In the News (The New York Times): “New research is teasing out more of the profoundly miraculous process of language learning in babies. And it turns out that even more is going on prenatally than previously suspected.

“By looking at international adoptees — babies who were adopted soon after birth and who grow up hearing a different language than what they heard in the womb — researchers can see how what babies hear before and soon after birth affects how they perceive sounds, giving new meaning to the idea of a “birth language.”

“Experts have known for some time that newborns prefer to listen to voices speaking the language that they’ve been listening to in the womb, said Anne Cutler, a psycholinguist who is a professor at the Marcs Institute for Brain, Behavior and Development at Western Sydney University, in Australia.

“Newborns can recognize the voices they’ve been hearing for the last trimester in the womb, especially the sounds that come from their mothers, and prefer those voices to the voices of strangers. They also prefer other languages with similar rhythms, rather than languages with very different rhythms. …”

Question: What is your opinion as a Kabbalist about the connection between the brain and speech, what are words and letters, what is expression?

Answer: Speech is a very complicated mechanism that expresses thoughts and emotions that we learn and acquire throughout life, but this mechanism begins to develop even in the embryonic state of the person.

Before it is born, a fetus hears and understands the speech of its mother, so a baby begins to understand the speech of adults at a very early stage, even after a few weeks. The manner in which the parents speak with him is of great importance, as well as the behavior of the mother during pregnancy, because she is communicating internally with him and the fetus absorbs everything. All of these impressions influence his speech.

In fact, speech is a divine gift to humanity, with its help, he communicates with the Creator.

Just as a mother speaks with a fetus who is not yet born, or with a baby, so we must also imagine to ourselves that we are conversing with the Creator, and if we just want to, we can exchange words with the Creator; this language is called a sacred language.

With its help a small person (this could be someone who is adult in age, because from the perspective of his internal development he may still be small), is linked with the Creator and can communicate with Him. If it is not in words, then it is with a smile, gestures, inner drives, and so forth. In other words, a language is a code.

Furthermore, Hebrew is a special language that was created in a written and spoken form, with all its inner meanings, from the forces through which the Creator and the creature converse with each other. So there is nothing that can be substituted for Hebrew, it is the foundation of all languages.

Question: Does this mean that Hebrew actually lives in everyone?

Answer: Absolutely! This is because the letters are composed of two forces, vertical and horizontal.

As a result of this, the letters have square shapes because there is nothing besides the two forces, vertical and horizontal, from above to below, from below to above, or from right to left, and from left to right. These two directions include all the forces of nature within them, because the horizontal is characteristic of bestowal and vertical is characteristic of reception.

Question: And what is a point?

Answer: A point is both the beginning of a vertical line and a horizontal line, or their intersection. From this state comes the communication of a person with the Creator or even between people. It seems to people that they are communicating with each other directly, but they are communicating between them through the Creator.

Comment: You are asserting revolutionary declarations, like Hebrew exists within every person…

My Response: Hebrew is the foundation of the inner program of a person, like the foundation of any computer program is zero and one. It is the same thing here.

Comment: An additional declaration is that we are communicating through the Creator.

My Response: Solely and only! He connects us and nobody else! Otherwise, we would not be connected. All of us are absolute egoists, and as such we have no ability to have contact between us, the Creator fills the void and the space between us. What this means is that our language is the Creator.

Question: In our world, we raise children, work, study, and play. And what does the soul do?

Answer: All the actions in our world we experience only in our consciousness. Therefore, it is written that when we return to the upper world we understand that everything we went through in this world was like a dream.

Question: What we will do when we wake up?

Answer: To wake up means to obtain real consciousness. Then we will be engaged in the creation of the soul, which means uniting in order to attain the true universe, true world, true eternal, and perfect state in our unity, as in a single organism called Adam. In other words, we will begin to create a real state above our sleep.

Question: What is the real state? What do people do there?

Answer: Not people, but souls, meaning desires that are corrected for mutual bestowal to each other. These desires begin to feel the unified upper force, the Creator, that exists in them, because they become one single desire by rising above their egoistic inclinations “to grab everything for themselves” to the intention “to give everything to others” and thus to be mutually connected.

By being included in the Creator above the egoistic desires that tear us apart, we attain this upper force, its perfection, oneness, and eternity and become like it. This is the purpose of our development.

Our souls are engaged only in unification between each other at all spiritual degrees. Now we are starting to master this technique practically in the tens.

Therefore, I advise to everyone to join us and under no circumstance to miss practical classes on Kabbalah. This is the most important thing. Only for the sake of this it is worth living 21 hours a day, in order to spend three hours with us at our classes.

Question: How does a Kabbalist feel our world and the spiritual world through a template of ten Sefirot?

Answer: It depends on the level and the state of the Kabbalist. He feels our world inside himself according to his level, partly through the revelation of the upper forces and partly through the revelation of corporeal forces.

Sometimes I feel that I am in a descent and actually perceive only this world, and sometimes I am in states in which I feel that there is an upper force field that manages everything. In between these two extreme states, I feel that I am in a higher or lower state of an ascent or descent accordingly.

Question: Should we try to avoid the feelings of the corporeal world? Are they harmful??

Answer: You don’t need to try to avoid anything. You should simply yearn to be incorporated in others. Thus you ascend in the feeling of your world.

There is nothing harmful and everything is actually beneficial. When you develop and advance along the spiritual path and discover the right vector, everything that is added to it is only meant to help you advance.

Question: From the point of view of the wisdom of Kabbalah, what dies and what is left after the death of the body?

