Ready For Flight

Question: Conflicts in Israeli society are becoming more severe because the ego of the politicians has grown and puts personal interests above social interests more and more. During the last military operation, the matter has produced a “short circuit” between the representatives of the authorities and the various agencies responsible for national security. How can this be handled?

Answer: The system has not been fixed. Achieving real changes must begin from the people and from its education. Only through social change can we change the government.

And today our leaders reflect the situation of the nation. We live in an egoistic society in which each one thinks only about personal benefit. We are not connected between us; we don’t feel that our fate depends upon unity, by being “like one person with one heart.” We are not concerned about the security of the nation together since first of all each one is trying to provide security for himself.

Moreover, many people are ready to flee to some place where it is possible to get along better. The main thing is that such a thing will be possible for them, and the fate of Israel is not important to them. If you were to give people the opportunity to get along anywhere in the world that suits them, just about nobody would remain here. According to surveys, half of the younger population would want to leave. And regarding the other half, they would stay here out of habit. And in the meantime, those who advance in the leadership of the nation are people possessing even more prominent personal interests.

Exposing The Ego

Question: If we were to support changes in society, what kind of a society should it be?

Answer: We cannot live and develop here if we don’t become the true people of Israel living in the land of Israel. This is talking about two concepts that we must approach and realize.

“Israel” means “Yashar-El.” In other words, all of us connect among us according to the principle “And you shall love your friend as yourself” and we direct ourselves towards a higher power.

The essence of the upper forcer is the force of love, unity, and mutual bestowal. We must aspire to this. This is not connected to religious or secular beliefs. This belongs to connection, the essence of which is formulated in the great and essential general rule in the Torah: “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”

Question: All of us have heard about this. But the ego has grown and grown, desires run wild and a person no longer sees anything outside of himself. So how is this old saying connected to people like us today?

Answer: This saying is eternal. From those days until today, this condition has not changed. And precisely in our day people are ready to see and discern how their growing ego is digging a grave for them. The ego indeed grows, but now the person sees where this leads. He sees that in front of him is only an abyss.

A New People – New Leaders

Question: In a museum of one of the Israeli leaders of the last century, the room in which he lived has been renovated, a small place with a simple chair and a table of a meter and a half. From there he led the nation. So how is it possible to speak about connection in our day when the nation is shaken by outrageous scandals and the leaders acquire luxurious houses? Where will the love come from here?

Answer: From despair. Ultimately we have attained nothing. Those leaders with the penthouses, their expensive apartments, and all the rest of the wealth and luxury feel dependent. That is how an ego that rises to the heavens plays with us. A person is compelled to steal; this need motivates him. He feels that this is not the goal, this isn’t life, and in spite of it all, he is not ready to do anything. He simply cannot avoid stealing, cannot avoid lying, because that is his nature.

So what is to be done with him? After all, it is clear that this way leads all of us to oblivion. Is it worthwhile to bring the matter to a new Holocaust, to World War III, and so on?

Everyone understands this yet nobody has a method that makes it possible to be saved from our internal enemy, which is the ego that pushes us towards theft, lies, forgeries, schemes. The truth is that nobody enjoys this, but everyone is compelled to take a bite out of the general pie and try to arrange a warm and safe corner for himself.

Yet in the world of today, no secure corners really remain. So security will come to us only by way of changes in society, in humanity. These are changes that will bring unity.

In the global world we must be so connected that each one will feel the others as himself. The wisdom of Kabbalah was revealed for this, providing a solution to problems and explaining what must be done. It is up to us to adopt it, and with its help, approach correction of the world. The time has come to consolidate everything into a unified system, a single family.

Only integral education and information will raise general interests above personal interests. The leaders of today are cut off from the people. And there is nothing to demand from them or from the people. Gradual education will bring about changes among the people and this will then produce people from whom it will be possible to educate new leaders.

Baal HaSulam, Article 69, “First Will Be the Correction of the World”: And the root of Israel is from the interior of the worlds. This is the meaning of “for ye were the fewest of all peoples.”

