“Unleash The Granny Power” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “Unleash the Granny Power

A story by Rachel Nuwer published on BBC Future describes a unique, successful, and inexpensive way to tackle depression in Zimbabwe. With only twelve psychiatrists for a population of sixteen million, even the few who can afford treatment are rarely able to find a therapist within a reasonable distance.

Therefore, instead of professionals, psychiatrist Dixon Chibanda, director of the African Mental Health Research Initiative, came up with a revolutionary idea that became known as the “Friendship Bench.” Instead of looking in vain for professional help, Chibanda mused, Zimbabweans would consult with people who have warm hearts, lots of free time, a passion for heart-to-heart talks and the ability to give good advice. These people would receive some training and, thanks to their warmth and patience, Chibanda hoped, would be able to help people in distress.

Brainstorming where to find such people, Chibanda arrived at an unlikely solution: grandmothers. Chibanda and his team trained more than 400 grandmothers in talk therapy, which they now offer for free in more than 70 communities in Zimbabwe.

The idea proved to be a resounding success. “In 2017 alone,” Nuwer reports, “Friendship Bench, as the programme is called, helped over 30,000 people. The method has been empirically vetted and have [sic] been expanded to countries beyond, including the US.”

In 2016, Chibanda, in collaboration with colleagues from Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom, published the results of a randomized control trial of the program’s effectiveness in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The researchers found that after six months, the group that had seen the grandmothers had significantly fewer symptoms of depression than the group that underwent conventional treatment.

Clearly, love can go a long way in helping people. Empathy, this is all we need. More than any medicine, it heals us from within. Connecting hearts connects us to the power that sustains our world, the creative force of love. Without this power of connection, no two elements in reality would be able to connect, and life would have been impossible.

When we connect in love, we create similarity between us and the force that creates and sustains life. Just as a string on a guitar vibrates when its note is played on another string when the frequency is similar, when we create a similar feeling to the feeling that creates life—the feeling of empathy and love—we “switch on” this feeling within us.

We experience this feeling as if it came from the person next to us, but it did not. In fact, it came because the warm connection between the two of you enabled you to feel the warmth that exists around you. As long as you have not made that connection, it is as if you do not have a sensor to perceive it. But once you establish it with another person, you can feel it.

This is why loving others is so important. It is not only important to others, but even more important to the loving person. People with love in their heart are connected to the power of love and creation that exists in all of reality. No feeling is more empowering. A person who is connected to it will never feel depressed, lost, or hopeless.

The Biological War Against Egoism

584.03The pandemic has thrown the world into disarray because people do not understand what is happening, do not know what will happen next, and do not know how to protect themselves. Therefore, there is no joy in people and life in the city is no longer bustling and bubbling. It has changed to a gloomy atmosphere. Everyone thinks only about how to stay healthy and not to get infected.

But it would be a mistake to assume that this is a temporary period that will pass. The coronavirus pandemic is here to stay for a long time because this is a very special blow. The virus knows how to affect all areas of our life: family, all of society, children and adults, from young people to the elderly. It can make all kinds of corrections in all forms of society and its connections.

There will also be such strains of coronavirus that will destroy everything old and establish new connections between us. This virus is very smart. It is a biological particle and it is waging a biological war with us against our egoism.

Therefore, the virus with all its new global forms of manifestation will accompany us until the end of correction. Egoism will try to adapt to living next to this beast called coronavirus. But this will not work because this is a biological war that nature is waging against us. If we react to this war correctly, as to something that is directing us to the correction of egoism, we will succeed.

The Creator attacks us with this biological virus and tries to put us in order. But humanity has not yet grasped the correct form it should treat what is happening.

The virus is a factor of a very high and special level because it affects the lack of the correct connection at the biological level. This is no longer the inanimate or vegetative degree but an animate one and one that belongs to the spiritual level. That is, the virus acts as if it wants to jump out into spirituality. Since we do not make this jump, the virus pushes us to ascend to the spiritual degree. And it will do its job.

