Comment: A New York school teaches children a new language that does not have the words “mom,” “dad,” “boy,” or “girl.” All these words are considered offensive by the school administration. Instead of “mom” and “dad,” you should say “adults,” “relatives,” and “family”; instead of the words “father” and “mother” gender-neutral terms should be used: “parent” or “guardian,” and instead of “husband” and “wife” – “partner.”

A new language is slowly entering the world. Will it enter or not?

Question: A lot of people believe in the power of a curse and are afraid of it. I had a friend Vitalik who told me that curses exist and one has been acting in his family on the male line for decades, almost a century. Precisely on the male line. And he even felt that he was next in line. He died just a week after our conversation.

What is this, a curse? Does it exist or not?

Answer: There is an evil eye, there are curses, all sorts of spells and so on and so forth. All this exists, and we must take it into account.

Question: But is there a difference between an evil eye and a curse? The evil eye can be accidental somehow, and a curse is a targeted murder.

Question: And if this is done intentionally?

Question: And how can you protect yourself from a curse or the evil eye? Is it possible to protect yourself?

Answer: My attitude to it is this: a person must die by himself.

Question: Despite the suffering and all that he is experiencing?

Answer: When Baal HaSulam was asked about this, he said that a person has no right to interfere in this: how to leave and when to leave is not his business. And even if he has the opportunity, of course, it’s none of his business.

You must continue to exist, no matter how bad you feel. Take your medication, do whatever you want! But in no other way.

Question: A report by the US National Intelligence Council warns that the next 20 years will be chaotic and turbulent: population growth will slow down, there will be massive aging of the population, and the climate will change. Storms, hurricanes, floods, and heat waves will lead to an increase in migration. International relations will become unpredictable, ties will not be established, but on the contrary, will break apart, they believe. Famine will increase. The pandemic will have a long-term impact, namely: there will be growing distrust of medicine, science, authorities, and politics resulting in protests and riots. The ending, though, is very interesting: “Every person will have their own truth.”

How do you feel about this, that there is nothing good in store for us?

Answer: There will be light at the end of the tunnel.

Question: And what about having nothing good ahead of us?

Answer: This is the light. What matters is that reasons are emerging for us to change, to change the whole of humanity.

Question: So, the fact that a person is worried that nothing good is ahead for us, you think is a good thing?

Answer: This, too, is good, yes. One should be looking for ways to change things. Give humanity a good future and it will go completely wild.

Question: And what about not expecting anything good?

Answer: It’s not good because it does not flow in the same direction as the course of nature. Nature must force us to correct ourselves, to change! But if we have such bright prospects, as both the capitalists and the communists depicted for us, then we do not need to correct ourselves, everything is fine and peaceful.

What did those who propagated this ideology tell us? “You let us lead, and everything will be great for you in the future. In the meantime, go on as you were, and be content,” and so on.

First, we have to see a bleak picture of the future if we don’t change. We need to see a clear dependency, a connection, between man’s internal state and the external state of nature.

If man changes, everything around him changes as well, and if not, then it won’t happen. Nature influences us this way, through an opposite, negative connection. It will force us to change through all sorts of problems so that we will discover this dependency!

I will come to the conclusion that I have no other way out. And then I will begin to realize that not only do I have no other way out, but thank God, there is no other way out! Because this is how I break out of this rotting, beastly existence and become a self-changing being.

In which direction do I change? This is something that we have to find the correct expression for, the right manner for these changes. A human being is one who strives to be like the Creator. And the Creator is the great, unified force of nature, the giving force, that births everything, emanates from itself. And I must become like this force. This means that I must reach a state where I treat everything that is outside of me with infinite love. And then everything will fall into place. And it turns out that everything that the Communists, philosophers, and Marxist philosophers said was correct.

Comment: Well! For one to go through such a transformation! I can’t even imagine what one must go through in order to come to a state of equivalence of form to the Creator, emanating love, kindness, and warmth.

My Response: One will desire it from within more than life.

Question: And you don’t need anything else, just this?

Answer: Just this. And not to think of myself, that I will change, but to think about how the whole world will change into the quality of love and bestowal. Through man, the animate, vegetative, and inanimate levels will begin to change. And in the end, absolutely everything, the still, vegetative, animate, and human levels, will be at the degree of mutual, infinite, boundless love.

