Answers To Your Questions, Part 121

laitman_259_02Question: Nature has increased the world population to 7 billion so that every individual will be able to correct his individual part, because if everyone has a big ego, it is very hard to correct. But if the nation of Israel doesn’t unite, there may be a third and fourth world war, and then there will be very few people left that will still have to unite in order to correct the world. Will the few people that remain have to carry the burden of correcting the ego?

Answer: They will undergo terrible afflictions as a result of the war and these afflictions will help them avoid using their ego in a negative way.

Question: What does the wisdom of Kabbalah say about the ancient people who lived more that 6,000 years ago? Were they on the animate level?

Answer: They were people just like us but people who belonged to that time. People have been evolving on this planet for tens of thousands of years, but the first man who attained the upper the world lived only 5,777 years ago; his name was Adam.

We Are An Ancient Babylonian Family

laitman_577Question: Can a person who adheres to the principle, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” be considered a part of the people of Israel even if he doesn’t ethnically belong to these people?

Answer: In the Bnei Baruch International Academy of Kabbalah, nearly two million people of all different races and nationalities study, and all are representatives of ancient Babylon who are now beginning to gather under the concept of unity because otherwise humanity will not be able to survive.

It is precisely because we are bringing the principle of unity to the world that this ideology is considered as something unique that belongs only to the Jews, but in fact, it belongs to all of Babylon, to all of humanity.

So, when we openly disseminate it to the world, they receive it well, and people come to us without feeling that they are foreigners. On the contrary, they feel a kinship with us and certainly not in any way inferior.

The fact is that all of humanity comes from ancient Babylon when suddenly the opposition between the dominant king Nimrod and a Babylonian priest named Abraham emerged. Nimrod believed it was necessary to develop capitalism, that is,  to advance through egoism, and Abraham said humanity had reached a state in which it needed to unite above egoism, otherwise it would destroy itself.

The people who joined Abraham and whom he took out of Babylon became historically known as the Jewish people. Nimrod’s policy led to the dispersion and settlement of all of the rest of the Babylonians all over the globe.

Thus the egoistic principle softened since people were separated from each other and no longer in such close contact with each other. And so humanity distanced itself from the idea of unity for 3,500 years. Today, we are again gradually uniting again around the globe as we are discovering the interdependence between us and the egoistic opposition to each other—that is, we have come to the same Babylon.

And we can’t do anything. Here also an alternative appears before us: either we cruelly fight with each other (Kabbalists wrote about the possibility of two more world wars, including nuclear force), or we succeed in explaining to people that there is no other choice but connection and unity.

The still, vegetative, and animate parts of nature are in correct mutual interaction. Only our egoism forces opposition between them. Everything depends upon people. Therefore, we are compelled—either by the rod or consciously—to reach full mutual cooperation between us as one single body.

Internal And External Interpertations Of The Torah

laitman_219_01Question: Is there a connection between Israel, the Jewish people, Judaism, and the Torah?

Answer: Unfortunately these concepts are only slightly connected at the moment.

The Jewish people are the nation that was founded according to the laws of the wisdom of Kabbalah, the laws of close cooperation, mutual help, and a mutual struggle over egoism, to raise above egosim in the connection between us.

To do this there is a whole method that teaches us how to rise above our increasingly growing ego. When we reach this connection, the spiritual connection that appears between us enables us to be a nation.

Modern Judaism is divided into two parts:

  • Judaism that implements the external part of the Torah and focuses on observing the Mitzvot (commandments) in the corporeal earthly form as Orthodox Jews do.
  • Judaism that implements the internal part of the Torah and focuses on intentions: “What am I doing this for, what is my goal?” The focus here is not on the physical observation but on the internal observation of the Mitzvot that are aimed at ascending above our nature, and the ascent that follows to the next level of our existence, a level on which we exist before we are born and after we die.

These two parts of the Torah are opposites: the internal part of the Torah is called the wisdom of Kabbalah and the external part is called the keeping of the corporeal Mitzvot.

The wisdom of Kabbalah will gradually be revealed not only to the Jews but also to all the people in the world because everyone has to eventually reach complete mutual cooperation between them thanks to the wisdom of Kabbalah, since otherwise this world has no right to exist.