Eventually, we will discover that we have no solution and that only through the common work of all of us will we be able to eliminate the coronavirus. It will become clear to us that this can be done only through our joint efforts. The virus will oblige us to connect with each other, and this is the only way we can survive it.

The virus is advancing us to spirituality but so far in a negative form. If we were correctly connected with each other, we would be acting more correctly together toward the virus. It would direct us to where we should connect more and where less, it would guide us.

Since we are not doing this yet, and doctors do not disclose that all diseases depend on human behavior, on the lack of balance between us, we will have to suffer more.

Soon we will understand that it is necessary to cover ourselves with masks not so that we do not get infected by the virus from others, but in order not to let your virus infect others. This is already a factor at the human level because it is determined not just by the mask on my face but by my attitude toward this protection: am I trying for my own good or for the sake of others. Who do I put a mask on my face?

The pandemic will not end but will only grow. Nature will not let us be. Nature has millions of different viruses. A virus is a genetic defect that we cause in the genetic system of nature. The entire system is interconnected at all levels, in all forms, in all subsystems.

We do not establish the correct connection between people, the law of love your neighbor as yourself, but only move further away from it. By this, we stimulate the release of viruses, the incorrect development of biological particles at the highest degree of the development of nature above which is only the spiritual degree. We ourselves cause these viruses. They are a consequence of our uncorrected egoism.

Therefore, the pandemic will not end so easily. It will grow and spread in all kinds of ways. Nature has the means to restrain us and guide us correctly to the goal.

Pandemic Part II: “Omicron”

294.4It happened even sooner than we expected. A new strain of coronavirus, dubbed “Omicron,” has recently appeared and threatens to spread with even greater speed.

The large number of mutations found in this virus raises concerns about the effectiveness of existing vaccines. One by one, countries have begun closing their borders and re-introducing quarantine restrictions.

This does not surprise me because from the very first day the coronavirus pandemic was announced I knew that it would not end quickly. We are fighting a battle with nature, acting against its laws.

Nature wants to see us all connected into one system where there is mutual understanding, mutual feeling of each other, and rapprochement. It expects us to support the internal force of this system, the only existing force that acts, and advance our development toward ever-increasing connection.

However, we are in a completely different state. We do not think that we need connection and unity and to use all our forces, intelligence, sensitivity, and scientific knowledge for the benefit of the common system in order to strengthen the oneness of nature.

Therefore, everything we have built turns out in a form that tears nature and society apart and increasingly intensifies the battle between all parts of society and with all of nature. Since we invade nature and tear it to pieces, we receive its reaction in the form of volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, up to the most dangerous viruses.

All these phenomena are manifested due to the lack of balance between all parts of nature that were not compensated by human efforts, but on the contrary, have been extremely exacerbated by humans. Therefore, it is not surprising that this is happening, and specifically in our days, when according to the wisdom of Kabbalah we are entering the era of what is called the last generation.

This is nature’s response to our actions that are. increasingly distancing us from the goal of universal connection into one person with one heart. After all, this is inherent in the basis of nature. No matter how naive it may sound, nature will require us to fulfill this condition since all nature is integral and global. If we develop in the opposite direction, then we face blows of nature.

This does not mean that nature punishes us, although Baal HaSulam writes that nature, like a strict judge, will punish us. But with these blows, nature is only trying to bring us back to balance. Let’s hope it will help.

Although so far I do not see the correct reaction to the blows of nature, that is, greater connection and unification of society built on mutual assistance.

Instead of acting for the sake of correcting society and aiming for the state of one person with one heart, especially now at the last stage of human development when we have to reach perfect connection, we are separating more and more. Accordingly, we receive a negative reaction by nature to our wrong actions.

Previously, nature did not react so sensitively to our misdeeds, wars, and crimes. It was a different era, an undeveloped society, and therefore we did not feel the reaction of nature. Today, however, we feel terrible negative reactions on all levels: inanimate, vegetative, animate, and between people, which endangers our existence on planet Earth.

This reaction will only get stronger and stronger. The coronavirus pandemic will not end unless it is replaced by another, even more painful problem considering we are not drawing the right conclusions.

