The Soul Has No Relation to the Body

49.01Question: The human body is an integral system of nature’s creation where each cell works to give and care for the entire organism. How is the interconnection between the human body and its soul expressed as an integral system of nature?

Answer: There is no connection and no need to invent this connection. It simply does not exist! Not to confuse you, but even the body does not exist. We should leave this alone.

We have the perception of a reflection of our soul to start understanding what we are dealing with. But we do not deal with the body at all! If there is a problem with the body, go to a doctor. But the soul is by itself.

The Task of Unification

943Question: We learn that from love for creatures one comes to love for the Creator. It is impossible to unite without the help of the Creator. Does it mean that we first need to contact the Creator?

Answer: We must ask the Creator to unite us.

Question: Should we ask the Creator to build some kind of image?

Answer: You do not need any image! You need to ask the Creator to unite you. Then, as you begin to unite, you can ask Him to unite you even more. Then you will begin to work with Him, study Him, and connect with Him.

The first action is our unification. But for this, we need the Creator. We set the task of unification between us, and the Creator is an auxiliary force that we ask to help us in this. We then turn to Him to connect with Him even more. But until we unite with each other, we have nothing to turn to the Creator with because we do not yet exist at His level.

Question: To whom then do we turn?

Answer: We turn to nature, to the upper force, for help.

Question: What is this nature made of?

Answer: This should not interest you. You just need to get the force of connection.

First, we use the Creator to connect with each other. When we succeed in this, we turn to the Creator in order to begin to unite with Him.

Think about the Future, Not the Past

962.2Comment: I understand that spiritual work helps us go through all our states with acceleration. If we linger for a second in some state, it is simply a waste of time.

My Response: There is no need to think about it. You better act. Otherwise, you will always regret the seconds you lived and why you didn’t do what you needed.

There is no need to focus on this. Think about the future, not the past.

Constant Check

243.01Question: If, in working with friends, my truth differs from the truth of my friend, should I replace my truth with the truth of my friend or combine them into a single whole?

Answer: You must clarify these issues among yourself, sharpen your actions, knowledge, and thoughts so that they come closer to each other, and then you will see what you should do with them next.

Therefore, you should always check your friend’s knowledge and actions.

Question: When we justify our friend and agree on everything with the Creator, is this coming to the truth?

Answer: This is a step forward toward the truth. You must do it every minute.

The Advantage of Congresses

942At congresses, we get together with all our might and renew our spiritual movement toward each other. We try to find out how we can get closer, feel another, completely incomprehensible, unknown person, and establish a contact with him that will be influenced by the upper force.

We can achieve much more at a congress than in my regular ten. I can be very connected to my own ten, but when I join a random ten, we have no past. I sit with people I have never worked with spiritually. That makes it easier for me.

I can wholeheartedly open myself to connection with them without any past superficial impressions. We must try to do this. In spiritual things this is how it should be, and even with your old ten, you can be completely open.

In such cases, it is our egoism that allows us to be more open and closer to each other. I will not have that ten tomorrow, nor did I have it yesterday, so I am in such an open state with them.

Think about it. Overall there are many opportunities at congresses. You can do it if you look for ways to feel your soul merge with a random ten.

If you have no complaints about them, no memories, no promises for the future, this is what always happens in spirituality. Every minute in spirituality you are in a completely new state. Every person is new at every moment. So you owe absolutely nothing to anyone except instant unification with each other and the Creator.

Fulfillment of Desires

608.02Question: When I become a conduit between the Creator and creation, what do I receive from the Creator and what do I pass on to others?

Answer: From the Creator, you receive fulfillment and pass it on to others. Fulfillment is the fulfillment of the desires of others to the extent they wish to be interconnected.

In Kabbalah, we speak only of fulfilling desires to bestow, where you want to bestow to another and in doing so, you are fulfilled. That makes you similar to the Creator.

Bestow to the Friends

934You therefore see that all of Israel are responsible for one another, both on the positive side and on the negative side. On the positive side, if they keep the Arvut to the point that each one cares and satisfies the needs of his friends, they can fully observe the Torah and Mitzvot [commandments], meaning to bring contentment to their Maker (Baal HaSulam, “The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]”).

The law of complete interconnection in the integral system obliges us to receive from everyone and to bestow to everyone. Integral dependence on both reception and bestowal applies to each of us. We evoke the Creator’s pleasure with these actions, which we feel in the light He immediately fills us with.

Question: What does bestowing to friends mean?

Answer: Bestowal is helping friends to support them within the ten in an integral connection with everyone. I must take care of this, embrace them like the mother of small children, and hold them together so that in any condition they connect.

Question: How do I know that I am fulfilling the desire of the Creator and not the fantasies of my egoism?

Answer: To do this, first of all, you must fulfill not your desires, but the desires of others. Secondly, you must only do what a friend needs to support him in the group. That is all.

Questions about Spiritual Work—145

560Question: Can we bring contentment to the Creator through intention alone or through actions?

Answer: Only through intention. Actions do not matter. They can be actions of receiving or bestowing. The main thing is the intention.

Question: How can I understand if my inner work is on the right track?

Answer: Your inner work is on the right track if you constantly feel the Creator and through Him the whole world.

Question: When we work with the sources, we increase concentration on intention, but do not allow the light to enter us. We need to strengthen our intention to learn to control this process. What determines when I will feel this? Is it purity or the efforts themselves?

Answer: It depends on the purity of efforts.

Question: Can we strive to identify whether the Creator receives contentment from our actions?

Answer: We can determine this. Gradually, we will master it.
