Question: We see today that experts from various sectors cannot manage and overcome problems in the economy and in other fields. Is it possible to replace these experts with integral unification in circles?

Answer: Yes, it’s possible, if these unions are built by people who understand what is happening. There are very few people like this in the world. They must be experts in integral upbringing. Essentially, we need to go out to humanity and explain how the world is integral and mutually linked; how we have evolved so far and into what state we are entering; that the general crisis is not accidental and that its solution can only be in this form and not another.

The solution is simple and the same for everyone. You don’t have to be great experts for this. It is simply necessary to teach people how to connect in similarity to nature which now reveals itself as integral.

If there is a butterfly effect, and we truly see this in all of our movements, then it is desirable that we learn about this effect and control it because it can seriously threaten all of humanity.

Baal HaSulam, “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar“: In the generation of the Messiah anyone can reach adhesion and attainment. 

We are in the days of the Messiah and can enter the spiritual world, although we will have to sweat in order to do that.

After millennia of evolution, the desire to receive has been revealed in its fullest on the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature. Only the speaking level is left, which we uncover thanks to the wisdom of Kabbalah. This is the reason that it is revealed to everyone unexceptionally. We can attain all the 125 levels and reach the end of correction.

In the past, in the generation of Rashbi, Rabbi Shimon’s group, who wrote The Book of Zohar, were given this chance. Today, however, although we are small and worthless, lowly and weak, the structure of our vessels is fit for The Book of Zohar.

It is just like an embryo that is not a ripe human being yet, but still belongs to the same species and only must develop. It is the same with us who, unlike previous generations, “fit” The Book of Zohar and can use it to draw the Light that Reforms, and this is why it is revealed.

Anyone who thinks that it is forbidden to study the wisdom of Kabbalah should understand this. Things have changed since new human desires are appearing that belong to the generation of the Messiah.

“The generation of the Messiah” is the name of a period when the Light called “Messiah” comes and acts on the vessels. On the previous levels, we advanced by the egoistic evolution, according to the principle of “go and make a living from one another,” in the egoistic sense. Today, the desire of the fourth level, on the human level, is developing, and thus we all depend on each other. After all, a human being (“Adam” in Hebrew) is someone who feels that he depends on and is incorporated in the whole. This state is expressed in the global crisis of the modern world.

Everything begins from the Light that flows upon the first three levels of humanity: the still, the vegetative, and the animate. These levels are not mutually connected as they should be. They are not compatible with the upper system and the Light that comes from there. After all, the Light brings us the wholeness of the ten Sefirot, while the vessels are dispersed, their Sefirot are dispersed and separated, and so they experience a shattering, a crisis in different forms.

So, what should they do? We should unite, but how? Using their logic, they try to unite and correct where they feel the crisis—in cultural life, in education, in industry, in technology, in finance, in commerce, and so on. And, indeed, why not? “Wherever things are bad, this is where we must correct the situations so that it will be better.”

Yet, as a result, we experience even greater troubles. After all, the problem is not where we feel the emptiness, but in the means of filling this void. So, there is no point settling for a struggle in trying to fill this void.

Here, humanity faces a new source of pressure: the need for what we call Masach (screen). After all, the only way we can receive the Light correctly is if we connect with others in ten Sefirot. When you develop mutual bestowal in this connection, you become similar to the Light and its attributes, and then it fills you.

So, a totally different approach is needed today. The crisis is felt as an empty void, but the solution is not in egoistic fulfillment, but in unity.

People generally understand that together, they can manage in life. At the same time, in their attempts to unite without the integral system, they only contribute to worsening the situation. It is because the point isn’t just connection, but connection with the Creator, through Israel, according to the spiritual hierarchy.

In the past, the vessels of Israel were above the nations of the world. After the shattering, they fell, and now the nations of the world are above them, seem more prosperous, and of course don’t feel the need for Israel in order to come out of the crisis. It is because they are actually above Israel; they are not shattered, while Israel is, and so they see themselves as the religious authority, as responsible for the world and for everything in general.

