A question I received: What is your take on President Obama’s recent speech in Cairo?

My Answer: Such cliché-filled speeches are a hallmark of any leader.
Everyone wants to open a new page, to restart relationships based on common interests, mutual trust and respect. To conduct an open dialogue, everyone needs to have the same rights and opportunities, aspire to peace, and what’s left is for us to do it together, etc., etc.

It’s written in the Bible “The hearts of rulers are in the hands of the Creator” – in other words, all of them are puppets, carrying out His will. Simple people are the ones who have freedom of will, they are the ones that can influence the Creator, and He, through his presidential puppets, changes the world.

The subject of the science of Kabbalah is how to influence the Creator. Up until now we had to develop egoistically. From our time and on, we have to unite together into one society. With such understanding, we must turn to the Creator for help to achieve that – then the world will become peaceful and kind.

Questions I received about loving your neighbor, God as an illusion, and angels:

Question: Can we say: “Love your neighbor as yourself”? – Love him as if it’s you, since he is you: ultimately, when all the souls connect in you? And that is the Creator. Or is my interpretation wrong?

My Answer: Until the final correction when all the souls become corrected and merge into one, differences between the souls do not disappear; the connection is built despite the disparity.

Question: Why do you need God? Why are you chasing after an illusion?

My Answer: There is no God! There is Creator = Nature = law of bestowal and love, that we attain in our corrected state.

Question: I have a question about Kabbalistic interpretation of the Jehezekel prophecy. Many “scientists” view images in the prophecy as evidence of existence of aliens. How do Kabbalists interpret, for instance what angels are in this prophecy?

My Answer: Angels are forces of bestowal that act between souls.

In the news (from Jpost): “Israel 141st out of 144 in Global Peace Index” Only three countries in the world are less peaceful than Israel, according to Global Peace Index figures released this week… Israel is positioned 141st out of 144 countries, fourth from the bottom, with only Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq ranking below… The report uses 23 indicators to determine the existence or absence of peace, such as respect for human rights, military capability, potential for terrorist attacks and perceptions of criminality in society.

My comment: Antisemitism first appeared in ancient Babylon with the establishment of the first Kabbalistic group started by a Babylonian priest named Abraham. Hatred is a result of the fact that this group operated under a different system, one of bestowal and mutual love. By the appearance of this Kabbalistic group, the world first saw a part of humanity that was under the direct influence of the Creator through a force similar to Him, that of bestowal and love. This is opposite to the naturally egoistic force under which everyone, other than the Babylonians, operates, as the non-Babylonians took the path of the development of egoism

There are two parts of humanity. One is Israel which aims itself toward the attainment of the Creator’s qualities. The other is the Nations of the World who develop under the influence of natural egoism and are in opposition to the higher forces of development. This is where hatred stems from.

Hatred will be eliminated only through the correction of all humanity. This must happen during the remaining 230 years of a total of 6,000 years of humanity’s egoistic development.

In the News (from BBC): Military spending sets new record – Global military spending rose 4% in 2008 to a record $1,464bn (£914bn) – up 45% since 1999, according to the Stockholm-based peace institute Sipri. “The global financial crisis has yet to have an impact on major arms companies’ revenues, profits and order backlogs,” Sipri said.

My Comment: The progress is evident. However, no one threatens anyone. Military race is needed only to have an opportunity to steal. Wars are needed to get rich on military orders. The entire game boils down to pumping out the state’s funds into someone’s personal pockets. The race will stop only with the beginning of egoism correction. However, until then the race will only grow, in fact, race will stop only with the beginning of egoism correction…

In the News (from The Wall Street Journal): “White House Set to Appoint a Pay Czar” – The Obama administration plans to appoint a “Special Master for Compensation” to ensure that companies receiving federal bailout funds are abiding by executive-pay guidelines, according to people familiar with the matter. The administration is expected to name Kenneth Feinberg …to act as a pay czar for the Treasury Department.

My Comment: Firms’ executives continue to assign themselves payouts in billions of dollars. And they are right – who shows them a different example, since the government does the same! The egoistic feast goes on! Then – “after me the flood.”

Increasingly, biologists are finding that non-genetic variation acquired during the life of an organism can sometimes be passed on to offspring—a phenomenon known as epigenetic inheritance…The main question now is: How often does it happen? “The analysis of these data shows that epigenetic inheritance is ubiquitous …,” write Eva Jablonka and Gal Raz, both of Tel-Aviv University in Israel.

