An Unusual Country

600.02Comment: Israeli medicine is one of the best in the world, but at the same time it is in a big standstill concerning the detection of diseases.

My Response: This is a big problem. In Israel, they don’t treat you until you begin to die, but they will not let you die. The approach is this: You are left to manage your health, but as soon as you become very ill, then they start to take you seriously.

You can’t do anything; this is a problematic country. Here medicine is private, public, and divided into all sorts of levels. The country cannot get over itself. And it won’t!

This is not an ordinary country. It will become a normal society only when it strives for connection—not human, but spiritual. That is when it will be able to build all its levels, all its systems, in the right way. Otherwise, it will be a bad example to all mankind. Nothing good will happen here.

You won’t see Jewish brains working properly here. You won’t see any achievements here that are beneficial. It is because it doesn’t work in the direction of our purpose. I see it very concretely and explicitly.

People wonder why, and they don’t understand why. We will always demonstrate a negative example until we begin to show humanity another example—connection.

As soon as everything is aimed, first, at uniting everyone into one single nation and the conditions of support, brotherhood, and mutual guarantee are fulfilled, then at this level we will be able to work miracles and show the whole world that it is based on unity that any amazing success is achieved, and all problems, any crises, are solved. But without connection, not.

We must give humanity a good example, and if not, it will always be bad. Such is fate.

Nobility Is Inherent in Us

627.2In the News (South China Morning Post): A video of a 10-year-old Chinese boy having 30 vials of blood drawn to check his suitability to give his mother a life-saving bone marrow transplant has gone viral on Douyin.

“In the video, which has attracted more than 237,000 likes online, the boy’s eyes are steady and firm as a medical professional draws blood from his arm.

“’He used to be particularly scared of pain, but this time, knowing it was to save his mother, he didn’t say a word,’ the father said. …

“’Because my mother gave birth to me, I owe it to her’ Xuanyi said. ‘I want my mum to accompany me home so that I can be happy every day.’”

Question: It seems like such a simple story, on the one hand. On the other hand, where does this depth and understanding of another’s life in a ten-year-old boy come from?

Answer: I don’t know. This is really a special attachment and responsibility that suddenly manifests itself in children.

Question: Where does it all vanish? We know that there are examples of nobility among adults, but less and less. Where does it all disappear to? What kind of sand does it all go into?

Answer: It disappears into the sand because the impact of the common world, which is completely different, dissolves all these qualities that, in principle, we have.

Question: But is there this nobility in us?

Answer: Yes.

Question: By the way, there is also a secret here of how not to be afraid and how not to feel pain. The boy said: “I wasn’t afraid, and I didn’t feel pain because I was doing it for my mother.”

Is it possible to give some advice for an adult about how not to be afraid and how not to feel pain?

Answer: I don’t know. There might be many words, but it is not likely to be felt. It is a bond between a child and a mother, or could be between a donor and a recipient, or between just friends, or loved ones who feel connected like that.

Question: That is, I am happy when I can give something to someone else. Will this formula ever work in humanity?

Answer: It will work. We have such Reshimot, records. But when? In the meantime, we clearly push it away with all our hands and feet. The fact is that we ourselves create our living environment in such a way that it separates us from our parents, from each other, and so on. In general, it will work, but when—it is hard to say.

Question: And why did we choose such laws of life that push us away from each other?

Answer: They don’t oblige us to do anything. Everyone thinks only of himself. Children do not listen to their parents. They leave home early. And parents understand that children have their own nature, their own way. And that is how we quickly disengage.

Question: It is written in the Bible: “And he shall cleave to his wife.” It is written that one way or another a person must leave the house.

Is it written somewhere that we should come to the point where we will feel good when we give to another?

Answer: In the same Bible there are many such sentences. But it is not meant only for family ties. It means when everyone feels like family. And we will feel like relatives when we become interconnected in one single desire, in one single source, that is, in the desire to give, to help, to unite, which is higher than our earthly life, and in which we remain forever.

