Sanctify Yourselves And Be Holy

laitman_534The Torah, “Leviticus,” 11:43 – 11:45: You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping creature that creeps, and you shall not defile yourselves with them, that you should become unclean through them. For I am the Lord your God, and you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, because I am holy, and you shall not defile yourselves through any creeping creature that crawls on the ground. For I am the Lord Who has brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God. Thus, you shall be holy, because I am holy.

If we use all our desires properly by correcting them, we will attain the level of holiness, complete bestowal and love of others.

The sentence: “For I am the Lord Who has brought you up from the land of Egypt” often repeats in the Torah because a person can come out of his ego only under the influence of the Upper Light. We only need the desire for that.

All the chapters of the Torah tell us about serving the Creator, about spiritual laws, about the revelation of the ego in all its forms, and about the correction that follows. The ego can be expressed in any language: in music, in drawings, and in dances, anything.

The main thing is that we should understand it correctly and correct it with the help of the Upper Light and use it correctly, in love and bestowal. Then we will be like the Creator: “For I am the Lord your God, and you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy.”

Correcting The Dead Desires

laitman_571_08The Torah, “Leviticus,” 11:36: But a spring or a cistern, a gathering of water remains clean. However, one who touches their carcass shall become unclean.

If a carcass, a corpse, falls into a spring of water, it still remains pure.

By the way, water in which there is a corpse was considered healing water. There used to be a purification well in the cemetery where the holy ARI is buried, a water hole where they used to wash the corpses before burial. People used to come there especially to dip in that water to get well. Therefore, they closed that hole.

There was a popular belief that it is very helpful to wash with the same soap that the dead were washed with. This means that these are the means that correct even the dead, that is, even a dead desire.

We Need To Pray For Everyone

laitman_624_02_0Question: How do we direct ourselves correctly at the time of reading The Book of Zohar to heal all the problems of every individual person, the people of Israel, and the whole world?

Answer: It is necessary to pray, to ask, to be integrated into the pain of the people closest to us and also those who are far away. But we don’t pray for a particular person who is sick, but for correction of the general illness that is revealed before us now through the problem of a particular person.

One should pray for general correction, because what we see is only a particular expression of the general problem. This is how the prayer must be organized.

Question: Why is a prayer for everyone more practical than a request for a particular person who is closer to my heart?

Answer: A request for a particular person is closer to your ego. On the one hand, you are stimulated more by what is closer to you. But on the other hand, what is the difference if the desire to bestow is bestowing to someone close or someone far away?

There are no limits to the Ohr Hassadim (Light of Mercy); it extends to all places with the same intensity. So why do you want to pray for someone in particular?

We know that everyone is connected with everyone and there is only one soul. So every defect that is revealed in someone is the result of the general illness. So how is it possible to heal a particular person without healing the general illness? It is necessary to pray for everyone.

If you are ready to correct everyone through your prayer, then the person in whom you saw some kind of illness will also be healed. Otherwise this doesn’t work. After all, we are in a global system, a single system. Suppose that someone is sick with the flu, you cannot heal just him; rather, you must heal the epidemic throughout the world because it is a general system.

It cannot be that there is a defect in one place, even if it seems to us that we see only one damaged component. The damage is not only in him, but also in the whole system. And only in regard to you is this presented as a defect in a friend. You must take care of society in general, and the particular problems that you see are only a response to the common problem. An isolated component doesn’t exist in any form, not in me or anyone else. If I see it, it is an indication that the system is sick.

We see this in the world. If we want to correct some part of the government or the society, then nothing will help because we don’t approach this correctly.

The Roots Of Anti-Semitism, Part 5

laitman_202_0Question: There are many legitimate claims toward Israel in the world. Do you think the reason is anti-Semitism or anti-Zionism, the political difference of opinions?

Answer: The reason is not different opinions. People don’t want to be connected to Israel and to the nation of Israel, but they can’t erase their identification and stop being a Jew. However, at least, they can make every effort to prevent being declared as a Zionist. They can deny Zionism, but they can’t run away from their Jewish origin.

Question: However, they have specific claims toward Israel regarding politics, policy, and the privileges of man.

