Priority Is Given to Spiritual Desires

559Question: What saturation threshold in the material is characteristic of those people who come to Kabbalah? Is it low or high?

Answer: All people who study Kabbalah are different, but, as a rule, they are not very eager to fulfill the desires of our world.

Question: Do material needs decrease or increase in the process of spiritual advancement?

Answer: It is impossible to say for sure. Some people stumble on the small selfish desires of our world and must first overcome them and then grow. And some do not care: “Let the desires of this world remain next to me, and I will deal with spiritual desires.”

A Place for Faith

237Question: What will help a person feel the need for faith? As a result of what does it arise?

Answer: The need for faith is given to a person from above. And by virtue of feeling this lack in oneself, one goes further.

Question: How can I make room in my heart to accept the power of faith?

Answer: Where you used to have a place to feel the Creator, you now want to create a place for faith.

The place to feel the Creator is the place where your attitude to the ten, to the entire world Kli, manifests itself.

600.01Question: What kind of miracle can we ask the Creator for?

Answer: The miracle of obtaining the force of light above reason.

Question: You said that a person should give what comes to him from the Creator to everyone. Is my good intention alone enough to pass on what comes from the Creator to my friends? Or is it a prerequisite to include their desires in yourself?

Answer: The inclusion of friends is very important. This is the only way to unite in the ten.

Question: How can a person evoke the need for faith himself, so that there is a true prayer?

Answer: Ask the Creator for this.

Question: Can a person feel love for his neighbor only by being rewarded with complete faith?

Answer: No, not necessarily. Even at the very beginning, when one begins to climb the steps a little, a person can already ask for another and connect with him.

Question: How can you not enjoy bestowal? Where should this pleasure be directed?

Answer: You should not keep the pleasure of giving to yourself. At the same time, you work within your desires and see how your desires receive this energy and exist thanks to it.

The Limitations of Science

222I started studying Kabbalah in 1976 when I was 30 years old. Three years later, I came to Rabash. But even before coming to Rabash, I started to read The Book of Zohar with the Sulam Commentary, studied the Introduction to the Wisdom of Kabbalah and other sources. I could not understand anything, but I was already trying to figure them out.

When I came to Rabash, then everything went along the same line. Before that, I sort of went through everything myself: science, philosophy, religion, and I saw that all that was just a delusion, absolutely everything, including science!

They lead a person astray from the right path to the goal of creation, to the meaning of life. So what if I find out how two solutions mix and what happens as a result? Nature around us is a huge sphere; I will scrape some properties, some knowledge, from it a little bit and study what I have scraped together. Am I going to do this all my life? Well, I will scrape together a little. And why? As Einstein said: “Like a little boy, I collect pebbles on the ocean shore.”

All great people have also asked these questions. And the most important thing that pushed them forward was the comprehension of the basis of the universe, its integral formula, that is, the connection between all its parts—what it is for. The whole connection: these X’s, Y’s, Z’s, and so on, what is inside the formula, equal to what? The meaning of life!

“What is it? Will I comprehend it or not?” Science will not give man an answer because he works with his brains and his properties like an animal that begins to scratch the ground with its hoof and sniff what it has found there. So much for science!

Moreover, I do not detract from its importance at all, but simply say that it is necessary to understand its limitations.
