? A woman stands for Malchut and her “ornaments.”
In other words, previously the people of Israel were ready to fulfill the sacred work and “decorate” their egoism with bestowal. At this time, they are ready to give up this work and say goodbye to all “decorations” because they have lost connection with the Creator that is the foundation of their exertions for the sake of bestowal.
This explains why the people fell into egoism: They wanted to hold on to their egoism, like a child who grabs his favorite toy because only when he has it in his hands he feels confident. It is inherent in nature and concurs with nature’s plan.
