The Book Of Zohar—The Book For Our Generation

209Question: Do Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and his disciples who wrote The Book of Zohar have anything to do with what Moses wrote?

Answer: The book that Moses wrote is called Torah, from the word “Ohr (light)” and from the word “Oraa (guidance, instruction).”

This book was a manual for the contemporaries of Moses. They used it for 1,500 years prior to the destruction of the Second Temple and their complete disconnection from the sensation of the spiritual world.

When this happened, it was discovered that the book of Moses, although it is the highest and most powerful in its effect, is removed from us. We cannot give rise to our correction through it and collect the parts of our broken soul into one single picture.

This book is too closed off. It could not be the guide for souls who fell from the level they were at after leaving Egypt to souls at the level of the destruction of the Second Temple.

Now they needed a different direction, a different instruction. And then, The Book of Zohar was written. It is said that this Book was written not for the generation that fell from the spiritual to our level, but for the one which after the expulsion will go through all the metamorphoses, all the suffering.

This Book is for our generation when the global nature of the world, the integral nature of souls, the absolute egoism of man, and the absolute rejection from each other are revealed when people do not want to create families and give birth to children. When the rejection of this world, the absolute indifference to everything is revealed and they plunge into drugs and into such depression that it will be the greatest disease in the world. When we reach such a dead-end in our development.

Man always thought hat he would come to something good and he suddenly finds himself completely drained of blood: nothing is left for him, his hands drop, he does not know what to do with himself and with the world.

Then The Book of Zohar will be revealed. It is suitable for those very souls. Not the Torah and not all the other books but The Book of Zohar in its power will be ready for those souls who, 2,000 years after its writing, will descend into our world, and it will become an instruction for them.

The Right To Act In The Upper World

541Question: How to achieve inclusion in the upper world?

Answer: Only through the correct knowledge of the entire general system and nothing else. You will never be able to enter the upper world if you do not know it.

In our world, when you are born, your parents serve you and make you, literally from scratch, a little person and a human.

In the spiritual world, you must do all this with the help of upper forces, which are also called “father” and “mother.” But at the same time, you must make your own efforts, that is, raise yourself with the help of the forces that are given to you.

Only to the extent that you can do the right thing and never make mistakes are you given the right to see, feel, and act in the upper world. There are no errors.

Question: How can you reach such a level before entering the upper world that you do not make mistakes?

Answer: Only by reading The Book of Zohar. Nothing else.

Read, but with our comments where you are told how to set yourself up to cause maximum contact with the spiritual system, to get closer to it.

In principle, gradually bringing yourself closer to it, not yet feeling it clearly, you already feel how it changes you. You begin to feel the forces that operate behind the picture of our world and control it, as you see this whole world like on a computer or TV screen.

Usually, we see a picture on them, but in fact, they are forces, vectors that comprise this picture. It is the same here: you move from the external picture to the vectors, and you begin to understand their state, their connections with each other, how you can manage them, and eventually get the right picture.

If you want to fix our world, you must reach the layer where the forces that define it are located. The science of Kabbalah makes this possible.

Why Do We Need The Book Of Zohar?

527.06Question: Why was The Book of Zohar needed? After all, there is the Torah, the first part of which is written by Moses. It is considered fundamental.

Answer: What is in the Torah? We do not understand anything about it. And if you open The Zohar, it says that it is a Kabbalistic commentary on the Torah.

What does a Kabbalistic commentary mean? Moses wrote a really fundamental book, but it is encrypted. There is a single but very deep code in it. It is written in the so-called language of branches.

Kabbalah explains what it is and helps us understand what exactly is implied in the book of Moses. After all, the Torah is perceived by everyone as a purely artistic creation that tells about the history of some ancient tribe. It is written in a narrative language.

And Kabbalah teaches us to see the upper roots through this—the forces that cause corresponding actions in our world, to rise to the level of these forces, to understand the system that governs our world, and to be included in this system so that we can actively manage our world through it and correct ourselves and the whole world.

Know The Secret Of The Soul

250The New Zohar, “Song of Songs,” Item 483: To know and to observe the secret of the soul. What is the soul within him? Where does it come from and why does it come into this body, which is a foul drop that is here today and in the grave tomorrow? To know the world one is in, and for what the world will be corrected, to gaze upon the sublime secrets of the Upper World, and to know one’s Master. And one observes all that from within the secrets of the Torah.