The new strain is spreading even faster than all the previous ones. This is natural just like if a child does not listen, then first the parents try to persuade him, then punish him, then spank lightly, and if this does not help, then the father has to use a belt so that the son finally obeys. A father is obliged to educate his son so that he does not grow up to be a criminal.

This is how nature educates us. Nature is all global and integral and requires us to consciously, scientifically, and rationally also fulfill this rule of the integral connection between all of us. Nature wants us to build these systems ourselves in human society.

Inanimate nature, plants, and animals instinctively, by nature, observe this rule until people interfere with their behavior and disrupt it. Yet, as soon as a person corrects himself by uniting with all of humanity, all other forms of nature will also reach balance and the entire world will calm down. Not only us, but the entire universe will suddenly come to rest.

The Virus Softens Our Hearts

A New Round Of World Drama: “Omicron”

294.2At our stage of development as a human race, nature expects us to unite so that we realize, at least for our egoistic benefit, we are on the same planet, frantically rushing somewhere in a huge space, and are dependent on each other. There is no one else to help us, we have to organize our own life on this earth.

This is our home, a small village. And if we do not establish this life so that all the inhabitants of the globe can live in peace in a kind world and if we do not care for our planet, we will not be able to survive on it.

This is a problem because nature’s program will not allow us to try again, start over, and correct our mistakes. We are always obliged to move forward according to the program of nature, which in the course of our development will require us to comply more strictly with the laws of connection, in increasingly multi-faceted, high-quality communication.

We will have to meet these requirements. As long as we do not deviate very much from the form laid down for our level of development, nature forgives our mistakes. But if we strongly violate it, we get blows from nature: drought, volcanic eruptions, etc. If our separation crosses all boundaries, then nature reacts with a global pandemic.

And of course, this latest “omicron” virus is just one link in a long chain. There are ranks behind it, a whole army of such negative impacts on man and human society that we will not be able to survive. Nature will beat us until there is a small handful of people left on earth who will understand that there is no way out and who will build the right relationships among themselves.

Each new wave of the pandemic is perceived as an unpleasant surprise. It seemed to us that the virus was almost defeated, and suddenly it hits us even harder. But why did everyone think that the virus would disappear? After all, it came with a specific purpose to shake us up and help us understand that we lack unity.

And if we are working on mutual, friendly connection, we can fix the situation with this. Only this is the real medicine. And if we have not done anything in this direction, then, as is usually the case with a neglected disease, more severe conditions are revealed. If the patient does not receive the right medicine, then the disease progresses, it will not go away by itself.

The disease goes into a chronic stage, and it seems to us that it is over. But no, this is only a leap to an even more serious level of the disease.

The same story begins again: quarantine restrictions, fears, new vaccinations. After all, we have not learned anything during the two years of the epidemic and have not understood the main thing: for what purpose did the coronavirus come to us and what we should oppose it with (besides medical treatment and everything else).

The virus requires us to come closer and unite. It came as an invitation to connect to one system. The virus hit everyone; we were obliged to help our neighbors, which would have eliminated the epidemic. The virus invited everyone to take care of everyone. But did we do it?

We put masks on everyone and dispersed to a safe distance, which was also good. Although it is against connection, it is also against our egoism if we physically distance ourselves from each other. If everyone has a negative desire for the other, then the further we are from each other, the more isolated, the better. This calms the situation, which is confirmed by tests.

But still this is not a solution. Nature obliges us to find a real solution. But we were not looking for it, but only veiled our egoism with masks.

I Am In Favor Of Being Vaccinated

962.3Question: What do you think,  is people’s unwillingness to get vaccinated a manifestation of egoism, distrust of medicine, or distrust of the government?

Answer: I think that it is people’s distrust of what is going on around them. They feel the world, no matter what place they feel it from and in what way, as hostile. This is because of the government or because of healthcare or for whatever reason.

After all, everything has been bought and is under the control of circles that think only of themselves, of their own benefit. It turns out that it is going to harm me; either they need to reduce the population or to suppress people. Today a person does not believe in anything. He sees that nothing is being done for his benefit.