In the current circumstances, this feeling is natural, and the correction must come by understanding the general picture, which will lead the nations of the world to the method of correction. Until then, all their efforts will lead to the opposite results, as is happening in Europe that has created a common market. Today, the Europeans should understand that unity is only possible according to the integral method thanks to the power of Israel in it.

This is the reason that many forms of unity in the world get stuck. We are the reason for that, those who represent the level of Israel. We must be ready to pass on the message about that to humanity: The real connection can only be through us. Otherwise, if they will begin to unite by themselves, this only will make things worse, and wars will immediately start all over the world.

There are three states: the initial state after the creation of the created being, the process of the corrections, and the state of the end of correction. These states exist only with regard to the person who is attaining the spiritual world, but in fact we only exist in Malchut of Ein Sof (Infinity), in the desire of the created being who attains the Creator.

The attainment is achieved as the created being changes gradually and reaches an equivalence of form with the Creator. According to the level of the equivalence of form, he attains the Creator more deeply each time until he becomes equal to Him in all his attributes and actions. By that he fulfills the thought of Creation, which is to do good to His created beings.

So, the moment the desire to receive develops to such a degree that it begins to understand and to feel its existence by asking: “Who created me and what do I exist for?” All one’s thoughts and actions have to be aimed only at attaining an equivalence of form and the revealing the One who gave birth to him. Thus, we reach the fulfillment of the goal of creation.

The main thing is to constantly think about how to accept the movements that the Creator is operating on me now. I need to accept everything as coming from there is none else besides Him, from the upper force, and that there is nothing else but Him, and to understand that everything is in the hands of the Creator, and to decide that “if I am not for myself, who is for me,” in order to reach an agreement and adhesion with the one root that does everything.

The indication for such an attitude is joy. Its fulfillment is only by connection, in yearning to bring all of creation to its one common root.

The location of the land of Israel is initially a desire that belongs to the nations of the world. As a corporeal result of the spiritual root, a group called the nation of Israel comes to this land and conquers it, freeing it from the peoples who are living in it so that it can be called the land of Israel.

This happens thanks to the connection of the corporeal branches with the spiritual root, since otherwise we would have no right to exist on this land and no right to inherit the land. Only if we are adapted to this land in the spiritual sense and are worthy of it according to our correction can we live on it.

Thus, Baal HaSulam says that in our world we have received the state of Israel as an opportunity from Above. First we come to the land of Israel totally unprepared and not united as the real Israeli nation. By constantly going through the correction on the account of a person’s work, the correction of the intention, through this, he could come and conquer the desire called the land of Israel.

This is what happened with the group of Abraham who left Babylon and who later returned to this land after the exodus from Egypt. Before that there was the gathering before Mt. Sinai and the forty years of exile in the desert, and then the wars of conquering this land, the land of Israel and the areas around it that were part of the conquests of King David.

But it was all on the condition that they first corrected the human level in them and then the rest of the lower levels. It is because the intention precedes the desire: First the desire should be corrected and then it conquers the intention and dominates it.

It is the desire that is called human or the nation of Israel. When the desire is corrected after the intention in all its levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature, it is called the land of Israel.

So in the past we came prepared for the corporeal actions on this land and then after having conquered it we called it the land of Israel. But this time we return totally unprepared internally. Therefore, these wars are not in order to conquer the Holy Land, not in order to free it from the ego, but rather an opportunity to discover the need for the correction of man. To the extent that we correct ourselves, we will really receive our land of Israel.

Otherwise, it will never be ours. If we are late in our correction, we will hear more and more complaints from the nations of the world, from those who are next to us and those who are far from us, claiming that this land doesn’t belong to us. It will be very difficult to stand against that, and no one will listen to our excuses since they are really very weak. We will not be able to convince anyone with excuses about events that took place two thousand years ago, and if the nations of the world start to blame us, it will make a big noise all over the world.

There is a feeling that this place doesn’t really belong to us, among the nations of the world and also among the Jews themselves. It is because the corporeal branch should reflect the spiritual root, and so far, we have not been awarded with a connection to the root. Therefore, the nations of the world don’t feel our connection to the land.