And we will want to come to this.

Question: You end almost all our clips with these lofty things, as if calling on a person one way or another to come to this. And then you always say, “I don’t see this happening any time soon.” You kind of add bitterness to it all the time.

Why shouldn’t a person just be given this thought and be kept at it? Is it necessary that this bitterness be, that it is not known when it will be?

Answer: It is so that people do not immediately push us away. If we talk about a kind, bright, good, and sweet future, then people will think that we are some naive, frivolous people and they will shut us down.

Comment: And so, you say: “It’s true.” You say: “And it is not known when this will happen.”

My Response: It will be, but not only through a very serious test— awareness, awareness of who we are and what we should be.

Question: Can we jump over this long period? Can we reduce it as much as possible?

Answer: Only through war, great war, and suffering, otherwise nothing. But I don’t think it will be through war, although this is the easiest and fastest method. I would like to hope that we will get through without a war.

Thoughts and Desires Bind Together

565.02All the problems and troubles in this world are the result of the revelation of the lack of mutual guarantee (Arvut), which is increasing. Therefore, we need our behavior to be correct, to return to even our ordinary material connection and mutual guarantee.

All diseases are caused by violations of the law of mutual guarantee at the biological, zoological, botanical, or social level.

There are many levels of compliance with the law of mutual guarantee, but the highest is the love of one’s neighbor as oneself. In physical and chemical form, substances bind together, and at higher levels, people’s thoughts and desires bind together. In this perfect system, which is the universe, all the galaxies are connected to each other, that is, everything depends on mutual guarantee.

The pyramid of mutual guarantee includes the inanimate level at its base, then the vegetative, the animate, and above all, the human level. If we, are above all nature, at the top of the pyramid, fulfill the condition of mutual guarantee (Arvut)  in our desires and thoughts, in our mind and heart, this will affect all the levels below us. This will calm the whole of nature and bring it back to its integral form.

Nature will begin to behave according to the law of mutual guarantee between all its parts in all spheres. And then, of course, we will not have any health problems in the family, in human society, or even in the environment.

It is not possible to fix the environment by burning less oil or taking other protective measures, but only by implementing the law of mutual guarantee at the top of the pyramid where we are. By doing this, we will oblige all of nature below us to return to balance, reciprocity, and harmony.

The action of physical forces or the interaction of chemical substances according to their valences, according to the number of electrons around the atom, which bind together and build new substances—all these are the laws of mutual guarantee, which are revealed in different forms. All the laws of nature are manifestations of one global law.

Even the laws of human relations, psychology, and social life are part of a detailed explanation of the same global law of mutual guarantee, which we must fulfill in its entirety in order to reveal our connection with the Creator within this law. By doing this, we add our part to the Creator, and He adds His to us, and we reach the state of “He and His Name are one.”

A 100-year-old Woman’s Secret to a Long Life

962.8Comment: I heard of a 100-year-old woman in Australia who said that a long life stems from a calm attitude to any tumultuous life events. She recommends not holding on to grudges and to live in the here and now. She said her motto was: “Don’t worry about things that may never even happen.”

I envy these people who can treat everything like this…

Answer: But they are not alive. Not worrying about yesterday or tomorrow, but living only in the here and now, is how a cow lives. Any animal lives in the here and now. If they have premonitions, that’s another matter. But if this sensation is not given to them, then they live with what they have. Look at how they sit, stand, lie down, and sleep. Everything is very simple—whatever the body dictates.

But not a human being. He burdens himself with all sorts of cosmic problems. Stars are exploding somewhere, and this worries him. Being concerned with where you are. This is life.

But your calm bodily existence, this is the life of an animal. If you live only by what you have, the way the body lives, then that is all.

Question: Is it basically impossible to keep a calm attitude to tumultuous life events?