Therefore, naturally, no one agrees to just go and expose themselves to vaccinations, which, by the way, are not such a clear thing either. Where did they come from? What am I being injected with? How will this affect me, my genes, my offspring, and everything?

Maybe we are just infecting each other, and as a result, we will get an environment in which viruses living in us will determine everything—right down to our consciousness. There is certain logic in this.

But I do not hold on to that. I believe we need to get vaccinated.

The Anti-Aging Cure

537In the News (BBC.com): In 1965 Jeanne Calment, aged 90, sold her apartment in Arles to her lawyer, Andre-Francois Raffray – a man half her age. It was a viager deal, and Raffray agreed to pay her 2,500 francs (about $500) per month. But Calment went on to become the world’s oldest living person, dying 32 years later at the age of 122.

“Raffray himself died two years before her, on Christmas Day 1995.

“‘On the same day, Jeanne Calment, now listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s oldest person at 120, dined on foie gras, duck thighs, cheese and chocolate cake at her nursing home near the sought-after apartment in Arles, northwest of Marseilles in the south of France,’ the New York Times reported, a few days after Raffray’s death.

“‘She need not worry about losing income. Although the amount Mr Raffray already paid is more than twice the apartment’s current market value, his widow is obligated to keep sending that monthly check. If Mrs Calment outlives her, too, then the Raffray children and grandchildren will have to pay.’

“‘In life, one sometimes makes bad deals,’ Mrs Calment said on her birthday last Feb 21.”

Comment: She outlived the lawyer and his family continued to pay her 2,500 francs per month for two more years. She died at the age of 122.

My Response: Not bad. Precisely due to the fact that she signed such an agreement? 🙂

Comment: Maybe. 🙂 Maybe it kept her going.

As a new study shows, after the age of 108, in a statistical sense we stop aging. This sheds some light on the aging mechanism itself. Some animals, such as mussels, do not age at all. Gerontologists say: “We are about to discover the anti-aging cure.”

My Response: I had a friend who died at the age of 106. He lived not far from me. When I saw him and asked: “How are you?” he would say: “You know, I am tired of living.” And he would walk dragging his feet along the sidewalk. He used to walk a lot.

Question: And dragged his life along with him?

Answer: Yes. He was set financially, in every way everything was fine. He was just tired.

Question: So you are saying scientists don’t need to research this?

Answer: What for? Let a man live out his 70 years. I think that in general this is a decent number. You just have to live them well, normally, and then lie down quietly and not wake up. Like that, nice!

Comment: That is a good ending, of course. The ending of the righteous, they say.

My Response: It is said so: 60 years or in special cases 70. That’s it.

Comment: But many will disagree with you.

My Response: Let them disagree, but this is what is written.

Question: So, actually, this science is not needed. What should a person proceed from?

Answer: From the fact that one can still feel life actively and can still bring some benefit to those around him or her. Not that he will be looked after and that’s it. I would surely not want to wake up.

Question: When you say “benefit to others,” what do you mean?

Answer: That there are people who are happy that this person lives.

Question: And then he will live?

Answer: Yes.

Question: That is beautiful. Will this bring him and others happiness?

Answer: Yes.

Question: And the moment it is not possible?

Answer: What is there to live for? To keep this animal alive? For what? You descend to the level of an animal (the body is an animal) and only think about its existence. And it exists not even like an animal any more but more like a plant.

Question: And if a person finds a goal in life that stimulates him all the time?

Answer: That is a whole different thing! Then he lives for this goal, exists for that purpose. But he must create. To create means that he brings something useful and new to the world.

Question: What do you mean by that?

Answer: Improving relations between people, this is the most important thing. What else could there be?

Question: And then he feels alive and is able to keep going?

Answer: Yes. Because then he really brings goodness and innovation into the world. This not only prolongs his life, it perpetuates him. That is, it puts him above humanity because he thinks about it all the time.

Question: It turns out that he is beyond life?

Answer: Beyond life, of course. This is a worthy way to get old. And everyone can do it.

Question: Does he age while doing so or not?

Answer: Physiologically, of course he ages. But everything he does, his soul remains in people.