However, by correcting the interior, the exterior is corrected, too, though in small pieces. And the exterior will be corrected each time (until many pennies accumulate into a great sum), until all the exterior is corrected.

We know that the source of the four phases of the Ohr Yashar (Direct Light) is the root phase, the Kutzo Shel Yud (tip of the letter “Yud”). In continuation, there was “Yud,” a full Kli, Hochma, the first phase. Then the second phase came, Bina, the first “Hey.” After that there is the third phase, Zeir Anpin, (ZA), “Vav,” and in the end, there is the fourth phase, Malchut, the lower “Hey.”

In general, in the course of development, bestowal becomes reception, and after that, returns to bestowal and returns to reception, and in the end, into the desire to receive. But in the development of the Kelim there exists a particular threshold, that before it, to the level of Keter (K), Hochma and the first three Sefirot (Gar de Bina) the development had to be from above to below without any reaction, without any activity from the side of the Kli.

The truth is that the first reaction was created between Hochma and Bina, the desire to resemble Keter. But specifically Bina received the conscious decision that it wanted to be like Keter, so it acts like it, constructs the desire to receive, and bestows to Keter.

In this way, there are Kelim that resemble the action of the Creator within which He bestows, these are “Galgalta ve Eynaim” (GE), and there are Kelim in which what the Kli decides in the middle of Bina takes place, and these are called AHP. And the decision point is the middle third of Tifferet.

According to this structure, Malchut begins to be constructed and to resemble all the previous phases (=) and is itself divided accordingly into ten Sefirot; it constructs the ten Sefirot of Ohr Hozer (Returning Light).

Malchut is built within the inner point (•). The circle closest to it is Galgalta ve Eynaim and the next circle is AHP. That is how the Kelim are divided.

With the Shevira (shattering), the differences between Galgalta ve Eynaim and AHP are erased, since everything is shattered, pulverized, and mixed. But in the correction of this gigantic “block” of Kelim, we begin to raise them with the help of Ohr Makif (OM) (Surrounding Light) that illuminates from a distance, and the first Kelim that were included in the process are the Kelim that belong to Galgalta ve Eynaim because they are more refined.

These Kelim that are more attracted to the Light that Reforms are revived more quickly. So they are called Israel (Yashar El), yearning for the Elyon (the upper). They are “lighter” than all the rest of the Kelim because they belong to the levels of the Aviut (thickness, the desire to receive) of the Shoresh, Aleph, and Bet. And this is the smallest desire to receive about which Baal HaSulam writes and calls them “Pnimit HaOlamot”-interiority of the worlds). And after that, the turn of the “nations of the world” to be corrected comes.

So it is up to us to correct the Kelim that belong to Galgalta ve Eynaim. They are specifically important to us, for if they were corrected on the egoistic account and decided to build themselves starting from the “middle third of Tifferet” and on, then the Kelim of AHP could connect with them, those who are themselves not ready to carry out any correction because they were not prepared directly from the root by the Creator, rather they were created as a result of the decision of Israel, the Galgalta ve Eynaim. So they depend completely on Israel , and they come to Israel with complaints in every situation.

So it turns out that if the Kelim of Israel don’t make the corrections that are incumbent upon them, they are blamed for the Kelim de AHP not being corrected yet.

The most important book we have for studying creation is Talmud Eser Sefirot (The Study of the Ten Sefirot). This book is written in a very special way. It has 16 parts, and the first part explains the world of Infinity (circle), where the circle is created by the influence of the Light.

The Light that created the desire fills it and determines everything in it. Therefore, the desire resembles the Light in its form and is under its total control. This state is called the “world of Infinity.” Part two tells us about circles and lines. A circle is created by the desire, which is converted into the line. This line, like a “pipe” that conducts Light, becomes like Him, and fills the circles. This action is performed from the lower towards the upper, which means from the created being who wants to resemble the Creator.