Then, in this huge desire, mutual on all these four levels, the upper force will manifest and envelop everything within itself, and the whole world will take on one single form. That’s all.

Today, the foundation for this is being laid, the foundation for all this. We must properly give the right shape to this action of nature and our personal aspiration, and aim it correctly through our appeal to all of mankind.

It will definitely happen, because man is a sentient being. Therefore, he can be intimidated, brought to his knees, coerced, and thus taught. While we can train an animal to the point of becoming a well-behaved animal, we can change a human being such that he rises above himself.

I consider this forecast by the current-day experts as very acceptable and realistic, to put it mildly.

Question: So you’re saying that if the changes in man that you speak of, happen earlier—this plan will fail?

Answer: It doesn’t need to take 20 years, it’s clear that it’s still going to happen. A wave of this pandemic has to pass, this one, then there will be another one and another, a different one, all kinds, in different places. It won’t just be one huge wave. There will be many different waves from different sides that will all batter us, and we will not be able to keep up, to react, to create vaccines.

No, we won’t be able to do anything. But each time we will keep up with it because we will be getting smarter. We will agree more and more with the upper force that coerces us, so the pandemic will subside and give way to the next wave. And we will try to cope with the next wave too through our own efforts, try to do something about it. And then we will see: “No, it is better that we change in a particular way, and then it will not affect us.” That is, we will come to see how selectively these waves of all kinds of suffering will affect us and force us to change.

Question: Where will our first realization come that this is coming from nature, that it is nature working on us like this?

Answer: It will come from pain.

Question: And then the understanding of where it is leading us will be greater and greater, right?

Answer: Yes, with each wave, greater and greater…

Question: How many impacts of such waves do you anticipate?

Answer: It depends on the extent of humanity’s intelligence. And I’m very skeptical about that.

Comment: The UN has established a commission to investigate human rights violations in the Palestinian territories and in Israel as a result of the latest operation Guardian of the Walls. After each military operation, a commission in the UN is formed and they constantly want to judge our soldiers and officers.

24 countries voted in favor, 9 against, and 14 abstained. Look who is voting in favor! Those who trample their citizens, kill them, put them in concentration camps. They are the ones voting to condemn Israel.

My Response: This is the world we live in.

Question: Soon we will not be able to carry out any military operation at all, even the most precise, and not be condemned later or face a military tribunal declaring something against us. How can we defend ourselves?

Answer: We do not need to defend ourselves. We need to act the only way we can, that is, to turn to the Creator, unite above egoism, and then no one will attack us. That is all. Otherwise, we will not get away with anything.

Comment: But no one understands this except you and a small number of Kabbalists.

To correct ourselves means to achieve a bond of friendship, brotherhood, and even love.

We must create those conditions, those relations between us. And then nothing else is needed.

Question: You do not even have to arm yourself,  you do not have to do anything?

Answer: We can stay with what we have for now, but actually, it will not be needed.

Question: We need a strong army in order for time to come when we can unite with each other?

Answer: Yes. We need to create such relations between us. That’s it! And the world will watch and rejoice.

Question: And so, peace and quiet will come to the world only because of this small point where this great event took place?

Answer: Of course! It all started here, and it will end here.

Question: Is this what they want us to understand?

Answer: Yes. But we do not understand. And we will not understand if for a while longer; it is a stiff-necked nation.

Question: How do you see the future? The time-frame, how much time do we have?

Question: The Israeli Prime Minister and the Defense Minister met with foreign diplomats in Israel. They very logically, accurately, and visibly proved that Palestinian rocket launchers are stored in residential areas, in kindergartens, inside houses and hospitals, and that under residential areas of Gaza there is a huge underground city where militants are hiding behind residents and that our airstrikes are precisely targeted.

If there are threats to civilians, they are immediately notified to leave the area and are given time to evacuate. Evidence was presented that one quarter of the Palestinian rockets fell on their own territory, but that they do not care. They bombed Lod and hit the city of Tyre in the north of the country, which are populated by Arabs.

It was clearly proven that there is no army as humane as ours.

Do you think that we will always have to justify ourselves to the world—how good we are?

Answer: I do not think we need to do it because we will not be able to justify ourselves and because we are not so good. In fact, we are still the ones to blame. We will always be guilty, and we will always be the ones held liable.