A person must know absolutely the entire universe from beginning to end in all its metamorphoses, consequences, causes, and currents of all actions. I must understand how this system works, and most importantly, what I can do.

If I can do nothing, what difference does it make to me whether I understand The Book of Zohar more or less, whether I am at the mercy of fate and destiny. Yet, if I can change something, then how can I do that? This is very important.

Question: It is written “To know and to observe the secret of the soul. What is the soul within him? Where does it come from?” What does it mean “Where does it come from?”

Answer: If I understand how the system of the universe was created, then I will know why and for what reason, what the means is for my correction, my influence on it, and the correct inclusion into this system. In fact, I need to know everything.

Only complete knowledge of both the general and the particular, both the analysis and the synthesis of this within me, will lead me to correct, rational actions because I am included in the eternal system.

In our world, we will somehow survive for as many years as we are supposed to, and then we will depart. And this is the entrance to the eternal system. Moreover, you become included in enormous forces, in the influence on yourself and on others.

Only to the extent that you understand the spiritual system, only to the extent the inclination toward the right actions exist in you and you do not make mistakes, you gain access to this system and can do something in it.

Collecting The Pieces Of The Common Soul

117Question: It is written in The Book of Zohar: “How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together, as well. ” This means being friends: that at the hour when they sit together, they do not separate from one another.

At first, they seem to be people at war with each other, wanting to kill each other, then again they return to brotherly love. The Creator says about them: “How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together, as well!” But, moreover, the Creator Himself is attentive to their speeches, and He has delight, and He rejoices for them.

How can it be that people who are ready to kill each other, nevertheless, come together and brotherly love arises between them?

Answer: This is really amazing, because we come from one single soul. This system was created as one common desire, one single organism. And then it was deliberately broken into small pieces.

This is similar to how a Lego mosaic is constructed: first, a picture is made, and then a special stamp cuts it into pieces so that children can learn to assemble a picture from its components.

Our common soul is created in a similar way. Since it is broken into the smallest pieces, we must find such a connection between each other, such juxtaposition that all our souls again gather into one big picture, into one single soul.

This one soul is called Adam, from the word “Adomeh—similar” to the Creator. To the extent that we get closer to each other to put together a big picture, we become Adam, human.

That is, the human in us is not our animal body and not our original natural animal inclinations, but it is the measure of our similarity to the Creator.

See A Beautiful Eternal World

712.03The Book of Zohar, “Song of Songs,” Item 483: To know and to observe the secret of the soul. What is the soul within him? Where does it come from and why does it come into this body, which is a foul drop that is here today and in the grave tomorrow?

Question: Why does the soul need to descend into such a fetid body whose place is ultimately in the grave?

Answer: The soul has nothing to do with our body. We simply exist in this little egoistic desire, like little animals. And the soul has nothing to do with it.

The soul descends into the putrid body means that it reaches the lowest egoistic state and is in it in order to correct it.

When I correct my egoism, not the flesh, not our animal body that remains the same, but my inner body, and gradually, with the help of the power received from The Book of Zohar, I turn it into bestowal and love for my neighbor, then absolutely amazing metamorphoses happen to me.

I begin to feel the whole universe because I do not limit myself, I do not separate myself from everything and I feel everything that is happening in the world.

I feel how capable I am to be outside my body, outside the limits of my “I.” I begin to feel my “I” as spread over the entire universe. This is a new feeling. It is unfamiliar to us. And when we begin to acquire it, a person feels free. He suddenly leaves his little cage in which he existed.

Kabbalists give a very interesting example of this. They compare a person to a worm who sits in a rotten radish and feels that his whole world is as bitter as this radish. And when he finally pokes his head out of it and sees the sun, the air, everything singing, everything in bloom, he says: “I thought the whole world was like the radish I was born in, and now I see a grand, beautiful, and wondrous world before me!”

So are we. When we poke our head out of our egoism, we see a huge, beautiful, eternal world.

Images And Sensations

595.06Comment: During a good performance in the theater, the script itself and the scenes become secondary, while something internal begins to be transmitted that is difficult to explain in words—the soul of the performance. It evokes some kind of inspiration, excitement of something greater beyond what you see. Art, in my opinion, exists only for the purpose of having a breakthrough moment, of drinking from some fountain.