The year 5,776 according to the Hebrew calendar is now coming to an end. According to the Torah humanity has to reach the full mutual connection by the end of the year 6,000. There are 224 years left to reach the state in which we will be able to feel as organs in one healthy body, living in complete cooperation between us. Can you imagine that? Everyone connected to seven billion other people.

This is what we have to do. It is possible on the spiritual level. When you ascend a bit with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah, you begin to see a totally different dimension, the leadership system of our world in mutual cooperation. In fact you can choose your future.

What Does The World Expect Of Israel?

laitman_933If we examine the complaints the nations of the world have toward Israel more closely, we will notice that a kind of call stems from them, a cry of despair, that we Jews should finally fulfill our mission, our role. Henry Ford, Hitler, and all the other great anti-Semites understood and felt that they couldn’t do anything. They wrote: “There is a great force in you that was made for you, and we cannot do anything, and so we wait.”

Although they had an ugly role in human history, their role still has a higher purpose as an instrument in the hand of the Creator Who has no choice and thus pushes His beloved people to its right fulfillment, shaking it so that it will make a step forward.

Indeed, without these blows, we would not move. We can try to advance voluntarily, or the forces of nature will be tough to suit us.

Question: Why don’t we hear it? Why don’t we feel it, but believe others hate us because they are jealous that we are talented?

Answer: It is because we try to justify everything from a corporeal perspective. First of all, we don’t take into account the uniqueness of the upper force, the uniqueness of the leadership, and that there is none else besides Him. We attribute everything to many forces, or in other words, we pray to idols.

Our religion is based on the only Creator, the principle of “there is none else besides Him.”

Everything that happens in the world is from Him. But people cannot accept that because the ego doesn’t allow them. I do hope that we will grow wiser because it is only up to us. We cannot expect anything from the nations of the world. We Kabbalists are doing a great job now and I hope that we will remove this stone from the well and that fresh water will flow from it.

Upon Whom Do The Blows Of The Creator Land?

Laitman_095Question: Yesterday you said that help from the Creator comes in the form of troubles, blows to the ego, yet when they strike my “donkey” it doesn’t seem like help to me….

Answer: There is no greater help than this. After all, I am within the desire to receive, egoism, and what truly works on me are these blows, not a nice attitude.

Basically, the blows that the Creator gives me are a reward, and my work is always “to kiss the stick.” I build a new spiritual Kli by changing my attitude to the blows, identifying with them and leaving my suffering donkey. The donkey, let it suffer; I turn to the side of the rod and am eager to adhere to the hand that holds it.

With the help of the blows I separate and free myself from my egoism. When I have no where to escape them, I cannot help but wonder if it isn’t possible to evade the stick, then I no longer want to identify with the “flesh.” This is a natural reaction: if I feel unbearable suffering, first of all I ask the doctor for a pill to reduce the pain, meaning I want to pull away from the suffering of the body.

That is how the pain helps me to renounce egoism and connect to something that is used for helping me. And suddenly looking at my ego from the outside, I discover that I am suffering specifically because of it. So the pain helps me distance myself from the ego and get closer to the Creator.

So the blows are necessary. But upon whom are they falling? It is not on me, but my egoistic desire. This desire is not me. I want to identify, not with the “body,” not with the desire, but with intentions for bestowal, to the yearning for bestowal, that are above egoism. Now I understand the desire was given to me to so that over it I would adopt the attitude and involvement with bestowal.

Consequently I need the blows. They help me to make the right calculation.

It is said: “Spare the rod, spoil the child.” The entire history of the people of Israel since they left Babylon is the history of overcoming suffering. Even in the period of the Beit HaMikdash (Temple) there were numerous wars and problems that accompanied the inner work, the clarification of egoism and its correction. The Torah calls Israel a “stiff-necked people” (Exodus 33:3); after all, their desire was always increasing and this led to stronger confrontations.

What can we say about the last 2,000 years of exile when the people were pursued by troubles and faced brutality; it knew no bounds. How is it possible to compare this to a day of illness after a fever? All of these troubles came from the Creator, the good who does good (Psalms 119:68), and landed on the egoistic desire making to make it possible to detach from it and achieve bestowal.