Answer: That depends on the level of your attitude. “I have a calm attitude to everything that does not concern me physically. I am blind to everything else, it does not exist.” It is not about me.

A Kabbalist is open to the whole world. He is open. It is not that he is running around to gain impressions and information, but he has to come out of himself and participate in the world, absorb things inside of him, take in all the problems of this world, and process them correctly. That is how he activates his correction. By correcting the impressions of this world and putting them back out.

Question: So you understood in advance and understand now you are taking on a life that is not trouble-free? And this makes a Kabbalist happy, to live this way?

Answer: It makes him happy because it is a necessity. Otherwise it is not life, a Kabbalist cannot live another way. “One who adds knowledge, adds suffering.”

Will the Brain Be Controlled by Computer?

962.7Question: In the future we will be able to control our brains using a computer or smartphone. Does it mean that we ourselves will become robots?

Answer: There will be such a connection perhaps partially. At least, it will be possible to give signals and commands through a smartphone or through a computer, and to extract information from ourselves and print it.

After all, what is a person? Just an interface.

There Is No Reason To Be Sick!

49.01Comment: Before each congress you usually were ill, generally with respiratory diseases. In fact many would be ill. Now there is a period when this passes us by.

My Response: Because we have reached another stage where we agree with unification, dissemination, and expansion and where we have come into good contact with an external force and wish it to become our internal one. We have already passed the stage of opposition.

And since I absorb everything from others, that is why I would get sick. But now the stage of alienation has ended, connection has begun, and not resistance to this and resistance to me. People are more agreeable, more compliant, more attracted, and willing to attain the spiritual in connection with each other. Therefore, there is no cause to get sick! There is no reason.

Question: So, that opposition affected the physiology in this way?

Answer: Of course! This is reflected at the whole level from top to bottom at all levels.

Question: Why did you have to suffer for everyone?

Answer: If I give to everyone, then feedback also passes through me both from top to bottom and from bottom to top.

Neuroses of the 21st Century

565.02Question: Some psychologists believe that there are five main neuroses of the 21st century. They classify this as the epidemic of narcissism, in which the pronoun “I” is used more often than “we.” Personal success is placed above caring for others. Is this neurosis?

Answer: This is self-love. It exists in every person.

How does a person love himself? I look at the other and I don’t like it. I look at myself; I have the absolute same thing! But mine is better than his. Why? Because it’s mine. That’s all. There’s nothing else. As in the joke, “But mine is still better.”

Question: Psychologists consider this a neurosis. Should something be done about it or should the “I” be transformed into “we”?

Answer: Kabbalah does not advise doing it the way it is done by psychologists, neurologists, and so on. Kabbalah says this should be explained to us as a process of becoming a mature person.

This process is not about suppressing my “I,” this function, and so on, which will all still come out. It will come out somewhere else! It is like a tumor or something. You don’t want it to grow and it will come out in another place and get even worse. Therefore, this is not the way to handle it.

In no way should you force anyone! Gently teach a person to see his emphasized “I” not as a positive quality but as something negative and the person will gradually heal himself.

The most important thing is not to put pressure on him. He is already self-conscious and it is all so stressful. By pushing him more, you can break him.

In such cases, what should be done? If you are great, you are big, you are strong, and you are smart, go into sports. Apply it in such a way in society where you can stand out and have it accepted properly. Such is sport. There, they will put you in your place. Especially if it is a group sport, it is very good.

Question: Another neuroses is called “Fear of Missing Out.” This is about: “I could have been somewhere else, become someone else, lived better, succeeded more…” What to do about it?

Answer: Don’t start!

Question: But it’s gnawing. I know it myself. It’s like a worm sitting there and gnawing at you: “What have you done?! When you could have…!” and so on. How can a person fight it or work with it?

Answer: I believe that, firstly, everything has its own fate. Therefore, everything that is, everything that was, and will be, let it all come.

Question: Can I do anything about it?