My Response: Art shows us that it is possible to rise above the purely psychological, every-day considerations and enter a field that is connected not with what is happening on stage, but with a certain force that controls the movement of some phenomena that exist above us, beyond time and space.

We must begin to feel it within us. This is the theater that is inside of us. And instead of the big green crocodile that is mentioned in The Book of Zohar, I feel a quality called “crocodile.”

This is not a theatrical image that certain people evoke in me. Through allegorical images I begin to feel the spiritual forces that define them and are called a particular word.

For me, this crocodile no longer has an image of a green monster. It can be positive, pleasant, kind, intelligent, controlling, albeit necessary and targeted, etc…

It turns out that when you read The Book of Zohar, you absolutely do not connect words with their images in this world! Once you snap out of it, you start wondering about how others perceive this text or listen to it. And it seriously brings you to some other reality, I would say, to unreality.

The Book Of Zohar – A System Of Communication With The Upper World

963.1The Book of Zohar is a system. The ten Kabbalists who wrote it, through their merging with each other, closed the world of infinity with our world in such a way that when we start reading The Book of Zohar, we kind of push the buttons and actually start this system.

That is, we do not just read what is printed. The Book is arranged in such a way that what is printed on paper directly affects our souls, our inner part that is hidden from us.

When a person starts to read, one does not feel anything, but launches this system on oneself, integrates with it, and causes the influence of a higher force, which manifests in the person in their inner part, the soul, which begins to come out.

And then there is contact between the human soul and the upper light and a person begins to feel in this the upper world, the highest state. This is one’s exit into the eternal, perfect dimension. This is what we must achieve while being in this world, in this life, to rise to the next level of existence.

The Deepest Degree Of Knowledge

65Question: The Book of Zohar says that you need to peer into the secrets of your master in order to know yourself. What are these secrets?

Answer: Secrets are what is hidden from me. It will become clear tomorrow. The secrets of nature or the secrets of the Creator are one and the same: that which has not yet been revealed to me.

Question: And what does “peer” mean?

Answer: The most important human sense is his sight. The light of wisdom personifies a look, a vision. This is the deepest degree of knowledge.

Even in court witnesses are asked: “Have you seen?” And if they answer that they only heard, it does not count as evidence.

That is, we understand that vision is our brightest, maximum sensation of the environment.

Question: Does sight mean corporeal sight?

Answer: This also implies inner vision—the vision of wisdom. That is why The Book of Zohar says “to peer.”

“To Observe The Secret Of His Master”

214The Book of Zohar : The wisdom that one should know: to know and to observe the secret of his Master, to know himself, to know who he is, how he was created, where he comes from and where he is going, how the body is corrected, and how he will be judged by the King of All.

In order to understand himself, man must understand his master, the Creator, because we are created, as it is said allegorically, in His image and likeness. So, I need to understand this image, and then I will discern my likeness to Him.

How can I reveal the Creator so that I would know myself? To do this I must change, and then I will feel and see Him. It turns out that when I attain the Creator, I attain myself. It is a process of self-discovery.

When I create the image of the Creator inside me, my similarity to Him, I find myself corrected. And this is one single image. Therefore, “man” in Hebrew is called Adam, from the word Domeh—like the Creator.

That is, the part of me that will become like the Creator will be called man in me. And everything else in me that is not like the Creator is called an animal.

Question: What does it mean to “observe the secret of his Master”?

Answer: The secrets are the plans. Why did He create everything? How? Why did he create me with just five senses to perceive the universe and myself in this way? Why do I live for such a short time? What should I achieve in this life? Why was I created with such qualities, in such circumstances, in such a family, in such an era? I mean, I want to know everything.

When I master all this knowledge about creation, I will know everything that relates to me. And perhaps I will find in this the means to change my destiny, to be able to rise above my fate, to live a certain number of years on this earth, and then die. Maybe I can improve my life, and maybe I can even rise to a level where I will be above it, be eternal and perfect as the Creator.

Why not? If nature is eternal, if it exists in an ideal form excluding only us, then why cannot I be the same integral element of it with all the consequences?
