Love Will Cover All Crimes

239Love will cover all transgressions. This means that day by day we will have to reveal new sins because without this it is impossible to advance. Selfishness is bound to develop more and more. The Creator only gave rise to creation by breaking the common soul of Adam HaRishon. From this, the evil inclination began to unfold, our great desire to receive pleasure, and we need to help this egoism open more and more so that it does not remain at the inanimate, vegetative, or animate level.

But egoism can be revealed only in the opposite form. If we want to accelerate the disclosure of egoism, we must, on the contrary, strive to achieve unity. And if yesterday we did not come to a greater awareness of evil than the day before yesterday, then we did not strive for unity.

Every day we try to unite, and as a result, rejection will open up to us, for which we will ask for the power of correction so that love will cover all transgressions. And so we will continue to advance.

It is necessary to reveal evil and attract good to it in order to cover all crimes with love. Without transgressions, there will be no union, there will be no correction of the Kli. We must open all the cracks, all the breaking, in our union, in the vessel of the common soul of Adam HaRishon. And this is possible only when we strive to unite.

First, we perform artificial actions, trying to achieve unification, but we see that the Creator does not allow us to unite. On the contrary, it reveals hatred and rejection between us. And this is the desired result, because crimes are being disclosed on top of which we can truly unite and cover them with love. But this is already with the help of a prayer to the Creator who will give us the power of unity. And so we come to correction.

This is the work: We strive for good, and the Creator reveals evil to us, but we try to cover evil with good, and we turn to the Creator for help. These are the two actions: back and forth, back and forth, corresponding to the four stages of the Kli.

You can imagine that we are sitting in a boat and rowing together, each with his own oar. Each does work in his own Kli. He is drawn to union and sees that rejection awakens in its place. And then he makes a second movement: He turns to the Creator, asks for help, and sees how the Creator makes a row of paddles for him. He does not leave the Creator until He completes the action, covering all crimes, transgressions, with love.

I do the first row with an oar: I try to connect with my friends and I see that I am not achieving what I want, but I am revealing negative qualities. And then I turn to the Creator and ask Him to correct this negative. And so we row all the time: one-two, one-two. The first one or two are mine, where nothing works for me, and the second one or two is done by the Creator and are already successful. It is said about this: “The Creator will finish this work for me.”

The first time I try to do and reveal the shortcomings, and the second time I turn to the Creator with these shortcomings and see a successful result.

A ten sits in one boat, and each holds his paddle with both hands. The Gabai sits at the stern and cheers on the rowers, while the Shaatz sits at the bow of the boat. And that’s how we all go.

The first paddle movement is to reveal a flaw. I want to connect with my friends, but I reveal that I am not capable of it. That is, the first time I try to do it myself and find out my impotence. But at the same time, I am aware of my failure, that is, I open the Kli. And in the second stroke with the paddle, I already ask the Creator to help me and finish this work for me.

This is the case every time: the first stroke is the revelation of the lack and the second stroke is the Creator’s help. As a result, we advance in our boat, first making efforts to reveal evil, and then turning to the Creator for correction and revelation of the goodness.

First of all, I must be grateful to the Creator and friends. After all, the goal of creation can be achieved only by tuning into the friends with closed eyes, if they want and can accept me. And the Creator must dissolve me in my friends, unite me with everyone without any distinction between us.

Therefore, I am grateful to the Creator and the friends for the fact that they exist and give me the opportunity to join them, lose myself, and be born again, which is called “going through the eye of a needle.” Nothing remains of me except the net desire, which I drag through the eye of a needle, and so I move from world to world.

Where Does The Number 600,000 Souls Come From?

Laitman_161Question: 600,000 souls, is this a random number?

Answer: No. The wisdom of Kabbalah is the most precise science.

The number 600,000 stems from the structure of the spiritual system. Malchut, the created being, connecting with Zeir Anpin, the Creator, attains His six Sefirot, and is multiplied by the height of the discrepancy between them. The result is 600,000.