A Remedy For Loneliness

A Remedy For Loneliness

294.4Question: Is it possible to heal loneliness?

Answer: Yes. Loneliness is actually a blessing, but we just need to make sure that loneliness doesn’t lead us to all sorts of unnecessary and undesirable consequences. Because if lonely people suffer from their loneliness, they are ready to do anything. They can become radical extremists and so on, and they can also engage in drug abuse and commit suicide.

We need to look at different kinds of loneliness. If it is intellectual loneliness, it is a blessing for a person and for humanity. If it is not intellectual but scientific, it can also be a blessing, although today’s science is conducted increasingly more in groups. But if it is psychiatric, psychological loneliness, it should be looked into and we need to help a person balance it somehow.

Everything depends on whether a person feels comfortable being lonely. When my loneliness is invaded, it is very hard for me. I can stand a person for a while and then I can’t do it anymore. I need to leave, to retire, to be by myself, to be alone.

Question: What is correct loneliness?

Answer: Correct loneliness is that which leads to one’s internal development.

I understand a person as an entity, each one spends part of his time totally on his own, inside himself, contemplating and reflecting on different matters. He spends a small part of his time with others. On the whole he “lies” when he is with others, and tries to make a certain impression and thus acts and presents a different person, not himself.

How can a person not be lonely? It is possible to make him not feel lonely if you educate him correctly. It is possible to educate a person at any age. It means that you need to show him that he can gain from the right form of loneliness.

If he understands that only by the right connection with another person can he reveal the upper world, transcend the boundaries of life and death, of his own existence, it already sounds enticing.

Question: What does the right connection with another come down to and how can it be attained?

Answer: The right connection is when one person seemingly dwells in another. This is what is referred to by “make your desire the desire of another.” By doing so, when I exit myself and dwell in another, which means that I begin to work on the desires of another and to fill them instead of filling my own desires, by using my whole physical and creative potential in order to fill another, I seemingly move to dwell in him. I seemingly begin to feel that life flows through him.

This is a totally different life; this is spiritual life. Why is it spiritual if it is a person like me? It is because I become another by trying to feel him instead of myself, which means that I exit myself. It is as if my body dies, and I with all my intellect move to dwell inside him. This is where a person can exit his own body.

Question: Can it be any other person, like a donor, in order to feel that I am alive, happy and fulfilled?

Answer: Yes. By moving to dwell in another you roam in a totally different space.

Question: And this is the remedy for loneliness?

Answer: It is not only the remedy for loneliness, but the remedy for death. It is a remedy that makes you immortal, in order to attain perfection and to ascend above yourself, above your ego.

Do Not Lose Your Mental Balance

630.2Question: An experiment has been launched in Brussels on restoring mental health during the pandemic. They send people not to pharmacies but to museums. Moreover, museum exhibitions vary from fashion industry to wastewater treatment.

A similar system was implemented in Quebec. Doctors there prescribe up to 50 preventive visits to museums during the year to their patients. They say that this will be more effective than antidepressants during this crisis.

How do you like this unique solution instead of antidepressants?

Answer: It is very good. At least it is a kind of educational process.

Question: Does a person forget about all his problems when he enters a museum?

Answer: He starts to look at the world in a different way.

Question: What if museums are about the history of fashion, the history of humanity, nature, and so on?

Answer: It develops a person and expands his mind. He at the same time starts to look at the world differently. It is necessary. This is the way to realize where we are, what we are in nature, and who we are in general. Man really needs this. Based on all this, he will be able to solve other problems.

Question: Are you in favor of visiting museums?

Answer: Absolutely! I can give you an example. I was in Toronto and New York for 28 days and practically did not get out of museums. Every day I went to a new museum. It helps to expand the mind.

Question: That is, a person who is in a state of crisis needs this expansion of the mind?

Answer: Yes. He looks at the world differently, in a broader manner, as a whole, and he sees connections between things, objects, and forces. He starts to look at the world in such a way that the world turns out to be much bigger than this small, narrow world in which he suffers.

