Question: There is a psychological attitude called “postponed or delayed life syndrome.” This is when a person perceives his life as a draft or a rehearsal before something big and meaningful, which will come later in the future, as if people are going to live forever.

There is an example of a senator who wakes up and suddenly prestige and political success no longer are important to him, despite the fact that he is a politician. He really wants to enjoy life: have breakfast with a friend, be in the company of his wife, and read a book or a magazine.

What happened? He was diagnosed with cancer. Is this really the only thing that can prompt a person to suddenly wake up and start living?

Answer: Of course! Undoubtedly! When he is certainly promised a close end, everything else just disappears from the horizon and loses its importance. Everything.

Question: Does everything that was the most important thing in life suddenly become vanity? Is this the kind of fear we should experience?

Answer: Of course! Precisely! It is like Woland said in The Master and Margarita. One cannot escape that.

Comment: Actually, this does not really say why the mind is given to us, to Homo sapiens (wise men).

My Response: It is only so that we realize that this is how we live. As soon as the end is clearly known to us, then everything other than the end can no longer interest us.

Question: Do we suddenly start looking for real values when we know the end is here?

Answer: But what can we find if the end is here?

Comment: This senator found some simple truth.

My Response: Go for a drink, have a meal with friends and with a woman, and so on. All this also happens after the reassessment of these events and values. Therefore everything loses its taste. There is nothing left here but to live every second that you have so that you feel less pain. That is all.

Question: And more enjoyment?

Answer: He just needs drugs and that is it. Switch off calmly, my friend.

Question: Then what do you call a true moment that was lived correctly, with dignity?

Answer: I am not in favor of living for just one moment at all. That is not my philosophy.

My philosophy is that life should consist of such moments constantly, from moment to moment, again and again. Then it will be possible to think that this cancer, or some other fatal disease, or the end in general, which everyone has by the way, are not important. And then a person will clearly understand what is given to him, why, for what, how he should live it, what to leave, and what to do with himself.

Question: What should we invest in these moments? Let’s say I agree with you: live every moment and prepare for the next moment.

Answer: Elevate yourself above your animalistic nature and as quickly and brightly as possible,  more effectively achieve the quality of bestowal and love, which does not relate to our world. And thus, as they say, prepare yourself for the future world. That is all. It will be a very effective use of this world, this life, for the sake of the future world and the future life.

Question: Do you think that when a person is given such a limit, called an “incurable disease” or something, it is done precisely for this?

Answer: Yes, for this! It is necessary to prepare people who will serve these so-called unfortunate. I do not consider them unfortunate. I believe that they have been given a great opportunity to correct themselves, change themselves, and raise themselves to the level of the next world.

Question: To the level of this love?

Answer: Yes. May they enter it with no problems.

Question: Does it turn out that those who remain in this world that burn it with the pleasures of this world are the unfortunate ones?

Answer: Yes. The others can already rise to this in advance! Suddenly they see there is no disease. Then the question is: Why did I do all this? 🙂 Someone deceived me so meanly.

Question: Yes. The doctors will say, “My dear, everything is fine with you.” Is this such a trick that the Creator does with a person? Are you really for such tricks?

Question: How can you see the Creator in all obstacles?

Answer: Only a group can help you with this, which must keep you in this state all the time.

But how can you decipher what comes to you? How can you work with an obstacle? First, we study it, and then a person goes inside himself.

Why do we conduct workshops, talks, have questions and answers, and read articles? After all, they describe all our work. Of course, when a person goes through various states, he begins to understand that this is something that he has not previously imagined.

But then, by reading the primary sources in each new state, he begins to understand what it was about. This is always later, he does not feel it in advance, and then he sees what is written in them really happens.

This is the highest psychology, a gradual, gentle transition to the next level, to the next dimension. Or do you want nature to do what it usually does? That is, a species dies out, and another appears in its place. This could be so. Today we are faced with a choice.

Question: Why do we begin to understand and realize everything later and not immediately?

Answer: If you knew in advance, you would egoistically want to go for it. How is that possible?! And now you understand with your new thoughts and mind. Question: Can we, once we have passed through various states, talk about them?

Answer: We do not talk about past states, we do not discuss them. We discuss only our means of connection in order to reach future states because they are common to us.

Let’s say you and I are at the eighth level of development and should ascend to the ninth one. Therefore, we are theoretically discussing how we can connect with each other because we do not yet have these qualities. By doing so, we do not interfere with each other, but, on the contrary, support each other in how we should be interconnected.

We are not yet working with our new qualities, we are not showing them to each other, and we are not interfering with each other’s spiritual work. We only, as children, play the next state,  how can we connect with each other. When it comes and is implemented within us, then we begin to understand it. We are not talking about it anymore; we are talking about the next state. But never about the past!