But the fact is that there is further division to reach the required quantity because everything depends on the resolution of our emotions, our awareness, connection, and mutual integration into each other.

That Is How We Were Created

75.01Rabash, Article 10, “What Is the Degree One Should Achieve in Order Not to Have to Reincarnate?” (1984): The thing is that we have to know that all of the souls extend from the soul of Adam HaRishon, for after he sinned in the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, his soul divided into 600,000 souls. This means that the one light that Adam HaRishon had, which the Holy Zohar called Zihara Ila’a [upper brightness], which he had in the Garden of Eden at once, spreads into numerous pieces.

There is a state called “one general soul” or Adam. This is a desire to receive, to enjoy, to fill one’s self, to be filled with Light.

In such a state this creature feels itself in the most minimal way because it has been filled quite a bit, like a baby who has been fed, had his diaper changed, lies in his mother’s arms, can smell her, and needs nothing else, he feels good.

The Creator does not wish to leave us in this state. He wants us to attain His state, which is the most mature state, and so He shattered this desire into 600,000 parts (souls), which are divided into an infinite number of sparks of the soul.

Each part differs from the others by its egoistic desire, which does not allow him to perceive the desires of others. There is a huge antagonism between them.

There is a particle of the general soul in each of us. Therefore, we don’t understand each other and cannot connect between us in any way. We can only feel that we depend on each other and that this dependence forces us to put up with each other. As long as I receive a filling in an egoistic manner, some benefit from others, I tolerate them next to me. If there is nothing I can gain from others, then I actually suffer from their presence and try to break away from them. That is how we were created.

laitman_557The Unity of Different Forces

Question: The twelve tribes of the people of Israel were forbidden to mix between each other. On one hand, they were supposed to be united, and on the other, they had to fulfill the ban on marriages between members of different tribes and other prohibitions that are logically against basic unity.

You explained that each tribe, just like a certain organ in the body of an organism, could not mix with the others, but they all worked in unison.

Are the internal laws of the Torah the same as the laws of nature only at the level of society?

Answer: Of course. In general, in all of nature, at all its levels, there are different forces, and they do not become one, but in their connection, they appear as a single whole.

The operation of the entire world system called Adam (Man) was established in order to bring the system to a state similar to the Creator. Then there will be absolutely no difference between the internal connection of forces.

Moreover, within the system, its individual properties, individual forces will be completely different from each other, and their interconnection will be one and only.

It turns out that everything depends on the intention: What is the purpose we are doing this? But the properties themselves do not change; they are always opposite to each other.

Giving Life To The Common Soul

laitman_282.01Question: How are the particular and the general connected? If some kind of bacteria that produces oxygen molecules without knowing it has affected our lives so much, then how can each of us affect all of nature?

Answer: I cannot say anything about oxygen molecules. I only know that absolutely all of nature comes from one source and continues its development. Therefore, whatever new forms appear in nature, they are manifested in the fullest mutual connection with each other.

Although we do not feel this and cannot yet discover and investigate, all of nature is absolutely integral, and there is not a single part of it that suddenly begins to develop by itself.

Question: Thanks to some bacteria that lived for, say, two weeks and produced oxygen, thousands of people live today. Is it possible to assume that the meaning of existence of each of us is to give life to some super-being? Or is everyone’s life important?

Answer: The life of each of us is important because we are parts of this super-being, which is called the “soul.” It is one for all of us.

Why Don’t We Feel The Mutual Connection?

laitman_264.01Question: We are all interconnected with each other and with nature. There are certain chains of relationships.

For example, a collision of galaxies causes the formation of stars. Stars cause the formation of iron. Iron flows in our veins, and our hearts beat from this. It is like we are all interconnected by a common heartbeat.

Another chain: thanks to the photosynthesis of bacteria that lived two and a half billion years ago and formed oxygen, we live today.