As long as egoism exists in the world that causes rejection, hatred, and separation from each other, we will be guilty because we are the source of it.

And there is no getting away from it. Thus, everyone will be increasingly fixated on us, will accuse us, and will act around us and against us. We used to believe that as we develop, people would get smarter year after year and understand that it is not us.

But nothing could be further from the truth! Look at the Holocaust! We thought that when the truth of the Holocaust was out in the open people would see what it was and would change their attitude toward this long-suffering nation.

But no! We see what humanity is saying: “You have suffered? Suffer a thousand times more! Because we are all suffering because of you.” Humanity has this feeling that they are suffering because of us, that we are the source of suffering.

Question: Then I have this question: should we respond when we are attacked, and how should we respond?

Answer: We must defend ourselves in order to exist. It says in the Torah: “He who comes to kill you, kill him first.” But you must do so with the awareness that you must correct this state of being attacked. You must investigate the reason why others hate you and eradicate this hatred.

Question: So in any case, the first thing is to fight back, right?

Answer: Otherwise, who will justify, correct the world, and so on? Yes.

But Jews cannot really be annihilated. After all, they are the ones who have to bring the world to correction. This is our problem.

Question: What has to happen for everyone to feel that this is our land, that we are defending our land?

Answer: The nations of the world will not only feel this, but they will lead us to this country, they will open all the borders for us and say: “Come in and live here! Reign in glory, we will glorify you.”

Question: When will this happen?

Answer: When we all come together and when out of our correct, kind connection, we influence the whole of nature so that all of nature comes to unity, to a good relationship with each other so that all nations will suddenly look at each other with love. Comment: Didn’t your teacher Rabash worry about the soldiers as if they were his own children? I remember you said that even while praying, he would listen to the news. He was asked, “How can you listen to the news during a prayer?” He said: “My children are there.”

Baal HaSulam recognized this country and even met with the head of state Ben-Gurion. He wanted this country to exist. You came here and served and worked in the army. And in general, everyone knows that you are not a left-leaning person.

My Response: I am neither left nor right. I do not stick to the left or the right wing’s ideology.

Question: You have a Kabbalistic view that this country should become just that, and that is what it was created for. And for this purpose Jews were gathered here?

Answer: Yes, to turn it into the spiritual center of the world.

Question: And then, at that moment, we will be able to say that this land is ours, right?

Question: We have already been through four elections in Israel. Do you think there can be a government with different parties from different directions? They are already voicing slogans: “From Me to We.” That is, they will sort of try to annul themselves in order to come to a common decision. How will the system still work?

Answer: It will not work. There is no foundation for the system to work. Answer: I do not know. We will reach a state when there will be military coups again, generals will seize power with the help of troops. And on our borders, our dear neighbors will wait anticipating victory.

What is International Friendship Day for you?

Answer: For me, everyday is like this. I meet with my students. Our regular congress ended the other day. Four to five thousand people were in a real time connection via the Internet. We saw each other, we listened, we talked, and we felt each other. These are friends.

Friends are people who are close to you in terms of purpose, perception of the world, and life, its inner harmony and external discord.

Question: They don’t need to be reminded of anything?

Answer: No. We all experience this every day. A friend is someone who understands how you feel, and in some ways is in solidarity with you, in other ways, maybe not. But he understands you, you understand him. And together you are constantly looking for some common moments of rapprochement.

Question: Even if these are simple moments of rapprochement, in every day life? Would you call that a friend, too?

Answer: I think so, as well. Because in the end, all of our high matter is also there to make it all a corporeal rapprochement. We don’t need anything else, it should be very simple: rise above our conventionality, above all that man, nations, people, and states live by. My response: I totally agree. We do not lose it, it rather disappears from us. We do not want to focus on the question of the meaning of life: What do I need life for? What do I exist for? What was I born for?

For a small child, by the way, this is a very urgent inner question. He cannot ask it, he may not be able to answer it, but he lives with it. He has a very serious demand from both his parents and people around him. If you pay attention, there is an urgent demand in his every action. The small child sitting in your arms demands to reveal the question of the meaning of life.

Question: Why does it all disappear all of a sudden? After all, he demands it!

Answer: The force called the evil inclination appears. And it starts to confuse him.

Question: Do you mean that it is impossible to walk this path smoothly?
