At the Arava Convention our ten will be divided in three parts: some will come directly to the convention in the desert, some will participate in a local mirror congress, and some will connect to the convention virtually from home. Is it possible in such a situation to connect as one person with one heart?

If we really want to connect between us and with the Creator, we will be in one heart, which is the Creator. He is one and He rules over the entire world without any boundaries and separation. If I connect with Him, I connect with every friend who is also connected with the Creator. That is all. Let us try to implement it.

How can you prepare yourself for the upcoming congress in the Arava so that you can be with everyone together, at its very epicenter, and not miss something very important, which will then be a thorn in your heart for many years?

If you follow the congress closely, from no matter where, then you will join it and we will all be together in the same Kli, in the same scrutinies, and in the same exercises. And in this way we will rise together.

Of course, everyone will understand this to the extent of one’s preparation. But we still have almost a month ahead of us and we can prepare so that everyone can be practically on the same level. And that means a lot.

It is better to be at a lower degree but all together, than at a higher degree with each on his own. I hope that we will integrate so that we will all be together at a certain small degree, but we will all understand each other and try to rise together. That is what is important for the congress.

So the most important thing for this congress is to be together! Not physically, but psychologically and spiritually.

It is better to be on a lower degree together than on a higher degree alone, because when I am on the same degree with the ten, I am in a spiritual Kli. And when I am on the spiritual degree alone, without a spiritual Kli, there is no guarantee that I will be able to stay there. At any moment I can fall from there.

We need to reach the end of correction at least in the ten, and then all the other tens will join. So far, there are a small number of tens at the degree of the end of correction, Rabbi Shimon’s ten and a few more. And we also want to achieve it, so we are counting on the success, not of any individual, but of at least a ten.

Attempts to unite carried out in a group are always new. Like with a child who is constantly making mistakes, in the end, he comes to a decision and achieves the goal himself. But on the spiritual path, we see that we are not able to achieve the spiritual goal; we have to receive strength and explanation, help, and support from above. But this is already a decision. And then we demand and receive.

From where can a person of our world gain an understanding of the methodology, knowledge, and power? After all, it all belongs to the spiritual level, to the next dimension! It is just above his head: absolutely different thoughts, decisions, and understanding of nature, completely different brains. They work according to a different principle.

In our world, there are electronic devices that are not compatible with each other, and we need to create a commutation between them, build whole commutative systems.

And in spirituality, even this does not exist. There is a qualitative quantum leap here. We have to get an additional portion of light in order to rise to the next level.

Comment: You once explained that there is no need for heroism here. We do not need to strive to succeed because the Creator heals only broken hearts.

My Response: It is necessary to succeed in understanding that we require a portion of light from above that would give us absolutely new qualities.

Before reading The Book of Zohar, we need to adjust ourselves so that we feel that we are in a group. Then we are in an equivalence of qualities with the very group of Kabbalists who wrote The Zohar, and we can more easily understand what they want to convey to us.

Understanding comes as a result of the influence of light. The light acts on us from the connection between the souls of the ten Kabbalists, who all together were in a completely corrected state, that is, in a completely corrected connection with each other.

Therefore, when they corrected the connection between them to such an extent that none of them had an uncorrected will to receive, they revealed between them the upper light, called “Zohar” – radiance, which is emanating from the Rosh (Head) of Arich Anpin, the light of infinity.

Therefore, if we try to reach the same relationship between us as the authors of The Book of Zohar, we attract light from the same states they have reached.

This light can also create a connection between us, as it is said: “He who makes peace above will make peace upon us.” This is what we should expect from reading The Book of Zohar.

The staff that we rely upon in our spiritual work in the ten is the connection of Malchut with Bina; it is the force that we hold on to that does not allow us to make mistakes and fall. When we connect with each other in the ten, we thereby build such a staff, i.e., connection between us. Through our connection with each other, we connect with Bina.

Each one annuls his egoistic desire in something and joins the tiny will to bestow that shines before him. In this way, together we can grasp this force, this concept called the staff (Mate). This means that the will to receive becomes of lower (Mata) importance for us.

Each of us tries to set an example to our friends of how we can hold on to the staff together.

Question: Often before big events or congresses there are states when people start to distance themselves somehow, think that they are unimportant, and do not take part in the events. Do they lose something by not overcoming those states?

Answer: Of course, undoubtedly! The main problem is in the preparation of desire, suffering, and awe. Will the connection succeed at the next level? After all, if it doesn’t work out, it will be a huge blow, a failure, which then, of course, through disappointments and various revelations of problems will turn into a correction.

But we need to act differently. We need to go forward with our own pressure, and push our way into the higher world.

Question: What should I do? The main thing for a person is just to participate?

Answer: No, you have to be in this body and soul and prepare yourself with great passion, with great trepidation, and with horror that it may not work out because such an incredible opportunity comes once in a lifetime.

