The Direction of Evolution
At some point, the above mentioned Academician Vernadsky described this topic very concretely:
Evolution of species transitions to the evolution of the biosphere. (1)
Academician V. Vernadsky gave this new stage of evolution a name:
“A new degree of the biosphere that we approach without even noticing it is called a noosphere.” (2)
A lot of time has elapsed since then. Sciences continued their development. The issue of evolution has tremendously advanced since then. It is quite easy to check it out. For that, it’s enough to find the newest official definition of evolution.
“Evolution – derives from Latin “evolutio” – deployment. …
In a broad sense, the term evolution denotes the way people cognize social and natural processes, their internal motivations, order and developmental patterns.
Evolution outlines a state of a system that undergoes certain modifications over time as compared to its prior state; it delineates results of the process of adaptation.
In a narrower sense of the word, evolution is a set of gradual, steady changes (as opposed to revolution.)” (3)
To be honest with you, I always had a difficult time with this definition as well as with any other definitions that I ever found in all sorts of dictionaries. This definition proves only one thing: evolution is the result of some changes or of our understanding of what these changes might be.
It makes room for despair! For billions of years this permanent process continues unfolding, but what do we know about it? Only that it goes on.
Of course, it is not an easy task to figure out when it started. However, we can at least determine where it is going and share our ideas on its possible directions.
Even a poet agrees with this concept:
“There is a history in all men’s lives,
Figuring the natures of the times deceased;
The which observed, a man may prophesy,
With a near aim, of the main chance of things
As yet not come to life, who in their seeds
And weak beginning lie in-treasured.
Such things become the hatch and brood of time;
And, by the necessary form of this,
King Richard might create a perfect guess
That great Northumberland, then false to him,
Would of that seed grow to a greater falseness;
Which should not find a ground to root upon…” (4)
And yet, I managed to find some information on this topic.
Dear scientists! Please pay attention to what contemporary scholars endorse: evolution is aimed at overall unity. Thus, science too proves this hypothesis.
“Irrespective of the multiplicity of life forms that are found on Earth, life per se is unity that is conditioned by the evolution of the Earth.” (5)
In the same source, scientists indirectly confirm the legitimacy of the notions that are described in this book. It’s already a good sign.
“Important conclusion: there is no such thing as ‘single,’ ‘absolute,’ or ‘perfect’ method of exploration of the evolutionary process.” (6)
That being said, I’d like to finish this chapter on an optimistic note. Things are not as confusing as they seem. Sometimes, in order to comprehend this idea, it’s enough to put away the microscope and look at things with the naked eye.
“Go and ask a botanist how many phases the fruit undergoes from the time it becomes visible until it is completely ripe. Not only do its preceding phases show no evidence of its sweet and fine-looking end, but as if to vex, they show the opposite of the final outcome.”
The sweeter the fruit is at its end, the bitterer and more unsightly it is in the earlier phases of its development.” (7)

The Torah, “Leviticus”, 16; 18-19: And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.
The work on the level of Aaron (the priest) is sublime and very serious work in revealing all our attributes, desires, impulses, mind, and thoughts, in terms of with what we can work in love and bestowal for others and with what we cannot. What is revealed here by a person as to what is going on isn’t simple at all.
Each of us needs to reach the level of the priest in order to divide these desires. The Torah speaks only about one person, since the whole world is included in one force. Therefore, I have to rate and differentiate what all the parts the Torah tell me and to understand precisely that I must gradually establish all the corrected vessels inside me.
I leave Babylon as a person who wants to attain the meaning of life and go to the land of Canaan as I reveal all my desires, thoughts, and impulses inside me.
Then the state of the land of Canaan begins to bubble in me by drawing me into the egoistic swamp. This means that I have gone down to Egypt, where I try to break out of myself by constantly focusing on love thy neighbor as thyself.
Eventually, when I begin to fight with myself, with my ego (Pharaoh) and my altruism (Moses and Aaron), I go to the desert (an empty place). Here I am told: “Gather all your desires with which you can advance. If you manage to do so, you will be able to receive the Upper Light on them, which will lead you forward and you will be able to move in the desert.” I am already advancing in the desert here.
The main thing is the slight awakening that emerged in me in Babylon, which is gradually covered by a very big ego that is gradually corrected in the desert. Babylon is the beginning, the thought and the goal. The ego that emerged in me is the exile in Egypt. In the desert, however, I work with an enormous, four-phase ego in order to bring it to a neutral state. I don’t want to be in it, I want to be above it.
All this is the revelation of my attitude towards the ego. It is like a huge black ball, and I clarify what I can illuminate in it under the influence of the Light, one piece, another piece, another, and then another. These are the forty years of wandering in the desert.
Each time I discover a variety of things and decide that I can ascend above all these new desires I have discovered in this phase in the desert so that no egoistic fillings will bother me. The Light and greater pleasures are gradually revealed in them, while I am above them, working only in bestowal, outside myself.
There are desires that I know I will not be able to overcome for sure. Then I send them to the desert, which means that I cannot make this desert my home, my shelter as yet, and so part of my ego remains in the desert.