We were given such a chance from Above once, and we were hopeful and so were the nations of the world; there was a kind of an illumination. But unfortunately during the last decades of the existence of the state of Israel this illumination has disappeared. I have not heard anyone, except for the Bnei Baruch group, crying out for the spiritual correction of the Israeli nation and for the corporeal correction.

Question: During the integral workshops, people feel new sensations, especially those who are used to clarifying and analyzing processes. They begin to ask, where does this come from, what is this phenomenon, and so forth. How can we explain the sensations they are feeling to them?

Answer: These are sensations of the one collective integral nature, which really exists. We are found within it, but are, meanwhile, only a cancerous part that eats itself. As we rise above our ego, we begin to feel the integrality, the unification, and the mutual dependence. We feel how prolific and good this is, and how much this can influence health, our emotions, and our mutual relationships in the family, at work, everywhere!

We, humans, have become a unique creation in nature. Whereas all the rest of nature—the still, the vegetative, and the animate—are linked in an integrated scheme and participate naturally, instinctively, involuntarily; we were given free choice.

We cannot be like the others. We develop with an ego, in order to transform it, rise above it, and enter into integral understanding and feeling by cooperating with it independently and even to control it.

Simultaneously, we don’t enter into conflict with nature. On the one hand, we say a human is the crown of the creation of nature, and therefore we must obey it. On the other hand, the human can rise above his nature. He can be the master of nature and feel himself as its crown.

This is to say that all the questions that humanity has faced and must answer have arrived for we have risen to a level of integral connection that is to be found in balance with the whole of nature. We begin to feel this balance within us as serenity, relaxation, the expansion of consciousness, the expansion of emotion.

My Comment: The problem is that we have no sense of responsibility and necessity. Our nearsightedness affects us. We love children but cannot look sensibly at the future that we are preparing for them. This is what is said in The Book of Zohar about our generation: “Today, we will eat and drink, and tomorrow – even death!” The force of unity is above the nature of our world, and if we begin to apply it to the general balance of the system, we will immediately find restoration of everything “broken, ruined, and crooked.”

Rabash, “One Should Always Sell the Beams of His House:” Rather, I truly want love of others. This is why I was interested in establishing this society, so I would see that each and every one is engaging in love of others, so that through it, the little bit of force that I have in love of others would increase and I would have the strength to engage in love of others more powerfully than I could by myself. But now I see that I have gained nothing because I see that not even one is doing good. Thus, it would be better if I weren’t with them and hadn’t learned from their actions.

To that, there is the reply that if a society is established with certain people, and when they gathered, there must have been someone who wished to establish specifically this “bunch.” Thus, he sorted out these people to see that they were suitable for each other. In other words, each of them had a spark of love of others, but the spark could not ignite the light of love to shine in each, so they agreed that by uniting, the sparks would become a big flame.

A group is not just a collection of people who gather in order to study together like in a certain course. This gathering is called a Kabbalistic group the moment these people feel a real need for an inner connection, in order to discover the Creator in it and by that to bring Him contentment.

When all these conditions are fulfilled, even in the most initial form, then we may see that a place and the time, the conditions for the birth of the group are formed. Anyone who decides that the main thing he needs in life is the concern for such an inner connection with other people in order to find the revelation of the Creator in this connection is a called a “member” in the group.

Our obligation is to constantly check whether we are compatible with these conditions. If we are not, if a person is not compatible with these conditions and exits the domination of the group, he immediately returns to the level of the animate. But whoever remains connected to others in order to annul himself in order to bring about connection and in it to discover the upper force, the force of bestowal and general love is part of the group when he succeeds in doing that.

Eventually, the collective efforts of the friends lead to the revelation of the system called the “soul.” They build the spiritual system of the ten Sefirot between them, the Direct Light, the Returning Light, the three lines, etc. All the details of the upper worlds about which we study in The Study of the Ten Sefirot will be revealed in the connection between us as the components of the system of the soul.

From Rabash’s Letter 5: … you should do more in love of friends. It is impossible to achieve lasting love, unless through Dvekut [adhesion], meaning that you will unite the two of you with a tight bond. And this can be only if you try to “undress” the clothing in which the inner soul is placed—the clothing called “self-love”…

And when you feel that you are at war, each of you will know and feel that he needs the help of his friend, and without him, his own strength will weaken, too. Then, when you understand that you must save your life, each of you will forget that he has a body he must keep, and you will both be tied by the thought of how to use the enemy.

