The one who learns to tread the spiritual path must become as an empty cup in order that the wine of music and harmony may be poured down into his heart (Hazrat Inayat Khan).
My Response: Yes, he expresses it well. That is true. If a person’s heart, meaning his main egoistic vessel, is empty and can be filled with the world’s harmony, then it is good.
Question: Does one need to empty one’s heart?
Answer: Yes.
Question: But it is full right now. What is it full of, and how can it be emptied?
Answer: If it is, it is full of selfish desires. We can empty it only if we accept all our desires as empty and unable to fulfill us and lead us on the right path.
Question: Can I do this psychologically, or is it more about education?
Answer: It is much more complex. But people will come to this eventually because there is no other way.
Question: So is this the will from above one way or another?
Answer: Yes, the Creator holds us in a way so we gradually understand who we are, in what world we exist, and how we can bring ourselves to the proper state.
Question: Does the Creator have a concept of time: “I will hold them a little longer”?
Answer: Absolutely not.
Question: But what about the fact that we have been held for so long, gone through so many years, suffered so much?
Answer: If we did not feel we were dying, we would be different. The fact that we die drives us into various thoughts, into a dead end, and so on. But, in principle, we are moving toward understanding that there is no death.
Question: And then what?
Answer: Then we will start relating to ourselves, the world, and the Creator differently. It will all be different.
Question: How?
Answer: I do not know if I can express it. It will be all free and simple.
Comment: Let it be so.

Question: How can I understand that my desire coincides with the Creator’s desire?
Answer: You will feel this by the way He relates to you.

Answer: It depends on what the person desires.

Question: Where does the correction of transgression start from? Should we attribute everything to the Creator’s governance or should we recognize our personal flaws?
Answer: You should recognize your flaws.
Question: How do we connect these different points? Who is responsible for this? Did the Creator set me up or was there some flaw in me? What comes first?
Answer: Your initial egoism is the flaw.
Question: Suppose I accept that the root of the flaw is my egoism. What is the bridge to understanding that it was actually the Creator who did this, and that I should turn to Him rather than blame and torment myself?
Answer: Do not blame and torment yourself. You should only stay connected with us, with the books, the study, and the group, and from this, try to reveal the framework of our attitude to the Creator.

Question: You told me how you started working with a small group that could fit in one small room in 1995. Then you moved into a larger room and later bought the current building. Many years have passed since then. Should the building get even bigger?
Answer: I have not even thought about it.
Continue to study Kabbalah, and you will see that you have no questions on this topic because you are at the mercy of the Creator, the upper force. Whatever it gives you, take it and correct it within this framework. Nothing else.
If I have, say, 50 people left instead of thousands, I do not think I would worry because it comes from above. It is not my decision, not my choice. There are people who come and go, and I never take any steps to stop them. Are you leaving? Good luck! That is all.
Why are you worried about this? Worry about the whole world, when we will correct it.
Do not look for any flaws. On the contrary, look for the right way to connect with your friends, to give to them, to receive from them, and to be with them. Work only on unification. Apart from unification, nothing should bother you.

With this collective responsibility, which we need to reach and accept each member of the nation was liberated from worrying about the needs of his own body and could observe the Mitzva, “Love your friend as yourself” in the fullest measure and give all that he had to any needy person since he no longer cared for the existence of his own body, as he knew for certain that he was surrounded by six hundred thousand [a Kabbalistic number] loyal lovers standing ready to provide for him (Baal HaSulam,“The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee).”
In the state of mutual guarantee we are like cells in a healthy organism working entirely for the common body. No one works for themselves. This is the law of integral interconnection of parts.
Any integral, analog system is designed so that each of its elements works solely to keep the entire system in order and does everything within its capacity. As a result, the system is in absolute interconnection, mutual guarantee, and an absolutely stable state. No matter what happens, each element cares for maintaining the whole system and ensures it remains in constant equilibrium.
This equilibrium is dynamic, but it is never interrupted because each element includes the feelings of all others and cares only for their collective existence. No one thinks about themselves, and thus the whole system functions properly. All of nature is arranged and operates according to this principle except for us humans.

If there are ten people in that body, it has ten times more power than a single person does.
However, there is a condition: When they gather, each of them should think that he has now come for the purpose of annulling self-love. It means that he will not consider how to satisfy his will to receive now, but will think as much as possible only of the love of others. (Rabash, Articles “Love of Friends – 2”)
Although a person may not feel, understand, or want it, they must still try to think this way.
This is the only way to acquire the desire and the need to acquire a new quality, called “the will to bestow.” And from love of friends one can reach love of the Creator, meaning wanting to give contentment to the Creator.
In fact, this is a game. What does a game mean? We do not want to give anything or love anyone, but we understand that if we do not attain such a quality, we will remain animals in our world and die as such animals.
Nothing will work out in our life neither for ourselves nor for others. Therefore, if we gather in a ten, it is the only opportunity where we can combine our efforts, desires, and requests, and receive such a force that will lift us above our egoism.
This is the principle of the so-called love of friends; that is, there is no love, but if we connect even our small “agreements,” it is enough to begin rising spiritually.

Question: In our dissemination we explain to people that the world is an integral system that functions like a human body. And they perceive it positively. They agree that we must become a unified system.
What is our next step? Do we need to tell them that they should study Kabbalah or something else?
Answer: We need to explain to them how we can become an integral system. After all, we cannot do this by ourselves, but only if we are affected by the special upper force that is able to unite us.
How can we evoke the influence of the upper force that can unite our egoistic desires so that we complement each other like the cells in the body?
We cannot do this by ourselves.
Each of us is a separate little egoist closed in himself. But there is a positive force outside of us that can do this. And the science of Kabbalah teaches us how to induce its influence on ourselves.
It explains how to get together, try to connect, what actions to take; i.e., how to do everything so that the upper force begins to affect us. This is our mission. We ourselves must learn to use this opportunity and show it to others.
