Question: I remember about six years ago, I had such brief states, like gifts from the Creator, when I could feel something. It is clear that now I have to achieve these states myself, but the ego has strengthened and it is already hard to get it.
Now can I now focus on the sensations of past states and take them as a guide?
Answer: No way! I have known you for years. You are on a different degree now.
The feelings that will come to you are different. The states that you went through once will seem better and higher than the current ones. But that is because you are going into states that are more internal than those.
Once, let us say you were happy, like a five-year-old child playing ball with his friends. Today, you are already fifteen years old, and this is not the same game, not the same conditions, not the ease of joy from the game. Do not mix one thing with the other, live for today.
Comment: It is difficult to refuse past states that are constantly surfacing.
My Response: It does not matter. Do not refuse, but do not cling to the past either.

Comment: There must have been dead ends in your life when you probably wanted to give up on everything.
My Response: If I have achieved anything in life, do you think I did not go through what you still have to experience? Do you really think that any stages were cancelled for me due to some kind of patronage that allowed me to bypass them? There is no such thing in spirituality. It exists only in our world, only in animal states.
Question: How critical was your condition? Did you feel terrible despair?
Answer: Yes, especially in Tiberias where we went with my teacher Rabash and stayed there together. I felt he was ready to give everything, and I could not take anything.
I understood that everything depended on me: I had to spread myself and desire spirituality like nothing else in the world. I used to sit on the balcony of our house at night, smoke two packs of cigarettes, and I couldn’t do anything. Nothing! I understood my absolutely hopeless state.
But what could I do? After all, it was hopeless; that is how this state revealed itself to me. But there must be a way out! There is a way out for every soul. What is the solution for me now?
Question: Did Rabash know about this?
Answer: Of course he knew. It could not be that he did not feel.
A person must go through these states! The teacher cannot do anything. You have to go through them, and he is waiting for you to go through them. That is all, just like the Creator is waiting for this.

Why can brothers hate each other so much? I see that the same thing happens with brotherly nations. It is the same with Israel and the Arabs. You are brothers, you have the same father—Abraham. And you hate each other so much! I have two sons, they are already adults, and I could not reconcile them. I know that they will kill each other when they meet. Why does God do this?
Answer: This is a consequence of our nature, the egoistic nature of our world and of us. In every atom, in every molecule, in every gathering of living particles, everything is built on the idea of suppressing others and being above them. This is nature—absolute egoism.
Question: Is our world like this?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Well, fine, this is my attitude toward others whether close or distant ones. But why brothers?
Answer: Brothers are even worse because inside them hatred for each other is constantly brewing as each subconsciously believes that the other has taken their parents away and lives at their expense. This feeling makes them fight constantly.
Question: But still they are brothers from the same parents. How can this be changed? Are there any methods, steps, or practices?
Answer: No, there are none because this goes back to the very depths of time, to the birth of our world. And so it will continue until we decide to change this world within ourselves!
Question: Now you are approaching the question that was asked at the end: “Why did God do this?”
Answer: So that we will change ourselves.
Question: Does it mean that until each of these brothers works on himself everything is doomed?
Answer: Yes.
Comment: You often say, and Baal HaSulam, the great Kabbalist, wrote that the future of humanity is to become one family. We talk about brotherhood. But we mean a different thing, we mean closeness.
My Response: When the Creator desires it, we will do so. But when we need to act, we see how much nature is against us.
Question: So, can we not do this with our own hands?
Answer: We cannot.
Question: Then what do we need to do so that the Creator would do this?
Answer: Beg Him to change our nature.
Question: Do I need to feel bad because of my hatred for my brother?
Answer: Yes.
Question: But it does feel bad when one hates one’s brother, right? Or not?
Answer: No.
Question: Is it He who makes it so that I feel bad from this hatred?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Are you putting everything on Him? Let Him deal with it?
Answer: On whom else?
Comment: If everything is on Him, it makes us feel disheartened. We cannot do anything. Let Him deal with everything, and that is it.
My Response: You can ask.
Question: Do we, in principle, have only one job—to ask?
Answer: To ask the Creator.

Question: You said that you need to ask the Creator to manifest Himself as kind and doing good.
But we are talking about working in faith above reason, i.e., not asking for some good attitude toward ourselves. Or is it still possible to ask?
Answer: You can ask, but as soon as you feel the Creator a little, after this you should look at what other corrections you need to make to reveal Him.

Question: What does it mean that the ten should measure the result of their work in the Kli of bestowal?
Answer: The extent to which the ten progresses in the Kli of bestowal is the extent to which it measures its advancement in spirituality.
A sign of real bestowal in the ten is the revelation of the Creator within it.
Question: How can we determine our collective readiness to meet the face of Shechina?
Answer: The tighter you all feel together in the ten as one person with one heart, the closer you are to the face of Shechina.

Question: What is perfection?
Answer: Just as the Creator does not exist in our senses now, so the creation makes itself non-existent in creation. So together the Creator and creation discover themselves in each other, and perfection manifests itself.
You can see that a person takes up little space. You just feel it. He may take up a lot of space in his spiritual influence, but as a person in this world, he does not take up much space.
He does not push, does not rule, does not control life. If you want, you can make an example of him, if you want, you can be next to him, or not. He does not extend himself to you or put pressure on you. But if you want to be in contact with him, do so.
Comment: But at the same time, when you connect with him, he presses.
My Response: But that is already you who connected to him. Why did you do it? To reach a higher level through contact with him. So now you have to yield to him. But this is your will.
Question: Is this what choice is?
Answer: Sure, if you want it.

Question: If women can influence men with their inner voice, if they are so omnipotent, why don’t they exert their influence to somehow ease the world’s suffering?
Answer: This is a common problem for both men and women. But if women wanted to, they could certainly change the world. They would turn their husbands around so much that they would inevitably become righteous and make the world different.
Question: But will this ever happen? What does it depend on? What is missing?
Answer: It depends on men and the Creator. We men need to ask urgently and constantly act in this direction.
A woman can also act. It is much easier for her to do this because she can ask through her husband.