As we progress, the evil inclination, the power of egoism, comes out more and more harshly each time so that, in the end, we do not know what to do. It is as if a wall appears in front of us over which it is impossible to climb. And in the end, we come to the Red Sea, to the stormy, angry waters that are ready to swallow us up and cut us off from life.

Thus, we begin to feel all the forces of nature, but when we overcome all these states and include them in ourselves, we become stronger, and this is what our progress consists of.

However, it is said that if “The sons of Israel believed in the faithful shepherd Moses properly, they could hear his voice and be saved from the Klipa of Pharaoh.” This means that there is still some chance to get out, but the question is whether they use it or not.

Like in mathematics where negative multiplied by another negative yields a positive, it is also like this in spiritual advancement when leaving Egypt. If the majority of the group wants to work for the Creator for the sake of bestowal, then they can oblige Him to help them.

From heaven we are never given half; it is necessary to achieve the full measure of the revelation of evil, and then help from above will come in its entirety. Therefore, we can complain and make claims, but until we make the full measure of effort necessary in our state, there will be no breakthrough. And only when we put the last coin in the basket of efforts, then the Creator will help us achieve the goal.

Question: Does the relationship of hierarchies between people change, for example, between you and students?

Answer: It is hard for me to say because, on one hand, I treat everyone as a student. On the other hand, internally, I treat them as friends. Here arises a problem of connecting to me as a teacher on one hand, and the difficulty of expressing myself as a friend on the other hand.

Now, I am gradually trying to do this, but I am afraid that in doing so I will fall in their eyes, and they will disregard me a little like one who is closer to them. This will complicate their path, they will accept less from me, and appreciate less. This is the way man is. I am afraid that by doing this I will not give them enough strength to move forward.

Therefore, I have to shout, push, show an example, and demand. If I am on par with them, then what will be an incentive for them? Will it be just that they value each other and value me above the fact that they see everyone as equal? It is very hard.

That is, I need to show myself as an image that they should respect. This will give them a driving force.

Question: Baal HaSulam descended from the high level of understanding at which he was in order to explain the Kabbalistic methodology in simpler words. How did it happen with him?

Answer: I do not know. It is as if you jump from a chair to the floor, and someone jumps from the stratosphere. This is a completely different technique I have not yet attained at all.

I study Baal HaSulam at my own level, not at the one he is at. His level is unknown to me. I know only what he wrote about himself. If he had not written, I would have said about him: “Yes, he is at a high degree, but I do not know where.” After all, any upper degree feels like infinity relative to the lower one. You cannot measure it in any way with your instruments; therefore, it is infinite, without end, and without boundaries.

Question: Did Rabash tell you about his father?

Answer: No. Both Rabash and Baal HaSulam are unattainable to us. These are the greatest souls! The fact that we are connected with them and receive directly from them is, of course, a great fortune. For this, we must constantly be in a state of gratitude and awe!

The world has become so small that everything is close. Wherever you go, the same hotels and the same things are everywhere: squares, towers, houses—anything else except maybe museums.

I think everything is advancing toward the fact that tourism will drop. Firstly, because there is a crisis, there is no money.

Secondly because everything is on the Internet. You can also take a walk near your home. It seems to me that all this will change. We have built a huge number of hotels. I’ve been thinking for a long time: what will become of all this? Everything will be empty.

Question: But is tourism, in fact, the pursuit of various states?

Question: Why don’t we remember how we were born? Why don’t we remember those torments? We subconsciously know that this has happened, but we cannot associate ourselves with it.

Answer: We can. We can go back and see ourselves being born in our mother’s womb. But what for?

Comment: Because in spirituality it probably gives a certain range of sensations.

My Response: There, as in our world, you feel and realize what you need at every moment and nothing more.

Question: Does a Kabbalist clearly remember the stage before the Machsom throughout all the steps?

Answer: No. Is nothing taken away from him and nothing given to him? Is he not inside a system that calls him according to a certain program? And how does he know the next step and what he should be in it? He does not know it.

Comment: I mean the past, suppose before the Machsom he remembers all this.

My Response: He may not know. It may fall out of his current sense of awareness. Just like you do not remember what happened a week ago on a certain day at a specific hour. And you can be reminded of this and, very seriously, to that extent that you will shudder.

So it is in Kabbalah. Not everything is open before you. Reshimot (informational spiritual records) rise and fall, rise into your consciousness or disappear again inside, and you do not use them.

Of all the great Kabbalists of the past, Baal HaSulam is the most universal. He presented Kabbalah in a scientific style, in a language that links both the ancient language, the ancient biblical approach, and the scientific, psychological, Kabbalistic approach. He interconnects it all. He made an amazing revelation!

I can’t stop admiring how he turned everything around, took it, and opened up everything! Before him, everyone was beating around the bush and did not know how to convey the methodology as if they were tasting it. But he opened it up!

Of course, he can be compared with other great Kabbalists, but in the sense of revealing Kabbalah, he certainly made an amazing step forward!