Generally speaking all of creation is created from above by the Creator. The egoistic created being fills the world of Infinity through pipes or through lines. This is how it is built.

Baal HaSulam, Talmud Eser Sefirot (Volume 1, Chapter 1, Part 5): The reason was that since Light of Infinity was completely even, it had to restrict itself evenly on all sides, and not restrict itself on one side more than on the others.

It is known in the wisdom of geometry that there is none so even an image as the image of the circle (200). However, this is not the case with the Meruba (300), with the bulging perpendicular angle, the Meshulash (triangle) (400), and all the other images. For that reason the Tzimtzum had to have the form of a circle.

We feel every revelation of the Light that comes from above, which means that the Creator influences us since He created everything. Every revelation of this force affects us in the form of a circle. In other words, this affect is totally equal on everyone. We have to understand that everything comes from Above in the form of one Light that affects us in a unique manner. There is no preference of certain desires over others in the influence from above.

There is a desire on the level of the still, vegetative, and animate nature. There are also many different people, groups, and different types and kinds. It makes no difference how they divide among themselves or which ones are unique, the Creator treats everyone equally. The Upper Light fills everything.

It never changes with regard to anyone in any way. Everything stems from the upper direct Light that fills everything. This is what is said in Talmud Eser Sefirot.

Everything that happens to us already depends on the response, on the development that awakens in the desire. The desires change according to their attributes, according to their intensity and their make-up. The desires are different and they integrate with each other. There are many desires, attributes, qualities, etc. in each of us, and although the Direct Light affects them all equally, each of us responds differently.

Interestingly, to the extent that a person can receive the Light, he can also respond to it. For example, if someone is smarter than others, his work is also greater since he is cleverer and he understands better and therefore also has to invest his efforts relatively. If someone is stronger than others, he should also do more than someone else who is weaker, since the power was given to him on purpose. But there is no difference in the way the Light regards each of us in its specific, private, and subjective manner.

Everything is calculated in a very simple manner; each of us has spiritual genes, Reshimot (reminiscences), which determine the effect the Light has on us and reveal to us the existence of the still, the vegetative, and the animate nature and human beings. The Creator affects each of us equally, and if a person feels unhappy or overwhelmed, or if he is under a positive or negative influence of fate of the Creator, of life, or of something else, he simply needs to search within himself a little. Then he will realize that he isn’t any different from anyone else in the attributes that he has. The Creator treats everyone equally and there is no injustice in His attitude. Besides, His attitude is absolute goodness, as it is said, He is “the good and that does good.” But where do we see that? It depends on how we fulfill our attribute under the influence of the “good and that does good.”

The problem is that we don’t want to learn, to make an effort, and to grow according to His influence. Increasingly greater negative attributes are accumulated in us from one generation to the next. Eventually we witness very unfortunate outcomes. Although the infinite Upper Light illuminates unto everyone equally, filling everything, we drown in it, and feel so uncomfortable and unpleasant because we find ourselves in attributes that are totally different from the attributes of the Light. The more positively it influences us, the more and more negative are the feelings that awaken in us because we feel increasingly more opposite to it.

There is the system of correction that is meant to correct this state and to teach the created beings to resemble the Creator, to raise them to the level on which they will know and attain Him, connect and reach adhesion with Him. It was given to us as the method of correction, in the form of the wisdom of Kabbalah, as exercises, workshops, and other models called integral education or the wisdom of connection.

What does this method lead to?

We perceive the world through our senses and if we begin to perform certain exercises together similarly to the actions of the Light, the circle, then even on our lowest level, if we simply and mechanically want to resemble the Light, it is enough in order to get close to it, without understanding and without wanting anything. It is because now we are not just opposite from its attributes, but we also try to resemble it somehow. If we attain equivalence of form with the Light, it affects us internally. This equivalence of form is called line (Kav).

Talmud Eser Sefirot, Chapter 1, Item 1: These lines are like a thin “pipe” through which pass water and applies Light to the higher worlds.

