I Will Consist Of Two Parts

laitman_268.02As a result of correction, a friend and the Creator merge into a single image for me. I see no difference between them because my egoism has been corrected and I cannot tell them apart. All the differences that I perceive are depicted inside my corrupted ego.1

It is written that “From love of friends one comes to love of the Creator.” We don’t change one goal for another, one simply leads to the other: love of the Creator is born out of love for the creatures, while the love of the Creator obliges us to love the creatures. Thus, they take turns changing on each degree until we stop distinguishing the creatures from the Creator, and all become one.2

The person wants to know why he was born in this world, for what purpose? He wants to reveal the upper force that arranged his entire life with all its problems. But we can only reveal the Creator on condition that we undergo a change and become similar to Him. Change part of our egoism for bestowal, and in this reverse part we will feel the actions of the Creator.

Let’s say that I corrected 1/1000 part of my desire. Now I am able to feel that the Creator exists and has a purpose different from mine. From now on, I will consist of two parts: the part of the Creator in 0.1% of my desire and the desire to enjoy in the other 99.9%. From these two I am able to choose which is greater: my egoism or the Creator inside me.

With the help of the reforming light, I keep adding strength to the corrected part at the expense of the corrupted one. All this is on the condition of being connected with the right environment that allows us to advance.3

We keep hatred and build the cover of love above it. We need them both, as it is written: “Love will cover all transgressions.” Specifically cover, not destroy, hatred or turn it into something else. The difference between love and hate must remain, only then will it fuel them both like oil, wick, and flame.4

Our disagreements with a friend have to remain; each one remains with one’s own opinion. But at the same time, what is most important to us is to achieve unity, and we rejoice at having done that and that the Creator giving us an opportunity to be together. We seek the quality of the Creator between the two of us: two opposites in one.5

laitman_962.4Rabbi Akiva was Rashbi’s (Rabbi Shimon) teacher, and naturally knew everything that would be written in The Book of Zohar. He knew even more than Rabbi Shimon, but he could not reveal it. In order to reveal this knowledge, Rabbi Shimon united with ten other people and created a system reflecting the state of final correction. Therefore he was able to give an explanation in a form that previously nobody was able to articulate.

He adapted Kabbalah to the “last generation” that we live in today, which is the reason we value The Book of Zohar. Rabbi Shimon took the science of Kabbalah and clothed it into the correct Kli for final correction. Therefore, we can use the light that reaches us through his group.1

The Combination Of Opposites

627.2Two opposites in one subject—this is the main point that determines the entrance to the upper world, to the spiritual dimension, that is, to the space where the Creator is the source of two forces. With respect to us, they are revealed as the force of evil and the force of good, Klipa and holiness, bestowal and reception, two opposite forces. However, the Creator has no contradiction and everything is connected into one.

It is only with respect to us, our sense and understanding, that this manifests itself as two forces that contradict each other. The more we begin to learn about creation, the greater the distance and conflict we see between them. Therefore, we cannot perceive spirituality, as it is written, “For in Isaac shall a seed be called to you, and offer him there for a burnt-offering.” One thing contradicts the other: on the one hand, you are ordered to kill him, and on the other hand, he must be the continuation of your path.

How is this possible? We do not understand this with our mind, and we must acquire the mind of the upper. If we exert in keeping these principles, we attract the reforming light, which builds a new reality for us. In this new space that we are revealing, which is called the middle line, these two opposite lines can coexist together, as one whole, completing each other.

It is very difficult, almost impossible to perceive. There must be a society and the reforming light from above that will connect the two lines together to the middle line. The middle line is the Creator. The revelation of the Creator, or the connection of two opposite lines, gradually leads us to the purpose of creation, to the end of correction. Step by step these opposites grow and connect more and more. This is our entire work.

We have already made enough preparation over many years and have gathered many people that are capable of making this step. The rest will become capable of it by clinging to those who have already gone through the correct preparation. It is like in our world, children born today in the 21st century join all the progress achieved before and go ahead of all past generations because they clung to their parents and received from them all that they have.

It is so also in a Kabbalistic group, no matter who is more or less advanced. If everyone tries to achieve the goal according to all one’s strength and preparation, he or she will achieve it.

I hope you have a serious attitude to this topic, because in the wisdom of Kabbalah, in spiritual work, in the attainment of the Creator, the upper reality and the perfection of nature, there is nothing more important than this principle of the connection of two lines. This combination of opposites is the spiritual space that is revealed to a person. When he enters it, he begins to feel the next world. There is no doubt that by working together we can advance and achieve all this, drawing everyone to this degree, that is, to the beginning of the true spiritual ladder.

From this moment onward, we always continue in three lines, in faith above reason. Then the entire Torah and the entire world become clear to us. All of reality begins to gain perspective, dividing into three lines and revealing their interaction. After all, now we do not know where the plus and minus come from and where they lead us. Yet, if we know how to correctly tie the opposites above our world and our earthly mind with the spiritual senses and mind, we achieve unlimited revelation, understand how the Creator is operating, what He does, and what we need to do to become like Him, becoming “like God, knowing good and evil.”1

Hanukkah: The Middle Of The Path

laitman_962.1Many people think that what is most important is to annul one’s ego and separate from it, to become so holy that you cannot hurt a fly, like an angel in the sky. It is a big mistake to think that this is how we achieve correction. We only distance ourselves from evil, but do not correct it; therefore, we don’t fulfill the purpose of creation.