So the problem is that we identify with the desire to receive. If, contrary to the program, despite the fact that it was imposed upon me, I have not yet renounced egoism and am still connected to it, I need to receive blows.

But in fact this is not so, and when I separate from egoism I will stop getting the stick on account of myself. When my time arrives to separate from the ego, to leave it, to that degree trouble befalls me. But the stick comes down specifically on the desire and not on me. If I am detached from the desire, then I don’t feel the blow; on the contrary, I feel good, more strength, health, and attainment.

This is the entire problem. That is what is called exile.

The Creator will increase the blows on the desire to receive methodically so that we will abandon it. Today all of humanity is entering into this process along with the people of Israel, but nevertheless, the people of Israel still have to repay their debts.

Escaping Europe

laitman_430In the News (The Star): Marseille Jews are being asked to go without the kippa ‘until better days’ amid a rise in anti-Semitic violence – a recommendation that’s being met with ire. …

“Religious Jews in Marseille are facing a wrenching choice: Whether to wear the skullcap that proclaims their religion or tuck it away in hopes of staying safe. …

“An attack this week was the last straw for the Marseille Jewish community’s religious leadership: A machete-wielding 15-year-old slashed a Jewish teacher in the street. Under police questioning, the boy invoked Islamic State.

“Zvi Ammar, head of the Israelite Consistory of Marseille, asked Jews to go without the kippa ‘until better days.’ Kippa is the Hebrew word for skullcap, while it is known as a yarmulke in Yiddish.

“Ammar called it the hardest decision he’d ever made. His words disturbed and divided French Jews and non-Jews alike, and evoked Nazi-era fears.

“And they were a slap to the French government, desperate to reassure its Jewish community — the world’s third largest — and a nation shaken by a violent year.

“The president called the recommendation intolerable. Two Jewish legislators wore kippas to French Parliament in protest.

“It means that we are projecting part of the responsibility on the victim,” France’s chief rabbi, Haim Korsia, told The Associated Press.”

Answer: About 70-80 years ago there were calls that Jews should remain Jews and continue to wear kippas along with all the other typical Jewish features, which led to the extermination of the people. After all, there were those who tried to convince the Jews not to flee from Eastern Europe before WWII and to remain Jewish. And 6 million were killed.

Who kept them there until the end and called them to stay? The leaders of the nation. If the leaders has risen and said “we have to leave immediately,” everyone could have been saved. After all, Hitler wanted to transfer the Jews to Palestine and they were allowed to come to the US at first, but they refused. Why? Because the religious leaders held them back.

I believe that all European Jews should first take off their kippas. The Torah says that if you are being threatened you have to do everything in your power to remove the threat. This is called protecting the soul.

Second, no one will protect them if they start killing Jews and it will not even be reported on the media.

Question: So what should they do?

Answer: Leave on time. If the past doesn’t teach them, there is nothing I can say. The Jews are called a stiff-necked people.

Question: Where should they go to?

Answer: The safest place for them is Israel, or at least another country where they can live in, like America for example.

Europe is no place for Jews anymore after WWII. People tolerated them for a while as a way of paying for their earlier sins, but the Jews have no future there.

How To Deal With Terrorism?

laitman_547_06Question: If we unite, will we be able to defeat terrorism?

Answer: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah we have to unite against our internal evil, our egoism. This evil is not in a person himself but between people. If we unite, both terrorism and all the other problems in the world will disappear.

Question: How long will it take for all the people in the world to start establishing friendly relations? Will they will keep shooting each another until then?

Answer: Nature has its own rules. We have to reach an integral society, reach the new level of our evolution and to discover the next world, which is higher than our world. Today we live on the level of animals, not on the human level. The word “human,” Adam in Hebrew, stems from the word “Domeh,” to resemble, general nature. We have to ascend above ourselves.

When we begin to sense the world in two opposite forces that are balanced between good and evil, then we will see a totally different picture above the one we see now, a perfect eternal world of forces and mutual actions. This is the world that we should discover now while living in our body, and this is what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us.

Question: So should we stop bombing ISIS and engage only in our own personal growth?

Answer: No, we should continue our struggle against ISIS and other terrorists. If you are attacked or threatened, you should precede your enemies and kill them first.