Another example: there is a common consciousness. Currently people are being born in whom the baggage of experience, knowledge, feelings of past generations has accumulated.

Thus, we are connected by a common breath, a common heartbeat and a common consciousness. And although we understand this, we do not feel it. What other hidden connections exist between us that we don’t know about yet?

Answer: We are connected in one common soul. Our properties, sensations, experiences, thoughts—all this is common.

None of us have anything personal. The only thing that remains for each of us is to connect to a common soul and feel the system of our complete interconnection. And without this, we feel lonely, as sole beings. But this is nothing more than a false idea of our true condition.

Question: What else are we connected with besides thoughts and desires?

Answer: Absolutely everything. There is not a single cell, not a single thought, not a single desire, not a single motivation, nothing that I would have myself without receiving from others or without transforming through myself into others.

Question: Why do we not feel this?

Answer: Because our egoism disconnects us from each other. Although we are completely dependent and integrated into each other, we do not feel so. Egoism, as it were, takes away our consciousness, and we do not understand that we are in an absolute, complete, perfect connection with each other.

Responsible For Others

laitman_267.02Question: People should be responsible for others. Isn’t that an egoistic thought?

Answer: No. Everyone should be responsible for others because we are parts of one integrated system. So if there is something out of order in this system, then there must be something wrong with me too.

There is nowhere to go. This comes from the fact that we are a single system called Adam.

Make The Plan Of Creation Come True

Laitman_177.06Question: Perhaps all souls are a single organism. But how can we say the whole of humanity is a single organism? What kind of organism is this? How is it connected?

Answer: We are not talking about physical bodies. We are talking about the inner meaning of creation, where it is headed, the purpose it is imbued with, and what motivations act in it on every level.

The inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels of nature have their own inner strength, their own vector. Everything hinges on the direction of this vector, even if we fail to realize that it exists in the smallest grain of sand as it does in a huge, remote part of the universe.

The inanimate, vegetative, and animate parts of nature are subordinate to the human level. If we directed ourselves correctly toward each other, we would suddenly find that all of nature, all the cosmos, change, their objects would become more benevolent toward each other.

We would see that there are no explosions happening randomly, no separation or removal. We would see the meaning of everything that happens in us, within or outside us, in space, in black holes, in everything.

All of nature is not just matter but thought. This thought, on different levels, strives for its perfection, for its realization. This is what Kabbalah calls the thought of creation.

We must try to make this plan of creation come to life so that it reaches its single, final essence, it’s form and realization.

Why Is It So Difficult For Us To Understand That We Need To Change?

laitman_962.5Question: Nature immediately reacted to our isolation. People need to digest and understand this and then they will begin to change. Why is it difficult for a person to do this?

Answer: Egoism locks us in, and that is why I don’t hear, feel, or sense another person. To me, it is something that does not exist. Of course, I can somehow sympathize with him, but still, it isn’t him that I feel, but myself, my perception of him.

This is the problem. Because I feel everything egotistically, within myself, I transform my feelings upon the other and the other’s upon myself.

When we reach the level of perception of the world not with our current sense organs, but rise above them, i.e., we acquire the qualities of the integral world, we begin to perceive the world in a completely new form where time, distance, and movement do not matter, but only one integral system, which is called soul or Adam.

Starting to perceive the world in this way, from this time onward we will be guided by our abilities and actions in a different way.

In One Energy Field

laitman_929Question: Will recognizing that I depend on someone correct something or help someone?

Answer: Of course, because we influence nature with feelings and reason. With them we influence the world around us more than physically.

Therefore, it is very important if we know how we are interconnected. Thus, we can be in a common integral interaction in a single system called Adam so that the calls of the Prophets to become one, as one person with one heart, are manifested in us.

But this is all in the future. Nature sets this as its goal, and it will lead us to this. It will make us understand that we are a single system.

Despite the fact that we exist in separate egoistic protein bodies, we will have to realize that we exist in one single energetic, sensory, spiritual field.