Thus, Hanukkah is the middle of the path: “stop here” (Hanu-ko). We still have a war ahead of us, enormous and unique, but now, having achieved the bestowing desires we get a respite. This pause means that we change our method for the rest of the war.

At first, the war was waged to conquer the desires of bestowal, faith above reason. Then we begin to work with the desires of reception for the sake of bestowal. This is a completely different approach. Thus, one should not think that a simple distance from egoism is the end of correction. In fact, this is only a preparation for the correction, which hasn’t started yet.1

Why is it that we cannot continue the old way after Hanukkah, but need new strength? Because a totally different light is coming. Before Hanukkah we grow in our bestowing desires, in smallness, Galgalta ve Eynaim. We are not yet fighting our egoism, we just rise above it. We do not turn the evil inclination into a good one, nor use the ego to turn it into holiness.

By turning the angel of death into a holy angel, we build the image of the Creator. All the evil that the Creator has embedded us with we transform into His image.2

“Come In Already!”

laitman_962.4We keep coming back to reading the same articles, but we must see them in a new way every time, as if reading them for the first time. If I embrace the material as new, it is a sign that I am advancing. The article is old, as it is written “And you shall eat old store long kept,” but every time I find a new taste in it.1

Cascading from above down, the upper worlds pave the way for us from below up so that we eventually discover that we are standing at the bottom, at the foot of the ladder, which we should climb. Everything is already determined, every degree. The only choice is whether we go through this path in due time (Beito) for each stop, that is, according to a predetermined process moving from one degree to the next, or through hastening time (Achishena), accelerating our ascent in accordance with our efforts and thus changing its character.

All states are already predetermined, but we can enter them through our own will, requesting and making efforts to advance. If we move with the natural course of time, we stand before each degree until the conditions in the old degree force us to change. Therefore, it is a slow and unpleasant journey.2

The internal part of the worlds is the upper light clothed in desires. The external part is the effort that we need to make in order to enter the internality and ascend. We are always in externality in order to achieve internality through our exertion.

At each degree, we pass from externality to internality. Externality represents the conditions given to us in which we need to reveal the intensity of our exertion, desire, willingness, and then we will be rewarded with the internality. This is like the left and right lines from which the middle line is built. The stages of spiritual attainment always go from externality to internality.

Every person first belongs to the nations of the world, which belong to the externality of the worlds. When he understands that it is necessary to reach bestowal, which is possible only through our connection and mutual guarantee, then he reaches the internality and becomes Israel. At each degree we receive new conditions and implement them, moving from the left to the right line.3

We cannot artificially disconnect ourselves from expecting an egoistic reward, it all depends on the extent of our connection. The more we connect, the more we feel that we are dependent on the one. And when I depend on the one—one principle, one source—then everything else disappears from my field of vision because I cease to take it into account, relating everything to the single upper force beside which there is nothing. It all depends on our connection.4

Externality rules over us so that we can overcome this external control within us. Every person consists of an external and an internal part and with the help of the group, environment, and study, he must overcome the externality in order to scrutinize the internality and connect this internal part with the internal points of the friends. This is how we will reach the center of the ten where the Creator is certainly waiting for us.

Imagine how we, that is, our internal point, come to a heavy iron-bound gate, and if we are all connected, the gate opens and the Creator meets us on the threshold saying: “Well, where have you been! Come in already! The table is already set and everything is ready for the feast.”5

Rise Above Desires, Prefer Spiritual Advancement

laitman_962.6An inner craving for knowledge, for advancement, and for scientific development is inherent in humanity. However, we must come to a clear realization that only equivalence of form with the upper force will give us satisfaction worthy of a human. Everything else is just a Klipa, which we should not touch.

It seems to us that with the help of external knowledge will we achieve something, but soon we will reach a crisis in science. Everything that has been developed by humanity, except the soul, is work on idols, which does not bring any benefit; on the contrary, it leads us in the opposite direction. In the end, it makes us repent and raise our hands.1

In the corporeal world, a hero is the one who wants to triumph over others with his egoism. In the spiritual world, a hero is the one who overcomes his own egoism.2

Envy is the most powerful force. I cannot stand that another person has what I should have. This feeling is so strong because it comes from the influence of the light from above that lets me feel the other person as myself. Therefore, I envy him because all his accomplishments, compared to what I see in myself, seem to be multiplied many times, according to the distance between us.3

Envy stems from the fact that we come from the single soul of Adam HaRishon; therefore we can feel each other, can see what a friend has. Egoism multiplies many times over what I see in a friend so that even the most insignificant thing in the hands of others seems very valuable to me and I want to have it. It seems to me that I am lacking exactly what he has and if I get it, I will be completely fulfilled. This comes from the system of Adam HaRishon.4

If I feel envy, a certain desire, it means that I have to work with it. We are not responsible for our desire and its character—desire appears and disappears, and returns again. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, we are not at war with any desire, but we simply become more integrated into the correct environment where we get the right direction and strength.

A person has no chance of defeating his desire in a frontal battle face to face and there is no reason to attempt it. I must regard all desires as sent to me in order to grow because of them. If I destroy a desire, I cannot grow. I must rise above the desire and prefer spiritual advancement to it. This is possible through connection with the environment and appeal to the Creator, the implementation of the method of correction.

I do not even take into account the desires that are revealed in me because I do not intend to realize them. I see them only as a springboard from which I have to push off in order to jump up. That would be the right attitude.5
