Hold on to the Creator

284.06Question: Now, we are returning to physical interaction from interacting virtually. What is the point of striving for the new? What is our addition? What should we focus on?

Answer: We want to be connected by the force of the Creator so He will manifest between us, so we can feel that we are holding on to Him, and through Him, on to all our friends. Previously, in our work, it was necessary to hold on to friends, and now you will hold on to the Creator in order to hold on to friends.

I hope that soon all the problems in Europe will resolve, we will be freer to move, and we will be able to organize all kinds of congresses again. I hope it will be soon.

According to the Law of Equivalence of Qualities

962.4At the end of all the gates, He made a gate with several locks. This last gate is the first gate for the upper Hochma [wisdom] (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

Once a person has made the initial corrections, he comes to the gate where he reveals the essence of his connection with the Creator. Then he begins to attain his nature, the nature of the Creator, and the connection between them.

Here the law of equivalence of qualities is triggered. The Creator is the quality of bestowal, the quality of unity that connects all systems in nature. If people unite with each other, they thus acquire similar qualities and thereby open the gates to the attainment of the Creator.

There is no other opportunity in our world for the qualities of unity and bestowal to be manifested besides in the connection between people.

We should thoroughly understand the meaning of locks, openings, and halls. Know that they are three forms that come one after the other over a single substance (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

When a person moves closer to the Creator, he acquires His qualities, and by gradually adapting to them, reveals within himself such inner qualities as new knowledge, new desires, and new opportunities. In them, he receives the qualities of the Creator.

Opening the Gates of Attainment

527.03The thought cannot perceive Him whatsoever. Hence, He made many gates one atop the other, by which He made it possible to approach Him (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, “Two Points”).

Gates mean the gates of attainment through which we can approach the Creator as we begin to understand Him and interact with Him.

Therefore, when the gates open, a person enters the next revelation of the Creator, then the next one, and so on.

One opens them by coming closer to the Creator and passing through them to the next state in which a person must also make required corrections, thereby causing the opening of the next gate.

In Transition between Two Worlds

13.03Question: During the Coronavirus epidemic we were forced to switch to virtual interaction. We are now trying to get back to physical meetings and have a hard time meeting once a week. What do such meetings add to us, and is it worth striving for them?

Answer: We start our path in our world and so we must continue it. There can be no other opinions here. We must come together in ever larger groups according to the strength, quantity, and quality of the unity.

We are obliged to draw closer to each other; this is the program of creation. In other words, we must feel the yearning to unite hearts and inner desires. Although we do not have any natural inclinations for this, we are obligated to do it.

We must return the whole world, everything that exists in the universe, to a single desire that would want to be together in its inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human manifestations. This is what we are moving toward now. We are at a turning point, at a pass.

We need to understand this well, think about it, and evaluate it considering the entire history of humanity, everything that happens to us, as necessary actions for our correction. We have to think and talk about it, feel it, and that is how we should act and advance.

Do not worry. We are moving forward. We will still have to unite to the extent that we will no longer feel the difference between us until all our bodies and all of corporeality begin to disappear from our sensations.

Inevitable Change

231.01Question: At the moment, we do not have external constraints that would force us to stay in a virtual connection. How do we get back to physical meetings? What is the difference whether we work in the ten or gather together with all the tens? There are no restrictions but they remained within us, and we got stuck in them.

Answer: I see that after the virus there are many changes in each of us and between us, between the tens, and in general groups. There is nothing we can do about it. We must understand that such changes must obviously take place.

We, in Israel, also have big changes in the groups, in numbers, in connections, and in the way we unite. I think that it will take some more time, and maybe it will turn into a new state and not somehow return to the past.

Every one of us must work in their group. The tens are by no means canceled; the wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about their necessity. Connection of the tens, however, will begin when we come closer to the common desire. As it is said in the Torah when they entered the Land of Israel, they began to unite and correct themselves. I hope this will all become clear soon.

Learning not with the Mind but with the Heart

165Thus, when a person learns Torah, he must intend that the Torah and Mitzvot he is doing will help him emerge from the control of the evil (“What Is ‘The Earth Feared and Was Still,’ in the Work,” RABASH).

When we try to connect and ask together to be changed from egoists to altruists that are connected with each other by good ties, it means that we use the upper light, the upper energy, the light of the Torah or the Torah itself in order to correct ourselves. This is what we should be doing.

Question: What does it mean “to learn the Torah”?

Answer: It means to feel what is happening in us at that time. This is called learning not with the mind, but with the heart.

Until You Say: “I Want!”

507.05In Kabbalistic sources there is a saying: “He is forced until he says, ‘I want!’” (Kidushin 50a)

This means that a person makes every effort to be similar to the Creator, to follow His ways, that is, the path of coming closer to others and rising above his egoism.

This is how the surrounding light affects us although we do not feel it yet.

What Does It Mean to Reveal the Creator?

610.2Question: What does it mean to reveal The Creator? How can this be done?

Answer: To reveal the Creator means to reveal the singular force that governs everything and leads us toward its goal.

Numerous conclusions can be drawn from this: How we can reveal Him, how we can utilize our connection with Him, whether we possess the capability for this, and so on. All of this is studied in the science of Kabbalah.

A Vehicle for Kedusha [Holiness]

624.07But if one wants to learn the wisdom, to know how to crown the Creator and how to serve Him with intention and sanctify one’s 248 organs and make them a vehicle for the Kedusha [holiness], this is called “the glory of kings,” how to crown and serve Him. In that case, “delve in the matter” (“Concerning Learning the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” Article No. 189, RABASH).

A vehicle for Kedusha is the highest system of governance.

We have to raise everything that is given to us for correction. Even if we do not think about it, it will still rise automatically.

Question: How can you complete the correction and make it overturn as if the Reshimot had been exhausted?

Answer: There are still many Reshimot (spiritual information records) that need to be corrected. And we have to do it. Every minute we must renew our work on the connection between us and on the request to the Creator.

The Function of the Screen

232.06Question: In paragraph 14 of Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah, Baal HaSulam introduces a new term “screen” or “Masach.” What is a screen and what is its function?

Answer: The screen is a condition that I attract the upper light and fill with it only to the extent that I enjoy it not for my own sake, but for the sake of others, outsiders because in this case, I become not a receiver, but a giver.

The science of Kabbalah tells about how to attract the upper light and start receiving it with the help of bestowal. Such receiving is not considered receiving, since it is equivalent to bestowal, and at the same time, I feel myself in the same way as the Creator, who gives to me, feels.

In other words, the screen is an anti-egoistic property that allows me to protect my desire from the pleasure coming from the Creator.