Every connection we reach with the Creator goes through this so-called pipe (tsinor), through the line. We try to resemble the Light, although we are totally opposite from it. If we try to turn ourselves into a circle that is similar to the perfect circle of the Light of Infinity, it is as if we connect our two circles in the pipe. In reality there are no pipes and circles in this world and it is all about the level of connection between us, about the compatibility between us, and the Upper Light. Thus, it should be clear to a person that if he tries to do it by himself, he will simply not succeed in anything. It is because he doesn’t form a circle with anyone and it is therefore impossible. There has to be at least two people.

In addition, we know that the Upper Light builds itself in relation to the desire that it has created through the ten worlds, which means through gradual changes. It builds the desire under the influence of ten levels, and so if we want to resemble the Upper Light, it should be among at least ten people. This is because in our world a man symbolizes the attribute of bestowal, and the woman symbolizes the attribute of receiving, so the smallest circle (Minyan) is ten men who connect. A physical circle is our physical gathering when we get together in a circle trying to fulfill this corporeal form by the relations between us. This means that we annul ourselves with regard to the others and connect, incorporate into one another, and each one receives the deficiencies of the others as if they were his own.

Then we connect into a chain that obliges each of its parts to be incorporated in all the other parts, and to be committed to them and to depend on all the other parts.

Baal HaSulam says in Part 2 of Talmud Eser Sefirot that Malchut of the upper becomes Keter of the lower. Therefore Malchut connects every upper with its lower, which means that there is an equivalence of form between them: Malchut of the upper connects with Keter of the lower, and thus a connection between the ten Sefirot of the upper is established with the ten Sefirot of the lower; a connection between all the levels from the world of Infinity until the world of Assiya where our world is as at the lowest level of the world of Assiya.

Thus, ten Sefirot are connected and then another and another according to the Kav. There are a total of 125 such levels and each one is made of ten Sefirot. Together they are call Kav (line) and this is the only way that the connection between the vessels and the Light of Infinity is established.

Only the Light of Infinity operates in all of reality. This is the only place all our desires ascend to and it is only from there that all the actions that we spur by our deficiencies descend unto us.

The connection between all the circles (Igulim) with each other goes through the line. Only through it is it possible to operate the system of the upper worlds so that it should influence us. It is only through the line that we can influence our reality, which we don’t feel or see now. At the moment we feel only the matter that is on a level that is lower than ours: the animate, vegetative, and still nature, and we don’t feel anything other than that. We don’t understand ourselves; we don’t feel our spiritual essence, and we don’t perceive what is beyond that at all. If we want to feel that, we have to take into account that the only connection between the circles is through the line.

Therefore, our mutual incorporation during the workshops should be so that I absolutely feel the other. I swallow him with everything he has got. It makes no difference what attributes, feelings, actions, or intentions he has or whether they are positive or negative. I am totally incorporated in him and he is incorporated in me.

When this incorporation takes place, each of us already annuls his ego by that. We already ascend and restrict ourselves according to the first restriction. That’s it. Now someone else is working in my place and I work in the place of someone else and have exited myself at least for a few moments, and have already performed a spiritual action. What is more, there is also mutual incorporation here.

Why should we understand all that? In order to begin to change and to feel what we are doing so that we will be able to examine ourselves and develop correctly. After all, every action that we make in the spiritual world, even the slightest action, leads to a response. We have to understand this connection and to activate it.

Baal HaSulam says all of creation in all its manifestations is entirely defined in advance according to the same goal: to develop out of this total creation the human race, which will be raised in their properties until you can feel the Creator as well as experience of others.

Therefore, we have to focus ourselves on working with others as if we focus ourselves on the Creator exactly the same way. Why? Because as long as our inner attributes are not focused on the attributes of the Creator, we will not begin to feel Him. So how can we focus on Him? Where is the tuning fork or other parameters of distance, power, weight, etc., which we can use in our world as the standard for that? With regard to what can I focus myself in order to get close to something?