Comment: You said that if a person is half a step away from leaving the group, essentially the goal he has been engaged in for a long time, then there is no point in holding him back because he no longer has the desire.

My Response: I am not in favor of holding a person by force. I feel that if I give everything I can, and the student does not become attached to our system through this, then his time has not come yet.

I don’t see much use in getting him interested and luring him in. I have no inner strength or inner motivation for this.

Maybe because my teacher Rabash had such an attitude that if his students care about connection between them and show support for one another, then in this state they should move forward. And if someone falls out of the general connection for some reason of his own, then he falls out.

You cannot hold a person by force. If he hears about the concept of the practical idea of correcting himself and the world, which he begins to feel the effect on himself in action, then he must make efforts and invest himself.

And if it does not do this sufficiently, then it is impossible to keep him recharged all the time.

Ultimately, he must learn to revive himself, to connect himself to an upper source.

Question: When one of your students drops out of the group, what does he lose?

Answer: The general system suffers, and he suffers. But what can he do? Nothing. Like a child, you give him all the time, show him everything, teach him, and instruct him, but the time comes when he must take independent steps, and if he does not do them or does them wrong, then he must understand that he has already passed his childhood and youth and has grown up, that he has reached maturity and must now advance by himself.

At this stage he must be left alone; he will either advance on his own or not. In principle there is a group and an environment, and, as we know from articles about freewill and the environment, he must already behave consciously, independently, together with the rest, and try to create completely new states, both his own and others’.

Question: Should we leave a person to the mercy of fate? Where is the guideline here so that there is neither negative nor positive pressure on him?

Answer: If he comes to study in our group, then everything else depends on him.

Somehow he was sent from above, he found himself here; all possibilities are open before him—lessons, meetings, meals, and external events. Everything is there to come, study, and join in any activities of the group.

He must become included. There are people who are more sociable or less sociable; this is understandable. But all the same, he was given the importance of the goal and the opportunity to be a friend to all the other hundreds of people who are engaged in spiritual correction. He was brought here, and then he must act on his own.

Imagine that you are standing at a crossroads: If you go left, it is for your own sake, and if you go right, it is for the sake of the Creator. How can you choose the correct intention in order to go in the direction of bestowal?

We must yearn for bestowal and try to reach it by all means. Then the Creator will always correct us and teach us how to do it. The main thing is to act together with the friends and look for forms of connection between us that will give us a feeling of coming closer to the Creator.

Let’s create such a unity in which our inner connection will be able to reveal the form of the Creator, His quality, and His character to us. The more we move in this direction day by day, the better we will begin to understand who the Creator is and who we are, what distance separates us, and what we need to do in order to come a little closer to Him.

Every day, every moment when we yearn to connect, we must check whether the form of our connection is becoming more and more true, in mutual bestowal to each other. This is the very first exercise that The Zohar gives us: to connect in a ten and reach such mutual bestowal and mutual connection that approaches the form of the Shechinah.

This does not mean physical distance, but rather a feeling of inner, spiritual closeness.

But we are not required to reach this correct intention ourselves; the main thing is to search for it. The most important thing is the search, the questions, the inner regret that we are not able to come to it. From this, a prayer will be born that will help us reach the desired goal.

The Creator must arrange the desire for us, and He also arranges its fulfillment, the answer to it. We just need to be searching.

Question: How does a person’s involvement in the internal processes of the group help him accelerate his progress and even, perhaps, go through spiritual states more painlessly?

Answer: When a person is engaged in materials that speak about the next level of the world, then from there, from that level, the surrounding light shines on him. He gets a little charge.

By being engaged in connection with his friends, he prepares the conditions for the influence of that same surrounding light on him. The most important thing is to work with light, meaning with your next level. To the extent that he aspires to it in study, in connection with friends, in disseminating it, in inspiration, in exalting it, from there the upper light shines on him the quality of bestowal that reigns at that level.

It is in this quality of bestowal that a person begins to rise above the virtues that he has at the moment. This is the principle of spiritual ascent—to attract the quality of the upper level, the radiance of the upper light.

Question: What happens if a person cannot find himself in this system?

Answer: He leaves this method and will return to it no one knows when. He will be given the same awakening again, only the external conditions will be much worse with problems, wars, and sufferings that will help him overcome the difference between the stage he is on and the next one, i.e., between today’s egoistic quality and the next, future, altruistic one.

Question: Have some of us already experienced this separation; have we repeatedly come and departed from this method?

Answer: I don’t know, maybe. Someday you will know, although it doesn’t matter. What is the difference, because when a person is in this method, he is immersed in it. If he goes forward, then he goes; if not, then no. It still does not convince him whether he was already in it or not. It is like he has been reborn every time.