We Should Take An Example From The Paralympians

600.04Question: The Paralympic Games in Tokyo ]recently ended. You look at tennis players without legs, shooters without arms, jumpers on prosthetics, basketball players in wheelchairs, and at the same time you read the stories of them overcoming themselves.

What do such games give them and what do they give to the world?

Answer: This gives them and the world the opportunity to show that a person can overcome any obstacles and live a full life, and even win.

We need to learn from them—to have a goal, to overcome difficulties and to achieve this goal.

Question: When you set a goal for yourself and move toward it, do you have any examples?

Answer: I have my teacher! I take everything from him.

Question: I do not draw parallels with these games, but can we say that your teacher was in such a state that it was simply impossible to rise, and did he rise? Did you see that?

Answer: Yes! This is in Kabbalah at every step if you want. That is how a person should live.

What You Need To Learn From The Example Of The Japanese

733Question: In Japan, the number of suicides has turned out to be greater than the victims of the coronavirus for the whole of 2020. The reason for this is clear: economic difficulties, layoffs from work. The Japanese are very responsible, they have a painful state of responsibility.

Please tell me, what is it? We always talk about the “crown,” [coronavirus] and here there are more suicides in a month than in the entire period of corona.

Answer: The fact is that this is the character of a people who must be tied to some common cultural, historical, national values, and cannot feel free.

There is no freedom for them. They live on a small island to this day. To this day they are cut off from the world at heart.

They can travel, take photos of everything everywhere. But they have not left the mental and psychological development of being isolated on their small islands, in the small archipelago of Japan, plus the defeat in the Second World War with the atomic bomb and so on.

That is, they have a very huge pressure. Working for them is like forgetting. In this they simply find themselves. And now, when no one needs this work, everyone is being fired there.

And they cannot live without it because it is like an umbilical cord to the mother; they are so attached to their work. After all, they have everything at work, and therefore for them if there is no work, then there is nothing to exist for.

Work. When you have to get up, you have to go to work, you come after it, and you have a drink, maybe some glass of your own sake and go to bed. In general, this is your life. There is still a family, but all this is still within the same framework.

I cannot imagine Japan existing in a different rhythm. I cannot imagine why the government doesn’t organize fake jobs for both men and women in order to organize them in this way. After all, a free Japanese is nonsense! That is impossible! You see how they walk, how they drive.

They can’t do it any other way! For them, all these clear lines of conduct are necessary.

Question: This is what we are talking about, the Japanese. But there are a million suicides every year in the world. People commit suicide. Do you think this phenomenon will continue to grow?

Answer: This exists even among animals. Therefore, I believe that when egoism loses the meaning of existence, at any level-animal or higher, it makes a calculation: Is it worth living or not?

Question: But in principle is this a loss of the meaning of life by and large? Is that the whole point?

Answer: Of course, life does not pay for itself.

Question: So in order for a person not to commit suicide, he must have such a meaning of life that is eternal?

Answer: No, not eternal. But at least the pleasure, the fulfillment, I get eventually exceeds the costs. That is, I am left with some kind of positive balance. Otherwise, what is the point of living? Just because I’m afraid of dying? So I’m not afraid.

Question: How do you feel about the fact that there is a suicide gene? They say that American scientists have found 22 suicide genes. If we remember Hemingway, then his father, sister, brother and granddaughter all committed suicide; there were five deaths for three generations.

Does this suicide gene exist?

Answer: Gene I do not know; I am not strong in this matter, but there is a predisposition to this, of course. And the Japanese have it, and there are such peoples, such tribes, such times, and so on.

Question: And how to get out, how to defeat, either this predisposition or the gene?

Answer: Meaning.

Question: Only the search for meaning?

Answer: Only. And how else? Because the meaning of life and its correct implementation are already leading you to a new life. You don’t have to die or imagine anything. You will now see your future world in this life. Please, everything is in front of you. It only depends on the correct implementation.

Question: What is the meaning of life?

Answer: The meaning of life is to change your nature from receiving to giving, from hatred to love, from rejection to drawing closer to others.

And then you will feel a completely different existence in these properties. And it will be the reverse world. You will find fulfillment in filling others. And there will be no disappointment in this. We will come to this.