I don’t see the Creator. I cannot measure whether I get closer or further away from Him in my particular attributes. What is more, my egoistic attributes lead me in different directions. If they take me backward, I could know that I have to constantly resist them and then I would know whether I was advancing or not, but I am constantly thrown from side to side not knowing how I should act. This means that in addition to my lack of desire to advance against my nature, I also don’t know how to do so. Therefore, I am given the right conditions: to focus on my friend and thus focus myself on the Creator. It is through the friend, as it says ” from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.”

Baal HaSulam says in his article “The Teaching of Kabbalah and Its Essence“: that all orders of creation in all its manifestations are entirely determined in advance according to the same goal. These are all the rungs of the ladder by which the human race develops and climbs up to the purpose of creation. These two realities are explained in their every detail in the wisdom of Kabbalah.”

We must understand that. To the extent that we can feel the others and not ourselves, which means other people, despite our egoistic desires, we will be able to feel the Creator. Others refer to those who are closer to us as “The Middle,” since we feel them and cannot lie to ourselves with regard to them. I can say that I love the Creator, that I want Him, but these are just words. However, with regard to others, I cannot say that because I feel no attraction to them and have no illusions. In that case I realize that I only worry about myself.

It is exactly at this point, in the initial phase, that our method called integral education or the wisdom of connection appears. We sit in a circle and by personal example gradually focus ourselves on being incorporated and on mutually getting closer by different exercises games and other means. We draw the Upper Light unto us to the extent that we connect in the circle and focus ourselves on the line, and the Upper Light influences us.

Interestingly this is an accumulative process. No matter what we do, it means that we already do something. One more little effort and another, and thus time and time again, nothing is lost. Everything that we do in our world, in our ego, is swallowed and disappears. But everything we do above our ego enters the line, which we focus on the Upper Light, and these lines remain.

Each time I am incorporated in the circle, in the workshop, I turn myself from a big round egoist, from an egoistic chunk, into a certain line and connect to the Light. Another small line, another small pipe, and then another and another… thus I turn myself into many such lines, and gradually as these lines accumulate the feeling of the force that operates in me, the force of the Creator is created in me. This is a gradual process. It invokes the influence of the Light through the pipes unto my egoistic chunk, and then it begins to perceive some of the different changes that come from the Light. Accordingly different feelings and realizations are created in me. I exit myself and begin to influence and to participate with others in a more focused manner. Thus, a person gradually changes.

Therefore, we need exercises just like in any other field: in studies, in sports, etc. We need a lot of exercises. It is like a musician who practices from morning till night playing the different musical scales. It is the same thing here; there is nothing we can do about it and it is preferable to do it 24 hours a day. Diligent musicians practice all the time. A circus artist is busy practicing all day and an acrobat does nothing but work on improving his performance.

It is the same with us! This is how we should tune ourselves. It isn’t an instinct but the influence of the Light. We have to get used to the fact that we cooperate this way all the time, even if we are in a circle. There is no other way of reaching “from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator, which means to establish inside us the attributes of the upper world. We have to make a real effort and pay close attention so that we will not end our life like other people. All our work is to reach the feeling of the Creator through the feeling of others.

Rabash says in Letter 42: And we should understand how can they be as “one man in one heart,” since we all know what the sages said, “just as their faces are different from one another, so are their opinions different from one another,” so how can they be as “one man in one heart” if they are different in their attributes, desires, and intention to begin with? And Rabash answers: If we speak about the fact that each one worries about his own needs, it is impossible to be as one man since they are different from each other. But if they all annulled themselves and each one cared only about the benefit of the Creator, so that there are no private opinions any more, and all the idiosyncrasies are annulled, and they all enter a single domination. Thus we connect on an upper level.

This means that our only goal is to ascend above our bodies and to connect by different exercises. Everyone has one spiritual body, one soul. Baal HaSulam says that only one soul was created, which means Malchut of Infinity, one desire. We are incorporated in it and ascend above our separate egoistic bodies, and while feeling ourselves, our bodies and the states of the still, vegetative, and animate nature, we feel our world. It is because according to our egoistic concepts, this is what is perceived by our uncorrected desire, and therefore, this is how we feel our reality.