Answer: The anti-Semites camouflage themselves with justified claims. An anti-Semite can’t confess that he hates me because I am Jewish, so he finds excuses that justify his hate.

If Jews would realize their role on the globe—if they would come back to mutual love and show an example to the entire world, all of humanity, and realize the plan of Creation—then they would become a positive force in the world, but now they are a negative force.

Question: If the Jewish nation would return to love and bestowal, what would have happened to natural anti-Semitism?

Answer: If we would return to love and bestowal, and teach the entire world, then we would become the “light for the nations of the world” and anti-Semitism would disappear because the nations of the world would feel from inside that finally the Jews are doing what they must do.

The nations of the world don’t know the role of Jews, but they will see that the Jews must teach them how to use the second force of nature, the altruistic force of love, that can correct and calm the entire world and raise them to another degree, to bring them to the spiritual dimension, to an eternal and complete world.

Question: What would happen then to the natural hatred that is in the anti-Semitic heart?

Answer: He would not feel hate. To the contrary, he would feel love and gratitude toward the Jews because they exist and teach him. The nations of the world want to learn from us.

Through their claims that all problems come from Jews, they actually want to say that they can’t do anything against the Jews. They are only 0.2% of the population, but look at how many problems they are causing everyone. No one knows what to do with this nation.

They are scattered around the globe, but because of them, there are only problems. Everyone is worried because of Jews. No one speaks so much about the Americans, although, in quantity, they are millions, and only a few million are always in the center of the fight.

However, this situation can turn completely to the good side. The nations of the world will feel that we are the teachers that teach them how to live better, and that is what they expect from the Jews.

Listen to what they tell us: they claim that all the evil in the world comes from the Jews. Actually, it can be translated to other words, “We are weak and the Jews are strong. Look what they do with us. We are small and they are big because they can destroy life in the entire world. They are in total 15 million, and see what they cause to seven billion people. Can it be? However, this is exactly what is happening, and we don’t know what to do with them.”

The nations of the world tell us that they are weak and depend on us. And if we will not show them what we have, if we can show them through personal example what we have, then their attitude would change immediately.

If we want just to pass it to them, it will not work. They would think that again we want to cheat them. Therefore, first we need to arrange a good life between us as an example to all the rest of the world. This is called being a light for the nations of the world. The nations of the world will want to learn it from us. We must be “a kingdom of priests,” in other words, the worldwide ministry of education.

We need to decide quickly what we will do.

When The Dream Comes True

laitman_214Question: People love to fantasize about a better life. Some indulge in these sweet dreams all the time, escaping reality and living in a dream.

Can a person develop the ability to stay in the midline and properly connect the positive and negative forces of nature, like Jacob and Joseph, about whom the Torah tells? Will he have the opportunity to imagine the desired picture of the future and actually achieve it?

Answer: This is possible if a person develops a very strong desire for some goal, defining it as the goal of his life. It is only necessary to find out from where he suddenly gets such a strong desire. Perhaps, he is in this world with a special mission.

The purpose of one person is to become a great doctor, the other – a prime minister, the third one – to achieve high spiritual development. Such aspirations come from our very root point, called the point in the heart. It awakens in each person his respective desire to become somebody.

We can also get these aspirations from the environment, as if by chance having found ourselves under a certain influence. There are plenty of people around us; however, everyone is impressed by something of his own. All this data we get from the general program of nature.

Question: If there is a higher program that determines my fate, how can I change it so that the future is the way I want it to be? How can I make my dreams come true? How can I change this hidden program?

Answer: Everything that is written in this program is going to happen nonetheless, whether you know about it or not. The general program must be realized. And how do thoughts come to you every second, how do people appear with whom you come in contact, how do things happen? All this takes place according to the general program. We operate within it, like obedient puppets.

But if we want to rise above this program, we need to reach the level at which the forces that control this world act. Today, the science of Kabbalah allows us to do this, but it requires a very strong desire.

My Comment: Perhaps this offer will seem tempting to most Israelis, but even if such a decision would be taken, the upper governance will not allow it to be realized.