Love of friends is attained by way of a war for its sake. It is impossible to attain adherence that indicates constant love without striving to leave the clothing of the evil inclination in which the soul is clothed. To leave this clothing of self-love is possible only if you exchange it for love of the other, for the screen and the Returning Light.

This, specifically, is what we must reach. When we begin to search for how to do this, we feel that everything essentially depends on our relationship to the other, things that are so contemptible in our world. All relationships in the world are established according to laws, protecting the rights of the individual, of democracy. However, when we see some of the truth through the influence of the Surrounding Light, we then understand that it is specifically through connection with the other that we realize the entire program of creation.

The other one, whether a friend or the Creator, is the same; there is no difference. If I want to rise above myself and reach the Creator, it is precisely then that I see that I require help from a friend. As long as all the friends have not come to my aid, according to how much I give myself over to them, I cannot do anything.

What we require is mutual cooperation where we depend upon each other. As much as I give myself over to others, to this extent they can help me, and when they come to help me, I stop thinking about myself. In spite of myself, I rise above myself.

However, the friends can come to help me only if I subdue myself with respect to them. With this, I oblige them to be concerned for me. This is saying that everything depends on the work of the individual regarding his environment. The more I subdue myself and am ready to adhere to the environment, to the teacher, to the books, to learning, to dissemination—which is to say, to all means for attaining the goal, trusting like an infant, surrendering myself to the lowest level—the closer I come to my spiritual realization.

I must begin my spiritual ascent from zero. The more I approach zero with my thoughts, desires, and deeds, the more I adhere to the group and oblige it to be concerned about me. I begin to receive the right influence from inside the group. Whatever level on which it is found at the moment is not even important. This influence makes it possible for me to nullify my self-love, departing from the egoistic shell (Klipa), from the evil inclination, and to start the spiritual work.

Rabash, Letter 59: The Zohar says, “Everyone is what his heart presumes, to that extent the Creator’s Light illuminates on him and this is called the phase of faith.”

We speak about the human level here, which values the Creator’s greatness in one’s heart. To that extent I acquire the level of equivalence to the Creator, and discover the upper Light in me.

First we are all in an egoistic desire, and for a long time we assume that we can attain something. This period is called “the seven years of satiety.” Then we begin to understand that the ego will not give us anything, and feeling disappointed in it we turn to the desire to bestow.

This is already a great revolution, “and a new king rose in Egypt.” In other words, the egoistic desire in which I saw everything that is good now showers blows upon me. What are these blows? If we look at the modern world, we see that it is full of plenty for all. In the exact same way the children of Israel didn’t lack anything, they had more than enough “meat.” So what was the problem? What was lacking? What is this new domination?

The point is that I begin to understand and to feel that my ego is not me. It becomes a new cruel king for me. I don’t identify with it anymore and look for something above it, but it holds on to me and doesn’t let me go…

Today, even the poor live much better than most people lived two centuries ago. A simple worker enjoys what used to be luxuries for a few in the past. But the problem is that I feel bad and cannot do anything about this feeling.

The moment we feel this new dominion we begin to look for a way out, since this kind of life is meaningless. But it turns out that we cannot escape. I hate my life, I feel helpless, in exile, imprisoned. I feel that I am “cornered” by my family, my work, my debts, and by consumerism. From birth to death I am a slave that imagines that he is free and at the same time discovers the yoke on his neck.

I want to escape this slavery but encounter an even more difficult question: “What am I living for?” The simple pleasures of this world and its “animal” existence do not satisfy me anymore, and so I look upward to see if there is something there.

Then, I get a chance to rise above this life. I begin to understand and feel that we are actually living in a different reality, and that the current perception is simply unreal. This is where the work begins, the search thanks to which we discover that the only way to open our eyes and our emotions widely, in order to open the door to the real life, is through unity.