However, when we begin to correct ourselves, we begin to feel what is beyond the levels of the still, vegetative, animate, and speaking nature and begin to feel the connections between them. Later, when we ascend above these connections, we already begin to feel our world. Then the separation that we felt disappears and so do the connections and everything merges into one drop, into one whole body.

Question: If the Jewish people are not yet ready to unite, how will redemption come to the world?

Answer: We begin from ourselves. The Upper Light works through Bnei Baruch, which is among the people of Israel, and the people of Israel are found among the nations of the world. The Light does all of the corrections. The Light can work only on condition that there is something corresponding to it.

So if we reach unity, the Light is found within us. It doesn’t even come from above, it is simply found everywhere, and it is revealed in us thanks to our equivalence of form.

Through our actions we are linked to the people of Israel; with this we transfer Light to them. And after that, because the people of Israel are connected to all of the nations of the world and influence them, the Upper Light passes to them also.

So first of all, we, Bnei Baruch, must be united. Then equivalence of form with the Upper Light makes it possible for us to have contact with it.

There doesn’t have to be unity like this between us and the people of Israel because we already influence them from our Kelim, and through our Kelim, they receive the Light. So there must only be a particular degree of connection, agreement, and integration with us here.

And between the people of Israel and the nations of the world there must be some kind of understanding that we are found in one world and one system, and from this anti-Semitism is derived, a unique attitude towards the people of Israel and also the system of correction. If the people get the general idea about this system and connect with us a bit, this is enough for the Upper Light to pass through them.

Every time in the descent of these spiritual levels, a correlation is formed between the Kelim and the abundance that spreads in the relationship from the higher to the lower and from the lower to the higher. And generally this is what we talk about in our dissemination.

But the main thing for us is specifically our unity with the Upper Light. Then it will spread, will awaken a response in the people, and the people will begin to speak with our words, will agree with us, will be ready to go with us. All of the work is done by the Upper Light. Let the Light work and it will stream like water that penetrates into the soil and reaches each and every place to water anything that a person grows in the ground. Then on the way it will also fulfill us, will connect us into one. In what way does it do this? That is its business that is its work; this is the work of the Creator. We must only work on connection.

Question: If so, must we go out to disseminate externally?

Answer: If we don’t get the deficiency from the people, their desires, their problems, if we don’t take it and raise it up to ourselves, we will have no need to connect with the Creator. We can sit and study the sources for a thousand years and it will only be theory. As long as we are not integrated with the people, the desire to connect will not be awakened in us. The desire to connect is awakened only from the deficiencies that we get from people, and from these deficiencies, we can present the MAN, the request for correction.

So if you think that you want unity now, this is not true, this is not the right unity. The true unity is possible solely and only if you go out to the people, sweating and working with them on their connection. Only from there will you receive a true imperative to connect.

Question: Does this mean that if we truly unite, all of humanity will automatically be changed and we will not need to do anything?

Answer: Yes. If only the Bnei Baruch group changes, the people of Israel will be changed. And if the people of Israel will be changed to a particular degree, all of reality will be changed, all the peoples, all of humanity. That is how these three circles work. But each one depends upon both the higher and the lower. And without the deficiency of the lower, you cannot reach the higher.

So we must work with the people of Israel so that we will have a need to connect together and be like the Creator. Through the people of Israel we must go out to all of humanity so that for us there will be a need from humanity to turn to turn to the people of Israel, and from the people to ourselves, and from ourselves to the Creator.

All three of these levels must work as one. Therefore we work on “three fronts.”

Question: How can ten people contain the information about the whole universe?

Answer: You don’t even need ten people for that, another person beside me is enough. The main thing is that I should exit myself. I perceive the world, reality, with my senses. I either perceive the internal reality to the extent that I can contain it or perceive it in an opposite manner the way it is on the outside and exit myself.