Answer: You should not! A person should live in a state where he can be told at any moment: “Lie down and die.” Thus, I lie down and die. So what?

Question: If only it were possible to let go of yourself like this. Can I actually let go like this?

My Response: Absolutely!

Question: Is this how it should be? To never look back?

Answer: Do not control your life or the world and, in general, nothing and no one. Just go along with it. If they stop you, they stop you.

Question: Then it ceases to be neuroses? I instantly calm down.

Answer: Sure. I have lived and I have done something; I hope I have done something good in life and I’m thankful for that.

Question: Psychologists say: Fear of Better Options neurosis or “the problem of the ideal choice” is when you stand in front of three roads and each one seems to lead you to the ideal place, to your dream and the person is bound by thoughts: “How can I make a choice? What to choose?” How to choose where to go?

Answer: I don’t think it’s a choice at all in this case.

Question: A choice between three options. You think, “somehow one is better than the other or this is even better.” Then you are driven by thoughts that: “No, this is better and this…” and so you stand and agonize. How should one act in such cases? Cast lots?

Answer: In general, yes. And the Torah says so—”Pur”  – “lot.”

Question: If you had to make a choice, what would be the main thing you would establish in order to choose?

Answer: To break away from myself and only then make the right choice. Only then will this choice be correct.

Question: So I have to stand before making this choice and try to break away from myself? Before these three paths. So that my “I” is not in control?

Answer: Of course.

Question: How is this done?

Answer: Break away.

Question: So you don’t want to listen to your inner voice here?

Answer: No. You can’t rely on anything here.

Question: What about examples? Let’s say others tell you: “Look, I went there. I am already a scientist, a PhD. I’m already a Nobel laureate. Follow this path.” While the other says: “But I’m already a businessman.” There’s a lot of noise all around you. Should you not listen to this environment?

Answer: Actually, it is better not to choose anything. As they say, you should rely on God’s will. Don’t do anything and just sit and wait. As it says: “Better sit and do nothing,” and then God will send it your way.

Question: Can I rely on Him?

Answer: No, you have to work and do everything you can. Although such fundamental fateful decisions are always difficult to make.

I used to be frequently asked for advice on the choice of profession, university, or something else, and I usually would not give advice. A person must figure out where his soul or hand is leading him.

Question: I still want to follow in your footsteps and learn more about you personally. How do you make a choice? How do you decide?

Answer: I always decide for the maximum benefit of society because I know for sure this is what the Creator wants.

I do not know if I am right or wrong. Usually we do not know whether we are right or wrong.

Question: Perhaps we are more often wrong?

Answer: It doesn’t matter. You never know what the alternative would be. Thus, I try to think: where does the greatest benefit for the Creator lie? What the Creator would like me to do. And this, as a rule, is what’s best for the society, for the people.

Question: Next is the need to adapt. A very common situation nowadays is when a person barely finishes studying for a profession and it is getting replaced by computers or artificial intelligence. He was studying this and he invested five years! Now he doesn’t know what to do.

What should one do in such cases? Today this happens all the time. Unnecessary professions! While colleges and universities go on. You are being taught, but when you graduate, no one needs this profession anymore.

Answer: A person should still understand that the baggage he has accumulated is not in vain. Society still needs educated people. Although they might not be able to apply themselves in the specialty they dreamt of working or advancing, these people with higher education, these serious people, are still of value. It means a lot.

Question: You mean, even if you have studied something random that will never come in handy, for example, like higher mathematics?

Answer: It doesn’t matter. He was still learning something and absorbing information. He also took exams and took part in educational processes. He possesses different information and has a different filling in his brain and heart.

Question: So you want to say there are no wrong professions?

Answer: Any profession shapes a person and makes him a proper part of society after all.

Question: And is it possible to re-make yourself later into something different?

Answer: Of course, he is already used to learning, hearing, listening, reading, and writing. He has developed a need for it. The hand reaches for pen and paper. It’s not like the tramps who sit in a pub not knowing what to do with themselves and only strum the guitar.