But through physical actions alone, we will not achieve anything. We have to establish good relations between us, the right mutual relations through which the good force that is concealed in nature will be revealed in the world. Then it will begin to balance the evil force and organizations like ISIS and everything that is in the form of evil in this world today will disappear.

In the meantime we simply restrain them by bombing and fighting against them, but they will not disappear unless the good force of nature affects them.

This is what is happening in Europe, and we are helpless. Terrorism will grab more and more parts of the world until it fills the whole world. This is how we will be forced to accept the method of correction.

ISIS Human Organ Trafficking

Laitman_198Comment: The “Islamic State” has declared that it is allowed trafficking in human organs. The worst thing is that the order allows harvesting organs from living people without considering that it could lead to death, claiming the life of a traitor should not be taken into account.

Answer: ISIS members are convinced that this action will raise man’s honor, from the level of a traitor to a person who acts for the sake of the just cause.

Comment: But that is utter lawlessness and they announce such outrageous statements openly.

Answer: This is the most important thing in their agitation and propaganda, the hard and horrible approach to life. Surprisingly this cruelty attracts people since it gives them a purpose in life and a goal that justifies their actions. For the sake of the goal, they are ready to kill others and even die themselves.

Since when a person connects himself to a higher goal, his ideology and goal stand out as most important, above our world, and he feels that he is in connection with the Creator! Subconsciously people feel strength in that which promises them permanent fulfillment.

Comment: But the degrading attitude of the ISIS to their surroundings shocks everyone.

Answer: To the contrary! It is precisely through these statements that they exhibit how little they spare themselves or others for the sake of the higher goal. The cruelty attracts people, the simplest person, and causes him to understand that this is a supreme goal.

According to several ancient Eastern sources, if a king did not execute 1,000 people a year, he was not considered to be the king. To be respected was to fear him, to feel his power. It was the same with the Russian nation that treated Stalin with respect because he ruled them with a strong hand.

Question: So how are we to relate to ISIS?

Answer: We need only to learn from them how an organization manages propaganda, propaganda that shows people how to reach connection with the Creator. Actually this connection is displayed through a war with the ego.

We need to unite people with the goal of raising them as one to a level higher than the one they exist on. In spite that this is against human nature and the ego objects to this, we will give the system of the wisdom of Kabbalah to humanity, and to the extent that we disseminate it, to that extent the new emerging “Islamic State” will begin to starve.

Drama On The World Stage

laitman_202_0Question: In general, it is considered that the greatest power is the nation, the second power is the communications media, and the third publicity. Is this what influences the world?

Answer: No. That’s the way it seems to you.

Everything that seems as if it exists to you: the communications media, government, publicity, the whole world, all of it is a stage upon which a performance is played out. And who is its director?! These are two forces, positive and negative, between which we can create a balance.

But we don’t create this balance, so unfortunately we see a constant dramatic presentation that we could transform into something normal and human, providing happiness, confidence, and inspiration.

Through our unity, we could influence the government, the leaders of the nation, simply changing their minds! They are no more than performers. Where do their thoughts come from? From where do their desires appear? From where does today’s situation come from? How does all this become integrated into the world? To discover this, we must rise to a level where the creation of the whole system of management happens.

Question: Suppose that I like this idea, I even agree with it. Another five people agree with me. Then what?

Answer: Nothing. It means that you will be beaten as long as the rest of the seven million don’t agree with you.

Question: Why would I sentence myself to such suffering?

Answer: You have no other choice! The system of the world management is arranged to bring all of humanity to an integral connection between them; all of nature is linked to this.

Humans have spent so much time outside the general laws of nature that it is now necessary to understand and recognize the evil nature they began with—egoism. But freedom of choice was given to them specifically so that they would reach balance consciously and not through blows.

Before humanity became a small global village with an interdependent economy, trade, science, culture, and so forth, this question didn’t exist; they had to become integrally linked. This began in our day because we grew and became locked together into a single system.

We influence the climate, all of its life, whatever you want! All of us are in a single mass, so we must reach a good common understanding.