Then the Masach (screen) on which I see the picture of the world is no longer inside me but on the outside. I now measure everything on the outside with regard to others. This is called “love thy friend as thyself,” which is an acquisition of a new sense.

Question: This is probably a qualitative change in our perception and not a quantitative one?

Answer: Of course! I exit myself and live there. This is how I perceive the true reality that is external to me. I don’t distort it by the corruptions in me and thus don’t see it as distorted.

I can either perceive all of reality only in my tiny vessel, as if using my tiny pipette to draw from a vast ocean of information and perceive only what it can contain, or I may exit this tube and contain the whole ocean since I have exited myself.

Question: It turns out that I remain with this tiny tube.

Answer: No, I simply acquire a new sense by this tube that is external to it. Thus I perceive everything there is in the enormous ocean.

Question: Don’t I need to acquire many tubes for that?

Answer: We have to simply exit it and leave the pervious egoistic perception. This means that you acquire ten whole Sefirot, and even if they are very small, they are external to you and this is enough to begin to feel the spiritual reality.

We never perceive the true reality that is external to us, but we develop more and more and get closer to the real picture. This indicates our ascent up the spiritual ladder.

Question: Why is a group of two people enough in order to feel the true reality that is external to me?

Answer: If many people connect and are ready to unite, it is easier for each of them to exit himself. But it is also possible for two to do it if they are together. There are cases when a person manages to attain the spiritual revelation all on his own, but it is very difficult. The more people there are who support you and who try to do it together with you, the easier it is to fulfill it. It is best when there are at least ten people.

Then you begin to see reality outside your body, which means in the Returning Light. It is not inside you but outside that you merge and integrate with the external reality.

Question: Do the stars tell what my own fate will be like? What is so special about the stars?

Answer: Nothing! These elements, the stars in the sky, are constant, and from day to day, from year to year, from epoch to epoch, over the centuries, they go through the same cycles.

Therefore, we can calibrate the position of each of them at any point in time and connect it to our birth, a wedding day, or other events, or make a conclusion about whether to fight or make peace, and things such as that.

In essence, the sky is the time axis in which we exist. Therefore, it is not difficult for us to determine the movement of the stars where we are located. Clear and unchanged laws exist here.

Therefore, based on the date and place of birth, and the date and place of birth of parents and the positions of the planets at this time, you can see how nature affects us. After all, this effect does not come from the stars. Still, vegetative, animate, and human levels of nature are all on the same map within the same system.

Therefore, according to the law of nature in the still level, that is, according to the movement of the stars and their combinations, we can say that we can influence what is happening on the human level. And even though man and the stars are very distant, the system itself is one.

This is why there are signs on the map of the heavens. Based upon what has been observed for thousands of years, we can say that we can suffer damage or succeed in a particular case, with respect to this or that person or a couple going to get married or entering into some sort of a deal. To some extent, we can imagine this.

It is written in the Torah, for example, that Haman was a great astrologer, and Abraham himself once studied astrology, selling idols and amulets.

The problem is that ordinary people do not have the possibility of a reverse impact on their fate. In order to influence one’s own destiny—that is, the higher power—only one that knows how to do it can do it from the bottom upward.

Kabbalists are the only ones that can accomplish this. As it is written in a very famous saying of the sages, “Israel is above the stars and signs of good luck.” In the wisdom of Kabbalah, it is written how we can connect with each other, to be prepared for it not only to protect ourselves, but also to rule over our own destiny and rule over our luck.

Then, I look at the map of the heavens that the wisdom of Kabbalah reveals to me, and this map reveals the stars and the signs of good luck to me, the so-called Mazalot, the “drops of luck” (from the Hebrew word Nozel, or drain). These are the special lights that fall upon us drop by drop from a higher system, Rosh (head, brain) Atzilut, and influence us by forming all sorts of phenomena at the bottom, within us—the current and the forthcoming ones in the future. All of these forces are called signs of good luck (Mazalot).