Answer: Nothing dies and nothing remains. Everything happens only in our consciousness, within which we live. There is nothing that will actually disappear, be born, and develop.

Only desire exists, and when we talk about the world of the still, vegetative, and animate, about people in our world, these are all our inner desires that portray such a reality for us.

Question: You claim that according to Baal HaSulam, man descended from the ape. Could it be that Baal HaSulam was wrong? After all, it says in the Torah that the Creator created man in His image and His likeness.

Answer: It isn’t only Baal HaSulam who says that man descended from the ape. Many other Kabbalists write about that. When we speak about man, it should be clear what man we refer to. If we refer to a man who is flesh and blood in our world, we refer to the level of the animal, and in this case, we should agree with what the books say.

Three hundred years before Darwin, a great Kabbalist the Ari said that man is the next phase that descends from the monkey, which is the intermediate phase between the animate level of nature and man.

Our animate state is accurately attained by Kabbalists. Moreover, when the Ari wrote about it, it was not a new idea about creation and the development of man from the ape since it was already mentioned in The Book of Zohar, which was written in the second century.

Kabbalists saw this process by seeing the development of the upper forces, and they described it in just a few sentences, which were enough to understand everything. When we examine the system of creation, we divide it into five levels according to the five phases of the spreading of the Direct Light. Therefore, when we speak about a certain object, we have to talk about it on all levels of its development.

Man is called a soul without a body. Just like any other animal, the body undergoes its phases of development and dies, while the soul only accompanies it. The body helps the soul develop. This is its mission. As long as a person has not acquired his soul and has not begun to assemble it from the shattered parts, he exists in a body.

When a person begins to correct his soul, that is, his intentions from receiving for his own sake to bestowal unto others, he is no longer a monkey and not man in our world but a human being (Adam). The human level symbolizes man (Adam) that resembles the Creator, even it is only in one small part of the desire that emerges in him. The small part that is corrected is called Man (Adam). From this perspective, there are no human beings in our world; there are only apes that resemble man in their shape. If we speak about humans, we call them souls. Therefore, it depends on what we speak about and on which level.

Question: What did the Creator create: a biological body or our soul?

Answer: The Torah speaks about everything, but it basically speaks about the soul. Everything we see around us doesn’t actually exist, but is inside us in the form of different desires. The replicas of our desires are imprinted around us and are called “this world.” Objects in the form of the still, vegetative, animate, and human nature, which we see, represent impressions of our internal attributes.

We are in a matrix in which there are only forces that depict ourselves to us, and everything that we see inside us and outside ourselves, are like on a computer screen. When we see our internal desires, which are aimed for our own sake on the screen, they depict our world to us. When the internal desires and forces are aimed at the sake of others, they depict the upper world to us. This is how we are made.

Question: You say that we attain the world outside of us. But what is outside of us?

Answer: Outside of us means in the quality of bestowal.

We have to acquire the Creator’s property, which is precisely the quality of bestowal. We do not know what it is—we will understand that only when we attain it.

The spiritual world, the Creator’s property, the quality of bestowal, a way out of oneself, all of this is still closed to us.

Question: But on the other hand, every person has a point in the heart. So, there is a spiritual record, the Creator’s spark in the form of this point and consequently, some understanding of what bestowal is?

Answer: A point in the heart really exists. But this is just a point! What do we understand about it, what can we feel in it? This is a black point opposite to the spiritual state that has reached a minimum size, turning into a point after the shattering.

Question: Bedouins living in Israel can foresee an earthquake several days before it takes place. How can a person do that?

Answer: Bedouins do indeed have such premonitions because they are closer to nature.

Question: Are such predictions harmful?

Answer: They aren’t harmful. All our forefathers lived that way. A person would look at the sky and say: “it is raining 20 kilometers away.” He would know that by the motion of the birds. He could read nature, but that doesn’t means that he was a prophet.

Question: Why do the spiritual forces produce physical and not spiritual images within me?

Answer: Spiritual forces don’t produce anything in you, even though that is what we say. A person, a bee, a snake, like all other animals, all of them look at the world with their eyes and each of them sees it in his own way. A snake may perceive the world as fields of heat, a bee in the form of a honeycomb, and so on.

Why do people think that we see everything in the same way? It is only because we are educated together, filling our minds and memories with all kinds of pictures of this world, and we generally look at it as if produced identical images for us. But in fact, we cannot compare them.

Even a Kabbalist who begins to attain the upper world, perceives it with a personal characteristic and inclination, his individuality. Even though he compares his image with others, the images are impossible to compare, they can only be described. Therefore, we compare our descriptions and not the image itself that exists within us. This picture is completely personal for each one, and we have no possibility of comparing them with what is seen by others.

Question: What is reality? In what way does it differ from illusion?

Answer: Reality differs from illusion as it is perceived by our senses to the degree that we become similar to the upper force.

Let’s imagine the ego as a vessel in which we perceive different effects. If we correct a small part of our ego with regard to the upper impact, we will feel the upper world in that space. We will feel our world in the whole uncorrected part.

It turns out that a Kabbalist sees two worlds simultaneously. In his uncorrected desires, he sees the corporeal world, and in his corrected desires, he sees the upper world, and that’s the way it is until he fully corrects himself. In both cases, he always feels everything inside his desire.

In order to feel the upper world, we must first restrict our desire (Tzimtzum Aleph), then build a Masach (screen), the Returning Light (Ohr Hozer), and only then can we begin to receive.

Only then will we begin to feel the upper world within us because now an equivalence of attributes is formed between us and the upper world.