There is the personal individual perspective and there is the general perspective that goes through the general connection. By connecting we discover a totally different picture, but it’s very difficult to discern this picture. After all, I have to annul myself, and to refocus my perception of the world and my attitude to life in order to see everything through the group, though a collection of people whose opinions and desires become a “magnifying glass,” a “lens,” through which I see reality.

It’s very difficult to lower one’s head before the friends and to acknowledge the fact that they are great and to allow them to form the picture of the world for me in my mind and heart. If we do these exercises often enough, according to the method that we have, we see the results, and it’s as if we “regain our sight,” which means that we begin to see the current system in which we live, a system that was previously out of my sight.

So, the initial correction during the phase of preparation begins when I “lower my head” before others. The first phase of the annulment is called the “exodus from Egypt.” If before the ego subdued me and prevented me from connecting, now I leave its domination and I can already connect. Thus I escape the ego, detach myself from it and leave it.

But in the meantime it’s only an escape. Later I make greater efforts to annul myself and in the time of “smallness,” during the “counting of the Omer:” I am small and only want to connect to the friends as much as I can with all my might.

This is what we are going through now. If we try we will reach the giving of the Torah, which means the Light that Reforms, even if we don’t see anything and if we don’t understand, but we make efforts, wanting to connect above Pharaoh, above everything that is in us, we attain connection in which the Creator is revealed. This is called the giving of the Torah. Then we continue our connection in practice.

From Rabash’s letter (No. 8): …at the end of the day, this is a group of people who have gathered in a certain place, under a certain leader, to be together. With superhuman courage they face up to all those who rise against them.

Indeed, they are brave men with a strong spirit, and they are determined not to retreat one inch. They are first-class fighters, fighting the war against the inclination to their last drop of blood, and their only wish is to win the battle for the glory of His name.

These words are said about the internal war that takes place inside us, as it is written, “There will always be a fight between good and bad inclinations.” The more we kindle this internal battle, the sooner we will understand that we have to exit from our ego, overpower it, escape from it, and rise above the materiality that we now sense.

There is no other way to escape from this world and attain the higher level other than by being under constant pressure, fear, and troubles that lead us to a condition that is defined as the “exodus from Egypt.” We begin revealing these qualities in us, and they make us come “out of our skin,” meaning to leave our bodies.

Only these conditions allow us to rise. It happens by a single circumstance: We should retain and work with our internal properties that are opposite by nature. One doesn’t escape by soaring into spirituality. We can’t do it by floating in the skies or leaving this material world below, nor is it about detaching from this corporeality. At the same time, we shouldn’t submerge into this realm or consider that this world as something that exists on its own.

We have to stay in the middle and realize that both forms are given to us by the Creator and that we are supposed to combine them together. By no means should we run away or hide from the desire to be pleased; rather, above this desire we have to stay confident that it’s the Upper Force that governs everything around us. It’s a unique and complicated approach for which we need an internal inborn readiness that is called “the root of the soul.” As well, we also need a group that is ready to follow this path, as it is written in Rabash’s letter: At the end of the day, this is a group of people who have gathered in a certain place, under a certain leader, to be together.

There are not many such groups. On the contrary, the farther we advance, the more will be the supporters around us and the fewer the people inside the group. The more precious a quality is the less it’s found in nature. Our goal is to rise to a “superhuman level.”

We can achieve it only by leading a merciless war against our egos. This war is called a “Holy War,” meaning the “war for the sake of the Creator.” In order to lead this war, we should connect both worlds with the Creator, agree to live in two parallel realms, and thank Him for everything that He sends to us. We should understand that everything is originated from one place and is given to us to make us grow.

Rabash writes to us about these issues: …at the end of the day, this is a group of people who have gathered in a certain place, under a certain leader, to be together. With superhuman courage they face up to all those who rise against them… This implies our internal problems. Indeed, they are brave men with a strong spirit, and they are determined not to retreat one inch…meaning that they won’t move towards materiality. They are first-class fighters, fighting the war against the inclination to their last drop of blood, and their only wish is to win the battle for the glory of His name.

This explains why we have to strengthen; if we manage to achieve everything that we spoke about and attain the states that we went through during this Passover, there is no doubt that we will end up being at the doorstep that is already in front of us.