Question: Why did Israel return from unity to the previous division just a few days after the external threat disappeared?
Answer: This happens instantly, no inertia acts here. Unity does not cool down gradually but disappears in an instant. Either we keep our connection, or it collapses.
Question: So, it turns out that we came back from the front and bomb shelters to our homes and schools, but there will be no rest?
Answer: If we do not hold this connection, we will have no rest. On the contrary, an even greater threat will come to push us to unite. A threat on Israel’s northern borders, and special intifada in the territories are beginning to form.
We will not be able to avoid threats if we do not unite. All the problems at the external borders occur only because we fight a mutual war with each other. If we do not want to achieve inner peace, the war will come to us from the outside.
Question: What can we do to avoid the next missile attack?
Answer: For the first time, the nation felt that it lacked unity. We can no longer remain in this state. First, the former president, then other influential people found themselves in prison. This indicates a very serious, continuous, and increasing degradation of society.
But all this happens in order to bring us to the realization of evil. We must understand that if we do not unite, we will continue to deteriorate and fall until we lose everything. We have no right to exist in the land of Israel if we do not achieve unity among the people of Israel.
To be the people of Israel means to be one man with one heart, or at least aspire to this, seeing in it the only form of existence for the whole nation. If we do not see this, then we have no right to be in the land of Israel.
No one in the world wants to recognize this right for us. Year by year, we will feel that we become more distanced from the rest of the world, and more ignored. We will be like Typhoid Mary, whom everyone avoids because she is dangerous to others.
In the end, the whole world will come to us not only with demands, but also with real threats, with weapons in their hands. If the whole of Europe will side with Gaza and begin supplying it with weapons, what can be done about it? We cannot confront the entire world. It is known what happens to a country that does not what to bow to the rest of the world; it becomes completely isolated and declines.
For the time being, the world is not interested in us, as it is busy with problems in Ukraine, Iraq, and the formation of new terrorist groups. But soon it will end, and Israel will once again be the main focus of the entire world. There is no other place, country, or nation that is more hated than Israel. Everyone hates us by common consent. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the cause of this hatred and draw conclusions from it.
We will no longer be allowed to live from one military campaign to another, nor pay for the possibility of a break in the fighting for a couple of years with the lives of our soldiers. We must understand why this is happening and show everyone an example by our unity.

Answer: The belief in the teacher means believing in what he says and performing his recommendations without questions.

Because on the spiritual path your eyes will always be closed, you will always follow me. They will be opened when you ascend to your next degree, and you will be rising to your next degree with the eyes closed again. This is called “faith above reason.”

Who Is Closer To The Teacher?
Question: We have to take the deficiency of the masses and bring it to the group so we can direct it to unity. How do we reconcile this with the situation in the Ukraine where there is a war now?
Answer: You cannot do anything about it. It is the general egoistic state of the world that is now being revealed in different places. We cannot even imagine how many wars are going on now. Nobody writes or speaks about them. Is everything quiet in Afghanistan? No. In Africa people are killing each other and everyone keeps quiet, and there are other hot locations in the world!
There is the general ego that we cannot balance at the moment. We cannot hasten our altruistic evolution to match the pace that the ego develops. Therefore, the negative events in the world develop much more quickly than the positive ones. We try to change things, but we cannot catch up with it yet. I hope that this year we will begin a routine of normal balance.
What we see are normal, rigid, accurate laws without any interference on the Creator’s part. Stop imagining some upper will. There is a force that is one constant law in itself; there is nothing but that!
There are no regrets and no sensitivities. The point is that we formulate everything through our feelings in a corporeal language, but in fact the Creator, nature has no feelings! We only depict Him by using this world’s words in order to somehow convey the spiritual method.
Therefore, everything that involves the state of the Ukraine and other places on the globe is the result of imbalance between the right and the left forces. There is nothing we can do, we have to act and try to balance them.
Question: But how should we relate to them?
Answer: Only by disseminating the goal of creation, unity, connection, and nothing but that. Everything else will lead to nothing. We have reached the point in history where the correction has to be fulfilled in either a good way or a bad way. So there is nothing we can do because there is a very rigid, accurate law that operates here.

Question: The latest military crisis in Israel undermined many of our firm convictions. We were confident in the strength of our army, but became convinced that we would be not able to use it to protect ourselves from the threat. Now, it is obvious that the agreements between the governments do not guarantee any security.
Answer: Modern warfare is of a different kind. There no longer the life we were used to. The old foundations, approaches, objectives, principles, and means do not work. This happens not only in Israel but around the world.
Just these questions are not so crucial around the world. But in Israel, which is located in such a hostile environment, it is a matter of life and death. Therefore, we must be sensitive to change.
The people of Israel must understand its purpose and why this is happening to us: what the purpose of our existence is, what the nations of the world require of us, why they blame us in all their misfortunes.
We must explain this to everyone, and first of all, to ourselves. Our nation does not understand what it is and what the mission of the people of Israel is, that it must serve as a model for unification of the whole world.
Only the Jewish people have the knowledge of how to unite. After all, this readiness is already incorporated within it. Every Jew has a special gene because once, in the time of the Temple, our people existed in spiritual unity. We already lived as one man with one heart, accepted this condition for realization.
Today, we must show an example of this unity to the entire humanity that needs it so badly. Only we can do this. I am glad that for the first time the nation felt that it really wants and needs this.
This deep impression was left in us as a result of the last war. I don’t think that it will disappear. It will be less, but it will remain in each Israeli, and it will be possible to awaken this need for connection.
If the nation is already seeking connection, then it needs to know on what it depends and how it can be achieved. No one really imagines such a relationship where we are constantly connected with each other and how we can come to them.
Indeed, it is not achievable. One has only to look at himself, his life, neighbors, and it immediately becomes clear that this is a complete utopia and it cannot take place. Even if you kill me, I am not able to connect with others.
It is beyond human capacity, and even more so among the Jews. We can be very close to each other when this is beneficial. But in real life, when it is not required, we are in no hurry to connect. Therefore, we need a method, a science of unity, which is called the wisdom of Kabbalah.
This science is hidden within us, within the Jewish people. We have already been merged with it in the days of the Temple; we lived as one man with one heart all the time after leaving Egypt and before the fall of the Second Temple.
Today, we need to return to this method. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed so that we realize it within the people of Israel and teach this method to the entire world and become “a light to the nations of the world.”