My Comment: This is precisely what Kabbalah states: our environment influences our thoughts and desires, which in turn influence our behavior, and our behavior alters the genes of the following generations. See Baal HaSulam’s “The Freedom.”

It turns out that our thoughts and desires shape our offspring, and over the course of many centuries a human being becomes a consequence not only of the original genes, but also of the way of life (the thoughts and the desires) that his ancestors chose for themselves.

Biology illustrates to us the fact that Kabbalah is not a theoretical science, like philosophy. It is a way to selectively change ourselves and the world.

A question I received: How can we distinguish true bestowal from egoistic bestowal?

My Answer: Until a person becomes worthy of the revelation of the Creator, his bestowal is purely egoistic, i.e. for his own sake. Just as when we perform a service for another person, we consider what we will receive in return. Further, we consider our profit: the gain from the bestowal must be greater than the loss!

However, even if people begin to give and help each other in this manner, while also taking into account each others’ interests, this mutual (albeit egoistic) bestowal will give us the opportunity to feel the benefit in mutual aspiration towards equal goodness, balance, acquired confidence, and we will begin to value the quality of bestowal on its own merit. The resultant act of bestowal will become less important to us, unlike the sense of this quality, the positive realization of it in ourselves, and the positive feeling from bestowal itself.

Furthermore, if a person receives something good from some source (action, deed, or from another person), he or she begins to love and admire the source itself.

Therefore, people will value the quality of bestowal, which gives them vitality, support, and confidence. They will want to acquire this quality and come closer to it. Consequently, the Light that reforms will come to them, and they will understand that it pays for them to give to each other. This is called “go and earn from each other” in the true, non-material sense. By striving for a good life, society will begin to respect bestowal and thus reveal the Creator.

A question I received: When a person feels bad, he usually puts the blame on those around him. This could be his wife, his friends, his colleagues, something in the system, etc. When will people begin to understand that the cause behind everything is not the banker or some other human factor but the third, nonhuman force? It is similar to Hollywood movies where everyone looks up at the sky to see a great monster menacing the entire world…

My answer: “The enemy lies within the flood.” This is how it is revealed to a person. When his suffering is still small, he is satisfied with blaming himself or others. As the suffering increases, he descends along all the levels of his selfish desires and in the last of them, discovers that all of them came from the Creator. Such is the progression of the development of desires.

This is why even the greatest scientists who rise higher than others in their understanding of matter come to the notion that there is some sort of intelligent force, a higher intelligence that governs matter. Dealing with things that are strictly material, these people do not generally believe in supernatural powers. But it is precisely by dealing with these matters that they come to such conclusions.

This force lies within us. Man will continue to discover that the entire world lies within him. The science of Kabbalah speaks of this in the article “What Is Reality?” This is how it will be revealed to us.

In the News (from Rush University Medical Center ): “Having a Higher Purpose in Life Reduces Risk of Death among Older Adults” – Possessing a greater purpose in life is associated with lower mortality rates among older adults according to a new study by researchers at Rush University Medical Center. After adjusting for age, sex, education and race, a higher purpose of life was associated with a substantially reduced risk of mortality. Thus, a person with high purpose in life was about half as likely to die over the follow-up period compared to a person with low purpose.

My Comment: And those who possess the spiritual goal to attain revelation of the Creator in this life, reach not only longevity but also possession and perception of eternal life.

A question I received: I completed the ARI Online beginner and advanced classes, and for the past two years have been attending your online classes daily. I’ve studied Pticha, Shamati, and The Book of Zohar. Your wisdom is profound. But, lately, the only portion of the lesson that that I feel I can relate to is Talmud Eser Sefirot. The abstract seems more real to me than the discussions concerning present world conditions. Is this normal, or am I losing my way?

My Answer: It’s temporary. You will discover that Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator in our world and is realized by studying correction of oneself and of the whole world. To the extent one is corrected, one perceives the world as unified and transparent, for all of universal creation is perceived by us in a single desire that was created. It begins to appear as unified, and all of the worlds will appear as sensations in different layers of that single desire.

Subsequently, the study material, too, will begin to reveal one and the same thing, only in different languages. Finally, everything will come to be seen as one picture, static, whole and perfect.