Humanity has begun to think: how can we do this? This is the concern of every leader because he sees that he cannot control the situation. Even America depends on everyone. How can they do what is best for them? They cannot do this in any other way! This is because the entire system is falling apart: Everyone is an egoist; every nation pulls in its own direction. What can you do about it? Nothing.

So how is it possible to join everyone together? And they answer: “Oh, these Jews who are sitting in a small nation somewhere can do something, but they don’t want to.” This is what everyone feels subconsciously! And this feeling is just continuing to grow.

And they are right, because in the Torah (the wisdom of Kabbalah) it is said: the entire world depends on us. If the Jewish people would be correctly connected together according to the principle, “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18), then the same thing would also exist throughout the world.

We must bring the world to mutual integral cooperation, this is the goal of the existence of the world, toward which all of nature is moving. So the necessity to return the Jewish people to their place appeared, so that they would create an integral and connected nation here and would become the guide for this concept to the whole world.

The moment we begin to create a state of good relationships between us, we will immediately become a beacon in the eyes of the world! They will breathe a sigh of relief: “Finally these Jews have started working!” And they will only help us.

Comment: But on the other hand, you say that this is already happening somewhat.

Answer: In the meantime, the recognition of evil is happening in a negative way. We are beginning to understand that we have no other choice; not America or anyone else in the world will help us; the war will not stop and each time will only become more difficult. Upon whom is it possible to rely?

And here the people are gradually beginning to listen, like a person having been hit who becomes more sensitive. But this development through suffering is certainly not desirable.

Comment: But in the nation there are various streams among us: the right wing, the left wing….

Answer: That is all children’s games! You understand that people are puppets on strings; thoughts and desires are placed in their hearts and accordingly that is how they act. Everything is determined only through the connection between us. Only relative to this do we have an influence on history, nature, and the world.

Question: So in your opinion, are you saying that all the people of Israel must learn the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: No. They don’t need to learn anything. They just need to reach an understanding that our existence depends on unity and connection.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is not a study but a real connection between people that Abraham made 3,500 years ago when he created our people. People from tribes, families, various small nations who lived in ancient Babylon gathered around him and they united above all the differences between them on the basis of a common ideology, and from them the Jewish people were formed.

Who Does The Land Of Israel Belong To?

laitman_933Comment: Not long ago a well-known Egyptian theologian came to the University of Haifa and conducted a series of lectures for Arab students. In one of them he indicated, that from a realistic point of view the Jews have no fewer rights to the Temple Mount than the Muslims.

His words aroused complaints. Students shouted that he indulges the “Zionist invaders.” And it happened in our University of Haifa!

Answer: All the state is working to ensure some way to appease those who vote against the government. We, all of us, exist here according to the will of God. So I don’t see any contradiction between what is really going on and the incident at the University of Haifa where probably more than half the teachers and students are Arabs. I would call this institution one of the largest Arab universities.

And how many Arabs do you think are studying at Jewish, religious Bar Ilan University? For a long time we have stopped being the owners in charge of the nation, the people, or the land. From this we can conclude that there is no proper education and formulation of the question.

People who receive an Israeli passport, not necessarily Jews, must feel they are citizens of this state, and not take a non-religious university into national religious wars. That should not be. Otherwise, the government should declare itself a religious organization like the Arab states.

Arab students receive serious ideological education directed against Zionists. And this isn’t so with the Jews. The Jews are not tied to the land or the nation, so they don’t show any resistance. The Jews don’t understand how valuable this land is. The land of Israel possesses an amazing characteristic; in a certain way it connects a person with higher forces.

This is the place in the world where you can find your spiritual destiny, and because I am here and not somewhere else is on the basis of the root and branch. It is very important to be in here. A man who understands this feels he has no other place on Earth. Then he reacts differently to everything and has the right to protect this land.

And those who don’t have these roots don’t feel this. In the Six Day War we conquered Jerusalem but due to a lack of a clear ideological foundation, we have now given up what we won because it was not important to us. So all flows gradually away from us drop by drop.

I am not against all of this also belonging to Islam. I am against all of this belonging only to Islam. In general, Israel doesn’t need to belong to religions, but should equally be for all people on the face of the Earth. Religions are a product of human egoism.   We must by all means pull out all that belongs to the spiritual from religious dictatorship.