Spiritual Weapon

Question: Is there such a thing as magic? Do we have the possibility to use supernatural force in order to change our reality?

Answer: No. The actual concept of “supernatural” must be reset. If we are talking about what lies above our being, then we can correlate the entire natural phenomenon to this realm.

We cannot influence the movement of Earth and other celestial bodies. However, we can calculate them. Thus many things have crossed from the mystic into the scientific realm.

However, there are still so many facts unknown to us, the roots of which slide away from our perception. In this area we are still weak; we are still standing before nature that we cannot figure out in advance. Meanwhile, a person yearns for security; he needs a “guarantee policy” against all threats.

This is where magic comes from. First, magic provides us with security against threats including enemies, that now a person can confront armed with a spiritual weapon. Second, it is an opportunity to start the attack, to establish one’s superiority, to cleanse the area of wrongdoers that stand on one’s path.

Supernatural for Sale

This is where many people make promises by claiming that they know how to do magic and will assist only if their services will be paid for.

There is black and white magic. If the first one is to cause harm, then the second one, in its turn, promises to help. Such a division, however, is purely arbitrary, just like children when they play bad and good people. A person feels weak before the forces that determine one’s life. A person would want to control one’s own fate and, therefore, comes to see the people “in the know.”

Besides all of this, the death of our bodies really scares us, as well as the unknown ahead. What will happen to my soul? Where will it end up? Can I escape hell and ensure I end up in heaven? This also causes a huge worry upon which others can make good money.

Question: Does this mean that there is no magic?

Answer: No, however, the problem is that everything that we refer to as the inner world of a man is associated with our psychology. As a result, a person can be influenced in such a way that it may seem like magic to one. In that regard, this happens to many believers.

There is nothing you can do about it because such are the properties of our psychology. Ultimately, everything comes from ignorance.

Question: Do the stars influence the personal fate of a person?

Answer: Such a connection exists. But it isn’t the stars themselves that influence humans, animals, or plants; rather, according to the changes in the position of the stars we can understand which correspondent changes are happening on the levels of vegetative and animate. This doesn’t mean that one influences the other, but according to changes that happen in the heavens, on the level of the still, to which we pay attention, we decide that we must be changed too.

But the stars themselves are not the cause of these changes. It is not on the level of the still. It can remain absolutely hidden from us. But it influences the stars, plants, and people. We don’t see the real cause, and so we have no choice except to link our fate with the stars.

Thus humanity has learned throughout all of its history, from experience. They paid attention to particular plants that followed the moon. Others followed the sun. There were those that opened in the daytime and others that opened at night. From this astrology was born.

Astrology is based upon experience that human beings gathered. Over thousands of years they watched the phenomena of nature in the heavens and on the face of the earth and discovered how one depended on the other, how everything was connected. They constructed records, tables, and pyramids in South America and in Egypt. But all of this teaches only about the mutual connection of all the forces of nature that human beings discovered.

Even people who lived 10,000 years ago had already discovered that our world is global and that all things in it are linked to each other: human nature, the plants that are around him, the animals, nature, and the weather. Everything is connected into a single whole and in every part there are signs of all the rest of the parts, so much so is the system integrated.

Question: How does it follow that in ancient cultures this connection was already known, but because it didn’t since then it wasn’t developed and was even lost? Don’t we get the impression that the ancients were more developed than us?

Answer: The ancient people were more developed than us and were closer to nature. They weren’t afraid of nature; rather, they lived within it and so they understood and felt it. They understood nature better because they attributed everything that was happening with them to it. They connected their entire lives to it: The life of the family and their children, the nature of the person, everything that happens within the family and the community, the weather, the behavior of the animals, and the state of the crop yields in the field.

For them this was one world, and from this perspective, they were more advanced than modern man. Through the development of technologies we have detached ourselves from nature and have stopped respecting and valuing it, feeling it as our home. We will soon have to return to this perspective.