Question: So it turns out that it is not all neuroses?

Answer: These are not all neuroses. All of this needs serious revision, understanding by society, and adaptation.

Question: That is, if I direct myself toward society and not to myself, then all this ceases to be a neurosis?

Answer: Yes. You instantly eliminate a lot of societal problems, diseases, and so on.

What Makes It Worth Living a Long Time

627.1In the News (Business Insider): “Billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes death is critical to human progress. Death is ‘important,’ he said this week, because people rarely change their minds — ‘they just die.’ ‘If you live forever, we might become a very ossified society where new ideas cannot succeed,’ he said.

My Response: Why all these scrutinies at all? To create some kind of longevity pill?

Comment: Yes. I mean, he does not want to do it. He says: “Everyone is engaged in it, but I don’t want to. I believe that people should die in their own time.”

My Response: I do not know what “in their own time” means. Today, let’s say, I am 75. 20 – 30 years ago it was already an exorbitant age. And today, it is such that you can easily live for another 10 – 15 years.

Now the question arises: “What is the point?” Should we create such a pill that a person could swallow and live another 10 – 15 years? The fact that we will naturally live so long is another matter. But really?

Question: Then in which case does a person need to go on and on and on?

Answer: Only if a person knows exactly what he exists for and if can benefit himself and others. Only in this case! But this then turns out to be a selective attitude to life; they will not all live like that. But if so, if the benefit to people is constant, then everyone should live like that. Then it makes sense.

“Can nature really heal us?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Can nature really heal us?

There is a therapeutic approach in Japan called “forest bathing,” which sends people with various medical conditions for a long stay in nature. Research shows that a long stay in nature can decrease blood pressure, stress hormones, treat anxiety, depression, and in general, help you heal from different medical conditions.

Indeed, nature has healing powers. Anybody can feel how a walk in nature, being in nature, and going out to stay in the country for a few days, has a healing effect.

Nature consists of the still, vegetative and animate that we need to connect with as opposed to the jungle of stone and bricks that we live in with their stress and tall buildings.

However, the human ego, which wishes to exploit others and nature for self-benefit, increasingly detaches us from nature, making us destroy and distance ourselves from it, and such a process will eventually lead us to at least see how wrong we are in doing so.

In the future, however, I think that everything will work out. We will reach an understanding that our ego is killing us from one moment to the next, and that we need to revise how we conduct our lives, together with understanding what will happen if we continue along the same trajectory. We will then stop letting the ego drive us to harm ourselves.

However, we do not need to go and live in the woods. The solution is among each other, that we start living in unity, with love and mutual support. Such an approach would heal us of all the different illnesses that we have. We could make a thousand-page list of illnesses, and if we develop connections of unity and love, then we would heal ourselves of them all. Reaching relations of love and mutual support among people would balance us with nature at the human level, the highest level of nature.

Based on the video “Can Nature Really Heal Us?” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

Medicine at the Service of Business

600.01Comment: I have heard of such cases when a person seems to be terminally ill, doctors predict that he has very little time left to live, and somehow suddenly he is cured.

My Response: Firstly, it depends on the person. Secondly, with respect to medicine, there is nothing to talk about at all. Health care workers themselves do not understand how pharmacologists fool them. They shove all sorts of nonsense in front of them, and they already work according to this nonsense, just as economists do not understand what they are supposedly given in the economic theories they nonetheless work according to.

Both are absolute lies. The same economy and the same medicine, but with completely different drugs, different attitudes, different data, and facts about all diseases! And all this fanaticism is just for the sake of business. Only just! Otherwise, there would be no additional billions for those who already have a lot of them.

Anyway, my words will not help anyone. This will be revealed gradually in the future. People should reveal evil to the extent that they can cope with, realize, understand, and accept it. If not, it will only bring them completely useless suffering.
